SO much improved since Paula & David have returned. Definitely on the way back up! Great choices for breakfast; nicely cooked and veggie options available if required. Super value, wonderful location by the side of the Lido.

Once again we cannot fault the waters edge not only for lunch but for breakfast or just a coffee/tea. All of the staff are exceptionally helpful, polite and go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your meal.

Visited this place for the first time and I cannot believe what service was received by Kieran who went above and beyond. We stopped for a spot of lunch and had a few kids with us which can make things very stressful but he made it all very calm by providing us with excellent service and changing the atmosphere completely as he distracted the kids whilst we got sorted and settled and I would definitely visit again. I had an amazing breakfast today with such great service from front of house Sarah and Desmond and on my way out I had a chance to thank the cook Trish for the lovely breakfast she made for us (we are picky vegetarians) We had issues with parking and Desmond was an absolute gem to help me with the issue. Can’t wait to visit again.

Usually a fast friendly service and good food. But on 30th April, staff were stroppy, five people were waiting to be served and 2 staff were watching the coffee machine. People actually commented that they could be better employed taking orders. I waited 15 minutes, without being acknowledged then a woman was served ahead of me. I left saying I wasn’t waiting **** 15 minutes to be served, and was told with my attitude good bye. Disgusting attitude. I was a regular here, but won’t be again!!

Desmond is always friendly and attentive. Always happy to help. A lovely lunch all round.

Had a lovely breakfast at the waters edge. I was served by a lovely man, Desmond. He was very chatty and definitely brightened up a Monday morning. The service I received was great. Atmosphere was nice, it was very quiet when I was there though. I didn't use the toilets so can't comment on those. I will be visiting again

I visit this place once a month. Perfect for a couple, a family with children or even a group of 10+. Great place, good atmosphere, reasonable prices, really good food

We go here most Saturday mornings and it’s excellent value for money. We walk the dogs at the lido and then grab breakfast for us and sausages for the doggies. Great coffee and always a friendly and welcoming face. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food was nice for the price but nothing amazing. There was a good selection but the staff weren't the friendliest and we're sticklers for some fairly silly rules e.g. you had to reuse the same plate of you went up for more of the all-you-can-eat breakfast.

A great spot for a walk and carvery. If driving, I recommend parking in the assigned car park and then registering your car on ipad (gives 4 hours free), giving you a chance for a walk around lido or playground visit. The carvery is best early on, as it gets busy, especially on weekends. Food is good and service is excellent, Ben is a top guy, and the team including Ben and Mike keep the place running smoothly and efficiently. I’d recommend the beef and seconds of veggies. Bonus: the gravy never ends!

my wife and her friend were customers, used the carvery + dessert - however it's the after service i wish to compliment....a parking notice arrived which puzzled us, I called 'Waters Edge', spoke with Amanda, said send in paperwork and receipt; as we live in Dorset I scanned to their email - later that day Amanda emailed to say notice had been cancelled with subsequent email from the 'Euro Car Parks' (could have been my wife had not realized she needed to 'log' her attendance. We are both pleased, relieved and a big shout out to Amanda.

We went there to drink 1 pint of beer. The staff were not at all courteous. They clearly stated that food can not be expected before 45 mins. I don't believe that chips in this country take 30 mins. This was really unfortunate and unexpected. One more thing we noted was that we ordered only French fries and got it after 30 mins. But another table ordered after me and got the food before us. I am not sure what kind of management it was? I was quite not happy with the kind of service

Great atmosphere and great menu with good prices

Unclear parking signage means they levy significant fines. @David, good to know you have no visibility as to the fines levied by EuroCarParks for the Water’s Edge car park. Potentially you’ve not driven into the car park to see how unclear the signage is from a driver’s viewpoint. The person immediately behind us did exactly the same thing.

Staff very helpful and attentive service is always good. Food very tasty and great portions price is reasonable too. I enjoy the carvery my favourite dessert is the sticky toffee pudding . Lovely place and highly recommend

I think management is not able to do justice to the infrastructure they have. Good was below standard and service was too slow. Even the place was quite empty. People and management are rude.

Manager doesn’t listen to the customers. Arrogant staff even poor treatment for kids. I could give 0/5 rating if there is an option.

