Nos detuvimos aquí para tomar un trago rápido después de un día de compras de maratón. Los dos chicos detrás del bar fueron muy amables e hicieron nuestra visita a este lugar, que de lo contrario era un poco escaso.

Fuimos a Walrus ya que mi hija me había contado sobre el acto de arrastre y dijo que los cócteles tenían un 30% de descuento. Era un martes por la noche. Tuvimos una noche encantadora, un gran ambiente, los actos de arrastre fueron increíbles y los cócteles deliciosos. Nos sentamos en una cabina que era acogedora y cómoda. Group of us dropped in now Walrus has reopened under new management. Had a great night of music and cocktails. We will be back!

Went here recently for a night out as I've not been around Northern quarter much and I was really impressed with the venue and the atmosphere. It was a great vibe and I absolutely loved it. Me and my friend enjoyed cheap drinks, great cocktails and excellent music.

Walrus advertises “50% off food Sundays” - pizzas and burgers which should be ideal to cure a hangover..... Infact today’s visit made my hangover worse, with ridiculously loud music, the worst staff I have ever come across and dry, cold food. (In particular the lady serving behind the bar had a terrible attitude!!!) We won’t be going back in a hurry that’s for sure.

Went to eat on a Sunday, and it was deafeningly loud you can't even hear eachother speak at 6pm. Explained to the bar girl who just shoulder shrugged it off. We watched a further 2 couples all move from the bar to a quiet corner because it was so loud. Food was really cold, dry and bland, wouldn't recommend at all, one staff member did kindly apologise and had it remade, but end to end from ordering to getting second meal was 1hr. Not one to really write a negative comment and usually wouldn't but the service of the uninterested unapologetic female staff member was something that you just can't do and really needs to be worked on. We chatted to another couple in the bar who also said 'She's really rude isn't she?' We eat a lot in town but won't be returning.

The food and prices are amazing -specially on a Sunday. Always have a good night in here and there is a walrus head on the wall -he's cool.

Had the lunchtime pizza which was fab and the manchester bramble cocktail is my new fave! Good value and service.

I waited at the bar for 5 minutes to take my order without any acknowledgment from the 3 staff behind the bar. The barstaff rolled her eyes at me when I said I didn't know what table number I was. We ordered a starter and 2 mains. We waited over 30 minutes for our food which all came together. The flat bread with roasted garlic oil was awful. My burger patty was cold and dry and the pizza was just thrown together. The staff didn't apologise for the late meal (i could understand if they were busy but at this point we were the only people in there who had ordered meals) or come up to us once to see if we were enjoying our meals. Out of all the great restaurants in NQ it's annoyed me I managed to get an average meal.

Love a night out in the Northern Quarter, and Walrus would be my top place of choice. It's got a nice chilled vibe with options of different music upstairs and downstairs, plus seating for when your legs are wobbly from all the dancing. The staff are very friendly and they do some good cocktails. I was also here last year during the day for food with friends and enjoyed it.

Booked here to celebrate my sons 40th with a few family members and to combine this with watching the England match!! We had a table with a great view of the screen, the staff were fabulous and the barman who was Australian was pretty amazing. He worked so hard and was often serving several people at the same time and remembered every order! My son even received a free drink for his birthday . The food was good and considering how busy it was that afternoon, the food was served quickly and was superb. Great atmosphere, thank you, we will definitely return for a quieter meal and drink in the future.

Lovely location and setting inside the bar. The £5 lunch menu is great and is fantastic value for money. The service was friendly and fast and the drinks were great. Worth a visit any time you are looking for a good quality affordable lunch.

I personally think this place is a little bit expensive for the quality of food. I got a pizza from the lunch time deal (£5) and it was tiny. I asked for no courgette on my pizza but unfortunately it was already mixed in with the other ingredients that came on the pizza so there was no choice but for me to order a alternative, in which I was highly disappointed about as I liked all the other ingredients on the original pizza.

