Samaan Restaurant in Cambridge

Just got a takeaway from this place and it was absolutely delicious. Kofte kebab was juicy and tender and the chicken wings were succulent. Bakalava was on another level. Crunchy and syrupy. Thank you very much I will be ordering from this place again. Very lucky to have places like this in Cambridge.

Very nice food and service was great. We were going to another place for dinner, but we did not have a reservation. So we went to Samaan which was quite close. We were lucky that we had our dinner at Samaan. Everyone liked the food and the atmosphere. We are planning to go thier next time we go to Cambridge.

This was an outstanding experience – easily the best Turkish food I've ever had. The spicy hummus with pita bread was a standout, and the mixed platter was an absolute delight; we can’t wait to have it again. A special thanks to Iftekhar, who not only served us but was incredibly kind and attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Cambridge!

I came here with my friends and we had a wonderful dinner. Everything was truly delicious, especially the mixed platter for three. If you're looking for a flavorful taste of Arabic cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try. One of the staff, Iftekhar, was incredibly kind and made our day by offering us complimentary Turkish tea. We left really satisfied!

We visited from Manchester. The waitress who served us was very nice, friendly and helpful. The food, especially the kofta kebabs were delicious. We were also given a complimentary side dish and were offered complimentary tea with baklava. Very nice and would definitely recommend. Thanks.

I can't recommend Saman highly enough! It's by far the best restaurant I've ever seen in the region. The food is amazing, the staff are so welcoming and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. You've got to try it!

The quality of the food was not up to par and the ingredients did not appear to be fresh. Furthermore, the portion sizes were quite small. The service was lacking, and the atmosphere was not conducive to a pleasant dining experience.

This was a lovely find in Cambridge as we went to visit the Cambridge Masjid. Not too far from the Masjid & wasn't too packed either. Food was lovely with good portion sizes. Waiters were brilliant, service was abit slow but not too slow. Overall really good experience 😊

Customer service was adequate but not good enough to come back. There are plenty of North African/Middle Eastern restaurants with better service and atmosphere to bother coming back.

It is a very nice place. I liked the food, especially the mezze plate is worth trying. Service was also very good, waitress lady was very friendly and helped me to pick right food. Will definitely come again.

The food was decent enough. We tend to dine out a lot and therfore comparing against some very good Turkish restaurants, and this just doesn't stack up. The grill is cooked well, but the flavour profile is weak. The service was very poor. The waitress serving us had a chip on her shoulder. We were a large group, and maybe that put her off, but then again, if you can't handle a large group, then just turn us away. It's pretty simple. We had two tables, and when the starters were coming out, we asked them to be distributed between the two tables. Politely, I should note. However, the waitress turned around and said, 'pass them back to the other table, it's not hard, I'll show you'. Are you serious? I asked. The starters are not at the table yet, and you're still bringing them out, so wouldn't it be easier for you to place them appropriately? Cue the rude eye roll. We debated on whether to pay the service charge onfme the £400+ bill, but the other server was actually good (guy is cap), so we didn't want to take anything away from him. So, a meal out ruined by the rude waitress. If you don't like serving customers, then just find a new job. Why be miserable and pass that onto others.

We had an extended family lunch yesterday. We were kindly offered a set menu. The food, service and environment were exceptional. Quantity of food was so much that with leftovers, four families will not be doing an cooking today.

Excellent middle eastern food, I particular lamb shank quizi, kebab, and certainly the tea was lovely. Baklava was a real surprise. Reasonable price for excellent food

A wonderfully delicious restaurant in Cambridge, the staff are wonderful, especially thank you to Elif.

The food was very tasty and the quantity of food was much more than expected. My kids liked it a lot. This was the first try. The atmosphere was good, quiet and not too crowded. Only one guy to serve but quick, efficient and friendly person. I recommend it if you like to try Middle Eastern food( Turkish, Lebanese , Iraqi). Parking is easy(walkable) if you park at Queen Anne Terrace Car Park (free after 6pm)

I'm actually not from cambridge but while visiting for the day. I was recommended to come here with family. We had Elif as our server and she was very welcoming and helpful with us when choosing our food. Over all the food delicious and the drinks were really good also. We also had tea at the end which gave us all a reminder of the middle east. I would definitely come here again and reccomend this to anyone that will come to cambridge !!!!!

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants i went to, 100% recommended! The staff was really helpful and quick with serving. The lamp beyti l’ve had was really warm and delicious - soups were great as well! I want to thank all the staff especially Gamze for her help. I’ve had a great time with my friends. The food is good but service is hit and miss. The last time we visited, it was daytime and fairly quiet in there but the server told us he was busy when we asked if we could order. Not a very welcoming atmosphere on that occasion whereas on our previous visit we had a good server. I really enjoyed the calamari and the mezze selection most of all.

Very good place in mill Road lie direct on the road very clean & they make Healthy oriental food &Halal too very tasty food..Head chef in there is very professional all the bread home made menu is private atmosphere too nice..

When you type on google for Turkish restaurant please delete your name. Because you are not Turkish. Just had lunch today with my girlfriend i feel sick all day. When I was eating my lunch my next table had a same complaint. I mean it if you really looking for turkish food it’s wrong address.

Came here for a meal one night and it was so impressive and hospitable that we decided to hold our Nikkah meal here. The owner organised a fantastic spread that went down well with all our guests!

Very authentic middle eastern cuisine in Cambridge. Reasonably priced, generous portions, friendly host, ticks all the boxes for me. Lovely decor with middle eastern music in the background adding to the experience. A must try! I highly recommend trying Kozi & Bamia!

We needed a quick lunch and called in on the off chance. Ended up with a freshy cooked and very enjoyable meal, nicely presented and hot.

Not a fan of chicken shawarma but definitely recommend lamb special kebab and meze plate. It would be great if they don’t serve bulgur and rice pilav together in the same plate (nearly in all kebabs) and replace one of them with potatoes or one of the mezes in the meze plate.

I'm not a regular at any restaurant, but Samaan has by far the best food I've had in one. Our waiter, Jamal, was very attentive and provided excellent suggestions to accomodate our tastes, and made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we wanted. Highly recommended.

We went on a Monday evening and the food was truly very bad. We ordered the Samosas and clearly they cooked them from frozen into the fryer to the point that when I was eating them they were cold on the inside (frozen) because really they were cooked form frozen. Also the lamb samosa was spicy but it was not mentioned on the menu that it was. We ordered a plate of chicken shawerma and mixed grill as well and both were really below average. The chicken shawerma didn't resemble any authentic shawerma. The service was ok. The atmosphere was really bad. There was some device that was loudly making some pumping noise or something and the staff just left it running. It felt like really sitting down in some very badly managed place. Not going again.

We had a nice time at this place. The restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly. My only complaint was the size of the portions in relation to the cost of the dish. They could do better esp on the mixed grill for two to share. Apart from that I would give it another visit.

Had a lovely romantic date here. I don't usually leave reviews but I had a really great experience, particularly due to the wonderful service! Haley was very friendly, and it helped to elevate the wonderful experience already provided by the perfectly calm evening atmosphere and delicious food. I went for dinner and the food was delicious and also very cheap .I got a vegetarian wrap and the flavour was amazing ! They have plates from £6 to £15 and the main plates are quite big , if you are like me maybe you can even share with someone and also eat very very cheap . The Arabic music in the background was very nice and it made the experience even better. Before leaving they gave us a dessert for free and I found this so so lovely , the staff was super nice too . I’ll definitely come back ☺️☺️
