They accommodated us even though online there was no avail showing. Quick call to the manager and he sorted it out for us. Food & Service was brilliant. Best ribs in sw London. The roast dinner was fabulous too.

I have to disagree with a lot of reviews on here. We have just been for a Sunday roast on Mother’s Day and despite how busy it was, the service and food was exemplary. nothing was too much trouble. we were seated in a quiet area as requested. I am aware that mistakes sometimes happen, but there certainly wasn’t any today. 10/10

Good Italian style food at an affordable price. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. We attended on a Saturday for brunch and it was not busy. We need more New Maldeners to get behind our local independent restaurants!

Good neighbourhood restaurant. However, they should have more options. I wanted to have a burger; but they don't have anything without ham! I found that to be pretty surprising these days.

Just ordered for the first time from Harlem and we was left really disappointed. Our double pattie burger was extremely small it was size of a kids burger and was missing half of bottom bun. Chicken burger was tiny bit bigger but also not a decent size burger. We are burger lovers and was really looking forward to try this place out. What a shame as looking at the reviews and peoples pictures it looks like as it was delivery order no one cared and just slapped whatever in the box.

Very strange burger don’t think meat was cooked felt very ill that night, very expensive burger for what you get and strange taste was expecting to be nice but really wasn’t, I probably should of realised when it was lunch time and nobody is eating in there, lovely friendly waitress though.

We came for dinner on Saturday night and had such a great time! It was our last “date night” before having a baby and they made it extra special for us. Staff were really friendly and the food was fab - would recommend the pizzas and cheesecake. Had a nice vibe, not too loud but still buzzy. We’ll be back (with baby)!

One out of five stars from 'Ash Ash' there... a man who recommends 'Bar Malden's food' over this place's grub. Hm. Still he's written 143 reviews so sure he's on the money... I write this review mainly because of the exceptional friendliness and welcoming attitude of the general manager, who let us in today at 9am and made us coffees and offered us food. Exterior and internal decor were pretty and have hugely improved a faded high street. Excellent hospitality from a place that looks like it has opened to cater to the afternoons and evenings, but which cannily offers better alternatives to Starbucks/Costa/Nero before midday.

Update 03/04/24 I note review by user O O calling me vindictive, given the reviewer has not stated their name I can only assume that they are in some way connected to the venue. I will be visiting the venue at some point this month since I hear they have had a change of management since my previous well under par visits and will update accordingly. Update: Food has gone down hill. Staff rude. Not recommended. Go to Bar Malden for a Mii Asian meal (yes the setting is not as glamorous but the food is 10 times better) or across the road to Al Forno. Not recommended. This place has potential but it needs to decide what it is - trying to be everything and doing nothing to a good standard. A shame as I think the place in Earlsfield owned by the same company have done it well. TVs/Music too loud - can't hold a conversation. Only two toilets for quite a big venue with a bar/drinks area just isn't sufficient. Guiness not great especially at £6.50 a pint. Food overall very good but service can be lacking.

My family and I were eager for brunch at Harlem, advertised until 13:00. Despite arriving at 12:50, after being seated following a wait, we found ourselves neglected until we had to request menus. By 13:02, when we tried to order from the brunch menu, we were informed it had been discontinued at 12:40, contrary to advertised times. The manager, when approached, failed to provide an explanation for this discrepancy. Faced with disinterested staff and subpar service, we chose to leave. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend dining here and will not be returning.

Delicious pizza and wonderful service

Very nice place for Sunday roast. We have roasts, pizza and chicken wings and the food was cooked to perfection. Also very generous portions and the kids have a great time too - huge portions for the kids! The atmosphere and decor were also fab! Will return :)

The food was excellent and so was the service, but the atmosphere was a bit to loud for my liking. I loved the pork ribs as they were perfectly tender.I would recommend to come here and I'll definitely come back.

Sunday Brunch with kids and adults, great food, lots of young familes. Well spaced out tables so people are not on top of each other. Great time!

I adore this place for quiet daytime meals and quick drinks. Adorable decor, very personal service, and a good menu of pizza, pasta and burgers, plus a great cocktail menu. Quiet enough to lose yourself in a book with a pile of wings and a coffee mid afternoon, and mercifully free of the noisy children that plague the local coffee shops! But a nice atmosphere and a very well curated playlist of music that doesn't feel like that has been overlooked.