Worst place to go with family. Felt bad and sad. Destroyed my self respect by the staffs. Very unprofessional in charge who doesn’t listen to customers. We were total of 5 members reached this branch of Stonehouse today morning for breakfast. We payed for 4 adults and we had tiffin from home for the kid. My niece who is 6 year old, unknowingly took a small plate from the counter and took two bread but we haven’t payed for her.The waitress came and took back the plate without asking and put back all the bread back to the counter in-front of her. She was crying and the waitress was murmuring with her. We went back to the counter for paying for the kid. I have reported this strange behavior to the manager of this branch. When we reported this to him, he didn’t listen to us and he didn’t accept the payment for the kid. He asked us to get out of the place and he was searching for the security. He took back all the dining plates in-front of us and said he will refund all our money. I am visiting this place for 6th time within Last two months, this is the first time I am receiving such a bad experience from this place. My niece who is 6 year old she is frequently asking her mom that why that waitress was so rude to me. I have raised the complaint but still no response from the team so far.

Bar staff seemed unhappy to be there which was a shame whilst being served. Probably down to how busy it was tbf. Good choice of meats including Beef, Gammon & Turkey. Food was hot and cooked to a good standard. Particular thanks are extended to both Dean (from the kitchen/serving area) & Amanda (bar/front of house). Both members of staff are a credit to the company and clearly enjoy the jobs they do. Keep up the good work and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Worst place to visit , since they dont get a lot of customers they make money by sending car park notices as they share car park with council . Amazing money making DISGRACE

Daylight robbery. The parking is very deceiving. For someone who has never been to that area before it’s not very obvious that the pub parking is separate to the lido parking when it’s literally in the same plot of parking. You think you are paying for parking for the Lido to find out via a Euro Car Parks ticket that you were actually parked in the pubs car park which is not the same as the Lido car park even though it looks like one single parking plot. The PayByPhone number was on the side of the ticket machine and that’s how I paid for the parking. No help from them on the phone, just totally brushed it off saying they couldn’t help or couldn’t appeal it even though I had proof that I paid a charge via the PayByPhone app. Unhelpful, and this is probably their way of making some extra money from hard working people. Would be interesting to see how many people have fallen for this scam and end up paying fines. Disgraceful and deceptive! Clearly have no morals. How about making it more obvious to people that it’s totally separate parking?!? Oh but I guess that would stop their side hustle so they can’t be doing that.

Went to the Watersedge this week with my family. Sarah served us and was very patient and helpful as I do have a fussy eater and nothing was too much trouble. She is a real credit to this restaurant! We have been here before and she’s always provided us with high quality service. I also went to the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and had an issue with my sons chicken burger and Adelina was very helpful and solved the issue very quickly and brought me out a replacement in a timely manner

I opted for the Salt and Pepper Deep Fried Mushrooms with a BBQ Dip The Main Course was the Roast. I went for the most succulent Turkey I've ever eaten, with a Saussage, Sage and Onion Stuffing, Garden Peas, Yorkshire Pudding and Roast Potatoes. I deliberately had no Gravy. The Turkey was moist. The Chef said it was slow cooked at a lower than normal heat and it showed as the Meat could have been carved with 2 Spoons and given to a young Child easily.

Firstly I would like to say as a mum of an autistic child going anywhere can give you anxiety before leaving the house, the constant judging of others as well as your child having meltdown can be overwhelming... we have had to leave many places within seconds of going in the door with staff just not understanding, that has NEVER happened at the waters edge. Myself and Archie have been coming to the water edge for years and I never have to worry about any of that. The staff are AMAZING. Archie is only 7 so would never eat a adults meal but he needs a adult size plate to feel the same. He needs to sit where it's quiet and he feels comfortable, Amanda and Charlotte have always gone above and beyond to help with smiles on their faces and never have I felt myself or archie was being judged. They are honestly amazing, food is always nice and it's somewhere where we always feel comfortable. We will be back soon x

It was a good place to go for a meal for Easter the barman Kieran had a laugh at me at the bar made it more inviting and sociable then just popping down to the local.

The carvery food was very nice and value for money. I do however feel that the queuing system for payment needs looking into especially when there is a large group as there was with us.

It's a shame this place can't sort it's carvery out! We have given this place a go several times because of its location and lake. But the Cavery is not worth having. Each time the food served is always dry,cold . Potatoes are absolutely disgusting. The veg is not edible and a watery tasteless Cauliflower cheese.drÿ Yorkshire which are chewy.The only thing worth eating is the meat. Staff seem uninterested about your comments and views.It will be the last time we ever eat here. Its a real shame. Will be going elsewhere.

