This is the original end of a greatly enlarged Kingshouse Hotel (of which the rest seems to have gone upmarket) where Glencoe meets Rannoch Moor. A basic bar with basic prepared pies, sandwiches and chips, warmed up to order, with beer & plenty of whiskies. Substantial offerings for hungry hikers and travellers, and welcome for those who need it. Friendly and generous—we were given an extra pie because one had a broken crust—but nothing particularly special. Not much choice hereabouts, and OK if you are in the right place at the right time, but not a destination in itself.

Booked a meal deal a month ago. Day before arrival got e mail asking if we wanted to upgrade to a meal deal. Arrived to a big electronic display showing restaurant and meal deal. Told at reception no evening meals available we could have a refund. Very poor. Nearest alternative Morrisons cafe (which had practically nothing on the menue or McDonalds. Ruined our stay .

Roads End Cafe is a lifesaver at this time of the year, we were on the NC500 and fancied a bite to eat when we got to John o Groats. It is such a basic cafe but still serves hot toasties/sandwiches, soup and small cakes/scones. The lady that served us was lovely, so welcoming and willing to go the extra mile, she even recommended the haggis and cheese toastie which I couldn't turn down. Since it was so quiet, it was takeaway only but she let us sit in due to the gale force winds outside. I have to say the toasties are the best I have had in a while and not even that expensive despite the location, absolutely fantastic. It is a little gem if you're looking for something eat when you reach the most northernly point in Scotland!

Bon et pas excessif. Il y a une assez jolie vue si le parking n est pas trop plein. Et le personnel est très sympathique. On a prix deux plats deux boissons et deux desserts pour 53 livres

The staff in the cafe were helpful and friendly, service was quick and coffee was perfect, I am only visiting Inverness but if I was local i would be a regular here.
