Waltham Tandoori in Winchester

Had a waiter boat person surve us who could not speak any english, 10 min with sign language with him then the manager came over he was rude due to us asking why there prices are 3 times more expensive then other indians, he was more intetested in bills in the tills and we was the only ones there, we left, never go back

Very nice takeaway meal , must go back and try some other meals

Enjoyed the most delicious meal this evening, celebrating a birthday with friends, We were even given a complimentary Baileys at the end!

Food OK, service awful, we felt very rushed, and the waiter kept stretching across a guests plate to reach for another guests plate. The place needs a complete refurbishment, as it feels greasy and dirty.

I would cook at home rather than having from this restaurant

Always nice food and friendly service. Occasionally the manager gives me a discount on my 'beer while I wait' which is much appreciated. I'm always in super early so the atmosphere is quiet. A very good local!

Onion barjis were hard as rocks. Also, Had a korma was like slop lamb tender but salty. No taste to korma and bishops walrham special. Was nothing special believe me. My advise would be steer clear. Over priced and cold.

Hit and miss, the latest visit wasn't great. Luke warm main course not ideal.

A great meal, in a comfy location. Parking is available at the rear or in the library (when out of hours).

I mean WOW, what a place, curry tick, waiters tick, women tick. It’s fun after fun. Zairul wow what an amazing waiter. Humble, friendly and respect. LOVE HIM!!

I only had their takeaway but the food was very good...my one gripe was the sauce on my lamb vindaloo, which was far too watery. Nice, but nowhere near thick enough, which is how I like it. Obviously had I eaten in, then this could have been easily rectified... so that's why I am going back to experience their in house dining. This is a very popular venue and their all you can eat buffet is always well supported. I do like the fact, that unlike many Indian restaurants... here you can enjoy a draught pint of Cobra beer and not be paying £5.70+ for a 330ml bottle of whatever!!! I'll update this after my next sit down meal.

Ordered a takeaway husband collected and we asked for 4 poppadoms opened the bag and we had 1☹️ We normally have no problems. Disappointed tonight

Awful food, service.was terrible, everything seemed too much trouble, and gave us onion rice when asked.for.garlic and them.tried.telling us it was garlic.. spent alot of money was 15 of us and not even offered.complementary drinks...also a few had bad bellies the next day, wont be going back

Just rediscovered this place after having not been for over two years. Great tasting food and plenty of it! Good choices available. The service is very good and the team are friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a lovely family meal out last week. A couple of parking spaces at the back of the building, but a large car park just a short walk away in the village, means this is very accessible to us. However, if the weather is good, we are fortunate to be able to walk here in about 10-15 minutes.

We had an absolutely delicious meal at Waltham Tandoori- the presentation was fantastic, flavours varied and distinctive. Lovely staff, excellent attention to detail, all in all absolutely couldn’t fault this restaurant. Great value for money .

We had a really great meal here the staff were great. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Call to make an order and give them my postcode and they started shouting at me over the phone saying I don't need your postcode give me your address. Weird, rather not order from a place where that attitude is accepted.

It's been years since I was last here & wanted to go back because the food was so good. I was not disappointed, the food was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and we had a fantastic evening

Poor quality in 5 different dishes. No seasoning and hardly any spice. Something gritty in one dish - it was nasty.

Ordered takeaway to collect from here. Service is efficient but effective and the meal was good quality.

I would have to say this would of been more stars as the food was good, but the service really let it down. We found the member of staff serving us very rude, everything seemed a bother, even just asking for water was my met with a abrupt attitude. Shame as food was rather good. I would of given 4 stars if the service was even tolerable at best.

Great takeaway food with excellent delivery service

Really liked the food from this place but they clearly don't care about allergies. Told them about my food allergy before I placed the order, have been twice before so wasn't an issue. When I got home half the food had my allergen in it and I can't eat it. I called back to complain especially since I saw it written down and the guy I spoke to hung up on me. I live 30 minutes away so it wasn't reasonable to drive back to return the food which is what he wanted me to do. Wouldn't give me credit towards my next meal either. It's an ALLERGY not a preference. It's a shame as we were happy to make this our regular. Won't be back.

Great service and really tasty food, been a couple of times now and really enjoyed the food and dining experience. I highly recommend the garlic chilli 🌶 chicken 🐔 😋.

The food And friendly service I received on the Monday made me drive 40 minutes round trip on Tuesday to go back. I live in London and work nationwide so I have a little experience of Indian cuisine...,Try the Harri-Ali chicken, so banging!! Id also be sceptical about negative reviews as they are likely from a worried competitor.

Despite asking the driver to deliver to our back door he delivered to the front and shouted quite rudely that his car was parked and couldn’t go to the back! We always normally tip the delivery drivers but not this time. Also couldn’t eat the chicken in my Korma as it was rock solid. Absolutely disgusting couldn’t eat it at all. Very disappointing and won’t be eating here again

We had a big ledge and was quoted an hour wait, it turned up within 30 minutes and was delicious. Will be back!

AMAZING…. We dined here for New Year’s Eve and almost did not attended after reading the last few reviews…. The staff where extremely attentive, food was to a extremely good standard and we did not have to wait long for drinks. Reasonably priced and a nice environment. Bhuna and honey chicken is recommended. Cobra delicious.

My wife and I went for a meal with a friend. Gentleman serving us kept trying to argue with us about what we wanted to order; no idea why? When the food came some of it was undercooked and the rest of it was just massively over seasoned with cardamom to the point we couldn't taste anything else.

Don't no if its changed hands cause the usual people were not in there but had a takeaway tonight spent nearly 50.00 and it was awful. Chips very greasey curry no taste. Even the rice had no taste. Very poor. Been going here 4 years but won't be going again

Lovely food, friendly staff and good prices

Don’t let the smells for outside fool you as it seems utterly incredible. However upon visiting and actually eating here and trying out what they have to offer, I was severely disappointed. It seemed that it was acceptable to have everything swimming in grease/ghee and lacking the flavours and spices that make curry dishes so divine. I really had high hopes but nothing about it was great!

What an amazing takeaway, always clean inside, friendly and helpful staff, food is always delicious. Highly recommend the vegetable korma! Thank you for the delicious meals.

Best Indian around. Attentive service, food arrived quickly and was 10/10 - Only minor gripe was that the haps the popadoms were a tad oily but that's being picky. Highly recommend the Lamb Pathia. Will be back

Always enjoy the food from the Waltham Tandoori, the service is very good and the prices are reasonable. I was the only customer in the restaurant at 5pm on a Friday. You can buy a drink whilst you wait for takeaway.

One of the best curry restaurants I've been to in a while. Great for the vegetarians in the family especially the aloo chat dish. They are also managing the covid social distancing really well.

Ordered a takeaway as heard good reports about the place. Very disappointed, portions were small and the food arrived luke warm at best. Didn't correctly deliver what we ordered and had to call to tell them, in fairness the Naan bread arrived within 15 minutes after this. Thought was expensive for what was served and also wasn't much taste to all our meals. Understand takeawys are not always the best but wouldn't rush back here.
