Food arrived on time but was cold and chicken substituted for (see picture as not even sure what it is??!)Called to re order but lady hung up on me - called back 6 times and now going straight to voicemail- will not be spending over the odds on what used to be decent food again!

Great food for our first time. Ordered via phone, was ready within 15 mins. Very tasty. Definitely go again. The only criticism is that they don't have an online ordering system, but I guess if they don't have a large clientele, they wouldn't need one.

Decided to leave a review in response to daudholmes review further down the page, who criticised the food for not being authentic Malaysian.However this is an Indonesian restaurant so their lack of authentic Malaysian cuisine is not a surprise. The food is lovely. Quick to order, reasonably priced and full of flavour. Would recommend a visit - not if you want Malaysian food though.

The food is well prepared and very tasty, but I would say it is quite expensive for what you get. I would order again but I think some of the other takeaways around the area are better value for money.

Great food. Lovely coffees. Enjoyed the company of the staff as they led us to choose a good meal and not too much so no waste. They do doggie bags though so don’t worry if your eyes are too big!

I had a reservation for 8pm tonight and when I was arrived I was told there was no table available- please let me take you number and I will call with a table in 25mins- I said this was fine we could go and wait somewhere. Still no call 20:40. When I called again I was told there would be a table ready in 10mins. But by this I was not feeling like eating after 9pm and declined as I did see they close for 9pm? I Left feeling very disappointed and let down. I would of rather just been told last night when I booked- sorry there wont be a table for you- or even when we arrived tonight- look tonight I’m afraid there is no space for you. Instead we had to sit and wait for a phone call which probs would not of happened until I called myself.We travelled from Guilford on some really good recommendations from friends and work colleges and all day have been looking forward to having a nice meal, Sadly this was not the case. A wasted evening cheers

We have been here a few times now and all times excellent. This is a perfect example of a hidden gem. We recently took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme they enrolled in. Brilliant food and at half price. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Can not wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious food and friendly staff. It's great to have something a bit different from the standard Indian/chinese, etc. Good portions and reasonably priced. Honestly couldn't fault it at all.

We managed to get a table tonight and it was perfect. We are from out of town so relied on trip advisor to find a nice restaurant and boy did they deliver. The food was amazing, the best we have had in a long time. So tasty, good portion sizes and really good value for money. The staff here could not be any more helpful. There is a lovely lady who explained the menu to us and suggested things we may like including popular dishes etc. The chef is amazing. We loved that we could watch all the food being prepared. If you are around here then make sure you give themA try. We will 100% be back its just a shame they are not on our doorstep. Thankyou for An amazing evening of great food and good company. I visited with my two friends one is vegan, and 2 of us vegetarian. They catered to our needs and made such tasty food!! All of it came to £26 which was an absolute bargain.

We were going to a gig at the West End Centre and looked for a vegetarian place to eat nearby on Tripadvisor. This place caught our eye only 2 mins walk from the venue and was lovely. Simple but charming venue, friendly helpful staff who checked on any allergies etc before serving a delicious starter of tempura tofu and spring rolls and a really tasty vegetable noodle stir fry.Make sure you have their uniquely prepared coffee, the beans imported from different Indonesian islands.It's not cordon bleu cooking but it is satisfying and people were queuing outside at 6pm on a Wednesday evening!

Popped in off the cuff as we were visiting family in the area. First time we have tried Indonesian food and glad we did. Tastes far better than Chinese and in our opinion, a lot healthier too. The chef made a taster of sauce for us to try and offered to adjust the spice to our liking. The crispy duck was amazing. The host was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. It may have a cafe feel but the food is top restaurant quality. I suspect bigger premises will be required once word spreads about how good this place is.

I popped in for lunch and ordered the beef rendang. I have lived in the Far East and this was one of the best ones I have eaten. Thoroughly recommend eating here.

Very impressed with the taste of the food , the host is very welcoming and happy to provide any additional info about the food or the ingredients ( just not the sauces, apparently well guard secret ;) )Will definitely be visiting again.Also really impressed with the coffee , an experience in itself !

We had our work's Christmas party here earlier this month and it was absolutely fantastic. Phil and Aqaya made us feel really welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. The highlights for us are the Lamb Tongseng, the Nasi Goreng, the Beef Rendang, the Crispy Duck, the Seabass in Paniki sauce and the Cap Chay (stir-fried vegetables). It's well worth a visit. Order a coffee and watch the percolator percolate the coffee. It's amazing!!!

