Situated in Watersons bookshop this coffee shop has a good range of snack foods and soups. Service is quick and hot foods will be brought to your table. I had Lentil soup which was delicious and had a nice peppery kick which was unexpected - truly satisfying. Served with two slices of a lovely brown bread and butter it was a meal in itself. Add a nice cup of latte and a packet of hand cooked crisps just set me up for a afternoon Christmas shopping. Nice place which was Covid secure. Whenever a table was vacated, a sign was placed effectively putting it out of service till fully sanitized. Wish others would follow suit.

Buying book for a present and decided to try the coffee shop as we had not been before. Are we glad we did! The staff were polite, helpful and courteous. They also all wore masks which we very very much appreciated! The whole place was just, comfortable in that, it was all kept very clean and tidy. I have OCD and in this place, I did not have trouble finding a place to sit. Comfortable Air-Conditioning. When you take your mask off, you get that lovely smell of books as a bonus. The coffee, not just pretty to look at but also lovely to drink. We had a cappuccino and a flat white. Cannot comment on the cake though as we have not tried that. Maybe next time when we back. The only thing was I did not feel that the tables were spaced far out enough to maintain good social distancing but then that’s maybe just me. The tables are actually spaced out. The customers there are all quietly talking anyway, none were loud and boisterous so, I suppose it’s okay. Just like being in a library really. Thanks to the staff for keeping us all safe!

Superbly made coffee, lovely cakes, and you can sit and browse books too. The tables are cleaned as soon as someone finishes, so there are always clean, clear tables to use. Very friendly staff.

I called in today on my own for a quick coffee break.I usually go with a friend. The cafe was busy but the friendly staff always acknowledge their customers with a smile. They also are very good at offering help to carry your tray. My Latte was made with care and a perfect pattern on top. I love the Christmas flavours but confess the amoretto one is my favourite and it goes perfectly with an Almond crossant or biscotti. This is our go to cafe in Milton Keynes shopping centre.

Having been for an appointment earlier, I walked into Midsummer Place and needed a sit down and some sort of refreshment. What a brilliant combination; coffee, food and books! My ideal place. Just love browsing the books and then a relaxing break. The staff are friendly and actually ENGAGE with their customers! What is going on? Some places have staff that just do not really care, or, at least, that's the impression, and certainly don't give you eye contact or bother to even speak. Is it the internet and social media generation which is responsible for the lack of conversation? Never mind. Beware, retail outlets, food, clothing, books or whatever. If you want to retain customers or increase sales, just put the human touch back into your business and make it a unique experience, and things should improve. I had a really nicely made and presented ham and cheese toasty, arriving at my table really swiftly after it was ordered, a super-special latte, one of the best I've had in quite a while, as well as an almond croissant, one that didn't dissolve in a shower of crumbs when I bit into it which usually happens with these usually delicious food items. Pleasant surroundings, clean and tidy, the tables are cleared regularly and NO LOUD intrusive music blaring out and killing conversation and totally unnecessary in my opinion. I shall definitely be returning. Just try to keep me away!

I knew Waterstones had a Costa but hadn't been in for some time so was surprised to find a small coffee shop just near the entrance. They had a small menu of snacks, pre-prepared rolls, the usual tea/coffee offerings, and a very nice selection of cakes and cookies at a reasonable price. The assistant behind the counter was friendly and very helpful and served us promptly. I had tea, a toasted cheese and marmite bap (you either love it or hate it... and I love it! :-)) and a caramel cookie, all of which were very nice, and my daughter had a cappuccino and lovely slice of lemon cake which she said she enjoyed. It's a small cafe tucked in the corner to the left as you enter the shop but is very nice, and a quiet retreat to escape from shopping! I will certainly be calling in again.

Had a business meet up with 2 colleagues 2 of us had food. The mixed grill was well worth the money and the beer prices were good. Very different clientele from usual Weatherspoons establishments and very safe environment. There are some places where you would not take your eyes off your stuff but here totally different place. Well done and we'll worth a visit.

