A delightful gem we stumbled upon while passing through town, The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The menu was surprisingly extensive, and the food quality was exceptional. Both the staff and patrons alike had a genuine friendliness that added to the overall charm. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

The meal was satisfactory, and I was grateful for the vegan and gluten-free options. The service, staff, and atmosphere were also adequate. Overall, everything was good. It was also very hot within the pub.

Lovely atmosphere and ambience. Wasn't busy but a week day night and the gentleman who served us had time to chat! We ordered the bread to share for a starter. For the main course I ordered a Greek type chicken kebab dish that I cannot spell!! My husband ordered sausage and mash from the chef's special menu. All were served fresh and just so tasty. Will definitely be going back.

Beautiful pub great vegan selection a whole vegan menu too. We had burger & chips was very tasty & well put together. Like the cleanest pub I've ever been in so fresh, great service & atmosphere. Nice music. Beautiful views. Good prices. Really really appreciate the vegan options as Olney wasn't as accommodating but glad it lead us here to this great pub. Very well run definitely will come back again when in the area really want to try their vegan Sunday roast. Thank you for being great hosts & having so many vegan options even desserts. Everything was delicious!!

The managers/ hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. The environment was wonderful and relaxing. The food and service were excellent, hot, very tasty and good value.

Such a shame, travelled from Somerset for my wife to meet up with ex work colleagues, annual get together. Inside very pleasant, welcoming staff. Unfortunately, we were a group of seven, booked well in advance. When it came to ordering food this is when it disappointed, no Steaks or Fish, this was a Thursday evening 1915hrs, not late. We would have expected some Restaurant planning, appreciate Restaurants need to minimise wastage but this is the Weekend Eve so to speak, I am sure Steak and Fresh Fish would have been consumed on Friday. Shame, as long journey, expectation was for quality Pub fair.

I had the white bait as a starter, a tiny portion for the money and taste it as though the oil needs to changed used to eat not so sure now

Amazing Vegan Lunch. It is rare to find a place that does amazing Vegan food but Chester Arms smashes it all the time. The price is a bit high but it's fully worth it for the quality of the food.

My absolute favourite spot for a vegan roast dinner. The portion sizes are generous and they really put the effort in with the cauliflower cheese and tasty meat alternatives. The Yorkshire puddings are an excellent touch too. Price is a little high but you really get what you pay for here.

Had another fabulous meal at The Chester Arms yesterday. The food and the service is 10 out of 10 every time. Fantastic selection of both vegan and gluten free options. My favourite place to eat.

Nice country pub with excellent food

A very pleasant dining experience here for a Friday evening meal. Very welcoming and friendly service. Delicious food with a good variety of drinks. We were sharing a selection of bread (with 3 varieties) served in a bamboo steamer as a starter. The bread tasted very fresh and well toasted. For mains, I had the chickpea tagine with basmati rice. The spices in the tagine were spot on. Very delicious and filling. Another half had the pie of the day with mash and seasonal veg. The portion was very generous. Not to mention that they got a wide variety of vegan options in the menu too. The vegan paella is an eye catching one. Would definitely try that next time.

Unplanned random stop for lunch on the way to Cotswold. I had homemade steak, bacon and mushroom pie whilst other half had the souvlaki. Both delicious. Friendly hosts, great service.

One of the best pub's I have ever visited in Milton Keynes. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that my friends and I were well taken care of throughout our visit. The menu offered a great selection of drinks and food, catering to all tastes. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

We had a drink and something light to eat, white bait and mixed olives. The service was spot on and the food was very good. We intend to go back and have a starter and main meal.

Many different vegan options to choose from. I had roasted aubergine and red pepper dip with bread to start and 'chicken' souvlaki for main. Sadly too full for a dessert so just a very tasty espresso for me! I honestly thought there was a vegan in the kitchen as the food was done so well with a lot of thought and effort made. Definitely want to return and try something else!

