Wan's Take Away in Kingston upon Thames

Pretty fine chinese food compared to little hunan. Price was ok, malaxiangguo was pretty good.

I ordered quite late but shouldn't matter was very dry and very bland

Good cost for such a large portion of food especially when you are still a college std. Love their spicy food bowl. Used to come here a lot when I studied in Kingston U.

Visited this takeaway due to a craving for food. Ordered a chicken curry with egg fried rice in one container for around £7. Food was really delicious and good value for money compared to some other places charging nearly £10.00 for the same dish and for a smaller quantity. I would definitely come back if I lived in the area.

Best Chinese in the area. Food always arrives piping hot, not too greasy, very fresh and very flavoursome. I don’t go anywhere else.

Last night I experienced something new: a extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement- they have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for takeaway dining ... not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking Wan's Take Away, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in the United Kingdom. I will be returning to Wan's soon, hungry for more.

Tried this place for the first time this evening. Its by far the best Chinese I've had in long time! We had about 7 different things off the menu and each one was amazing! Highly recommended!!

Our local takeaway. Always piping hot, honest HK style dishes. Chicken balls and Kung Po Prawn are our favorites.

I am pleased with most of the dishes and portion size from soup, sweet & sour chicken, both prawns & chicken in black bean sauce and fried rice but fry noodles can be improve, it was tasteless. I will buy from them again.

My boyfriend and I order delivery from this place fairly regularly and have always been happy with the food, prices and portion sizes.

Me and my partner had our take away this evening and we really enjoyed it. The taste was amazing. I would definitely recommend to try. I had king prawns with squid & noodles So tasty for really good price. My partner Wan's rice special as always.

pork dimsum tasted like its spoiled. red bean dimsum was ok. I could smell they don't use fresh oil to fry prawn cracker. surprising ppl seem to like their prawn crackets in their reviews

You nees to know to speak their language in order to fully communicate with them. The food is not that great either.

The best thing about the food was the prawn crackers, crispy shredded beef had no beef at all and just tasted like batter. The chicken balls had more batter than chicken which is a shame, the vegetable tofu stir fry was part cold and the same goes for the pork dumplings, had high hopes for the place as it’s got 4.4stars

Been ordering here for the last 20years, since the last 2 years the orders are never right, the people on the front never understand, and when we polity complain they don't care or make a mends, very sad and would say if you order from them make sure everything is correct before you take it. We won't be ordering again, we went across the road and much better and the service was great.

I really like this Takeaway. They are always fast and delicious. I like their chicken wings and fried noodles very much, and the boss and employees are very friendly.

I always order 155 & always there is never any salt in it despite me complaining numerous times. Or they made it extra salty last time. The front desk gal glares at me & they throw my order in front of the divider and is very very rude. Completely opposite from the very friendly guy who used to work there before.

We found this place randomly and ordered our basic meals. The quality of food, portions and price blew me away. Of course, there are certain food better than others but in general, this place really nails it. I don’t really like their soup as it’s too thickened (personal preference) but I do like their noodles (particularly ho fun) and other stir fry dishes (we ordered the mixed vegetables). We didn’t order any seafood so can’t really comment. The dimsum is good too -we had the red bean, pork cha siu and my daughter really loves them. We got the peach lotus buns too but didn’t really like it that much (too sweet and the bun is not soft). But in general, we like this place and would highly recommend and will order again, for sure! I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s a small chinese takeaway business with a lot of potential and hopefully this review will help in anyway.

Waited an hour and 15 minutes for our order that never arrived. Won't be using again.

Best traditional tasting Chinese..

I've been eating here for many years, the food is great! They have a large variety in their menu and very decent pricing. One of the best places for students to grab lunch or dinner. It a 2-3 min walk from the university.They have a lunchtime loyalty card so the every 9th time you eat there its free. Since its a takeaway, the eat in area is small. But they serve free fresh fruit as you wait and the staff is friendly. Recently they have also introduced delivery service. Definitely recommended!

Awesome food - I lived in Singapore for many years and the food here would pass the standard there for sure. The fried ho fun was particularly good.