Can't speak highly enough of Harlem New Malden and their excellent staff, especially Hajar and Ellie. Friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much. I was late for my booking so rang them. Hajar was totally understanding and it was not a problem. It was so nice to be welcomed without an issue. Speedy good service and great food in a warm and relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and will be going again !

We were very unwelcomed when we entered. We asked for a high chair and they didn’t bring them for about 5 minutes, so we had to stood up until it was set. Ordered drinks and when they came out, she placed them very aggressively. Before we pay the bill, asked a staff to call a manager and surprisingly, unwelcoming and rude staff turned out to be a manager. Told her what we felt but she just said sorry to avoid the situation. She was welcoming and friendly to every other table but us. We were the only Asian family there, so felt very discriminated. Won’t be going there ever again.

Love this place. The service is always great and the food is delicious. Really recommend the veggie full English.

Food was great, if you have a sweet tooth try the skillet cookies and ice-cream. Great staff, cheerful. It was quiet on Friday evening which was a surprise probably about half full.

Christmas dinner was top notch. Highly recommend. We’ve also been here for brunch and lunch. Best brunch option on the high street.

Really excellent early Saturday dinner with the kids. Excellent service. Good beer. An EXCELLENT Buffalo Chicken burger. Fun colouring and crayons for the kids. I look forward to coming back without the kids for cocktails and a later dinner.

Harlem is a fun and welcome addition to our little high street. The food is very tasty, if just a bit pricey. They're running a £8 lunch special right now on pasta that is a great deal however. Friendly staff and a nice vibe, I'd love to see a slightly bigger food selection.

This is the best place in New Malden. So glad this arrived on our high street. Buttermilk chicken burger is amazing. Staff super friendly too. Will make a regular.

Just a really good place to eat, and get drinks. There aren't too many people there which truthfully is better that way, there's nothing worse than eating somewhere that's overcrowded. Definitely the best pint of Guinness locally. I usually only leave a review if my experience has been bad, but I like this place.

Walked in this evening to get a table. Openly ignored by 3 members of staff whilst I waited to at least be acknowledged. The restaurant was not busy and the staff were either talking to each other or seemingly trying to avoid eye contact with me when a simple ‘hello, I’ll be with you shortly’ would suffice. I decided to eat elsewhere as it was incredibly rude and I felt they did not deserve my business. This is my third time visiting with people who wanted to try. The service has been Lacklustre previously and the food is no better than most casual dining places. Atmosphere is undecided and odd - it appears unsure what it is - a bar? A restaurant? A sports pub? Music is too loud and intrusive. I would not recommend. This place has a lot of potential once it decides what it wants to be.

Really great brunch, big portions and really tasty. Staff were attentive and were very apologetic when a pork sausage was bought out instead of a vegan sausage.

Took my wife for our anniversary to this lovely restaurant. Service and atmosphere is amazing. The decor is stunning and very trendy, they absolutely nailed it! The oysters and cocktails were top shelf and the food was good. We had steak and ribs. A bit pricey but they do have some decent priced dishes like pizza and burgers. We will definitely return and try some of the other food soon! I definitely recommend this place!

Nice atmosphere, great waitresses. Sadly the food was very average if i wanna be generous. I had lasagna and it was with pulled beef but taste and texture was so bad. Wouldn't really recommend for food.

Very nice restaurant serving great food, great feel and decor. Superb service and staff. Well worth a visit.

Went for brunch with the family and a friend, waited around an hour for the food to arrive! There was no communication from the staff with no updates on why the food was taking so long, the restaurant wasn't busy, there were only 3 tables when we arrived. Food was dry, sourdough was as hard as a rock and burnt at the edges. They added a 12.5% service to the bill with no apologies for the delay in food and lack of service. Harlem you really need to look into your customer service. Will not be returning and will not be recommending this place. Overall a pretty disappointing experience.

Brunch for 7 of us. Food came out fast and was really tasty. Staff friendly and accommodating, and love the decoration. Would 100% recommend :)

Brunch on Saturday - fabulous food, excellent service, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Had two children with us who were given colouring activities to help keep them entertained. Will definitely be returning.

After I finished the starter I was asked if I wanted clean cutlery then I had a pepperoni pizza had no taste and was salty

+ good decor (especially the facilities!!) + really good brioche bun burger, spicy and sweet and cooked well + good drinks + nice service - chicken tenders (starter) seemed to be mass-bought and cooked from frozen… - expensive (£40pp, shared starter, one main each) - not the busiest place, this being a quiet Greater London suburb, although I can’t blame it too much for this. The place might get busier as NM develops. - not really a fan of the sport on TV. Is this a sports bar or a restaurant?

