Cappadocia in Kingston upon Thames

After trying so many digferent Turkish restaurants in London, this is definitely one of the good ones. Taste wise closest to the original dishes too. Giant portions!

This is a message to the owner I have been in the food industry for 25 years and what makes you different from other Turkish restaurants is your homemade bread unlike your competitors who use frozen factory bread 😔 you are using mind blowing fresh homemade wraps and pitta this makes me travel 10 miles and passing more than 20 kebab restaurants to reach you. Well done Cappadocia 👏👏👏

We’ve honestly lost track of how many times we’ve eaten here—or how many friends and family we’ve brought along over the years. It’s become our little “welcome to Kingston” ritual, and for good reason! The food never misses. My go-to dishes? The Zencefilli Tavuk (that ginger chicken is ridiculously good), the giant tiger prawns with rice—such a perfect combo—and the Iskender Kebab, though I always go for the chicken version (lamb’s just not my thing). And we can’t forget the freshly baked bread—warm, soft, and gone in seconds—especially when paired with their creamy hummus or refreshing cacik. Wash it all down with a glass of their lemonade, and you’ve got yourself a perfect meal. If you ever find yourself in Kingston, do yourself a favour and give this place a try!

They would not speak to me and will not answer me and when I was in the line they would not sieve me in the end I walked out the food was good but the ppl who worded there not good

Went for my mums birthday with family. Booked for a table of 10 and got the really nice window seats looking into the restaurant. Wasn't expecting anything special until the starters came out. The fried liver was pretty amazing. The spices and aromatics was like demi-god level. The ingredients was fresh and tender. Got the mixed grill as I wanted to try a bit of everything they had to offer and I thought that was the best choice, until I was the other dishes. Lamb shank - massive portion and the doner kebab platter was so good. Waiter was loud but polite. Dishes were presented beautifully. The decor is a bit dated imo. Like a seaside cafe down east coast. Thank you very much for giving us the best table as a family even when we went without making a reservation. The waiters were very good. The food was great. Congratulations, I hope it continues like this.

I bought 2 wraps, döner and lahmacun. The meat had a very bad smell, it was spoiled and we had stomachache and diarrhea after the meal. I have bought kebabs from this restaurant many times but we were not satisfied at all for the last 2 times. Also, since they didn't put the salad in a separate package, all the salad water leaked into the wraps in the package.

We ate here on Sunday afternoon. Generally it was good but with a few negatives. We ordered the tzatziki and humus and the flavour was amazing. Then we had the sharing platter. The marinade on the meats were amazing. My problem was the lamb was quite tough and hard to chew which was disappointing as the marinade was awesome. The service was almost mechanical and slightly slow. A smile would have been great but this didn’t happen. It was a large platter and we asked for it to be boxed up as we couldn’t finish it which was no problem at all for the staff. We finally got the bill and it came to just under £75 which I thought was quite expensive considering we just had the sharing platter and tap water. All in all it was an okay experience in a very busy restaurant. If I had gone to North London to an independent restaurant it would have been around £35 for what we had. Most restaurants would have included the tzatziki and hummus in the platter. Oh and in the past I have had a takeaway doner from here and was the best kebab around

Had to throw this meal away drenched in so much oil, if your the type to want to eat ‘clean grilled’ food don’t come here because even the rice is drenched in oil. I put my takeaway on my car floor and my floor mats were covered in oil. Might aswell eat a fried chicken burger from the shop next door. Really upset my stomach this meal really disappointing and a waste of money.

Food is amazing with polite excellent service from Hass, Haci and staff... Its a must for all occasions...

I have been going here for years and yesterday was the service was shocking. Arrogant staff where one waiter expected us to use one menu between the 6 of us. Constantly trying to flag the waiters down as they were gathered together by the till not paying attention. The manager or head waiter just had an attitude even when asking for sauces he said "yeah they are coming" in a rude tone yet one guest had their mains for 10-15 minutes already without any. Won't be returning again.

I've been to this restaurant multiple times—both for small dinners and large work events—and I can confidently say it never disappoints. The staff are consistently friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond to accommodate any request (even last minute), no matter how specific, and they take allergies very seriously, which is always reassuring. (We had several allergies in our group). The food is fantastic—high quality and absolutely delicious, whether you're ordering meat, fish, or vegetarian dishes. Everything is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Whether you're planning a casual meal with a few friends or a formal dinner for a large group, Cappadocia is a great choice. I’m always impressed with the level of service and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. I honestly couldn’t be happier with the overall experience. Thank you!!

Very good lamb shish (and belly dancer on Thursday evenings) ...

This is a lovely Turkish restaurant located very close to Kingston railway station. It has a large open plan layout with comfortable bench seating along the walls. The menu is relatively small but we had no difficulty in finding something to our taste. Indeed the food was truly delicious. The quantities were very generous and we ended up taking a “doggy bag”! We noticed other people doing the same so maybe the amount served should be reduced a little.  Service was very friendly. Recommended.

