Waters Edge in Medway

Came in with a friend and our children after a game of bowling. We were served by Natalie at the till, she was really helpful and friendly! Leonine brought our food out, lovely and friendly. Food was all really nice, children all enjoyed themselves.

Had a really lovely meal had bogof burgers went with my mum and daughter. The staff are so lovely and amazing nothing is too much trouble. We were served by Natalie and Leonie.

Had a fantastic meal this evening. Food was nicely prepared and we experienced outstanding service from Michelle! Thanks again for recommending we add on a pudding it was fab!

Staff at the waters edge are fantastic would highly recommend a visit! I always come with my daughter for a meal, and made to feel very welcomed ☺

My grandaughter of 20 years had a meal here last night. However, she was sick all night after eating chicken wings. The chicken inside the breadcrumbs was slimey & not fit for consumption. Unfortunately she had already eaten part of a wing. Also, when being taken to her table, the young waitress slapped her hand onto the table & walked away saying "cutlery is over there" whilst pointing!!!. The table was all sticky which showed it was unclean!!

We went for Sunday lunch last Sunday and was very disappointed, the place looks like it could do with a refurb, all the chairs are different and it feels grubby, the tables were sticky. The food was not great either, I had the beef which was grisly the cutlery is poor the knife could not even cut through my Yorkshire pudding, my wife had the turkey which was obviously a processed turkey roll and tasted absolutely disgusting, she was unable to finish it. They advertise generous portions but not what I would call generous.

Great survice zoe food lovely and great prices and deals when visiting working away up in rochester.

First time at this restaurant and it definitely won’t be my last. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were beyond amazing. Especially Clare and Zoe, they were awesome they went above and beyond to make sure me and my son had a brilliant dinner. I would 100% recommend the restaurant if you want good food, good service and a good atmosphere.

GRIM! You pay for what you get, so food was probably reflective and ok from that perspective. Grubby place, dirty sticky menus and bar. Abysmal service - no care taken what so ever. Staff didn’t know the difference between vegan food and gluten free food and didn’t particularly care either. Main menu not highlighted with GF so no consistency with labelling. It’s a harvester/school dinner type experience - again, pay for what you get, so that’s to be expected. Definitely will never return.

Absolutely shocking, turned up and got turned away because it was “bookings only” even though the place was dead empty, staff could barely be bothered to leave the bar and tell us. Went outside, booked a table walked back in 15 minutes later after being told no space because of other bookings. Tables sticky and mediocre wait for food. Kept turning people down the whole night because of bookings however the place was completely empty the whole night. The staff weren’t very helpful or good, felt a sense of if you don’t know the place/staff then don’t bother. Got told they had ran out of 2-pint glasses even though we were one of the only people inside so there was no chance of “running out” Staff just seemed unbothered and rude, food was bland. Also told that there was no roasts available and out of stock to only see multiple tables then receiving a roast dinner!!! Pathetic and not worthwhile, only thing was the burger was decent. Mash and Pie was dry as a desert, peas cold and hard. Won’t bother again.

Took 20 minutes to take order, my wife rang me while I was ant the bar as she thought I’d ran away from here! and 30 minutes of waiting for the food had to ask for refund as going to miss movie over the road. Massively understaffed for a Saturday night and the one bar staff did what she could, please have more staff for busy day so my dinner doesn’t end up being a bag of popcorn instead of what I ordered!

Such a great place to eat, food is always tasty and the staff really go above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, also it's great to go somewhere and the parking is still free!

Disappointing restaurant located within Medway Valley leisure park near Stroud,Kent. Quite a large restaurant but sadly lacking any soul. The pub is run by Greene King and does have some great offers on food and also drinks. I ordered nachos which were cold. Normally nachos are warm with melted cheese. The tortillas were home made but big and fiddly to eat but tasted ok but far from the best I've had. The main meal also arrived before I had finished the starter, if the staff had checked back then they would have seen it was too early to prepare my main. The cheese and bacon burger was ok but not great, clearly a cheap burger and the fries were overcooked. I left quite a lot of it but the waitress who collected my plate didn't seem to wonder why I had eaten so little of it. I have not been to this restaurant for a few years as my family and I previously had a poor experience, sadly it doesn't seem to have improved . Parking is free and there is plenty of room, the car park is shared with other leisure businesses on the park. There is a kids menu so it's ok for families. Sadly a family with very poorly behaved children who kept running around and shouting and screaming didn't help the experience.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with my friends and family celebrating a birthday. Staff were all very attentive and friendly, always on hand when needed. Great atmosphere, can’t fault anything in my experience at the Waters Edge!