Had to take our own order, food arrived on wrong plate, burnt but cold, soggy chips, 7 knives, 3 forks for 6 people, ordered a vegan burger and it was meat, the staff turned down the lights to hide the burnt food. No customer service, staff was defeated and apathetic, over priced, took a long time and we were the only people in there. Inordinate amount of mayonnaise on the burger. Please don’t go here. Ruined our trip to Manchester. The lowest standard against which I will judge all meals. Couldn’t take any pictures of the food as it was too dark.

Came here on a whim to check out the new menu and boy was I impressed! I didn’t expect much knowing it primarily as a bar, but I was wrong! Really cheap and so tasty! Highly recommend the pizzas (absolutely HUGE!), the dirty pulled pork fries and the Kiev burger. Absolutely top. The drinks deals are great too, especially the Saturday daytime happy hour! Can’t wait to come back thanks a bunch!

I went in with my mum on a girls day and was immediately welcomed and served with our cocktails. A girl (who's name I sadly didn't get) went out of her way, not only to serve us but to give us some really interesting (and funny) background knowledge on porn star martinis! It's just the little things that make a trip extra special and now I've decided to bring my whole family there for my birthday meal! It's definitely my new go to!!

I've lived in the Northern Quarter for 5 years and this is by far the worst place to go, at any time of the day. I've given it a few more chances than I'm willing to admit, mainly due to friends wanting to try it, but each time it's been shocking. Bar staff very obviously ignore you and serve people who have been waiting a lot shorter time than you have. One couple next to me had been waiting over 15 minutes to be served, the guy politely asked the bar staff if she could serve him next as he'd been waiting ages and she stared at him, then ignored him and served someone else who had only just arrived at the bar. His girlfriend ended up having to walk to the other end of the bar to get served by the male bartender instead. Absolutely terrible customer service, the bar staff need to check their attitude.

Came here for lunch with my friend the other day. Service was a little slow initially but once we were served, our waitress was lovely! Think her name was Rizzo?? Very friendly, polite and attentive! Friend ordered the pulled bork burger and pizza fries, I ordered the vegan ciabatta dish with sweet potato wedges. The wedges were amazing! And the pizza fries looked great. My hummus toastie was very average, also a bit disappointing that the vegan pizza had no cheese when it’s very easy to buy!

Came into walrus today and was thoroughly shocked at the terrible service. We sat waiting for 15 minutes and there was not a single staff member in sight, we could even hear people working out in the back but no one out to the front. After a while one member of staff came from the downstairs level yet completely ignored us. She then served the table behind us and then walked off with no apology or recognition that we were even there. She went back downstairs and we continued to sit there wandering what was going on. In confusion and frustration we walked out, having not spoke to a single member of staff. If you’re in the area ‘dough’ across the road is very nice.

Servicio Asqueroso, ni disculpa para la grosería y la peor pizza que he probado nunca. No regresaré. He añadido una foto de la oferta que me dieron en el sitio web de hoy y la oferta que estaba presente cuando me fui a la morsa.

Stumbled across the happy hour offering by accident on Sundays. From 4pm all food is half price. My wife and I had a gluten free pizza and chips. Pizza was fresh and tasty (not always the case with the gluten free offerings elsewhere) and a couple of drinks. Competitively priced and good service. Will be back if in Manchester on a Sunday afternoon. Visited a number of times on a night out, always busy with good DJs.

Has to be one of the best places in Manchester if you just want to have a laugh and have a good old dance have never eaten here before but night life wise it’s a great crack music if perfect all sorts of new tunes all the way to old school r&b

On first impressions, this looks a winner. Nice decor, relaxed vibe, friendly service etc.No draught beer? Well, I was willing to overlook that! But then the pizza came and it was thoroughly, thoroughly average.Shame.

We wandered around our Airbnb reading menus after just arriving into Manchester. We were hungry and thirsty and new to the country/money/etc. We finally settled on Walrus and had a pretty good experience. The place was clean and tastefully decorated in a pinky-bronze modern style. The music was "trance" or modern hypnotic. (I am old and out of touch with modern speech.) The bartender/server was friendly and attentive. He recommended the happy hour beer special: two for five pounds, and my husband started ordering two at a time. We ordered a Walrus Burger and a BMT, both came with skinny fries. Our food was more than fine and plentiful. We walked out of there fed and watered and ready for bed. We will probably end up in there again because it is close, open late, friendly service and decent food.