I’ve been ordering food from this place for years now and lately the service and quality of the food is downgraded. The lady that took my order over the phone was quite rude and when I went to collect the food I wasn’t even acknowledged. She kept talking to her mate in the kitchen while handing over the food. No thank you or no bye. Unacceptable behaviour.

The lunchtime deal is good value and the food was fresh and tasty.

Fantastic first order! Sweet and sour chicken, black bean beef, egg fried rice - all delicious! Quarter aromatic duck a little dry. But overall I have to say, best Chinese in Kingston area by far! Can’t wait to order again! Previous 5 star reviews speak for themselves!

The only Chinese restaurant around I’ve tried that actually tastes like Chinese food. Beyond that, it’s good, cheap, fast, and the containers are always packed to the brim.

Got take out from Wans tonight for the second time, the first time was the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had, the second time was the new best Chinese takeaway I've ever had! The food is absolutely amazing, really clean tasting (if that makes sense), unlike some Chinese takeaway which is greasy and a bit stodgy. And the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We had the chicken Fried rice and the chicken sweet corn soup have to say their prices are very reasonable and honestly quite yummy food

A variety of food, fusion-style food can be good for even westerners. Relatively not expensive price allows a lot of people to enjoy it. Keep in mind if you take away your order, its price become lower.

Amazing cheap Chinese food ! £4.80 for this lunch box deal. It was cooked very fast, as the restaurant was not busy, but the food was super fresh and hot. The lady was super friendly as-well. Best quick lunch!

Great quality food, reasonable prices and a huge, diverse selection of dishes. Highly recommend their "dry pot", or their £5 combo meal. Also, the chap at the counter during evenings is very friendly, top lad!

Avoid avoid avoid!!! I can't believe they gave us food that had already been cooked and then reheated. It was a bit smelly.

We had a takeaway yesterday which was pretty good. We had the mixed starter which comes in a box with two each of prawn toast, ribs, satay skewers, spring rolls and some crispy seaweed. The satay sauce comes separate and wasn't quite as good as I've had elsewhere. We then had crispy shredded beef and the lemon chicken - both of which were good. Once again the sauce comes in a separate container so you can dip it later and use as much or as little as you want. The chicken and the beef were both quite crispy although I've had better lemon sauce. I had a to wait a while but that shows that it is all freshly cooked. Note that it is CASH ONLY - no credit cards. I've attached the latest menu (as at Feb 2019).

This place has fed me from the beginning to the end of my time at university. Wans's Chinese takeaway is the best there is. I always get cheap seemless first class services from staff whenever I visit and I have never had a bad experience with wan's food. Over my 3 years I have also built a friendly relationship with the fella behind the counter and ask him to come to my graduation. Sadly he declined 😔

Great food in big quantities, extra points for their amazing Red Bean Bun. The only downside is the fact they don't accept cards at the moment.

Taste good but don't expect good manner

This is by far the worst chinese food i have ever seen, totally inedible. In my opinion it was food that had already been cooked and then reheated, absolutely disgusting. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE

Disgusting takeaway and terrible service. Spent almost £40 and cannot eat any of it. The ribs were overcooked till they were tough like leather. It looks like most of it was cooked and then re-cooked. Probably been sitting around for days then sold to me. Other dishes like ginger and spring onion squid and duck pork rice were bland and chewey. When we called to complain about the state of the food they offered nothing. Not even an apology. STAY AWAY!! Warning!!! Bad takeaway I'm hoping I don't get sick from it.

I THINK IV'E FOUND MY NEW CHINESE TAKEAWAY. Ordered from here for the first time tonight as my normal Chinese takeaway has gone down hip in the past couple of months an i've got to say I was not disappointed. It arrived hot and on time. The special fried rice was the best I've ever had, ordered the regular but a good size, as was the chicken chow mein. The beef in black bean was delicious. The salt and pepper squid was lovely although ever so slightly on the salty side but would definitely order again. My only real criticism was the batter on the sweet and sour chicken balls was a bit on the doughy side but the chicken inside was Nice and juicy. Would highly recommend. I will be posting a review on my next visit, hopefully it will be as good as this time.