Food was excellent, didn’t like being sat in the children’s area as 3 adults and I had booked, one daughter left her food as the noise was to much, didn’t get dessert, to noisy

Firstly the toilets 🤢🤢 strong ammonia smell doors broken dirty disgusting clearly not cleaned regularly. Food not great at all sunday roast was not even hot was warm reheated mash was poor standard kids meals not great either . Glasses piled up on bar side waitress even smashed A few as no space on bar 1 person serving left people waiting for some time . Very poor food and standard wont be returning

Just went to this place for a quick drink with my wife .stood at the bar with another three customers queuing .waited 10 mins with two men serving and we were all totally ignored , not even an acknowledgment of our presence, we just left .one star only because it was dry inside and raining out.

Food was terrible, felt sick to the stomach all evening. Overpriced, undercooked disgusting.

I was in Strood with my wife picking something up and she suggested we go out for lunch as we were already out and about. She suggested the Waters Edge as we were close by. When we got to the restaurant it was virtually empty and we waited by the door, as the sign instructed, to be seated. 10 minutes later and having had a member of staff walk right past us, and the two behind the bar making eye contact, with no acknowledgment whatsoever, we decided to leave and take our business somewhere else local. I'm not normally one for writing reviews, but in a time of financial hardship and with pubs, restaurants and other businesses closing and go bust on a weekly basis, if you treat customers like this, you can see why. Some serious customer service training is lacking in this place. Plenty of other lovely local places to eat, so don't subject yourself to this one.

Went for dinner here today, was very disappointed 😞, my partner orded hand batterd fish , chips the meal was very small for an adult the fish was so thin like in a breadcrum seen more fish on a fish finger it was not what they say it is. I orded hunters chicken again disappointed had 2 lumps of chicken with bq sauce just squirted on top no cheese & no bacon total waste of money.

Went here for dinner today service was OK my meal was an insult , I ordered hand batterd fish chips , the fish was a joke. No way was the fish batterd and so thin chips was cold portion very small for an adult, my wife's meal was the same very poor standard . The opposite table from us was very loud and 3 of them was smoking vapes and no one said a word , definitely not going there again.

So disappointed with this place as i had heard great things so we gave it a try! First visit last week on a Sunday very busy as expected and a long wait for food but no worrys when we got our food it was all overcooked and dry, steak was suppose to be medium rare but well done, Sausages dry and rock hard - Emailed the restaurant twice and they never bothered to reply to me, We love going bowling so we went again today and thought we would give them one more try, food arrived luke warm, mash was microwaved to death and tough, yorkshire pudding was awful it was either not cooked or freezer burnt it was rock solid - Table over from us had the same issue, The waiter did offer us free dessert to say sorry but we had bowling booked so we could not stay. Really let down by this place!

Been sitting here waiting well over hour for our food. Clearly not enough staff. Toilets are 🤢 door locks don't work. Tissue paper stuffed in lock hole. Shame as the food was actually nice

Met the wife and kids down the hungry horse, we went for the fingers and they accommodated us perfectly as we wanted sauces separate, me and my partner are in love with the Chinese sauce! To follow we had the monster breakfast burritos which were very filling! Normally we cook a roast at home but it was nice to be cooked and waited on by the lovely staff!

Had a great night with my friend, Jamie Zoe and Karoline and Shannon were really helpful and the prices were reasonable. Nice night and evening out. Would defo recommend

A poor experience. Waited at the “please wait here to be seated” sign for ages before approaching a member of staff who showed me to a table (I had booked). Drink arrived promptly, delivered without a word by the waiting staff. Starter fine. Main course arrived; meat undercooked, chips and onion rings cold. I took it back to the bar. And waited. And waited. Finally, went into the kitchen to find a staff member who arranged for the meal to be re-cooked. Second time around meat was much better. But the chips and onion rings were cold again; how can they get it wrong twice? Just very poor. And please don’t be fooled by the apparently concerned and helpful reply to my review. I did email them but they didn’t respond.

Waited a while to be seated even though it wasn't busy ,staff see us waiting but said nothing as if it wasn't there job ,other than that was very nice ,food was served quickly staff were good

Wouldn't recommend going here unless you want to wait over an hour for food, wasn't overly busy either, and the food weren't that great, was slightly warm, but the kids was too hungry to send it back after such a long wait. Really disappointed.

Best service I loved the positive attitude of our server Michel/Shardae they were very welcoming to our shenanigans and even joined in at some point this was literally the best service I’ve ever had, food was the best I’ve had so far, the food was brought out on time and hot, best spot so far for celebrations. I would honestly recommend this to all my friends

Food was rubbish, the pie was so hard it could of broken the windows. Waste of money should have gone to the wetherspoons.