Came here before a gig excited to check it out... ordered the pulled pork burger on the menu, only to be told about 30 minutes later that they had no pork. Rather than refund me after choosing something cheaper I was asked to choose 2 things of the same price. When my chicken burger finally came, it didn’t even have the ranch dressing in it advertised in the menu. Meatballs incredibly mediocre and unseasoned. My boyfriend had a ‘spicy pork and chorizo meatball’ pizza.... which was just bland meatballs on a fairly tasteless pizza. Cocktails were nice, however when asking for an ‘um bongo’ I got the exact same as when I ordered the solero, both very weak cocktails. The best part was the raspberry fizz. Watermelon cocktail also tiny and very disappointing for the price. The barman was very unattentive and disinterested when taking our order, probably why he got it wrong. Will not be returning.

Went here recently with my friend for a cheap Sunday meal. With the 50% off we thought it'd be naff, unfortunately it was late on and they had run out of beef burgers and pizza so the options were limited. I opted for an halloumi burger and my friend the chicken burger which we had half each and we shared some pizza fries. Have to say it was great and the long haired dude that served us was superb. I posted on Instagram regarding lack of options and the manager replied and offered for us to go and try a pizza which is excellent customer service. Well done guys a nice touch which we will look forward too. Overall a good experience. 7/ 10

I first discovered this place as it was one of the filming locations for BBC drama Cutting It, I wasn't planning on going in but looking at the menu I couldn't resist, The burger i had was so good, it was served on a brioche bun and came with skinny fries. They had a great choice of drinks and cocktails and the music playing was so cool.

Quirky cocktail bar which serves really good good. However the bar staff were amazing and made it an extremely pleasant night.

Popped in here during a Saturday shopping trip to Manchester with our daughter who had been the previous day with her friend. It was around 3:30pm and not very busy but or some reason they had a DJ playing loud music and because it wasn't busy there was no bodies to absorb the sound so the few that were in were having to shout to be heard.That said; they have a good selection of cocktails and the 15" pizzas at about £9 were a steal and quite tasty too.I guess it's a younger persons place though my daughter did have to ask them to turn the music down a bit (which they didn't).Nice food shame about the noise.

Group of 4 girls from London visiting for a night out. Whilst inside the bar we watched a white male start on a black male. The white male had been a nuisance for some time with lots of people (in my opinion he'd clearly taken something). The black males friends cooled the white guy down but the security then waded in and dragged out the black male for no reason. He wasn't aggressive or difficult and had done nothing. Absolutely wrong. We left soon after as we didn't like the vibe at all. The security continued to be aggressive and rude to the black male outside and to us when we defended him. Not a nice place.

I won a Groupon voucher for Walrus at work and enjoyed a very pleasant lunch that I would have been happy to pay for. Freshly made, enormous pizza that even my greedy husband was happy to share with a side of curly fries. Minus points for a cocktail served in a plastic glass. Other than that very pleasant. Would come again.

Decent atmosphere for a Wednesday night, busy enough and certain cocktails were 2 for £10 so a good deal. 2 bottles of San Miguel fresco for £5, you can't argue

Asked for two cokes and brought 1 and thought asked for a random cocktail.Ordered two burgers and two completely different burgers came, brought a vegan burger 2 min later and I had asked for beef took away made no apologies for any mix up sat for 30 min no food or explanation of what was happening 40 mins later burger came. Asked for two more cokes took 10 min place was nearly empty, as waitress for them again rolled her eyes like it was a chore...We were going to have drinks and cocktails but finished food had our glasses taken away no offer of any more drinks so we paid and left never to come back.