Wow, wow, wow! That’s all I can say. This is my first visit in a long while, and the experience was memorable from start to finish. I needed a local place for a hastily-arranged business lunch today, and The Chester Arms was conveniently still serving lunch at 2 PM. There’s a fresh new menu and it’s a perfect blend of pub classics and interesting alternatives. We had halloumi and calamari starters which were beautifully cooked and ideal portions. For mains we both opted for the slow-cooked pork belly which was simply sublime. The table behind us had a souvlaki dish and commented that it was superb, they even called out the chef to compliment him. Dessert? There was barely any room but we were having such a good time, we felt greedy so we shared a clementine and chocolate crème brûlée which was a novel take on one of my favourites - it works! The Chester Arms has always been a cosy and welcoming local, but with the new menu and the attentive and welcoming approach from our waitress Jenna and the staff behind the bar, it seems to have upgraded to “the next level”. I can’t wait to bring the family for a Sunday roast. Well done, Chester Arms!

Delicious vegan options, the souvlaki vegan option is absolutely tasty and fresh. Tomato soup starter is simply Devine, pear crumble for desert delicious and fresh. Great atmosphere and lovely staff, favorite place to go on Sundays now. Thank you

Great good gluten free options but unfortunately I found a short straight dark hair in my food (a dog or short males hair) and when I notified the waitress she apologised but didn’t offer to replace with a new portion… Due to the hygiene issue I doubt I would return for food.

Food excellent, freshly cooked and lovely and hot

I went with the family for my birthday meal, for a Sunday lunch. We all had roasts which, the meat could only be described as dry and stiff. The veg was ok. My mum received a call the day before to say we only had a 1hour 30 minute time slot, which if we had know that was the case with ample notice we would have booked elsewhere. We felt hurried along throughout the meal as there was another table in at 2pm, coupled with having toddlers, if you have them you will know this is impossible. Luckily the other one was asleep. I asked when we got there if I could order our 3 year olds roast straight away to get her going, unfortunately I was told by the waiter that it would be ‘easier for us’ if we ordered all together. When ordering deserts we were reminded we had to hurry as there was another table coming in at 2pm. Drinks were removed from the table at the end of the meal half full whilst we were still drinking them. No time for coffee and a relax afterwards. Overall the whole experience felt very rushed, the service whilst polite was intense, my wife felt like the waiter was hanging over her shoulder. Lastly, the food was completely below par, borderline one of the worst roasts I have had.

Went for a meal with my sister in law, who is dairy free. Had previously had loads of vegan and allergen options, which is why we had chosen to come again, but this time found the menu vastly reduced. When she asked for an allergen menu, she was told to just let them know, and they would make whichever option it was dairy free. Initially, the meal she ordered she was told could not be made dairy free, so she order two starters instead. When one arrived, she confirmed verbally that the butter was dairy free. Despite this, she had a horrific allergic reaction after eating, was sick several times, and had to have days off work to recover as she was crying on the floor in pain. DO NOT eat here if you have an allergy, they WONT accommodate you properly! She could have been hospitalised! The fact that they couldn't provide an allergen menu was outrageous! A shame, as previously had very good experiences here

I took my sister here for a birthday lunch. It was my favourite place for a long time but I stopped going last year after a couple of disappointing experiences. It was definitely an improvement on the last visit, but I'm not sure I'd make the trip on a very regular basis. The vegan options are fantastic, but I feel almost £20 for my Sunday roast (see photo) is expensive, as nice as it was. Biggest disappointment was being charged £9 for a prawn cocktail that my sister couldn't eat as it had so much paprika on that it was burning her mouth. We were told there was nothing wrong with it, it was purely her taste, and that it says on the menu that it's got paprika on. We checked the menu on the way out and it's actually not mentioned. We had our desert as takeaway because they needed the table back, and £9 for a very small brownie was also poor value. It's a shame as this is the only place I've found to offer proper vegan alternatives, but service is as important as the food to me.

I have given 5 stars for food,service and Atmosphere but was disappointed with my prawn cocktail has it had Hot paprika on top which burnt my mouth , doesn't mention on the menu so i sent it back and they still charged me. They said there was nothing wrong with it just my taste. But i would not of ordered it if it said it had paprika on it. And still would not take it of my bill. However the Sunday Roast was amazing. Brownie is very expensive for a very tiny square.