We went last week with my friends for dinner. The welcome was very warm and the staff very welcoming. The food was amazing and we all enjoyed it. Defently we be back there for more. To be continued 👌🏼💯

very beautiful restaurant, good food, but horrible service, few employees, it seemed that they were lost without knowing what to do, not to mention the Manager kicking someone out of the restaurant who was going to takeaway with a lot of arrogance, a horrible scene to behold, Ridiculous, you take your family to have a good time, and this is what we get.

Great place for families. Went for an early brunch (late breakfast) with family and 2 kids. Staff was excellent, very thoughtful and suggested things for the kids. Food was excellent. Huge portions. I have the avo on toast which was well above expectations (featuring roast tomatoes, dukka, poached eggs and hund curd). Kids devoured pancakes with various toppings. Coffee was EXCELLENT. Good all round. My only negative was the huge TV was on, not great for atmosphere

A great new place to eat in New Malden. Service was attentive but not pushy, you can tell the staff enjoy what they do and it creates a nice atmosphere. The food arrived quickly but it was a quiet evening so hard to say if this is a rule or our luck. We had oysters (very fresh and nicely prepped), chicken parmigiana (tasty and a very generous portion) and mushroom melt cheeseburger (tasty, but the large flat cup mushroom pushed the other fillings out of the burger so I had to scoop most of them off the plate, maybe consider using some kind of mushroom reduction to intensify the mushroom flavour and help the burger stick together? Porcini or penny bun mushrooms would give an even better flavour, even if rehydrated from dried form).

The decor was pleasantly eccentric (a +), but the tvs made it feel less restaurant like and more sports bar/restaurant which personally was not to my taste. There weren't many patrons when we dined so given the size of the restaurant, the ambience/atmosphere wasn't great. The food was slighly above average (we had burgers, mac and cheese, pizza and a pudding) though I have never been served a burger at a restaurant with no garnish on the side. Just a burger plonked on a plate. If you want fries, that will be extra and at £4.50, I expected a larger serving - not a handful served in a small metal cup. Would I recommend the restaurant?...only if you are willing to pay above average for slightly above average food. I certainly have had burgers elsewhere equal in taste but for less and it came with fries. As for the service, it was ok, but the t-shirt uniform gave the servers a scruffy look compared to the surroundings/decor.

Well decorated venue, good music choices, but very empty . Service was not bad. Polite helpful waiter. Although the food did take a little long to arrive. We ordered burgers which were nothing special, but infact very average. However you would expect an average burger priced at £14.50 to come with chips and not have to pay another £4 for a very small portion. Very over priced. You could just go to the weather spoons down the road for the same burger for half the price with chips. The starter was buffalo chicken tenders with blue cheese sauce. They were overdone and dry and definitely not tender . The blue cheese sauce had good flavour but was to thin. But by far the most disappointing dish was the mac and cheese. Looked great. However had and overpowering taste of mustard and tasted nothing like mac and cheese. I'm really only giving 2 stars for the decor and the waiter. The food is not that great for the price and I definitely would not go back. Next time I'm in new malden I would much prefer to go to alforno , k Town or even weather spoons to be honest considering the price they are charging for very average food. Overall experience just not worth it.

Visited last night for the first ‘oyster Tuesday’ oysters for £1.50 each! They were perfectly presented with a great shallot vinegar, delicious. Had loads of wine and a scrummy lemon sorbet and Prosecco cocktail. The service was great. The venue looks super. Can’t wait to go back.

Really brightens up New Malden High Street - much needed! Absolutly lovely building, awesome decor, and amazing cocktails! The manager and assistant manager were lovely, helpful and gave a vibe that you could be anywhere! Great service! Absolutly loved the Espresso martini and the special 'sorbet cocktail' the manager made, it was so good! It's great - just need more vegan options please, then will be very, very happy. Harlem is a brilliant addition to New Malden's high street. The menu is modern and varied - delicious options for brunch, lunch and dinner and a great kid's menu too. It's family-friendly with welcoming and attentive staff. The decor feels vibrant and cool and I think they host screenings for big sporting fixtures too...something for everyone I'd say! Definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch with a friend. Loved it. Staff were very friendly, the place is really cool. About time, the local area had a new spot and this is great. Big screens, able to accommodate sports and other events. Food was really nice and the price is decent. Will come again for dinner next time, but was very impressed.

