I found this place by accident because it is opposite an Aldi supermarket in a part of London not often visited by tourists or central London residents. The area is becoming like Haight-Ashbury was to Sanfrancisco in the 1960s. Although quite by default. This has encouraged creative local people to open wonderful shops,a natural ale bar and tea room in the area. What is even more wonderful about it is how friendly Mathew the owner of Walnuts and honey is and even more astonishing is how friendly the customers are too. There is a community here like I haven't seen in London for years! I haven't been in a decent tea room in London ever accept for the Maids of Honour at Kew. Mathews take on the tea room is modern and different. Lots of high quality teas mainly sourced from Fortnum and Masons. Mathew's strogest point to his tea room are his freshly made cup cakes and their multi-flavoured buttercream icings. Their are other types of wholesome cakes too and savory snacks. But this is a modern tea room to carry on tradition with a modern twist. Mathew is really onto something standing behind the counter constantly preparing delicious cakes and serving pots of tea. Developing a rapport with his customers. This will never happen in multinational corporate businesses.In our modern world a new type of slavery has developed in corporate businesses of zero hour contracted, below minimum wadge slaves. They miserably work in cafe's and restaurants in central London and the atmosphere in those establishments are miserable. Compare that to the tranquil,welcoming haven of Walnuts and Honey the tea room of the 21st Century!
