Slow service.. dirty tables. Glasses..wrong order given..cold food waif for fresh food all my family their meal. 1 staff member on bar.. ridiculous won't be ina rush to return. Service is shocking.. who wants eat a cold burger? Cold fries..sit at a dirty table. Drink from a dirty glass?

Brilliant service today by Ainsley, she is an absolute credit to the team and is very happy and smiley and nothing is ever too much trouble for her. Had a breakfast which was perfectly cooked by Blake, very quick and tasty. Will definitely return in the near future.

Had a family meal here on the 24th December the meal was disgusting the turkey was cheap roll the veg was not cooked enough carrots Brussels hard the cauliflower was the stork only and the potatoes were cold.the staff didn't ask if they could do anything for you they wasn't interested yet it cost over £100 for a meal that was fit for the bins only.we will never return again.please avoid the place also the fire alarm went of and the chief stood at the bar drinking No Staff came over to explain why the alarm 🚨 was ringing blood joke.

Service was good nice lady seated us unfortunately she did say someone was sat at our reserve table but they did have a table empty so wasn’t a problem. Service at the bar was ok a little busy but expected due to Christmas Eve. Food was fantastic for the non vegetarians unfortunately me my husband and daughter had the same menu item for vegetarians and it was just a non meat burger on lettuce in a plain bun no sauce no tomato onions nothing with a hand full of chips on the side. Felt like if you are a vegetarian we don’t care shame really has we loved are vegetarian meals last Christmas Eve couldn’t fault them. But different staff and cooks can alter a pub and make a difference we won’t be back unfortunately.

Breakfast with Santa amazing. Well Staffed Fantastic vibe. And and kids are loving it. And after considering a few places to bring them. So glad we chose The warhorse we was sat in a booth with Christmas roof decorated lovely. £10 per child amazing value. Staff and Owners literally got this place looking Amazing for Xmas Inside and outside. Very inviting. Thanks Guys

Visited again today with our three granddaughters, food not quite as good as previous visits, ladies toilets no soap in dispensers. Staff always helpful

We went to war horse today , for the Santa with breakfast and it was brilliant. Very well organised. Lovely service throughout. Santa was the best I’ve ever seen.good value for money. Kids really enjoyed it. Good food and atmosphere. We will be defo booking for next year.

We had a blast at breakfast with Santa! The kids loved their food, but a bit of toast would've made it perfect. The eggs were a tad overcooked, but everything else was yummy. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. Santa was amazing! He came to our table to chat with the kids, and then they got to visit his grotto for more fun and a special gift. He looked so real, it was like the real Santa was there!

Visited today for breakfast with Santa with my partner and 2 year old and we had an amazing morning. The whole thing was ran excellent. Staff were brilliant, shown to your table which was decorated and plenty of Christmas crafts to keep the little ones busy. A great choice of breakfast for kids and adults with special Christmas pancakes on offer. The santa was absolutely brilliant and by far the best Santa we've ever seen. So much patience with my little girl, didn't feel rushed like many other places. Staff took photos in a lovely corner they had set up with a back drop. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Staff were very attentive and happily spoke to families which was really nice 10/10 and hopefully we can visit for the same event next year, it will be top of our list! Thank you!

Excellent breakfast with Santa today. Food was delicious, plenty of choice for adults and children. Best Santa I have ever seen and so lovely too. Staff extremely attentive and really kind. Great morning making Christmas memories.

We booked a Christmas family meal at The War Horse. There was a lot of us, some travelling from down south, so weren't sure what to expect. As It happens, it exceeded our expectations. Service was brilliant and the meals were lovely. It was organised so well, there was no long wait between courses at all. We want to thank Amy our server who was fantastic and also chefs Dan and Mark. The Manager was brilliant too, having a laugh with us. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely go back and would highly recommend

Wonderful Sunday lunch today at the war horse. Staff were super welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Roasties are crispy, veg was well cooked and meat was juicy! Very reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning!

