Harlem in Kingston upon Thames

I didn't have any food (just wasn't hungry, is all), but my friend's lunch looked delicious. I just wanted to say that the customer service was EXQUISITE! All of the staff were so kind and welcoming, very friendly and professional. Would definitely come back! The espresso I had was very nice, and it came with a little biscuit, adorable 😊

i may be addicted to the ribs here… We just moved here and this is our place to go after work, on the weekends… Food is amazing but the team… Well, everyone would be lucky to have them. They are the friendliest and the best.

I went to this restaurant after wandering around New Malden without knowing anything or wanting to eat. I went in for lunch, but since it was the weekend, they only served brunch at that time... I was thinking about leaving, but I was lazy so I sat down and ate. Well, wouldn't it be weirder if bacon, sausage, eggs, and bread weren't delicious... I haven't tried the other menu items, but they are worth eating. If you are visiting this area, I recommend you give it a try. Personally, it’s better than the famous Watchman pub in the neighborhood… Well, here, I ate bacon, sausage, eggs, and bread, so there’s no comparison… It’s different from what I ate there… Still worth eating... Because there was sausage in it

Highly recommended - food is always delicious and really high quality. Friendly staff and great decor! Bar area is also lovely, I've attended a few drinks nights there and its always been enjoyable.

What can I say…fantastic place…service team is impeccable.. great connection immediately with the customers. I will definitely come over every time so be prepared! 😊

The carbonara is authentic made with egg yolk not bechamel sauce. Fantastic! The meatballs are great also.

We've been to Harlem a few times now. We've never had a bad meal here. Really feels like they make an effort with the flavours in all their dishes. We've had brunch at weekends several times and a few lunches. Staff are always so welcoming and friendly and always a safe bet when we have friends or family visiting.

We had lunch at Harlem on Sunday, the lasagna was absolutely gorgeous

Good food, very tasty pasta and lush steak. Ribs were good too. Service efficient and pleasant.

We've been a customer here ever since they opened about a year ago. At first, service was a bit clumsy, but these guys got better and better with time. The food has been outstanding from day one. I definitely recommend Harlem to anyone as it's really hard to fault any aspect of this place. Fantastic staff, fantastic vibe, fantastic food; what else could one possibly ask for!

Their burgers are really good. Service has always been with a smile and attentive but not over-bearing. Music can be a little loud for my taste though. Can just go to watch the football too

Went to a friend's leaving party and had a great time. Definitely improved since the last time I was there.

My lasagne tastes so bad it look like just mixing all the categories in the plate. The burgers are wet, but the pasta is excellent. And the service is great.

The food was honestly 10/10. Nicest pub food I think I’ve had. Young gentleman who served us was very polite & professional. Will be returning.

Nicely decorated and good atmosphere. The food is average and some dishes were very salty. Steak was overpriced as were the side dishes. The peppercorn sauce was watery and lacked flavour. Pizza and garlic bread dough was soft and chewy with a good crust. Disappointed with the lack of garlic in the garlic bread. Enjoyed the Mac and cheese however this is quite a mustardy dish. Would recommend the ribs as they were melt in the mouth and had smoky bbq sauce. Cocktails were average. The food needs some more refinement to justify the cost especially as everything sides, sauces etc come at an extra charge. Service was good and attentive. Family friendly and a real mix of clientele frequenting.

My daughter and I love eating at Harlem. They always make us feel welcome. The food is absolutely delicious and the potions are very generous and the prices are affordable. We can't wait to go back there.

A friend and I dined here last night and were served by both Sebastian and Josh who were absolutely incredible, they were so helpful and didn’t make anything seem like it was too much of an ask. The food was incredible we both really enjoyed our meals. Amazing service and food we’ll definitely be coming back!

Harlem is fantastic. Great for food and cocktails in the evening, but it is also hands down the best brunch option in both New Malden and Raynes Park. The staff are super friendly and helpful, with impeccable timing. I don’t think I’ve been anywhere that the welcome, the drinks order and the food order are so perfectly spaced out - not so quick to feels rushed, no so long you feel abandoned. Thus seems to extend right though the service, which is attentive and welcoming but unobtrusive and efficient. The foods really good too. A properly varied brunch menu (Italian rosti, Filthy Avocado, pancakes and Full English are all excellent.) Coffee is top notch, best cappucino I’ve had in ages.

The customer service is very good here. The staff are polite and attentive. The pizza is OK, however Wetherspoons pizzas at the Watchman are slightly better. Next time, I'll try something different from the Menu.

Parmigiana was decent, marg pizza could have had a little more cheese, the rib sauce was a bit bitter and the mushroom burger lacked flavour. Decent food but wouldn't say it was Italian as such.

