This place is as nasty as the women that runs it tried to use the toilets. 1 cubicle you can't lock the door the other has no toilet seat showers are rancid how the lorry drivers try and wash in the showers is beyond farcical Now to the food experience all i can say is wot a waist of money no real Menu i don't like black pudding so asked if they could change it for a slice of toast omg this obviously upset this nutter behind the till she started shouting and yelling telling me it was to difficult to change a bit of black pudding for a slice of toast the way she was going on about it you would have thought I wanted a steak and fries all i can say its a total dive of a truck stop and the food and staff are as nasty and disgusting as each other

Cheap to park and pretty quiet but the food was really diabolical, the portion size was probably just enough for a child, not a full grown man and not much taste to it either, and the showers well I wouldn't even put my dog in there, avoid if you can

I noticed all drivers coming straight from trucks to cafe without washing their hands on entering or before eating. There were newspapers that everyone was using and the tables were not cleaned. This is a great cafe and you go for the convenience but at this time some posters up and reminders about the virus are important.

Met a friend here as a mid way point to collect her son for a weekend trip. We were worried it would be bad due to reviews, but actually it was fine. I had a decent coffee and my son had a panini which was good. Our friend had a cooked breakfast which he left quite a lot of, so maybe not as good as the panini. Staff were friendly and place seemed peaceful. Quick service. Not too busy but not empty either.

This is a truck stop. Difficult to park overnight if you are not here early. European drivers know this site well and often make up more than half of the vehicles parked here. The shower facilities are fairly reasonable, you need a token from the cafe to operate them. Food is a little on the basic side, and not cheap. Noise can be an issue with engines being started and loud talking. There does seem to be a lack of respect for vehicles that have the curtains closed, often indicating that the driver is asleep. HGV fuel is available on site and right next door is a forecourt for cars. It's ok as a last resort if you need somewhere to park and you are early enough.

This place is the pits. They are not bothered about us truckers. Food so so, no toilets throughout the night and no policy on having fridges turned off after 9pm. Rats running around at night. Steer clear the owners need to be ashamed of the place and themselves. Gonna ring council about the hygiene of the place tomorrow.

Food - overcooked, barely edible. You could snap a knife trying to cut into it.Showers - 3 showers, 1 broken so truckers were queuing out the door to take their turn. Need flip flops to walk across the floor which was minging.Toilets - filthy! No urinals so the 3 toilets available had piss soaked seats and no toilet roll. They were in a shocking state. Flush not working. Oh and don't expect any privacy when you go as there's no locks on any of the doors. Did try to get the attention of a manager but no one available. Won't be staying here again. An absolute cheek to charge £21 to park for the night and £1.50 for a shower.

I had the misfortune of having to park up in this place last night. £21 to park my truck between the fuel pumps (7pm). It was a noisy night. I was then informed after I'd parted with my cash that the cafe shuts at 7pm - but the Harvester down the road will do food. (Their food was rubbish).Nearby Toddington motorway services next time.

Stayed here a handful of times, the latest being last night. As a place to park, it’s OK though one time I stopped here a few years ago, I and other drivers were pestered by some Irish lads asking for “spare” diesel. The food is edible and no better. Staff are friendly enough. I only stay here if I can’t make somewhere better. It needs updating and for £21 it’s overpriced but there are fewer and fewer safe HGV parking options around these days.

Truck stop that charges £21 for overnight parking, the restaurant is very untidy tables strewn with empty plates and cups no showers included in the price, the food is left to be desired, would not recommend this truck stop at all, won't be stopping again.

Mediocre cafe. Nothing to write home about. Facilities poor. Harvester close by for reasonable meal. Parking spaces filled up early evening. Cctv and security patrol throughout the night. Better than a laybye just!

Don't what's changed to this previously great Cafe, but the good is undercooked or overcooked, there's hair in the food and there's rats running around all over the place. Not only that but they are closing at 7. Don't even bother

I have frequented Watling street cafe on dozens of occasions especially when i was a lorry driver. The food on our recent visit was as good as it always was.....rough n ready good truckers grub at a decent price with plenty of parking.Sadly there are not enough of these places left. This cafe is situated just off of junction 9 on the M1 and take the A5 for Dunstable and it is 300 yards up on the right.

Less than after a year of opening this place is in need of a refurbishment, the toilets have been stinky and out of date since day one, I don’t know if their kitchen or bar staff have their own toilet but if they’re using these toilets then don’t ever eat here. The Garden is a mess, weeds everywhere, a wasps nest that has been reported several times but is still there, stink coming from the toilets, old splintered furniture. It’s such a shame as it’s in a prime spot overlooking the water gardens and could be so much better and at £3:80 a pint cheapest then I expect better. They do have free WiFi, free jukebox and show sports on small televisions, also pool and darts but if people are playing pool and darts then you can’t watch TV. Sadly I believe this pub won’t be around much longer and is a great opportunity missed once again.

Our table was booked for 1pm, it wasn’t busy, we were given menus, but no offer of a drink. We must have waited for 10minutes with no sign of the only waitress coming over. I decided to go to the bar to order drinks, I was told someone will be with us soon to which I replied but they aren’t!! Finally our order was taken, food delivered, my friend asked for Parmesan cheese, but it never arrived. You had to put your hand up to get attention, no one came over to see if we were happy with everything. We asked for our bill, it was bought to our table and again we waited a good 10minutes, hand in the air to actually pay!!! Food was good, service absolutely appalling, goodness how they would cope if it was busy!!!
