Wasabi in Oxford

This place is conveniently located on Oxford's main shopping street. Inside, there is plenty of seating on long benches and tables, and window seats with USB charging ports. There is plenty of food selection with both hot and cold options, cold drinks, and a few sweets. The pricing is very good - far better than itsu and yo sushi. You can eat well for around £7 with a drink which makes this an affordable option for a healthy and quick lunch or dinner. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This particular franchise has a very rude customer service. The sushi is nothing special. I would avoid this place for better restaurants right nearby.

The sushi was good, The chicken wings tasty but overcooked and a bit dry. i could make a better Katsu curry , which was in need of seasoning.

Place was understaffed, food was cold and staff were rude and unaccommodating despite speaking to a manager called Shivam.

Awful food, badly prepared. My three year old could whip up a better lunch out of play dough. Don’t bother.

Tofu Tom Yum noodle soup. Not enough tofu, not enough vegetables, too sour and acidic. The receptacle poorly designed for spooning the soup out of. Soup left unfinished. Overall, disappointing.

The pictures say it all. Also with only one toilet in a very busy high street I would at the very LEAST expect toilet roll. The literal street is cleaner!!!!!!

Had different variety of foods from the counter and everything was delicious.It wasn’t very busy on a sunday afternoon.We sat upstairs and it was quiet. You need to get the code for the toilet from the staff before you can use it. Well recommended!

GOOD: Food & drink (quality, taste, range)

We stopped here to grab a Bento Box each on the way to the Castle. Grabbed a vegan and fish version. Both were delicious. We were given the option of plastic cutlery or wooden chopsticks - we chose chopsticks. We would visit again. The place is clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is great.

We went there for lunch I ordered Chirashi zushi (rice with vinegar and sashimi on the top) which in general in Japanese there will have no salad.But this sushi salad was good because it had salad at the bottom of the rice vinegar and sashimi on the top of the rice. I found it tasty with some salad which I enjoyed a lot.

Faat food asiatico... prezzi medio bassi. Qualita media diciamo che per quel si spende é una pausa gradevole... il vero problema è l igiene dei tavoli e dell ambiente ma è un problema diffuso nei locali inglesi

Although the food is good, I find it hard accept the amount of single use plastic used by this restaurant.

Found this place when looking for a place to eat a quick dinner in Oxford. I'm in general not a big fan of sushi that comes in prepackaged boxes, who knows for long it has been sitting on the shelf? But this was surprisingly good for the low price we paid.

This shop provides amazing sushi, INCREDIBLE noodle pots, BENTO BOXES!!! All for great value! You can do a pick and mix box with any roll you desire! You can takeout, eat in (which has a great city atmosphere!) it’s just amazing!!!

밥이 먹고 싶을때 갈만합니다. 매장이 매우 청결해서 믿음이 갑니다. 매장취식과 포장 가격이 달라요. 연어초밥류들이 먹을만합니다.특별히 개성있거나 하지는 않고 매우 무난합니다. 다만 삼각김밥 내용물은 참치 이런거여도 굉장히 낯선 맛일수 있으니 주의하세요.

I've tried quite a few dishes there but their soups are the best. My favourite is chicken soup with gyoza - it is absolutely amazing considering the price. It tastes fresh, clean, and flavoursome. The vegan soup is second best. Both are of consistent quality too.

Our son was happy to find this brand restaurant in Oxford. He had already visited one in the past and he had a very good opinion about it. He liked this one very much, too. Smiling and polite staff. Good food. Highly recommended.

When it first opened it was great, however the rice (sushi) has progressively got worse with time. My latest takeout had a strange combination of gummy rice and even worse some grains were still uncooked in the middle. Shame really as the fish and other ingredients are probably the best of all the high street chains.

J'ai déjeuné plusieurs fois dans ce restau (aussi bien sur place qu'à emporter) et je n'ai jamais été déçu. Rien d'extraordinaire mais prix correct et rapidité grace au choix de repas dans des boites.

Was here a couple of times: great food, I love warm tofu dishes there, great seating area on the 1st floor. For fast food it's excellent!

The food is really good, I was surprised by the quality - compared to other sushi chains this one has quite a lot to offer. The price is reasonable, unfortunately the store is not very clean and encourages grabbing a quick bite rather than enjoying your meal - which is not surprising considering the price.