Been eating here since it was opened. A few slightly disappointing trends over time, which I’m hoping is seen as constructive feedback to enhance the experience which is largely very good indeed … The pizza, whilst still very enjoyable, started off a little smaller and more deep dish (was so much better!). They’ve gone a little flatter now (perhaps to appeal to the masses) but personally I preferred the earlier version. The chicken tenders in particular have been overdone and dry on several occasions and for the price have been really disappointing. Burgers are very enjoyable. Good selection of drinks and cocktails. Staff remain welcoming and friendly.

The place seems to have a new manager who is a big improvement on the last manager, they now seem to have found their way and have the music at a decent volume, the TVs off when not a big event on and overall a much nicer vibe to the venue. I have not given the food another try yet but will do in future to see if that has improved too.

Went in last Saturday , we are so excited to try their menu, so the staff gave us the order menu and asked to choose from it, so after few minutes,we are ready to order but she said we can't choose any from the menu as they only serving brunch and kids menu, why gave us the full menu and didn't remind us regarding this, she said she did mention it over the phone as my husband made reservations, but unfortunately my husband's didn't remember that, so anyway we did ordered the full English breakfast and pancakes but sorry to say their food was so dry and it didn't satisfy us, we always eat out but this food was way too far from what we are expecting . Definitely not coming back.

They accommodated us even though online there was no avail showing. Quick call to the manager and he sorted it out for us. Food & Service was brilliant. Best ribs in sw London. The roast dinner was fabulous too.

I have to disagree with a lot of reviews on here. We have just been for a Sunday roast on Mother’s Day and despite how busy it was, the service and food was exemplary. nothing was too much trouble. we were seated in a quiet area as requested. I am aware that mistakes sometimes happen, but there certainly wasn’t any today. 10/10

Good neighbourhood restaurant. However, they should have more options. I wanted to have a burger; but they don't have anything without ham! I found that to be pretty surprising these days.

Just ordered for the first time from Harlem and we was left really disappointed. Our double pattie burger was extremely small it was size of a kids burger and was missing half of bottom bun. Chicken burger was tiny bit bigger but also not a decent size burger. We are burger lovers and was really looking forward to try this place out. What a shame as looking at the reviews and peoples pictures it looks like as it was delivery order no one cared and just slapped whatever in the box.

Very strange burger don’t think meat was cooked felt very ill that night, very expensive burger for what you get and strange taste was expecting to be nice but really wasn’t, I probably should of realised when it was lunch time and nobody is eating in there, lovely friendly waitress though.

We came for dinner on Saturday night and had such a great time! It was our last “date night” before having a baby and they made it extra special for us. Staff were really friendly and the food was fab - would recommend the pizzas and cheesecake. Had a nice vibe, not too loud but still buzzy. We’ll be back (with baby)!

One out of five stars from 'Ash Ash' there... a man who recommends 'Bar Malden's food' over this place's grub. Hm. Still he's written 143 reviews so sure he's on the money... I write this review mainly because of the exceptional friendliness and welcoming attitude of the general manager, who let us in today at 9am and made us coffees and offered us food. Exterior and internal decor were pretty and have hugely improved a faded high street. Excellent hospitality from a place that looks like it has opened to cater to the afternoons and evenings, but which cannily offers better alternatives to Starbucks/Costa/Nero before midday.

My family and I were eager for brunch at Harlem, advertised until 13:00. Despite arriving at 12:50, after being seated following a wait, we found ourselves neglected until we had to request menus. By 13:02, when we tried to order from the brunch menu, we were informed it had been discontinued at 12:40, contrary to advertised times. The manager, when approached, failed to provide an explanation for this discrepancy. Faced with disinterested staff and subpar service, we chose to leave. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend dining here and will not be returning.

Delicious pizza and wonderful service

Very nice place for Sunday roast. We have roasts, pizza and chicken wings and the food was cooked to perfection. Also very generous portions and the kids have a great time too - huge portions for the kids! The atmosphere and decor were also fab! Will return :)

Sunday Brunch with kids and adults, great food, lots of young familes. Well spaced out tables so people are not on top of each other. Great time!

I adore this place for quiet daytime meals and quick drinks. Adorable decor, very personal service, and a good menu of pizza, pasta and burgers, plus a great cocktail menu. Quiet enough to lose yourself in a book with a pile of wings and a coffee mid afternoon, and mercifully free of the noisy children that plague the local coffee shops! But a nice atmosphere and a very well curated playlist of music that doesn't feel like that has been overlooked.