I visited the war horse on Saturday evening on our arrival we was treated with a walk welcome by a lovely woman on the bar caz,we was promptly seated in a nice snug area of the pub, the Christmas atmosphere and decor made the entire experience surreal for me and all of my party, we decided to order of the ores and pay app,when placing our order the app reflected live wait time which we thought so sophisticated comparison to other venues we have visited in the Chorley area, after placing the order we sat back and relaxed almost instantly our drinks arrived at our table with a pleasant smile nothing was to much trouble, we had ordered of the festive menus as we wanted the full experience and can’t fault in any way the food was hot generous portions and arrived very swiftly shout out to blake the chef everything was correct witch we find to be an issue as we was a party of 12 and almost never correct in other venues and his food was unreal must bidet this pub it doesn’t disappoint we all will be back

Ordered the full English Fried egg was not eatable - rock solid The rest of the meal was not much better. Lots of oil on the plate, toast was cold and hard

I came to the war horse yesterday for some food which was amazing. A Good friend of mine Blake who was one of the very talented chefs among all the others at the war horse and I must congratulate you for this wonderful food. Highly recommend coming here for food!

We tried this place out on a Wednesday evening as we heard they had a brilliant quiz on so we booked a table for 4. On arrival we was told there could be up to a half hour wait on food what we thought was fine cause we were there for the quiz and drinks anyway anything else was a bonus,we decided to try the food as people on the table next to us were raving about how positive there experience was shortly after placing an order on the greeneking app are food was coming out the kitchen I would say 10/15 minutes tops and omg I can’t speak for others but ur streak sizzler is to die for expertly cooked by blake the rest of my table enjoyed there food we all will be back thank you team war horse

Highly rate this pub, it offers a warm welcome each time we visit! Just had breakfast this morning which was great value and a very enjoyable meal. We've been 3 times for breakfast here, always at a weekend as it doesn't serve breakfast during the week- can I suggest you open for breakfast on weekdays? Served by Caz who is very sociable and pleasant to talk to. Love the Xmas decorations too!

Came in tonight for a quick drink; staff were lovely and so accommodating. We were next to bar and unfortunately witnessed the staff experience a troublesome table of 8 complaining constantly about their order. Staff could not do enough to accommodate them, however they were still unhappy and proceeded to be rude to the bar / kitchen staff. Kaz and Estha did an excellent job at calming them down; trying to defuse the situation that was not necessary!

The beer is not the best at the moment,shame really,good service and atmosphere but the beer lets in down a bit

The food was cold. When I told the waiter who walked past our table, I told him that the food was cold. He then said that they are happy to make me a fresh plate of food and took the plate of cold food away. I said that could you please ask the cook to make a fresh plate of food and then take the cold food away.. he still took the cold food away and said we never re-cook or re-heat any food that has been out. Anyway within 3 minutes later the food came out and can clearly see that the food was re-heated and burnt. I also said will we get fresh fries as these were cold with other dish and the waiter said he had to go to serve someone else and never got back to me to solve my issue with the food. The salad had no cucumber, tomatoes and red onions just some leaves. The menu states that you get garlic ciabatta slices but instead you get garlic French bread slices and there were no BBQ sauce and mayonnaise given. As you can see from the photos, the re-heated food were burnt

We came as a party of 11 for a childrens birthday, A couple of meals were incorrect but the staff were promt and efficent to correct this with haste, we had a lovely meal for such a big party. Great service and lovely staff

Large party of 21 (10 adults, 11 kids) and we were looked after so well. Seated together in a nice area, the kids were able to run around without bothering anyone else in the pub. Staff were really helpful. All the food arrived quickly, was absolutely delicious and really good value for money. Caz was lovely and when she came to ask how our food was, also asked the kids. Made them feel really grown up but the poor lady then got stuck in a conversation with them all about football. She was really nice (brought the kids Christmas crackers to play with). Lovely helpful staff behind the bar (Esther and Emily) all in a really nice experience for our annual get together. Thank you ladies for a lovely brunch xx

Nice place to have some food, had a drive out and found the place. Homely pub, food nice, reasonably priced. Only issue we had was we couldn't order through the app as it wouldn't accept payment from any of our cards. So had to order at the bar. Will return when in the area.