有名なチェーン店なのと、お米を食べたくて入ってみましたが・・・窓側のカウンター席に座ろうとすると、椅子が醤油の染みだらけ。別の席を探しても、結局どれも染みだらけ。しかも虫が何匹もいてどうも気になる。トイレは正直、用を足せるレベルではありませんでした・・・（イギリス基準は知っていますし住んでもいたのである程度は大丈夫なんですが）。その日はたまたま掃除が行き届いていなかったのか、謎です。

Food was ok, quick grab & go, affordable lunch. Service was poor though. More of a Tesco pay & go type of thing.

The food is brillaint, very fresh and authentic. They have a great variety of sushi, hot food, soups and other fresh meals such as salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki ECT. They have single sushi rolls so you can mix and match your box, and they have vegetable dishes. So plenty to choose from!

Stopped for a quick bite while sightseeing Oxford for the day. Expected to eat something tasteless but found that both mine and my husband's meals were very tasty and the portions are abundant. There's something for everyone's taste including vegetarian and vegan meals which are prepared regularly and fresh. No table service but staff is friendly.

We went to eat at Wasabi for lunch, we had sushi salmon and other seaweed roll. My spouse ordered fried Tofu salad and I also ordered chicken katsu salad. The food was so so not as good as itsu and the price to eat in was a little bit over priced. On top of this when we were there, there was only one table which was occupied after the customers left we asked the staff to clean the table for us. But they did not really pay attention to come right away even though they were not busy at all but chatting to each other.

There is a lot of food choices at wasabi, which I often find overwhelming but others would appreciate.

I used to eat regularly here, 3-5 times a week for lunch, and mostly the same dish each time: the chicken Katsu Curry in or Tofu Curry which I always enjoyed (despite it being a little too salty). Occasionally the chicken seemed a little undercooked. One day it was pink - I let them know and they exchanged it straight away for another properly cooked one. I switched to Tofu after that but it isn’t always available, they don’t seem to cook as much of it as the other dishes.

My two little grandchildren living in Oxford brought me, on a recent visit from Italy, in this modern and clean fast-food. We ate upstairs, near a lovely Japanese inspired zen garden. The children choices two sushi boxes, while I had a hot bent box of chicken katos curry. I did'nt know what wasabi means, and my grandchildren told me it is the name of a sauce of which they encouraged me to try an ample dose. I have learned at my expense that it is a mustard-like condiment, similar to cren, particularly spicy, which made me literally weep. Apart from this amusing accident, the meal was very enjoyable.

Part of a group visiting Oxford I was somewhat railroaded into having lunch here and against my first impression I really enjoyed it. It is fast food and although clearly Japanese/Asian it is easy to work out what was what (for beginners) and the prices were reasonable. All the food was tasty and although the restaurant is simple in design it proved ideal for our lunch. Certainly I would have no apprehension in visiting in the future.

Lo mejor que nos ha pasado después de una mañana de visita turística sin parar. Fabulosas neveras donde tienes muchos platos donde elegir. Si quieres que te lo caliente, según tu elección, pues lo hacen. Exquisito todo lo que probamos.

I usually go to this restaurant at least 3 times a week. This time I bought a tofu salad for takeaway, and I found a small piece of tissue in the food when I was eating. Disgusting. If this is the extra napkin they offered, I really hope it would be out of my food box and be larger. I will never consider wasabi as a good place to eat anymore.

I'm a regular customer and I love it. Nice, clean restaurant with great food and the quality is decent. Love the hot food counter especially the chicken katsu curry with chicken breast. However, it is a bit expensive for sushi and other food in the commercial fridge. Hope you will have the non-spicy option for pork/beef bulgogi soon!

Déjeuner au chaud et rapidement ! C'est ce qu'il vous faut... :) Cuisine sympa, boites au choix, riz, soupe, sushi, etc tout est permis ! J'y ai mangé 2 midis et il est possible de vraiment varier. Pour ma part, c'est un bon rapport qualité/prix. Vous pouvez tenter ;)

Went to Wasabi to grab some hot meals to takeaway, we enjoyed our bento box: warm meal with fluffy rice, veggies and really good chicken. Good size portion for your money! Haven't tried the sushi yet, but will do that next time.

Went here for lunch with my partner on the way to a bank appointment. Was the first time I’ve been to this one after loving the Wasabi restaurants in London.

Sushi is all rice pretty poor seems very profit minded AND no gluten free soy sauce chairs were stained floor was not clean and NOT a good value. Will never go again

Tried the brown rice chicken teriyaki salad bowl, it was amazing, fresh avocado, andaname beans, greens butternutt, fab, loved it, went twice in2 days, same thing.