Three of us came here for lunch today not really knowing what to expect. The cafe is tiny but very inviting and We were greeted by very friendly warm host. He helped us decide on our orders and it was all freshly cooked in front of us. The flavours were outstanding, the most enjoyable lunch we have had in a very long time! We would definitely recommend this cafe and will definitely be returning very soon!

Met up with a few friends on a Tuesday night after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor. This place is amazing. I’ve been on holiday to Indonesia and not once did we taste food this good. The service and cooking from the husband and wife team was brilliant. The freshness and depth of flavour of all of the dishes (pictured) was great. Special mention for the crispy duck dish, so good we ordered it twice. Some of the best food I’ve ever tasted....and I’ve tasted a lot!! Thanks very much, and keep up the great work.

I'm torn... If I give a review you might all turn up theres is literally room for 12 (if that). Been several times and love the food and the simplicity of the cafe. No fancy dan front of house just good Authentic food. I have been to the far east and this is as good as it gets. Not Michelin Starred but worth a visit anytime. I love it! Website isnt updated so call for availability and confirm opening times!

Wow! Flavour! More Wow! More Flavour! The whole crab was definitely the star. Everything was delicious. Everyone friendly. A real pleasure, thank you. 2020 will see us as regulars.

Three of us had dinner here. Amazing well flavored dishes. The Beef Rendang was perfect as was the Mie Goreng It has a friendly informal atmosphere. We had a great meal - recommended.

Stumbled across this little treasure of a waroeng run by an incredible chef ibu and her husband. Really nice food, reccomend the nasi goreng for its flavours, spice and genuine style of Indonesia bundled up into a (large portioned!!) home cooked meal. We added the tofu to the side, not your ordinary tofu!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It felt very authentic, I've had very similar food in Indonesia. So cheap as well. £35 for 3 of us and we bought a bottle of wine from the next door shop. We came over from Farnham, worth coming over.

Having read the reviews I was eagerly expecting some beautifully spiced food, but unfortunately I came away disappointed. Maybe my expectations of Indonesian food were wrong as I was expecting something similar to what you might get in Thailand, with delicate spicing, a clean taste and a lingering heat.

Our family comes to this small little gem occasionally and being avid fans of spice and curried based dishes, Waerong Windsor is fantastic. We had tahu isi (tofu based dish), rendang beef and satay - all authentic and mouthwateringly delicious. We continue to be eager patrons!

Used for 1st time last night, had the Mie Goreng. Taste was out of this world, definitely know how to cook with spices. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

High recommended Indonesian food

Very friendly service with good advice on the combinations of sauces to have with the different fish / crab. The crab was delicious with the balado sauce and sea bass with paniki.

It may look like a small cafe, but the food is excellent. One of the best Beef Rendang I’ve had in the UK. Definitely worth a visit.

Although I’ve never had Indonesian food before, it feels like it’s really authentic and my friend, who has been to Indonesia, agrees. A really small and cosy little restaurant in the middle of Aldershot. The lady who I think must own it, was really friendly and talked us through the menu before actually giving us a physical menu! I went for what she recommended and it was definitely worth it. It’s really good value too; we went away feeling full at £17 each (and I can eat a lot). Would highly recommend- I will certainly be back soon!

Went on a friend's recommendation. Cosy and friendly place, with only 14 covers. The lady who served us was great at explaining what each if the dishes were, and what worked well together, and three of us all had something different.... Amazing food, totally superb.

Okay it's small, but cosy. Authentic and extremely tasty. I thoroughly recommend the Rendang and Sea Bass.

The place is quite small that we have to wait for a table for around 15 mins, anyway we order chicken and lamb sate for starter, chicken sate is a bit dry but the sauce is really tasteful. Then for main dish we order ayam penyet with fried tofu and tempe. The sambal taste really good and authentic, and they don’t charge for extra sambal.

Since my previous (good) review nothing has changed it is still a good restaurant but one thing interests my, when a bottle of beer is served the bottom corner of the label is torn off is this to remove the best by date or some other reason ?

There are only four tables, so service is good. The food is exceptional, actually better than the food I have had in good restaurants in Indonesia! You'll need to book for Friday and Saturday evenings. Will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

Decided to try this place due to the ratings it receives just before we attended a performance at Princess Hall.