We called in Walrus early evening before a table reservation at a nearby restaurant.Cool design and interior, good ambience and excellent music (DJ mixing live).All good until we tried to get a drink. The bar was probably 1/3 full with a few empty tables - 2 bars, apparently 2 bar men but only one interested in serving. I gave up on the main bar as the barman was more interested in washing glasses than serving me. Moving into the smaller bar I waited patiently as this barman spent almost 5 minutes mixing 2 cocktails, whilst doing so he apologised for the wait and mentioned there were 2 bars - I looked over and the barman not interested in serving had gone to hide in the back room - as the only apparently interested barman continued to pontificate over the glasses of the now epic cocktails we decided to leave.This does not seem like a very sustainable business model to me; Bouncer on door, live DJ, high end decor - rubbish/no customer service.Very poor.

Sat and drank a bottle of pinot people watching out of the window being entertained by some half decent tunes. Not an unpleaseant afternoon. Wine seemed a bit pricey though in comparison to other places!

We popped in for a quick cocktail. My bf had a berry mojito thing and i had a pornstar martini... slow service, bartender didn't know what he was doing, dust in my coupe glass, the glass stunk, NO PROSECCO on the side... just a really bad experience.. will not go back at all.

Noticed this place had decent reviews and decided to stop by for a drink as we were in the Northern Quarter area on Friday afternoon. It was quite early but the place was quiet, only one other table occupied. Another couple of groups came in before we left. There was a decent sized cocktail list and we went to bar to order. The barmaid wasn't overly friendly or approachable and she got our 2 drink cocktail order wrong, giving us a 'Solero' instead of an 'Um Bongo'. The place has a kind of hipster vibe and is cool inside, all copper tables. Probably would be a lot better in the evening but not the best for afternoon drinks. I read that this place derives it's name from the Beatles song but didn't notice any references inside. Cocktails were £8 or so each. There looked like there was some interesting choices on food menu but we had already eaten. Stop by if you're passing but probably best to come here in evening time!

We went for a meal and stayed for the night out beer was cheap the food was well worth the money the waitress Rhiannon was full of energy and was happy to help us with anything the chef (dom) was happy to change anything if something wasn't right I would recommend coming here for food or a night out

Prominent position, cocktail menu is good. Average waiting time for a cocktail, had 3 here, first was the zombie, £9.5 served in a pint glass like you would get in the rovers return, the better looking of us had the solero, both good but the zombie was set alight and was difficult to see, I value my nose hairs, bar was clean and not too rammed for a sunny Saturday afternoon. Loud hen party downstairs running round with toilet roll on their heads, everyone having a good time, which is what a bar is about. Bar girl looked a bit hungover and had an instruction book but she delivered the goods. 2nd round was poor, cocktails looked like wetherspoons with nothing attractive. Third round same as first band was excellent again. Would definitely visit again.

I couldn't eat the fries. Friendly waitress took them off the bill but I felt sorry for her because her colleagues were just stood around chatting.The burger was ok - the bun was a bit dry/stale.Ridiculous considering the wait for food.

Called in as I like this bar on a night out but never eaten here, the bar itself was quite as it was early on a bank holiday Monday. Service was fast but the food is very low standard very basic and not appetising. I would recommend for drinking but not for food.

My friend and I looked over the menu outside and decided to eat here for lunch. We ordered nachos to start which were ok and burgers for our main. I had the pulled pork burger and my friend had the beef burger - both of which were dry and the bun seemed stale. The service was ok but a bit slow And the disappointing food means I won't be going back again.

What a fab place first time in and decided to give it ago. We both had the burgers with curly fries stunning and a nice glass of red too. Visited on a Wednesday night using a Living Social deal for pizza and prosecco. The pizzas are amazing - nice and thin and huge, too big to finish! They do offers on pizza during the week too. Good range of spirits and nice cocktails at the standard NQ price range, the staff were friendly and helpful too. Although the bar was quiet when we arrived just before 5, it was much busier when we left around 7. Comfy booth seating with hipster retro style decor - worth a visit.