Went here for a family dinner. Was the best food I have had in a long time. I got lamb and aubergine with bechmel sauce which was unreal my boyfriend got the lamb shank which was so tender! Thank you Hass for the five star service !

The food was stunning! …so delicious with both delicate and vibrant flavours. The refreshing cold Meze were prepared with attention to details. The succulent meat were cooked to perfection from the lamb, chicken and kofte shish to the creamy lamb and chicken Doner and each with distinct flavours between them. The service was excellent and special thanks to Fey, Mustafa, Cio and Lhsen for taken such good care of us. We’re definitely coming back with lots of friends.

I regularly visit the Kingston branch of Cappadocia, and it’s been consistently great. So far, I’ve tried their lahmacun and various kebabs — all have been delicious and genuinely reminiscent of the flavors you'd get in Turkey. That level of authenticity is hard to find, especially in London. If you’re in West London, it’s definitely worth giving this place a try!

One of the worst Turkish food I had in my life. All meat dishes are served in excessive sauce, even tandir which is never cooked with sauce in traditional Turkish cousine. Islender served in massive tomato sauce. Arnavut cigeri served in massive spice that you can not taste the liver at all. Service is bad, we asked my daughter’s meals to be plain with no sauce at all but still received tandir in sauce, no information upfront that it was cooked in sauce. Prices are too high vs the quality Only pide and lahmacun are worth to eat Would never go again

We used to go to this restaurant 10 years ago before we moved from London. Still great quality and nostalgic tastes.

I’m a big fan of Turkish cuisine, bulgur, lamb chops, and all sorts of different kebabs or shish meats, this is the spot you want to try if you love it too, absolutely amazing !

I asked for a shish lamb regular size with salads and sauces, all came after few minutes and it was very tasty, freshly made plus portion size was very good for the price. It seems that staff is very friendly and professional.

We used to come here a lot when we lived nearer.We visited Kingston and thought we would have a takeaway chicken kebab Absolutely lovely. Beautiful chicken pieces and packed with salad etc. Vert busy but nice friendly service.

Tasty food and excellent attentive service

Went to this Turkish restaurant expecting a nice meal, but left completely underwhelmed. The waiter had a lot of attitude—rude, dismissive, and made us feel like we were bothering him just by being there. The food was another letdown. Everything was dry and lacked flavor—definitely not what you’d expect from Turkish cuisine, which is usually rich and well-seasoned. To top it off, they charged us for bread that’s normally complimentary at most Turkish places. It wasn’t even mentioned that there would be an extra charge. Would not recommend. Plenty of better options out there where you’ll get better food and actually feel welcome.

Service was fantastic, great sized portions, delicious food, great choices and relaxing atmosphere. The mezza platters are great to try and it was really fast but not rushed.

Went here as my friend recommended it, food was nice, cooked and tasted fine, service was ok. When the bill came, over £86 for 2 mains and 5 drinks, I didn't check the bill for a service charge, yes my fault but we was chatting and never gave it a thought, so I paid the bill on my card and gave the bloke a £10 note, he took it and never said anything. It was only later that day my wife said she thought it was a lot of money for what we had eaten so checking the bill I noticed the service charge had been added of £9.80. food was ok but nothing amazing, shame the waiter hasn't been honest with me, yes my fault but I won't be going back as I feel like I was mugged.

Charging £19.50 for a simple lentil soup is unreasonable and feels like blatant overpricing.

This was really nice. I had the lamb shank dish which was phenomenal (swapped rice for potatoes). Service was friendly and attentive. We were in a group of 9 on a medium-busy day and we got our food without unnecessary delay. I would go again.

This is a good restaurant which serves delicious food. The waiters are friendly and attentive. My experience today wasn't great as I sat down to enjoy my meal with my parnter, only for the waiters to be standing nearby yapping away. If there are issues please resolve them somewhere else and not on customers head. The noise of them yapping made me uncomfortable and unbearable.

I was extremely careful in choosing a meal which I thought might be easy and freshly prepared, so I ordered a seabass. Sadly it was perhaps a tinned fish as it was neither fresh with incredible strange salty brown red sauce. I ate the fish carefully avoiding the sauce. Unfortunately I had significant bloating and discomfort at night and this happened always after eating NOT FRESHLY PREPARED FOOD

Was told by my partner that the lamb just melts in your mouth so I agreed to go with her last Saturday Lamb Shiah was over cooked and chewy Overpriced also Bade restaurant in Teddington is a far better Turkish restaurant

We are turkish and Indian family. This is such a homely place. The staff are so kind & helpful. The food is so delicious, like my husband's grandmother used to make. Cannot reccommend enough. Thank you for bringing some home to Kingston.

Feels authentic and is delicious. Beyti Sarma excellent and a lamb doner to share. Excellent cheese baklava thing I can remember the name of for desert. And mint tea was tops too. Nice touch Turkish delight mouth cleanser with bill, could eat a sack load. Fantastic.

This is undoubtedly the greatest restaurant in the entire of England. There is no better place outside of Turkey to experience the delicious Turkish food! The service is also very good with friendly staff and the food comes very quickly.
