Warung Bakso in Cambridge

Terrible measly portions, ordered the beef rendang and Korean barbecue chicken. They didn’t even give us Korean barbecue chicken we got a small portion of sweet and sour chicken that was mostly breading than chicken. The beef rendang is a small portion that is mid at best, for how much they charge you’re better off taking your money to Azuma in the market square, or Kim’s Bulgogi for Korean down at regent street.

I ordered vegetable noodles as base, and there is not a single vegetable there, just plain noodles. Also the portions are getting smaller and smaller. The amount of chicken in the supposed 2 toppings is enough maybe for a puppy but not for a human.

Boleh lah, they at least have chilli from Indonesia but a good option for travellers looking for comfort food from the region. The nasi goreng was ok but could do with a little bit more salt.

First time trying Indonesian food, ordered beef rengdang and mie ayam, and was really enjoyable. Would describe it as very nice homemade food, just couldn’t stop eating! Great service! Would definitely visit again.

The driver was rude. Refused to ring the flat bell and then also was just idling on the road. Horrible service

I was not going to write this review today and wil just leave the restaurant after this incident, but after talking to lady staff to inform her and pointed out and shown her that the chicken was uncooked. (friend of her was a witnessed ) She apologised and offered me a different food on display.Although it was a good gesture, i refused to accept and asked for refund instead.But she got shocked after hearing it (WHAT!!! she said) and told me that she couldnt do that as she is just a worker, without any clue of how could this affect someone's health by eating uncooked chicken and the business as this is health and safety issue..Then i explained to her that she can make a refund if she speak to her boss.She didnt like it and told me to do my job and she will do hers.I find that offensive and arrogant.She should be apologetic and resolve the issues without any fuss but instead she made the problem even bigger.

So Korean BBQ chicken had no flavour, neither did the noodles. Salt and pepper potatoes were quite tasty but woefully undercooked, sweet and sour chicken was mostly batter but sauce was tasty enough. Salt and pepper chicken was passable. Glad u had a money off voucher as wouldn’t have paid full price for this. Steer clear

This place used to be right in the city centre of Cambridge. The food is pretty basic, but there are some Indonesians delicacy. This is more like a takeaway place than a restaurant. The only Indonesian famous food that they offer here is the meatball hence, the name of the place. We ordered the meatball soup and their tofu and soy cake fritter. Having said that the things is pretty basic and nothing special about it. For the price that we’ve paid, we could eat better in London in a restaurant. The price range for meatball soup per person is around £7 to £8 per bowl. Bear in mind, this is not a restaurant facility nor restaurant service will be provided. The only good thing about this place is the friendly service that was provided over the counter. We paid £28 for the whole thing.

Food was fresh and full of flavour! I recommend the caramel chicken and salt and pepper chicken. The only downside would be there are a lot of vegetables mixed in the egg fried rice which other chains don’t normally add but still really nice.

Accidentally found this place, a meatball stall. There are several Indonesian menus, but I ordered meatballs. Delicious, feels like ordering in Indonesia. Haha. Good luck with your shop, sir.

Salt and pepper chicken was the only item that arrived hot. The bases and the additional topping were cold.

If you are in Cambridge and you have not try this "cheap eats", you're missing out. We just had the rice box and the chicken noodle.. as Indonesian, the food esp chicken noodle is totally authetic and taste so good. We are always sceptical abt indonesian food overseas but the bowl of chicken noodle proved us wrong! We also love the price..so cheap! If you are Indonesian, this is bakmi ayam gerobak style (aka mie ayam abang2) with a bit of sweet taste and "becek". Totally beyond our expectation! Well done Warung Bakso!

Great place for a lunch in town. You can get it for take away or sit outside. Lovely service - always smiling and they are very helpful. Delicious chicken bunt my fav is noodles with prawns !

Bakso, mie ayam, dan rendang my regular to take away. The owner very kind and flexible. I can collect my food from his house because me and my husband have to drive 2 hours to enjoy this food and he very kind to stay late just so i can collect them. Normally i order 3 bakso so that i can freeze them for next time i want to eat.

I love the noodles and caramel chicken... also the bakso its so yummy, although you're never going to be disappointed here. they very friendly staff, One of the best around. Visited this restaurant yesterday, and must say the food was scrumptious, loved the chicken noodles. And the staff is very friendly especially Irwan Anna. Must visit place for South Asian food.

I amazed with the food they sell it was soooo good. the sweet and sour and the caramel chiken were the highlight they’re just make you not stop eating and wanting more and more.. good price and nicely packaged for take away eat out at the garden 😊 definitely will share this place to my friends and family for the summer picnic.. 😋🤤🤤
