Watering Can Cafe - Pulham Market in South Norfolk

Tomato soup tasted like sieved chopped tomatoes. Watery and acidic. The gammon in the sandwich was full of fat. Took me ages to cut it off.

Very helpful staff and had great patient’s with little boy who couldn’t make up his mind what to have in the lunch box they provided. He is 3 and had a great experience thank you

Breakfast was lovely, best we have had in a long time, the restaurant was clean and the staff were pleasant good value for money we had the watering can breakfast. Excellent thank you.

There was a clear sign notifying that no food was being cooked due to staff sickness. The staff instead were serving drinks, cake and other pre made food to compensate. The place still remains clean and whilst the wait was quite long, all the staff were working incredibly hard to keep on top of everything. Such hard workers. Well done. They all deserve a pay rise

Came here several years ago when it was fine. Last Sunday called in for late breakfast and the whole experience was appalling both food and service.

Good value and nice coffee. Scones awful, clearly from previous day. Very chewey. Pity as new environment also nice. Will not use again.

After not getting served at “Goodies” Up the road due to their no food rule between 11:30am and midday we came here instead !! Quick service / lovely staff great coffee and lovely scones with comfy outdoor seating we will be back. Goodies can keep their overpriced and pretentious service !!!!

Honestly thought this would just be a nice little cafe to stop in at, but couldn’t have been more wrong. To begin with the staff are rude. All we could hear was a lady with a German accent yelling from the kitchen. And Debbie, I think her name was had no time for us, and had incredibly dirty hands for someone who was touching our food. The coffee that were made for us were terrible, we had only asked for lattes, which as a barista myself is basic. The manager didn’t seem to care about his staffs behaviour at all. While our food was being made we could hear the microwave pinging every few minutes. They claim to be fresh, but this clearly isn’t the case. When our food arrived it was incredibly disappointing. No flavour whatsoever, not even heated all the way through. I guess it’s the case of not employing professional chefs. The actual restaurant was dirty, and not inviting. If I were you I’d give this one a miss and just get some crisps or something from the garden centre next door.

Went here with the family for a spot of lunch. Food was absolutely appalling and barely warm, let alone hot, as it should have been. Pie pastry was so hard I couldn't even break it, let alone cut with a knife. Had obviously been cooked and then reheated time and again. As a fully qualified chef of over 30 years all I can say is that their staff need to attend basic cookery lessons and a re-take of their food hygiene certificates! As for the quiche, another barely heated product that was not of a standard that even a greasy spoon would serve. Chips were under cooked and some of them were almost raw. Definitely NOT the type of experience we were hoping for, or expecting. Service was ok in terms of the waitress being polite but, apart from that, a dismal lunch that will not be repeated as we will not try there again. 2 of us (who had the quiche and the pie) have been up all night with upset stomachs. I feel very disappointed with the meal. Oh, and another thing, we asked for the veg that came with the pie be substituted for chips....... so, not only did we have the veg removed, but we got charged for it and extra for the chips???

Really lovely cafe. Very friendly staff and the food was lovely and great value for money. Great service, cannot fault at all. Highly recommend.

Nice tea break when shopping, good range of drinks and cakes the meal menu looked ok. Good range Christmas toys.

I honestly cannot understand why a green centre cafe would choose to remove the baby change. Mums and babies go to garden centres! No one sitting in a cafe wants to see a baby’s dirty nappy being changed on the floor but you leave no choice by removing it. Really selfish and thoughtless move cherry lane!! In addition to the rubbish facilities, our food came out wrong and took 20 mins stood in queue to be served!

Went to Cherry Lane garden centre with the family and popped in to the Watering Can cafe for lunch. My coffee, (caramel latte), was less than half a cup. Managed to finally get it filled up. The caramel syrup (£1 a shot) wasn't in it. Asked why I'd been charged for it without receiving it to be told "we are busy, you know.....!" She finally said she would put it in but, by that time a) the coffee was stone cold and, b) we had to leave so, I politely mentioned a place where she might like to put the coffee. Oh, and the Fish, Chips and peas we ordered...... the peas were stone cold and rock hard! Level of service was not much, to say the least and, whilst we all have bad days, when in customer service, the whole idea is, "customer service", not rudeness. Won't be returning.