Used to come here all the time, then, around 8 months ago we assumed that it had changed hands because we came and to say it was awful is an understatement, food was cold, uncooked and when we complained we were met with utter contempt, so we said we'd never return... Anyway, fast forward 8 months ( today, 11th November 2024 ) we decided to try again, and, just WOW ! We're so glad we did! Food was fantastic! Hot and plentiful, service was brilliant, they were busy but still were friendly and helpful, the lovely lady behind the bar was a gem, didn't catch her name but she had blonde hair up in a top knot with an undercut, the guy who served our food was being rushed off his feet, but still had the time to smile and say " enjoy your meal " again, didn't get a name but was wearing glasses and had ginger hair, thank you both so very much 😀 spoke to the manager too, because I feel that he needed to know that his staff offered great service and fantastic food! Our faith has been restored and we will definitely be back! Thank you!

Love coming to the War Horse, great atmosphere plenty of seating and lots of screens around the venue to watch the sport. Food , there is a great menu and some great offers to be had

Absolutely shocking food, never mind a greene king! But this one was disgusting, can't go wrong with a burger anywhere but this place you can. Ordered a Korean bbq burger with salt and pepper chips. Was absolutely disgusting! The chips was fries, not chips nor was they salt and pepper, they was absolutely plastered in Chinese five spice "our famous salt and Peper chips" is there quote! It's not as if it's sprinkled on either, the burger was burnt and crunchy nor is it a Korean bbq sauce, just absolutely lazy cooking! Ended up eating the tiniest size mac and cheese side after charging me nearly £15 for food I didn't eat! Will never visit this greene king again total disappointment and waste of time!

We popped in on Sunday. Not busy , quite place in classical British pub traditions- the place we were searching for Sunday chill out. Food was amazing. The price surprisingly cheap. For £10 the drink was included. Definitely recommend!!! 5* for service to Caz

I’m at the War Horse every Wednesday for their weekly quiz night and have the best time! We always receive the warmest welcome by the staff and treated amazingly! Our server Amy always makes our visits enjoyable and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is okay!

We really enjoy our trips to War Horse. We’ve been twice this half term to take part in the crafts… they have been brilliant! A special thank you to Caz for making us feel so very welcome. We’ll be back!

Booked a table for 9 (6 adults, 2 children) for a family meal, don't get the chance to get together very often as we have other commitments, we where all seated together in a quiet part of the restaurant which was nice. Shout out to the chefs Dan and Blake, all the food came together bar one but we were kept informed and staff apologetic for the additional 2 minute wait, food was nice and hot and plenty for the money. Amy who worked on the bar was delightful, she was very pleasant and well mannered. It was another pleasant experience for us, will be back

A stand - out eating pub. The staff/service were/was polite, friendly, quick and efficient. The meal was as good as I could have expected (fish, chips & peas+millionaires cheesecake for pud)for the price of a great deal with two meals for cheap as chips cost. Mega Breakfast & Full monty grill my next choices ASAP.

Excellent service and they even agreed to do the breakfast menu on a Friday which they only really have at the weekend. The breakfast was excellent and something that they should do all week.

Regular at the pub. You recently replaced a lot of the old TVs around the venue for newer ones ahead of the Euros in the summer. This was a great idea, but we were recently told that most of these new TVs are only freeview, which means they don't have the channels to show Premier League/Champions League football (or really any sports at all). It would be great if that could be addressed so all the TVs in the venue could broadcast channels like Sky Sports, TNT etc.