A pleasant enough cafe with a slightly designer-minimalist atmosphere. The previous cafe inside the same Waterstone's bookshop was a COSTA one upstairs surrounded by all the nice books. The new one is downstairs and just happens to be in the entrance to a bookshop where most of the books (not all) are upstairs… Presumably fewer people go upstairs now?

Decided to have a coffee here when visiting the bookshop. Two members of staff beavering away and dealing with a longish queue. No messing, very efficient yet able to give a truly personal service. We had a tea, served in a decent teapot - none of your cheap metal poor pouring types you normally associate with coffee shops. The filter coffee was in a decent sized cup and was excellent. I often find UK cafes selling filter coffee produce a mediocre or super strong, bitter drink but not here. The dark blend was very tasty without overpowering. For food we had the most beautiful tasting lemon sponge and a huge Danish whirl. Both items were perfect. Large maybe but light enough for you to finish it without leaving you bloated. The best part of the visit was the staff. Despite being busy, the girl serving us offered to carry the loaded tray to wherever we were sitting (which we graciously declined) but on sitting down we realised we hadn't obtained a knife. Going back to the counter, I was given an apology (not her fault to be honest) and told she would bring one over - which she did. A lovely experience thanks primarily to the people serving. Will certainly be back.

A small and cozy coffee shopnattached to Waterstones Book shop serves a small variety of cakes, muffins and sandwiches. Unfortunately the cash tills fro the book shop a rather close to the ordering counter for the coffee shop and this should be changed. Was better when Waterstones counter was situated near the door across the shop. However the snacks and coffee are nice and staff very pleasant.

This small coffee sho on the ground floor of the CMK Waterstones is a very well run little outfit. The staff are welcoming, the place is perfectly clean and tidy, and the coffee is pretty much spot on. The snacks and such are tasty, and you can read in peace. Head here for a breather when shopping- grab a book or two in the process- and, folks, you won't be disapointed.

This is a lovely place for a coffee nice and peaceful in the busy MK centre. The usual cakes cookies etc small but cosy after a very nice refurbishment. It's def worth a visit and a nice change from the usual Costa and Starbucks

What an improvement - newly refurbished and rather eclectic mix of retro and modern. Massive range of decent tea and well stocked for coffee and cake. Biggest pleasure arises from staff who are pleasant, welcoming and knowledgeable. Lovely alternative to nearby high street chain coffee shops

An alternative to the monopolised coffee market where you can get a better cup of coffee served by staff that care.

Visited MK, saw this new, bright coffee shop, so popped in for coffee. Nice change to the usual "brands", friendly staff great coffee, would have given 5 stars if they'd had Soya milk.

Service is a bit on the slow side, but the coffee is worth waiting for and the pastries are good. Stylish décor with some comfy seating. It merges into the book selling area, so you can grab something to browse while your enjoying your chosen beverage, but be warned, if you are anything like me you will end up buying whatever it is you are reading, which I guess is their evil plan

Visited this coffee shop shortly after it opened and glad to see a coffee shop back in Waterstones. Coffee was good and ground freshly when we ordered which I was very happy to see. Clean and friendly place. Cakes looked fresh and good. Lovely small teapots for tea drinkers, rather than a tea bag hanging from a mug.

Was lucky to discover this on their opening day. Quiet, relaxed setting, bright and airy. The coffee was excellent. They serve Tea pigs too and the cakes looked great. I had the banana cake which was moist, delicious and rather large portion (not complaining! lol) and a flat white which was perfect. Staff were friendly and clearly passionate. Happily would return.

This café is excellent. We went for breakfast on two days when we were staying nearby. The staff, especially HOLLY were super friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend and thank you for being there for us. My dog was made to feel very welcome too. It was also easy to park

Went to The Cock Inn for lunch, staff were really friendly and the food was very good, especially the Fish and Chips. It was a bit quiet with only another table in there, but we enjoyed our time there.

If you want positive vibes, great service and even better coffee, definitely visit Bogota - the best coffee in Milton Keynes can be found here. Though I didn’t get to try any food, it all looked delicious.