This is a great addition to the New Malden scene. The decor is super, the staff friendly and the food delicious. The ribs are the best I’ve tasted! We’ve also used the ‘click and collect’ service a couple of times for pizzas. It was great, ordered on the train, pizzas ready to collect as I walked home, perfect 👌🏼

I had designs on paying a visit for a pint, but upon reading the reviews I was unsure. The whole having chips separate to burgers seems quite regressive to me. Having been to The Earlsfield the food menu is fairly reasonable and it has a walk in type feel whether you’re eating or drinking and chips are generally included with mains. The prices on the menu at Harlem seemed out of step with the sister location because of this and you’d expect them to be cheaper if anything in New Malden. I popped by about 1815 on a Tuesday and the place was completely empty and all tables seem setup for dining. It looked like there was a well stocked bar, but it didn’t seem like walk ins were a thing and given it was empty and most other places busy on the High Street I didn’t bother. Hopefully they can iron out what is going wrong here as it clearly isn’t working. If The Earlsfield was a successful model than why not follow it. They failed to replicate the best bits somehow and it seems like a bit of a cash grab. Perhaps deciding whether you’re a restaurant or bar would be a good start. If they don’t sort it out soon I can’t see it lasting too long, which is a shame as New Malden is quite uninspiring, but so is Harlem it seems. Update since my review: about 20 five star review appeared within 24 hours of this review mostly from people who haven’t only one or two reviews to the name and all similar and generic with no reference to specifics or the staff. There were only about 50 reviews in a month before then and between my review and all these new ones appearing the evening in question there was not a soul in there. Buyer beware.

Service was fantastic from the get go. They were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The staff were knowledgable of the menu and answered any questions we had. The pizzas were fantastic, best I've seen in a restaurant. The decor was also great, it's nice to see a place put effort into this sort of thing, rather than a "that'll do" attitude leaving the venue looking bland. Would highly recommend anyone else to visit.

*****UPDATE ***** we were motivated to give the place a second chance. Much improved. So I've moved to ****, couldn't move to ***** due to initial experience with NICK. Was served by Hajar, a lovely young lady who gave us a brilliant service, food great, staff happy and smiley. Whole family loved it and will all return... We attended as a group of 9 the food was excellent, slow but excellent. ****INITIAL REVIEW***** Decor was cool, the designer did a good job However the service was dire. 2 coffees never arrived but were charged. Very slow to bring hot drinks, waitress had no idea about ingredients when asked. Total mess up over the bill. Paid by card as they don't accept cash and then they apparently refunded me in error the following day. This resulted in calls and emails from them to me chasing payment even thought the apparent refund was their mistake. I paid in full on the day and no refund had actually been received by me (still not received 2 days later). The prices are average but should be lower for the level of service If they improve their service massively I might return.

High expectations and I had been looking forward to visiting but we left quite disappointed. My burger patties were pretty bland and over-caked in sauce. Not £15 worth. Always find it annoying when chips/salad are sold separately, and for nearly a fiver, the side order of chips was really lame and not freshly cooked. A rip off. My sons pizza was greasy and over-cheesed as was my wifes’ aubergine dish. Ambience was okay but we had to move away from our original table next to the draughty door. I love a bit of football but the 4 big screens were bit overkill imo. Service was fairly prompt and courteous. Average food, over-priced. Hoping they get a measure of their audience and raise their food standards and adjust their prices as this could be a great addition to the high street.

This just made New Malden a little more exciting and was JUST what NM needed! The vibe, food, drinks, service and price points are all great! The food is good enough to be served at a London restaurant! Everything seemed freshly cooked by a PROPER chef, and nothing seemed like it was taken out of a freezer and heated up. This will officially be my go-to for dinners in NM. I had the Cowboy Candy Burger, and couldn’t recommend it enough. I was expecting Harlem to have average food (being a restaurant based in NM), and thought burgers could potentially have a dry, boring beef patty. So I had a lovely surprise as it turned out to be juiciest and tastiest burger i’ve had in a while! The Cowboy Candy burger came with TWO juicy beef patties served between a toasted brioche bun, fresh crunchy lettuce, onions, tomatoes, American cheese with this delicious mildly spicy yet sweet Jalapeño relish. We could tell they really didn’t scrimp on their ingredients. My friend had a Sough-dough Pizza which was delicious, and shared a Cheese cake and a Cookie Skillet which were equally delish! Brunch: Tried their version of a full English for brunch and wasn’t impressed. The portions are small, nothing special and expensive for how little you get. They also stop serving brunch at 11am which is very early in comparison with most places that serve brunch.

