Food very good...except for burnt cheese straws and pizza. Bread is lovely but wish they offered grain options. Definitely recommend thus well thought of little butchers. The only disappointment was the customer service especially on the phone...only one word for it - rude. Some training on how to answer the phone and how to sound less aggressive would serve them well.

Hot, fresh lovely staff and seen to as quick as possible. Would definitely return best butchers in town and for early morning nap before work!

Often have afternoon tea delivered and it’s great, well worth the money. All their products are delicious.

I ordered the pork and apple burger but I’m not quite sure what I got.. I don’t think it was this as I couldnt taste any apple and it had cheese tomato and lettuce on it

One of those places that once you’ve found it, you won’t live without it. For those after a bacon or sausage butty, they are quite possibly the best you’ll come across. Once they’ve got you hooked on those, you progress to the fresh meat section. Never disappointed, thoroughly recommended.

Ive been buying filled cobs /rolls, sausage rolls and cakes from Watkins for the past 30 years i even had my wedding buffet from Watkins . The food is first class and theyre butcher meat is of similar quality . Get there before 11.45 or youll be joining a very big queue to get served ,,,its worth the wait .

Went on Tuesday this week, as always need pork pies for ourselves and some for friends. We have been know to order 20+. Was very surprised to note that staff did not wear face masks, yes they would of been 2mtrs a way but they are breathing over the fresh food. But I did notice that there rolls were in covered bags.

Went for bacon, sausages and rolls to take on a boating holiday. Huge queue as always, but moving quickly as usual due to efficient staff. People being patient and spaced out in the queue outside (despite the rain!), a lady on the door keeping control of numbers and ensuring no one else had to touch the door. They even took orders from the queue and brought out food and people could then pay, so it moved even faster. Great quality bacon and the baps last for days. A local gem, and always popular.

there was no attempt to employ social distancing methods. No screens or protection for staff. Very poor

After being invited to a family party where Watkins have been asked to provide a buffet, we were disappoint to find a member of staff very unhelpful when we explained to her my dietary requirements - a dairy allergy! Not a choice but an allergy. We were simply told that Watkins cannot cater for such dietary requirements and not offered any alternatives. No effort was made to accommodate this requirement. I am therefore having to provide my own food at the party as eating dairy would make me ill. This has left the host feeling awful that they have invited me to a party where the caterers can’t actually ‘cater’ for me. Most places would willingly offer alternatives, Other outside caterers have managed to provide bread rolls without butter spread and a filling, what is so hard for Watkins to manage? I have never once had an establishment be so abrupt and unhelpful in their response.

No matter what you buy from Watkins it is always good quality tasty food, quiche are amazing! Pork pies perfect.Cannot fault anything, should have opened a chain of them

Their cold cuts including their truly flavoursome Haselet & quiches are delicious. The range of wonderful meaty meat & prices put Supermarkets to shame. Non recyclable food wrapping is minimal & is improving all the time. I for one will rejoice when the day comes when the plastic 'thin' is replaced forever by greeseproof. The queue out of the door at lunchtime is a huge indicator that Watkins filled, home baked bread rolls are hugely popular with the people of Grantham

Super local produce and not overly priced. Amazing pork pie and freshly baked bread... Love visiting the shop.

I have eaten Watkins rolls for years now and they are reliable value for money. The quality is always high the choice is always wide and the value for money always great. I am told that they regularly make in excess of 500 rolls a day including their famous selection of breakfast rolls (bacon, eggs, sausage and the famous BFB Roll).My favourite is the selection of lunch time rolls. Nothing is too much trouble for the counter staff. I have counted 15 counter staff at lunchtime which means queing and waiting is cut to a minimum.

Amazing quality of food and very good value for money . Filled cobs, cakes hot breakfast cobs are brilliant. Even the fresh meat is great value for money.

If you live in or near Grantham and haven’t had one of their sausage sandwiches then you have been missing out. In fact I can heartily recommend the bacon as well. The prices are great as is the quality as proven by the queues out of the door.

There's not much to recommend Grantham these days, crowded, shabby and pretty depressing and don't mention the traffic. Watkins is a rare shining light. High quality food, good prices, fast service even when its busy.All the food is excellent.Ham salad bap/cob is around £1.25, a lot of the cakes are around 50p. Hot bacon, sausage and egg bag/cob is around £2-20 One of my favourites is the hot pork and apple sauce bap/cob witih gravy...costs around £1.70/80 and you get a Sunday lunch quantity of pork (served after 11:30am)...can be messy to eat though.The Butchers side is just as good, I love the Chinese style rack of ribs.Parking is a bit of a nightmare...as it is in Grantham in general, but you can be lucky and get a spot right outside..but then it's not always fun trying to get out of the space.

What can you say? Sheer Excellence from their meat, pastry, hot food, buffets, no comparison! Had the buffets for special occasions, have the breakfast baps every week, try to minimize my addiction to the mushroom quiche and scotch eggs. Love the place, long may it reign!

This butchers shop is must visit when in Grantham Their quality,service and efficiency are commendable. They also offer a very good 'take away snack facility'. If you like pork scratching you have no need to go elsewhere

Ask any resident of Grantham if they’ve heard of Watkins and they’ll say yes, brilliant local butchers/cake shop. They have everything from breakfast cobs (rolls, baps etc) to cake. The shop usually has a long que but don’t be put off as the staff are very efficient and the que will disappear in no time, a big que is a sign of how well regarded Watkins is

Food is really good value and you are served quickly; don't let the long queues put you off! The food provided for buffets is of a good standard although I would advise to order for more people than you actually need.

I have been coming to Watkins for years now and it is unbelievable value for money. In a world where prices continue to rise it is nice to know that some places still exist that look after you.

We have been using Watkins for some years now and the quality and consistency of their products would be very hard to beat. Just walk in any time and the number of customers queuing for meats and prepared rolls tells you that this is the premier place for quality.

For a take away breakfast that leaves all the other chains in the cold! Try their Sausage egg and bacon roil - its loaded and freshly cooked with quality ingredients at an amazing price. There will be a queue as all the local know it!
