Went here today Saturday 17th August the warrens by the cathedral and was treated really badly from a woman with dark hair she was rude and bad mannered. No customer service skills whatsoever, just having a mood on because I changed my mind on a pasty. Usually the staff I’ve seen there are very professional as I always go with my family whilst out shopping. I certainly won’t be going again as myself and family felt very intimidated by her whilst sat eating our lunch.

Warrens is een groot bedrijf met een fabrieksbakkerij en vele outlets. In Truro kwamen wij er kantwerk tegen. deze ligt tegenover de ingang van de Cathedral, gevestigd in een mooi oud pand. Brood is goed. Sommige pastri’s smaken niet geheel dagvers. Overgehouden van de vorige dag?

Whilst visiting the co-located Cathederal, one in our party fancied a pasty. The cathederal cafe doesn't serve these (strange) so we ended up in Warren's - which was great.Friendly staff, a clean foor and a great selection of options - including pasty's - meant a happy and staisfied group. Ckaes looked great, coffee was better than good.As a result of this experience, we tried other Warren's outlets across Cornwall. The pasty's were of a consistently high standard - but its the staff and manager here that really make this place a stand out amongst this still-special chain.

Vegan pasty? What can I say? I was like the proverbial pig rolling in it. This is the food stuff I have missed most in life. You can keep your steaks, bacon sarnies and roast dinners, but a pasty? I have craved them, dreamt about them and coveted with regularity. So to discover a vegan alternative was all Christmases arriving at once. The white peppery unctuousness of the filling and bite of pastry was gorgeous. Thank you Warrens

Warrens is in a prime spot opposite the cathedral entrance, has a quality feel about it and has a seating area, in addition to take away. You can smell the delicious aroma of the freshly-made pasties as you walk up to the cathedral. We bought a couple of pasties to take home to reheat later - bursting with delicious meat and vegetables. I can recommend them.

I’m a recent vegan and wasn’t sure if I would like the Thai pastie as I’m not keen on spices, Bex served me and was fantastic, she said if I didn’t like it I could bring it back ! I did like it and could even get a meal deal as they sell vegan cake slices, it was very clean and had more than one option for vegans which was nice

Don't bother with the meat Cornish pasty unless you're a closet vegetarian and love thick pastry. The apple, blackcurrant and custard pasty however was fantastic!

We've been coming to Cornwall for 15 years now and have tried every incarnation of the Pasty from every pasty shop in the county and Warrens beats them all hands down. Not just good pasties either - today I had a delicious ham salad sandwich in a gorgeous roll and one of their tiny Saffron buns - with a black coffee all under £5. Few places these days where you can get lunch for under a fiver. This branch has the added bonus of seating both at high bar stools and tables - they don't charge extra for eating in unlike most coffee shops. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful - they can be rushed off their feet but still have a smile for every customer. Nothing is too much trouble, including removing tomato and cucumber from my salad-hating other half's sandwich! A great range of traybakes and treats for the kids too. There's a reason why Warren's is always busy - great food, great service and a great price.

This cafe is very nice the people are really helpful the only down side to the Warren's chain is the inconsistency of there pasty's they can be dry over cooked and some times vey salty' its a shame because when they get it right they are some of the best in Cornwall.

We have tried must of the pasty shops in Truro now and find this one to be our first choice. They are generally busy which is always a good sign and it means the pasties turn over regularly too. Nice selection of fillings to pick from and they are always had plenty in them

Visited a Warren's Bakery a few days back, that was mediocre but thought I'd give another one a go! The worst sausage roll I've ever had by far - nothing by gristle and tasted weird, kind of like it wanted to be spicy but wasn't. Had to throw it away, tried a few mouthfuls incase it was a one off. Nope, just cheap and nasty meat I think. No cheese and onion options, all meat pastries. Fancied a gingerbread but looked as if a child has made it. Couldn't sit in as staff were cleaning the floors (visited around 2pm) so were surrounded by pigeons outside. Staff weren't really interested either. Give it a miss, not worth it!

This really is one of the best bakery's I've visited in a long time. The customer service was of an exceptional standard by both members if staff there - an asset to the company. The cakes were both delicious and of reasonable price, as were the hot drinks (only £1 each). The cafe seemed very clean, and the bread I bought to take home was still very fresh even after a 9 hour journey in a car. I am aware Warren's trade in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset - please extend your reach further north, I certainly believe there is a market for this quality.

In Cornwall, eat a meal in a pastry. Only went in for the famous Cornish pastie. The pastie didn't disappoint but that was the highlight. Service was slack and had to ask the young guy serving several times for serviettes. It appeared he was more interested in other activities. The tables and chairs needed a very thorough clean. But for the short time we sat whilst we ate, the grubbiness was overlooked

I should just stick to Warren's all the time, but no I was lured by the good looks of the Midtown Deli but hubbie stuck to his guns and for him nowhere but Warren's will do! He had a prawn on granary sandwich and cup of tea - the sandwich was so good he sent me back for a second (and a coffee for me) while he played table tennis with the kids outside the cathedral (yes, really!)! The staff are consistently friendly and attentive across the Warren's chain - I say chain, I think they are to Cornwall what Thomas the Baker is to us in Yorkshire. They were the first commercial producers of the pasty and this remains their core item. However they do a nice line of sandwiches and the girl made my husbands to order - no butter or salad. The coffee I had was really good, not bitter but nice and smooth. Their cinnamon buns have to be tasted to be believed - good job we're going home tomorrow as consumed on a regular basis, these are not the way to a "bikini body"!!! A great little coffee stop and on a fine day like today you can sit outside the cathedral and people watch as you munch.

Good location next to Cathedral, sat inside. Although staff were pleasant, service was slow and sporadic - had to chase for coffee order. We were surprised that in a 'bakery' the baguettes were not fresh crusty ones, but sub rolls out of a plastic bag! The filling was also horrible. My husband had a pasty and wasn't impressed. The seating area was very unclean. The whole experience completely put us off ever going in a Warrens again!

I've no idea whether their claim that they are the ones who actually invented the very first Cornish pasty is true, but they certainly make good pasties. Went for lunch and the first thing my partner and I noticed was the friendly welcome from the staff, who not only made us feel at home but offered us free samples of several of their distinctive dishes. There aren't many seats inside, but if the weather's fine there's plenty of space immediately outside. Actually, it was so hot on the day we visited that we stayed inside, and in the course of our lunch had various conversations with the staff, all of whom seemed really pleased to be working there. So absolutely no grumbles here - and we would certainly go back.

This is a bakery with some indoor seating. It's clean and modern, but forget all that - the Cheese and Onion Pasty I bought there was the best I've ever had, and I'm in my 6th decade ! I would describe it as a 'locals' shop, even though it's right next to the Cathedral. Don't expect to be spoilt by service or get that perfect tourist 'ambience' - it sells delicious hot 'takeaway' traditional Cornish food which is reasonably priced and you can eat it indoors on a chilly March day. If this is what you want, it's five-stars from me.