Great new bar on the high street. Worth a visit and nice to see some effort with the decor. Staff are young and could benefit from a bit more training on the menu/ drinks prep, but they try.

As there is no option to give zero I'm giving one for the decor - however the table for six was so narrow that it felt like we were sitting at a bench. Burger £14.50 came without the chips - tiny cup of chips cost another £4.00!!! And that's before expensive drinks. The pizza £13.50! but had no tomatoe base and was undercooked (not in pizza oven) and had to be returned - never seen a pizza returned in my life! My friend asked for Parmasan cheese which seemed to annoy the manager who instantly took the pizza off the table and he took it back to the kitchen without letting her choose how much she wanted and he didnt ask her. Eventually he came back and the pizza was loaded with more parmasen than she wanted. No one else with their pizzas were offered any parmasen and they didnt dare ask as they didn't want their pizzas taken away out back out of sight. The beer £6, the 'cola' £3.50 a glass and was flat as water and squash - but manager reassured us it was not supposed to be fizzy - reminiscent of badly made homemade fizzy drinks - disgusting. They did replace it - they said - but new drink was as flat as first one. We didn't hang around for desert and we didn't get loads of drinks.

Situated in an old bank this place is a great addition to the high street. Bar at rear for those who don't want to eat.

Nice to see a new restaurant on the high street. Love the vibe inside. The food was very tasty and service was great. My only criticism would be some items on the menu were slightly expensive. £13 for some cocktails (outside of central?! ) over £5 for a side of chips to go with a burger (although the sweet potato fries were excellent) so I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe these higher prices are to be expected now...

We did not have food so cannot comment on this. New dining place in New Malden, lovely decorated bar end of the restaurant. After our first visit, we thought we found a new more upmarket bar place in New Malden vs what's around. However second visit was a total disaster, they changed to bar code ordering when it was not even busy. Very long process as you have to download an app and pay for the drink. Then our first drink arrived but not second one... we are 2 people but did not occur to them to check. Then we chased drink and they brought wrong drink, sent it back. Then supervisor comes in and ask what we ordered as they cannot find it on their app. I did not create an account so could not show them the order but only amount paid. She took my words brought the drink but asked me to look for order and show them afterwards. So back to the app, entered my email to get receipt and went back to the till to see supervisor to show her. She ignored me talking to the manager until I said excuse me I have the receipt. Downside of technology when you make it to complicated it does not work. Had to speak 4 times to someone for a drink order, ridiculous never again. In relation to menu we never went for food as never seen such a boring Italian menu. Final stroke why put football games on in the restaurant when people are dining... I understand for bar but restaurant? You are not a sport pub! Same night other Italian in town is packed when this venue is two third empty... such a shame we had so much high hope for this new venue after we saw the lovely decor.

It may be that we should have chosen a different restaurant, there were a lot of us but we couldn't really have a conversation as the music was loud and the manager wouldn't turn it down a bit. Quite pricey for New Malden. £150 for 4 of us with just one bottle of wine. Take note - if you want a veggie burger tell tge waiting staff. The "mushroom burger" on the menu is a meat burger with a mushroom in it. Very, very lovely staff but the music was too loud and our waiter couldn't hear us.

We live in New Malden & are so glad that we have a new place to go for dinner or just cocktails! I'm veggie & love the fact you can turn any of their burgers into veggie burgers by swapping the patty. The pizzas are also delicious too!! Every time we've been the service has been great & we will be back again very soon!

The service is awful. They got my order wrong and then I had to wait 20 mins for the correct food which I then had to eat in a rush as the others had finished. The manager didn't want to make any offer for the shoddy service so will happily go elsewhere. BTW I never bother posting reviews but the service was that bad and I was that annoyed I feel obliged. Also, we wasn't the only table to get a wrong order!

Amazing experience, highly recommend for the locals in new Malden.

The concept is great with sports on TVs and a great trendy restaurant which New Malden needed. However, service is lacking (we were on a table in the corner and spent a lot of our time waving for staff to catch our attention to be served) and food is very average pub grub. I wouldn’t recommend a cocktail and would instead look at the wine and beers on offer. Pricing is as expected. In short we will return to take advantage of the great spot to watch sport but would not book for a special occasion or to take friends.

Welcome addition to the high street - the food was excellent. Tables were quite close together.