Bouncers are absolutely disgusting !! Me and my group of friends went sober as anything and they were talking down to us like children. After a few hours we got told to leave because we weren't allowed outside, nearly leaving our friend on her own! It is nice inside but the staff let it down! We came in on a Saturday afternoon for a pre booked table. When we entered there was no direction as to where we went (it would benefit from a host stand). We stopped one of the waitresses who took us in to Tusk and after speaking to her colleague she asked two people to vacate a table for us! No one came to take our order or to ask if we wanted a drink whilst we looked at the menu and it was only when we went to the bar to order the bar man sent a waitress to us. The same thing happened when paying. But on a positive note the food was lovely just a shame it was not complimented with better service.

I have never been treated so disgustingly by a pair of male bouncers in my life. Started swearing and calling a group of girls names, let us in and then chased us through the club to get us to leave?Talk about power going to their heads. The second time visiting this shambles of an establishment, First was for food & second for drinks - Both shockingly bad experiences On Saturday, myself & 4 other males (all of the Caribbean decent) attempted to enter Walrus, all sober, calm and collected. Due to being a group of 5, we was refused entry! however there was a group of 6 woman in the queue that hadn't been refused - which to me is Discrimination because of sex! One of my cohort politely asked the bouncer, if the decision was gender or race motivated ... to which the bouncer replied "come on jackson 5, you've ruined it for yourselves now" which to me is nothing short of racism! This same bouncer looked intoxicated. I wouldn't ever recommend Walrus!

Popped in with the family for the lunch time pizza offer and was seated quickly and made to feel welcome - pizzas came quick enough and were piping hot and lovely - couldn't fault what we all had and we left satisfied.

We went on a Saturday early evening and got a table easily in a booth which was really comfortable. We had pizzas which were so huge I regretted ordering a starter. DJ played nice mix of RnB which was also fine for our kids in their early teens.

I visited here with a group of friends. When we entered the only table available wasn't cleared. A waitress said she would clean it and didn't bother to return. We waited for around 20 minutes for anyone to come to us with a menu or to clean the table. This was then with a very dirty looking cloth with no spray used. Staff were rude and just couldn't be bothered. It was as if we were a problem for them. When we ordered the waitress got our order wrong and missed off an item. Instead of coming back to tell us she brought the side at the end of our meal.The atmosphere is unfriendly and it is pretty unclean. More like a nightclub than a nice restaurant. When we went to pay the bill they had added on alcohol that we hadn't had. When challenged the waitress knew this but didn't pre warn us. Not at one point did anyone make friendly contact with us, ask us if our meal was ok or were attentive in any way. I don't know how they keep in business.Keep away at all costs. Spend your money elsewhere! I am appalled and really despise that I spent £50 on here.

There's a reason why this 'restaurant' is ranked number 1,073 in Manchester on TripAdvisor. Awful customer service, not enough staff, poor food and ridiculous waiting times all topped off with a rude, arrogant and patronising manager. A quick lunch soon turned into a 2 and a half hour ordeal. Save ya money kids.

Visited when down in Manchester seeing family and passed by noticing the lunch offer. The £5 offer is a great deal but watch what you order. I had the all day breakfast calzone which was probably the worst choice I've ever picked in any restaurant in my life, what a poor feeble attempt at food it was. I wasn't sure what to expect but a piece of bacon fat on placed in the middle of ludicrously thick dough accompanied with cocktail sausages and a couple of tomatoes was far far from expectation yet my partners americano calzone was said to be nice but not spectacular. The service was mesmerising, we walked in and there was no member of staff in sight and waited around the entrance for a while before sitting at the table near the door after that another 2 people came in and did the same, still no staff. At this point I didn't know that a person sat on a laptop sat on a booth actually worked there, completely ignored us all what a joke, didn't even go and get someone else if he was off shift just sat and ignored with the occasional glance to the bar to see if anyone had appeared to see us. Eventually someone appeared and served the other table that came in after us first. I wanted a latte but they didn't have a coffee machine. Who doesn't have a coffee machine?? They offered filter coffee which I was okay with but was left waiting whilst they went to the shop for milk and sugar. I drink coffee black but they never asked so was left waiting for my coffee whilst they strolled to the shop for a few items all the time my coffee was sitting on a switched off hot plate when it arrived it was Luke warm at best, I could of got a coffee from a costa machine in the same shop they went for my milk in a fraction of the time. We did not receive any check back during the meal which was a big disappointment as I felt so hungry and just felt let down by the bad food and service I couldn't do anything about it. Just be sure when you go, if there is any staff, be carful what you order or just pick somewhere good.