Easy to find and a good car park. We went for lunch at 2pm on a Saturday. For the duration we were there, there were only 4 other customers. The pub and food were nice, just not great or 'special'. I would be very happy to go back again if invited and would be happy if it was my local, but I wouldn't make a trip there specifically.

First time here , beautiful place , very clean . Staff very helpful, very polite. Food amazing , very good quality. Steak pie full of beef, haddock beautiful.Wines and ales very good . Will definitely be back , totally 5 stars 🤩🤩

So disappointed in the menu change. done research and booked so myself and my gluten free partner had multiple options to eat. When we arrived we sat down looked at the menu and I asked where all the gluen free pub style food had gone. Ribs ect to be told there is a new menu. The gluten free options had be reduced and the rest wasn't applying. Also going out to dinner is a treat to enjoy something different. Offering gluten free people fish and chip and sausage and mash Is lazy. That's basic food that you can get anywhere. We booked here as my partner catered for by the multiple options you previously offered.

We were a party of 8 that had pre booked. From arrival we were all impressed with the service and friendly welcome by all the staff. The bar staff managed our order well, the waiting staff were attentive. They even lit a fire for us to make the tower room cosy. All the food was amazing, tasty, hot and served at the same time. The range of food was great for everyone, with vegan and gluten free options available. We had a wonderful time and being in our own private room helped with people in our party who have hearing aids or are harder of hearing. A lovely meal and a great place to enjoy great food, lovely company and fantastic service.

The young waiter Shaquel was charming, funny and an excellent host, they had run out of chicken burgers, but the food we had was delicious with good size portions. Will definitely be back

Lovely waitress who spent most of her time apologising. Four of went for lunch and , after several attempts we did all get meals but not what we wanted.

We're down from Leeds on a training course and are staying in a hotel opposite. We called in here for some food and few drinks. Very nice little pub with a really nice country feel to it. Food was absolutely beautiful highly recommend to anyone thinking of trying this place. Very friendly and pleasant staff.

Myself, 3 friends and our dog came here for a post long walk dinner and it was the best choice! It's not often you can find a nice pub that can cater for gluten free and vegan but also with lots of normal options too! The menu was very well laid out with labels and plenty of options for everyone. We were made to feel very welcome and it was generally a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing food, I had a vegan souvlaki and my husband had a steak which was perfectly cooked. Friendly environment and we would like to thank Ranjit for being such a good host opening the chimney with open fire, this made the atmosphere to feel like home. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I organised a reunion party of 14 persons and it was held at the Chester Arms Chicheley. Food was very good, chosen from their traditional Sunday Roasts. Service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff. Good selection of drinks. Both food and drinks reasonably priced. Overall a highly recommended venue.

What a disappointment. Was looking forward to a meal here having passed it several times. To say we were underwhelmed is an understatement. My husband's steak and ale pie had just 2 pieces of meat in it, and was so cold we sent it back. The replacement took a long time to come and we could hear the microwave beeping in the kitchen! My roast lamb was slightly better with a nice selection of veg, but the roast potato's were flavourless with no texture. The service was very uncomfortable and we were presented with the bill - without asking- as soon as we finished our main courses. When we mentioned this had made us feel uncomfortable, the member of staff just laughed. Overall, we were very disappointed, and won't make a return visit.

Great service, comprehensive menu of pub favourites. Bar area was a but noisy but didn't detract too much from the meal. Servings are massive.

Lovely lunch with friends, our second visit to this pub for a Sunday roast and we were just asa pleased as the first time. Great food, very reasonably priced and very good service. Didn’t catch his name but the hound man who greeted and seated us, was there the first time as well and his friendliness and service was fantastic without being overbearing. Comfortable with a good range on the menu that also meets the needs of many different dietary requirements.

Our first visit to this lovely pub. The food was delicious and the young girl serving was a delight, helpful and friendly, felt very welcome. Even our dog was given a tub of treats. Looking forward to our next visit.

Went out for lunch with work colleagues. All three of us ordered a burger and we all thought it was dreadful - dry bun, dry meat with strange tasting paste on top. Waiter asked us how was it and we told him what we thought. He said he’ll pass on the message to the chef. No sorry, no bill reduction. Won’t be returning.