We had a meal for 2 here, we were met with the biggest smile as we walked in by a very attentive Indonesian waiter who welcomed us and explained the 'specials' he had that day.

This place doesn’t look much but we had a really good lunch there. I had see bass cooked with spices in a banana leaf. Probably the best fish I have tasted. The coffee was a real event - see photo.

Great atmosphere and great food. What else could you ever really want from a food establishment. Do not miss out.

I came with my husband and son and the food is amazing. The service is warm and friendly. Book ahead as it is popular. I am so pleased with our choice and my 9 year old said its his favourite place to eat! He ate an entire sea bass.

Could not fault this little place the food was recommended by the chef and he was spot on, we didn't make a reservation but was given a table in no time at all, very friendly and helpful staff, the cost was cheap for the amount we had... 1st class..

We (a family with 2 young children) have been at this restaurant twice and we felt very welcome. The food is very fresh and bursting with flavour, and tastes really amazing! The owner is always happy to recommend something new to try. Even though the restaurant is very small, several families seem to be back there not for the first time and give us recommendations of their favourites. They also do take away service. It is really worth to try!

First visit and very impressed.

We went to this restaurant at about 7.30pm the staff were excellent, it was very clean and the food was delicious BUT the temperature outside was 1degree and the temperature inside was not much higher in fact two customers had left their outdoor coats on and one customer had left his woolly scarf on whilst eating their meals, after finishing our meal we waited nearly half an hour for a member of staff to tell us what our bill total was, my thoughts are if you go there for an evening meal wait until the warmer weather arrives.

I went there yesterday with my brother and was greeted with warm and friendly smiles by the chef and two owners. Great recommendation for the lamb satay with a hot and spicy sauce as requested. Also went for the whole sea bass which was incredibly fresh and tasty. Even though we travelled 50 minutes to eat here I would come back again and again. Compliments to Phil, his wife and friendly team!

I had never tried indonesian cuisine but tried this place on the basis of its reviews and was not disappointed. The nasi goreng is so tasty that I keep going back for more. Love the satay chicken!

Very unassuming, no-frills, cheap restaurant, a few tables only - but the food is very good. If we find ourselves in Aldershot again we will definitely revisit.

Booked a table of ten here and they were happy to accept the booking. Checked a few days before and all was good. On the day the tables were quickly put together in ready for the group of nine people. The food cooked were really delicious and fragrant.

Went the other week having pre booked about a month previous. Fantastic greeting on arrival and food was superb. Plenty of it, good value and some really interesting dishes. Excellent service and ambience.

Went with friends last night for the first time and simply had an excellent meal. The service was friendly and efficient, nothing too much trouble. Will be returning on a regular basis.

Cosy restaurant with delicious, freshly cooked Indonesian food and friendly hosts. We had a whole sea bass in sweet and sour sauce, mixed vegetables and ayam woku (tumeric, lemongrass and ginger chicken). All were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I was pleasantly surprised to be served coffee in a siphon with condensed milk on the side!

We have been keen patrons and fans of this small Indonesian eatery since its early days. It has gained more recognition and become more busy as people are discovering this family runned (husband/wife & team), cafe-styled restaurant, yet it continues to retain its roots to bring the real taste of Indonesian home and street food to the UK. Glad to see that this ethos has not changed (and we hope it won't in the future).

This is our favourite restaurant in Aldershot, been here on several occasions and can honestly say everything we have tried has been great however our top picks are the sea base, crab and chicken satay.

This little restaurant with only a handful of tables serves a fantastic array of dishes. The staff/ owners are wonderful welcoming people and will guide you though the menu if you need a hand. The crab looked fantastic.

Came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night after walking past the restaurant earlier in the week and being intrigued by the menu. We've lived in Aldershot our whole lives and until Westgate came along there's never really been anywhere to eat. I'm ashamed to say I must have walked past this amazing restaurant 100 times to get to Westgate. You have to try here. So reasonably priced, GREAT people working there who clearly care about what they're doing and it shows in the service and the outstanding food they cook.

This is a great little restaurant in the centre of town. In the nice weather there are even some lovely tables outside.

Yet again this evening I have had an amazing meal at waoreng Windsor. I have had a whole new world of taste introduced to me and I could not recommend it more highly. For a man who is more used to dining on steak and chips this is a revelation of a culinary kind! The food is some of the best I have ever tasted and the staff make the experience even more special as they are incredibly knowledgeable about the Indonesian cuisine and the atmosphere could not be more welcoming or friendly.

