Really nice food, good portion sizes and reasonable prices.

Lovely meaty fish and a generous pirtion, but sadly the chips and the batter were both undercooked. I would have preferred to wait another 5 minutes.

First time using you tonight, ordered online and collected. Fish and chips are both really good. Firm favourite already. Thank you.

We ordered cod, haddock, spicy chicken strips and a cheese burger with onion rings and halloumi. All of them were very good as always 👏👏👏 Online ordering was quite convenient and ready to collect on time.

Amazing food, really nice. The fish is just the best and the chips are the type of chips you'd expect in a top chippy. The ONLY downside is as I was trying to save time I attempted to order online, which was totally fine up until I had to tap PAY NOW, at which point the system froze. Most probably not the chippys fault, and moreover a glitch in the online payment selystem (Nochex?) they're using but it detracted a little bit from the experience. However, this will not put me off, I'll just plan it better next time and actually order in person instead. Good stuff overall!

Seriously delicious vegan chicken and chips! Mushy peas are great too! Soooo accommodating and great to see local places offering vegan options! And not just your bean burger alternative! Highly recommend this place! Service is always great and they are so welcoming and kind!

I went here on a Saturday night and it was very busy. Even with it being busy my service was amazing! They were quick and such lovely chatty people. I had the mozzarella sticks with sweet chilli sauce. They were nice and hot and the sweet chilli sauce was so good. Ive tried a couple of their sides and they are all lovely. The ones that really stood out to me was the halloumi fries, spicy chicken strips and cheesy chips. My friend had the haddock and said it tasted very fresh. I would definitely go here again in the future and would recommend this fish and chips over any others.

The two friendliest guys I have ever met. Always smiling and happy to accommodate anyone. Food is exceptional. Service just as good. I can not give high enough praise. Has to be tried.

On a late afternoon adventure from Didcot I happened on Wantage, strangely though I've lived in Oxfordshire for sometime now, I've never been, as the evening drew I felt my stomach rumble,calling for much needed sustenance I the happened on Wantage chippy, on entering the atmosphere was pleasantly vibrant, the service was an experience to be reckoned with and the food was fantastic to say the least, I can see myself making regular trips to Wantage just for the experience

First and most definitely, the last time we go to this chip shop. Was given our order of cheesy chips, the cheese had not even started to melt, so we tried a chip from around the edges they were a tiny bit warm, then we touched the middle of the chips, freezing cold. We took them back to explain, and the man just kept saying they were not freezing. When we said they actually are, he told us they are not. So in the end we said OK.... well, they are not exactly hot are they, for him to answer, they are warm.

Really pleasant staff, very friendly and offered additional sides to my order. Cooked fish to perfection with extra crispy batter. Cooked to order not sat around heated up from lunchtime or earlier in the day. Very clean and inviting shop this was my first visit but certainly won't be my last. Highly recommend and have already told others to visit them. Great food thank you. 🐟 🍟

Tried when first opened and it was really good, went there again tonight and I'm really disappointed. My fish and chips were extremely greasy, there was so much grease the box was falling apart. The batter on the fish was soft and the chips were a bit under cooked. In a town with so many places to get fish and chips you need to up your game

This was the first time we had visited the Wantage Chippy. I placed a relatively large order of fish and chips for relatives from America and parents in a local nursing home. It was a treat for all of us to share together. It was an absolute success. The service was excellent and the food was gorgeous. We will definitely be visiting again but are incredibly grateful for their part in a lovely family celebration.

Fish n chips cooked fresh and now as good as the one in Grove but better because they take mobile payments. Portion was large!

Purchased sausage in batter and chips..the chips where scrapes and the sausage looked good and crispy in the hot display but the server decided to dip it in the oil before putting in bag which made both very oily and greasy.. think need to cook to order and not try and warm up in oil to save time and result in a bad experience.

Chips could do with cooking longer The fish was good batter wasn't greasy Mushy peas were mostly sauce with only a few peas and just warm Curry sauce was good

Best chips we have had in years. Very friendly stuff. If you don't try out their chips you are missing out. I highly recommend them.

Very friendly staff and very clean shop. I’ve been there 3 times now and every time the chips needed another 5 mins as a few were still a bit hard (and I prefer them crispy). I probably won’t be going back

Mozarella sticks were really good and the medium chips was the perfect size for me and my sisters to share. Great quality and kind staff