Hi my brother and myself were visiting family in Ruislip and while out walking on two occasions visited the Lido. On completion of our ramble we had coffee in The Waters Edge cafe. We met Amanda and Charlotte, they were very welcoming, polite and helpful. We also met a gentleman, one of their partners who had moved with the present managers to this cafe. Very professional and pleasant and above all customer focused. We were very impressed.

Paula was our waitress and she was so friendly and nice. Made our experience much better. Thank you Paula

This is my usual go to. I recommend the waters edge to any one whether it be celebration or just a quite meal. The carvary has a selection of very nice food. There are lots of places to sit and it is clean. On this occasion I was particularly happy with my visit as a staff member, Paula, really made us welcome and went above and beyond to do this. She was so helpful and friendly. Thank you very much. See you again soon. I have visiting again many times. I always see a staff member called Charlott. She is always so happy, smiling and so friendly. A+ for Customer service. We were also served by Amanda who was very polite, patient and friendly. Another great visit. Thank you so much. Breakfast time is the best time. If you want to visit on a weekend, especially Sunday's, you have to pre book although there is not much advertising about this.

This place has so much potential but is clearly understaffed. Having a drink in this place is fine but anything more I would avoid and go to somewhere else. Food not the best, long waiting times for food to arrive, food orders being stopped (apart from carvery). Staff clearly rushing around and under extreme pressure. Longer than acceptable queues for drinks. This isn’t our first time here, we’ve been here plenty of times but it doesn’t seem to be improving.

Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff are great, special thanks to Trish who loved my Rottweiler. Very welcoming staff and dog friendly in the bar area with water bowls. Will definitely be returning.

The food quality and temperature was perfect. Unfortunately thee was an issue whereby all female toilets including the disabled facilities had become blocked which meant we had to use those by the pizza bar which was a struggle with a walker. Despite this, the staff took quick action to try to resolve the issue which should be noted.

The food was OK, service was very good. No atmosphere though and the toilets were really awful.

I rebooked a private area for my brother’s wake. Paula was superb, as were all the staff. Thanks David for making a tough day very successful.

I paid for 2 carvery meals, one dessert and 2 drinks. I was asked by the barman to request my dessert after my meal, which I did but to a different barman. 20 minutes later I saw the same barman with whom I requested my dessert before and he then accused me of not paying for the dessert, which I had on my initial order. Another 10 minutes passed and I decided that I would leave as I had waited 30 minutes in total for my dessert. On my way out I passed a waitress bringing my dessert. Disgraceful service and accusatory bar staff.

I specifically requested upon reservation a table for 3 people seated by the window. On arrival, I wasn't seated by the window and there were loads of tables empty by the windows. When questioned; the response was that they were reserved. All the tables by the window remained empty the whole duration of our visit. Not happy!

Carvery was good. Staff very helpful and pleasant. I had a party of 20 and all was well prepared for us. No complaints.

Me and my friend come here frequently! The staff are so so lovely specifically Desmond and Amanda who make our visit even more enjoyable and are very accommodating to my dietary requirements . The food is yummy and comes fast thanks to Trish.

Great value for money, good portions and tasty food! The kids prices are great. Lovely views of the lake and a well sized garden with a kids play area.

Food was good but vegetables were luke warm which meant by the time we’d finished our meal they were cold. Shame as it could have been a really good meal.

Another fantastic meal at the Waters Edge. Having eaten here quite a few times I can confirm that their food is always first class. The carvery is always a good choice. The owners, David & Paula, & all of their team are friendly & welcoming & always have time to chat & make you feel at home while in their pub/restaurant. Really enjoyable evening celebrating with family and friends for a private function. Food selection was great and really tasty as well as presented nicely. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. Venue was perfect size for us. Loos very clean. Would definitely book again. Very enjoyable evening.

Wifi was rubbish, so ordering the food took a while. We all had different types of meals and we were not told that the receipt for my carvery was on the drinks tray...one of the guys behind the bar got a little stroppy, when I explained we hadn't been told. Our empty plates were not removed when we were given our puddings... which was weird, and they didn't appear to be massively busy... but I guess we could have asked. I'm not sure that we will go back....but can see why people do.

Lovely carvery at a great price. Dog friendly area inside. Apparently you can’t book if you have a dog. Service was fantastic from Desmond at the bar he couldn’t have done any more to make our visit more special.

The service in the waters edge has improved immensely over the last few months . Amanda and Sarah have been Fabulous!! We are also looking forward to sampling the new menu on our future visits!