Have eaten some lovely Indonesian food from their restricted menu on 2 or 3 occasions, Last time I went was on a Sunday lunchtime but unlike their web information, they were closed and when I bumped into the owner later that week at a public show he explained that he'd not been able to get his staff to adjust the internet-published opening times to match the reality as the staff was too busy going out on the town. Also, the lovely Indonesian Strret Food banner shown here was not yet up due to its manufacture still being in the pipeline or some other delay. I do not think the running of this cafe is doing justice to the hard work of the chef (his wife) as when I see it each time it is an anonymous and often closed-up premises. Come on Waroeng Windsor, get a grip!!!

We visited waroeng Windsor after it was recommended by multiple people. However, despite the rave reviews nothing prepared me for the amazing food and atmosphere. The staff were fantastic, incredibly friendly, helpful and very knowledgable on all things Indonesian, which led to fascinating conversation. It would have been easy to while away a whole afternoon chatting about Indonesia, the amazing food and a variety of other subjects that came up! The food was like nothing I have ever experienced - I cannot write enough in this review to do this fabulous little restaurant justice. The satay chicken was incredible and the fresh crab was beyond delicious. We will definitely be regular visitors so that we can work our way through the menu! I cannot recommend this gorgeous place highly enough. Amazing food, fabulous staff and a cracking atmosphere. Before you think of eating anywhere else - wether it’s take away or sit down meal - do yourselves a favour and visit waroeng Windsor. You definitely won’t regret it!

Wow! If I could give 6 stars, I would. Indonesian cuisine on your doorstep. Call ahead for a table or just takeaway. Fresh crab available as well ( again, need to call ahead to guarantee). Amazing cuisine.

I had to kill a few hours one day in Aldershot and kept on walking past this restaurant. Finally I took the plunge and chose to eat here. What a great decision; the food was cooked fresh to order and simply tasted divine! Even served authentic Indonesian Bintang beer!! The team here are very much at the beginning of their restaurant journey and I wish them continued success. Definitely worth a visit!!

Tried this tiny cafe for the first time. Sate chicken, rice and mixed stir fry vegetables. Now I want to work my way through the whole menu. Beautifully cooked food, charming owner and wife, very able chef. Please try this place. Aldershot is dying by degrees and I think independent eateries, however small, may be the way to go.

Went there for dinner tonight and ordered the fresh Crab in Balado sauce. It was far better than the Singapore Crab I had in the Rick Stein's Restaurant in Winchester couple years ago. The service was warm and friendly with helpful advice on what to choose from the menu. The price is relatively low considering the travel costs would involve to go to bigger town/city to get this. Highly recommended it.

I had heard about this new street cafe from a colleague who recommended it highly. So, we decided to give it a try and get some takeaway. I know nothing about Indonesian food so was really pleased when the owner talked through the menu with me. We went for the sea bass and a chicken dish with some satay sticks. The flavours were fantastic. We love the small independent cafes that Aldershot has and now we have another one to add to the list.

Whilst in Aldershot walking around we noticed this little gem so decided to come back for dinner, very friendly welcome and menu just big enough to not be confused but varied enough for all tastes. Authentic Indonesian food which was simply to die for. Satay starters to get going then a few different choices for mains which were all amazing, put together just infront of us. Left full and very pleased. The owner was very happy to explain any dishes and even made some tofu stuffed sides which were outstanding. A must if visiting Aldershot.

Visited this small restaurant on February 17th 2018. The owner and staff make you feel welcome and are so helpfull. I've travelled a lot of Asia and this is a great place to get good Indonesian food. They will cook the food to your liking I had the nasi goreng it was really good. If your in aldershot give this place a try it's well worth it. I will definitely be back on my next trip.

My friend found this place by accident on his last trip here and we went for a bit of food on a Saturday night. Pretty much didn’t recognise anything on the menu so let the lovely lady serving us to make the choice. Fantastic food and really friendly people, recommended and a must stop next time I’m In Aldershot.