Can't speak highly enough of Harlem New Malden and their excellent staff, especially Hajar and Ellie. Friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much. I was late for my booking so rang them. Hajar was totally understanding and it was not a problem. It was so nice to be welcomed without an issue. Speedy good service and great food in a warm and relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and will be going again !

We were very unwelcomed when we entered. We asked for a high chair and they didn’t bring them for about 5 minutes, so we had to stood up until it was set. Ordered drinks and when they came out, she placed them very aggressively. Before we pay the bill, asked a staff to call a manager and surprisingly, unwelcoming and rude staff turned out to be a manager. Told her what we felt but she just said sorry to avoid the situation. She was welcoming and friendly to every other table but us. We were the only Asian family there, so felt very discriminated. Won’t be going there ever again.

Food was great, if you have a sweet tooth try the skillet cookies and ice-cream. Great staff, cheerful. It was quiet on Friday evening which was a surprise probably about half full.

Christmas dinner was top notch. Highly recommend. We’ve also been here for brunch and lunch. Best brunch option on the high street.

Really excellent early Saturday dinner with the kids. Excellent service. Good beer. An EXCELLENT Buffalo Chicken burger. Fun colouring and crayons for the kids. I look forward to coming back without the kids for cocktails and a later dinner.

Harlem is a fun and welcome addition to our little high street. The food is very tasty, if just a bit pricey. They're running a £8 lunch special right now on pasta that is a great deal however. Friendly staff and a nice vibe, I'd love to see a slightly bigger food selection.

This is the best place in New Malden. So glad this arrived on our high street. Buttermilk chicken burger is amazing. Staff super friendly too. Will make a regular.

Just a really good place to eat, and get drinks. There aren't too many people there which truthfully is better that way, there's nothing worse than eating somewhere that's overcrowded. Definitely the best pint of Guinness locally. I usually only leave a review if my experience has been bad, but I like this place.

Walked in this evening to get a table. Openly ignored by 3 members of staff whilst I waited to at least be acknowledged. The restaurant was not busy and the staff were either talking to each other or seemingly trying to avoid eye contact with me when a simple ‘hello, I’ll be with you shortly’ would suffice. I decided to eat elsewhere as it was incredibly rude and I felt they did not deserve my business. This is my third time visiting with people who wanted to try. The service has been Lacklustre previously and the food is no better than most casual dining places. Atmosphere is undecided and odd - it appears unsure what it is - a bar? A restaurant? A sports pub? Music is too loud and intrusive. I would not recommend. This place has a lot of potential once it decides what it wants to be.

Really great brunch, big portions and really tasty. Staff were attentive and were very apologetic when a pork sausage was bought out instead of a vegan sausage.

Took my wife for our anniversary to this lovely restaurant. Service and atmosphere is amazing. The decor is stunning and very trendy, they absolutely nailed it! The oysters and cocktails were top shelf and the food was good. We had steak and ribs. A bit pricey but they do have some decent priced dishes like pizza and burgers. We will definitely return and try some of the other food soon! I definitely recommend this place!

Nice atmosphere, great waitresses. Sadly the food was very average if i wanna be generous. I had lasagna and it was with pulled beef but taste and texture was so bad. Wouldn't really recommend for food.

Very nice restaurant serving great food, great feel and decor. Superb service and staff. Well worth a visit.

Went for brunch with the family and a friend, waited around an hour for the food to arrive! There was no communication from the staff with no updates on why the food was taking so long, the restaurant wasn't busy, there were only 3 tables when we arrived. Food was dry, sourdough was as hard as a rock and burnt at the edges. They added a 12.5% service to the bill with no apologies for the delay in food and lack of service. Harlem you really need to look into your customer service. Will not be returning and will not be recommending this place. Overall a pretty disappointing experience.

Brunch on Saturday - fabulous food, excellent service, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Had two children with us who were given colouring activities to help keep them entertained. Will definitely be returning.

Brunch for 7 of us. Food came out fast and was really tasty. Staff friendly and accommodating, and love the decoration. Would 100% recommend :)

After I finished the starter I was asked if I wanted clean cutlery then I had a pepperoni pizza had no taste and was salty

+ good decor (especially the facilities!!) + really good brioche bun burger, spicy and sweet and cooked well + good drinks + nice service - chicken tenders (starter) seemed to be mass-bought and cooked from frozen… - expensive (£40pp, shared starter, one main each) - not the busiest place, this being a quiet Greater London suburb, although I can’t blame it too much for this. The place might get busier as NM develops. - not really a fan of the sport on TV. Is this a sports bar or a restaurant?

We went last week with my friends for dinner. The welcome was very warm and the staff very welcoming. The food was amazing and we all enjoyed it. Defently we be back there for more. To be continued 👌🏼💯