Came here earlier on in the month for lunch and drinks. Cool little venue and helpful staff - food was nice too.

This was our last stop after a 6 hour afternoon out eating and drinking !Reasonable prices if drinking cocktails at happy hour (2 for £10)!The place was exceptionally busy so we struggled to get seats at first. Bided our time and then sat and enjoyed.Great place

I went here with a couple friends. The food came out cold and was very bland. Quite disappointed to be honest. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger and a friend has a beef burger. Also my friends burger bun was stale I wouldn't recommend however, I have heard from others the pizzas are better.However the service was great and the restaurant was clean!

Myself and a friend went in for their £5 pizza offer, it's not an offer, it's just a really small pizza worth £5, the service was poor, we ordered chips which we had to ask for twice again, they finally arrived after we had finished, with no apology, and were under cooked. Just not worth the time.

I first visited Walrus years and years ago not long after it opened and ate there. It's changed quite a bit since then; have popped in a few times since but not had food. Visited on a Friday evening for a bite to eat, food comes with no napkins or cutlery unless you ask for it which I found a bit weird. Had a beef burger and chips, was OK but many better burgers out there in Manchester.On the drinks side, the menu states something along the lines of "want a cocktail that's not on the menu, just ask". Top tip, don't bother asking, they couldn't even put together a standard martini because it's "not on the till".On the plus side, at least there were seats available. However, don't think I'll be eating there again any time soon.

Out with friends Walrus good little spot for a cocktail and a beer. Bar staff great to speak to and openly tell you the offers available. If you're lucky enough to get a booth in the window you'll probably stay for the night, it's the type of place which is quite comfortable to be in. As the title suggest the music on this visit got louder and louder to a point where you cannot even hear yourself think. We had to leave before our ears started to bleed!Go back..... yes every time I'm out for a drink in Manchester

Firstly I love the music but secondly (and probably this should have been first) the drink and the food were fab! I went for the great deal on the Prosecco and some light bites with a friend. I have to say my slightly fussy specifications in regards to Chicken breast grilled without being immersed in the spicy sauce that it should have come with, was more than willingly obliged and they were so accommodating and pleasant about the whole thing that I was impressed enough to write a review! Prices weren't too steep and the customer service was spot on. They really get it right here and I've heard the cocktails are something quite special as well, all I know is the prosecco certainly is-- and so was my experience overall! Five star!

Visited walrus for a spot of lunch, however, it turns out to be a huge disappointment! Not only was the food mediocre, the £5 lunch menu stuck in the window was seriously missleading! The bill was £12 over what the offer stated & the staff wouldnt honor the price suggested. Terrible, try somewhere else

Rude is all I can say, and the food was cold, I really disappointing as I heard such amazing things, about the place.

The venue looked really trendy and inviting. For a midweek evening it was packed - so I presumed that it was going to be a hit. Unfortunately, although I was the only person waiting at the bar, it took almost 10 minutes to get served; not helped by someone who arrived a few minutes after me getting served first. I can understand on a crowded bar... but I was the only patron! Food took a while to come out and when it did, my pizza and my companion's burger were of poor quality. Would not return for food, and doubt I'd return for drinks.

I wanted to take my girlfriend somewhere to eat as we could not be bothered to cook.As there was an offer (50% off), it was a no brainier to attend. We both had a beef burger with fries which sadly were cold and uncooked. the staff were friendly but could not help us with replacing the meal. As I complained over the uncooked cold burger her response was 'well it is 50% off, what you expect', so she had a point but the rudeness is not what we expected. If we did plan to attend again, then I would expect the food to be hot and at least the staff having a more motivation with the customers. More polite, more tip for them. Problem was it wasn't busy so there can't really be a reason for it being cold.Awkwardly to say, I would prefer McDonalds then Walrus for this experience.