A lovely little restaurant , wish we'd found in sooner . The beef rendang was so delicious and authentic just like you get in Indonesia , Nasi goreng, satay ,crispy fish & tempeh were all excellent too & all cooked fresh to order . We will be back to try the rest of the menu very soon. We love the Indonesian food in Amsterdam so good to find somewhere a bit nearer. The staff are helpful too explaining the dishes , Would highly recommend , great value for money too

The nasi goreng is amazing. It's seasoned rice that I could eat by itself, it comes with the most tasty lamb or chicken satay and also a fried egg on top. I just wish they were somewhere with more convenient parking.

Visited this tiny restaurant with a group of colleagues on the recommendation of one of them. Not a huge menu, which makes choosing easier. Food was freshly cooked and delicious and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Very good and will definitely be going back.

Been here twice now and had the beef rendang twice! Nasi Goreng, chicken satay, ayam woku are all great dishes too. Good menu selection which can change depending on specials. Want to go back to try the fresh crab with dipping sauces! Indonesian tea is also good. Meal for 2 inc a drink each easily done for less than £10 a head. Friendly staff also. Great find in Aldershot.

Third visit for me. Drove from Basingstoke at lunchtime specifically for my husband to try the sea bass. Worth it to see him empty his very large plate of beautifully cooked fish, vegetables and rice. On our next visit he wants to try the huge crab we saw another diner eating. Best chicken satay and Nasi Goreng I've tasted. Jasmin iced tea a welcome new taste. Small cafe (3 tables) and very friendly owners. Watch the food cooking from your table.

Our first visit (and certainly not our last) to this small restaurant did not disappoint. The owner (Phil) and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The place is clean and well kept. We had Beef Rendang, Tongseng and fresh, crisp veg - yummers. The menu can change especially in regard to the sea food which Phil gets fresh caught on the day, eg sea bass, crab. The freshly made iced tea was refreshing (not from a packet). They'll change your meal to spicy/hot if you prefer. There's a victory parade in Aldershot 18th June and we'll be making a visit to Waroeng on the day to sample their street food. I highly recommend you try this place. :-)

First time if ever tried Indonesian food (& Indonesian beer !) & certainly it won't be the last, a small menu with everything made with Carr & much love, can't wait to go back again, this place is an absolute gem in Aldershot's burgeoning independent restaurant scene..

Stopped of for quick lunch, a real surprise. Very good food at very cheap prices. We both had lamb satay with rice, it was great. The meals are from a short menu all priced at £7.50.

I have visited this cafe twice, the first time being with my father and step mother and the second time being with my mother. Both occasions were brilliant and I really recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, flavoursome food. On both visits I ordered the grilled chicken, I was impressed, it was exquisite and honest it wasn't trying to be fancy and Lardy dah. It was brilliant street food, fully focused on filling you up and exciting your taste buds, I would wholeheartedly recommend ordering this when you come here. On both occasions my relatives ordered the curried beef and they said they were really impressed and when I took a little bite the beef melted in my mouth and was superbly tender with a great yet subtle flavour of coconut to complement the meaty flavour. Overall this is great food for an even greater price. I would also want to add that the customer service was impeccable the lovely man was really helpful with his knowledge of Bhali and Indonesia, as some family friends are going there, and overall he left a great and friendly impression on our party. This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in in aldershot in a long time, and I urge you to go here.

Found restaurant via TripAdvisor. Having travelled to Indonesia many times wanted to try real Indonesian food in the U.K. Absolutely not disappointed, brilliant local food, cooked freshly using real Indonesia spices. Very small, only 3 tables but does take always. Would highly recommend- some of the best satay ever tasted

Went to Waroeng Windsor for a meal on Friday night. Have see this restaurant before but this was our first time to try. Had a very warm welcome from the staff inside who told us the menu and their best sellers. We opted for the Beef Rendang, chicken sate and the chicken bakar paniki. We also had a pudding that tasted amazing, can't remember the name but had it many times.

Is a small place but it's giving you truly Indonesian spirit. Food so delicious and flavored. You can find cheapest Beer Bintang tin UK and its cheap :)) Will definitely come back here. Terima Kasih

Fantastic Indonesian food, beer and coffee, so reasonably priced. We had most of the menu on our one trip, satay, nasi goreng, beef rendang, tilapia in pandanus leaf, ayam woku, all delicious. Tiny restaurant, doesn't look like much, but lovely staff and totally authentic. Aldershot should totally celebrate that restaurants like this can open here.

Fantastic find! Excellent food and brilliant service - food heaven! Well located and close to Aldershot town centre and the cinema.