This is really serving workers,students and anyone who needs to eat quickly. I was a ittle disappointed with the combinations which were not very exciting. What we had was good.

Clearly a good student hangout, Wasabi offers a wide range of Japanese items at low costs. Everything we tried (over several days ) was fresh and delicious. Gyoza are good, and any of the sushi are well prepared. I always enjoyed the Nigiri Salmon. Make sure you save room for dessert-- mochi!

Wasabi is a wonderful place with an excellent selection of fresh sushi. The sushi is delicious and is freshly made daily. The food has a high turn over so the selections are always fresh. I really enjoy the taste and reasonable prices Wasabi offers.

海外の寿司チェーンというとあまり期待できませんでしたが、Wasabiのお寿司は日本のものと同じくらい美味しかったです。

We popped into Oxford for the day on a Geo Caching day and as soon as I passed wasabi I made it clear this is were we where having lunch, as I always wanted to try a bento. We do t gave anything like this near us in the highlands.

I visited the Wasabi store on 19 July, and spent £9 on a selection of sushi (takeaway). It was obviously a busy day for the store, as there were huge queues, however this wasn't an issue for me. Anyway, after leaving the store, and opening up my sushi - I found that there was no soy sauce, no wasabi... A friend who visited the store later that day told me that they had run out of soy sauce...! I wasn't informed at any point during the buying process that the packs of sushi lacked their usual wasabi/soy sauce. This is really unacceptable for a sushi store, especially considering the price of the food. Why they didn't inform customers at the till, or put up notices, I don't know... I hope management reads this and learns from this mistake.

We loved the Japanese food here at Wasabi - fresh and so tasty. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices and selection of hot and cold food. Only drawback was the time spent in a queue - we obviously caught it at a busy lunch time and the place was mobbed. Also, the price on the box was £7.99 but when asked if I was eating in this went up to nearly £10. Confusing!

Me and my family stopped in here for lunch and was blown away at how tasty and fresh this place is at a similar cost to far less pleasant fast food outlets such as McDonalds, KFC etc.

I practically lived here when I was in Oxford! I basically eat here everyday for dinner the food was so good. Full of flavour and cooked fresh. You can get a good large hot meal and at a reasonable price. Will always go back and recommend to others!

After a walk and a deadline to catch the bus back to London we needed a place to quickly have something to nibble. We chanced upon this place and ordered a takeaway. Then finally say and ate here. Loved the sushi...good quality and wished we could spend some more time trying out various options. Totally recommend.

Best sushi in Oxford, what a shame the staff are so disinterested and frankly rude. Girl who served me at 2pm today looked like she'd rather be anywhere than there.

Passed here on road trip so went to buy takeaway. The sushi were lovely especially the salmon. Price was reasonable. Only complaint was the staff. The girl who served us was giving me my change and i had my hand out but she put the money on the counter and not my hand! Personally foubd that very rude.

The sushi here is absolutely fab, my fave lunch time venue whilst I am at work.

Stopped here for lunch and ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, the portion was more than ample but the noodles were dry and congealed, overall not that tasty, it appeared to have been cooked much earlier and been sitting around for some time before I bought it, not what I am used to in Japanese establishments in Asia.

Average customer care, lukewarm food, poor layout. The only plus - reasonable pricing. Needs to up its game in a town with huge choice.

Took the kid post morning exploring oxford. It's a chance but the food is amazing and quick. Best place to eat is upstairs and has a fun water garden. Also inexpensive and fresh food. Sushi is excellent too.

So glad this chain has made its way to Oxford, the selection of boxes and individual sushi is great, good value and delicious! Looking forward to trying some of the warm food and eating in when next in the area

Wasabi always has a great selection of affordable sushi. I have bought a variety of sushi for our family to enjoy and Wasabi always surprisingly delicious and also very affordable. I have also bought the bento meal and our favorite is the katsu chicken. It is very scrumptious. I always buy a few take away from Wasabi and it has not disappoint me.

This Japanese style restaurant/takeaway opened in Oxford over the Christmas/New Year period 2016/2017.

Wanted a quick meal before the theatre so went to Wasabi, the food was good (Chicken Curry) but they had sold out of many of the dishes.

Popped in to Wasabi, as Sasi Thai in the Covered Market was ridiculously busy. I went for the hot spicy chicken bento with noodles. It was delicious. I would heartily recommend it and will certainly revisit.