Waiting 40 mins for food to arrive. The food was cold. Return the food and 3 mins later, I was told they have cooked me a fresh meal. Wow don't think that's true. The chicken pieces were over cooked, and the batter was greasy. Staff not bothered

Stayed in Rochester just for one night. This was the nearest pub/restaurant. Not table service order at the bar, food was reasonable, portion size good, some of it was cold, already waited 40 minutes for it to arrive so didn't want an ongoing wait. Toilets OK, not blocked but paper everywhere. Not sure if the cleaning schedule was enforced. Overall OK.

Decent meal with great service and beautiful views. Will be back soon.

Oh my goodness, I can't stop raving about my experiences at the Waters Edge! From the mouth-watering food to the warm and friendly staff, every visit has been an absolute delight. I'm already planning my next trip back and can't wait to indulge in another delicious meal. Highly recommend checking it out!

Very poor quality control on the food about sums it up. I ordered the mixed grill which was probably the poorest out of the four dinners with no egg and no onion rings (no alternatives offered). Steak ordered rare was more medium to well done, gammon was solid and overcooked, sausages had to have a fork hammered in to pierce the skin, the pineapple was a dirty mess and the chicken was just about ok if I was cooking it myself but somewhere you pay to be cooked for, it's well below standard. Next meal was the burger and chips. The burger looked ok at best and was given a scattering of chips and two whole onion rings (cheapest thing in the freezer). This was from the main menu but looked like a kids portion. The 12oz steak was just about passable but by the flooded plate you can tell that whoever cooked it just doesn't care and has no passion for making food. Mac and cheese was ok, probably the best thing ordered. Desserts ..... If you can call what looked like a splat of crap sprinkled with various bits of half bars and maltesers dessert. Had to buy two to have a decent amount, both were poorly presented and minimal amounts given. Atmosphere ...... If you're looking for atmosphere be prepared for noisy screaming children and other parents who have given up on parenting. Went with my noise sensitive son, ear defenders on but after 25 minutes of screaming from a bit even nearby table, had to leave as the parents did f all to help the child. This is not directly the restaurant's fault but that family should have been told after 10 minutes to either parent their child or go. If your child is a screamer and going through teething then take them somewhere else like McDonald's or somewhere with a soft play. In a way, it helped have an excuse to leave half a plate of poorly cooked food behind. I don't think I'll ever go back as I can't recall a recent worse experience than here. Cutlery was grey with scratches, tables were tacky to touch. The lady who served was nice but her alone isn't a good enough reason to go back. Swerve this place would be my recommendation.

If i could put 0 stars i would. Took my girlfriend there for a valentines meal 14-2-24 we both ordered a full monty mixed grill came out with in 20 mins it was stone cold i asked for the steak rare and the other halfs midium rare but they was littery burnt, the saugages look like there from farmfoods (pack 50 for £2) worst part bout it didnt even get full refund. Before all this happened i went to loo the floor was soaked with piss nearly slipped over. Happy valentines

Ordered nachos and was surprised to find that they were deep fried flour tortillas and not corn tortillas. No check back from the waitress. When the plate was collected we told the waitress that it's wasn't good and got completely ignored! Went to the bar and ordered an apple JD and lemonade. After waiting for the bartender to get a new bottle she ripped open the plastic seal with her teeth!! So gross. Won't be coming back

Middle of winter and sat by an exit door..why would you put a table so close to a door that is used for entry/exit smokers etc?? Table dirty… food was cold..has to be-reheated.. no taste very average!!! Empty glasses left on tables when we had ordered new drinks… lack of staff … toilets absolutely disgusting!!! Won’t be coming back… not your usual green king standard

Came here on a Sunday for a roast, was asked at front of house if we had booked(we hadn’t - didn’t know we could) within a few minutes was taken to a table. Food arrived fairly quick, workers were friendly and the food was delicious. Would come again.

Very conveniently placed near the cinema and bowling center, this is a nice bar/restaurant to pop in for a meal. Very good value, different deals each day. From burgers to classic pub meals. The burgers are lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful.

If there's a table booked for adults with no children probably best you don't seat them in the childrens area, was super loud with the children shouting. Close to the loos though that was something positive. Food portions on a couple of plates could have been alittle bigger but we get food has gone up in price. It was a nice meal just alittle loud in the children's area.

Atmosphere was good for a Friday night / Saturday midday, food arrived promptly and all staff were accommodating. Korean BBQ Chicken and Mac & Cheese were so good!

A good plateful of food, and reasonably priced. Service was pretty quick. Only let down by noisy kids and grotty looking menu, which could have done with a good wipe.
