This place feels super calm. Super relaxed atmosphere, caring staff and delicious coffee. Pastries are super cheap as well, between the 1-3 pound range, for what looks like home made or locally sourced produce, bargain! I didn’t try one but was definitely tempted haha

The best coffee we’ve tasted in the area!

Cute little independent coffee shop that we've visited a few times, located near the local park but easy to miss if driving past. The coffee is good (definitely better then alot of the high street chains), the staff are always friendly and they have a selection of cakes, pastries and sandwiches available. On this particular visit I ordered 2 flat whites, a chocolate almond croissant and a cookie. As it was near to closing time, the barista gave us 2 croissants and cookies for the price of 1 - Nice gesture. The coffee hit the caffeine spot as usual but I have to mention the croissant again - so delicious - Probably one of the nicest chocolate almond croissants I've eaten recently, glad the barista gave me two! Recommend giving them a try if in the area and it's always good to support small local businesses!

Random visit when in the area, and I'm very glad I went. Absolute top tier flat white, and well priced. Exactly the sort of coffee shop we should all go to and support, the quality speaks volumes.

Lovely addition to the area! It should really be renamed Nice little coffee shop as that is exactly what it is! Lovely staff, tasty pastries and from my point of view the best coffee in the area. We are lucky to have three very good local non corporate coffee shops and I find myself getting my coffee from this shop more and more. The coffee comes out perfect and consistent every time with the right flavour, right temperature and always served with a smile which makes a big difference. Keep up the good work and please continue to remain consistent. Only improvement I would say is making the seating area more comfortable but on a nice day you have a park right opposite so you can enjoy your coffee there.

The staff are exceptional - today I was greeted by a Swedish and Canadian couple who served me coffee, accompanied by world cultural music in Farsi, playing in the background and intelligent conversation. Independent coffee boutiques need to stand out from the crowd - their staff are there greatest asset - I would love to see them put on an event for International World Jazz Day 30th April 2022 with a one man/woman saxophonist inviting people into the coffee shop! Go ahead celebrate world coffee and music and love - Peace Love and Jazz!

This little shop rocks! Great cakes, (reallyyyyyy GREAT!!) amazing breads, stonkin’ volcano coffee and super chocolate milk for the kids. With the added bonus of all the zero waste products and many refills available it’s a vital component in the local sustainable community effort, and a much needed shop. As active supporters of the Friends of South Croydon Rec means there’s always something going on. We love popping in on the way to the park.

Great cafe and brilliant refill shop! A fully stocked refill shop with lots of the dry goods you'd want, at a reasonable price. A lot of eco alternatives to single use items, and the staff are happy to discuss what the options are. Probably the best refill shop in South London. Got a coffee as I was there, and easily the best coffee available in Croydon. A really friendly store.

I popped in here yesterday to get a few baked goods. The two ladies who served me were really friendly and helpful and explained all the items on offer which included croissants, pain au chocolats, vegan sausage rolls, bread and a selection of sweet treats. The shop is small, so there’s not much room but there is seating outside. They are a ‘no waste’ business, so there’s lots of bits to buy like nuts, grains, rice and pasta. There is also the option to bring ones own travel mug and have ones hot drink made in it to save on throwing away a cup. It’s quite exemplary for a “little coffee shop” in Croydon. I liked their lemon meringue cruffin but didn’t enjoy the spices used or the texture of the oatmeal and raisin cookie sadly. Their little sourdough loaf was great though and I found the pricing really reasonable too. A lovely, little place to try with a great ethos.

Popped in this morning to try a coffee as I'd seen they use Volcano Coffee, roasted in West Norwood. Pleased to learn they know how to make a good coffee. I had a flat white which was perfect, clearly a skilled barista. Very friendly service and conscientious business. Best Coffee in Croydon so far.

Zero waste options in South Croydon!

I ordered a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (very easy via the website), and it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Moist, delicious, and beautifully decorated - the best cake I’ve had in ages!! Really convenient to pick it up from the lockbox outside the shop too, and a quick response via text from the owners. All in all an incredible service. Thank you so much for making a lockdown birthday extra special! See you soon for a delicious coffee ☺️

My best friend lives nearby to this lovely little coffee shop and I thought it would be nice for Christmas to get her a selection of Christmas treats from here as I know she uses it regularly and I have popped in here with her for milkshakes and cakes, when I have been to visit her and her lovely girls. The customer service from this small business was incredible, she knew my friend by name and even knew that she had already ordered a Christmas cake from here and kindly recommended switching the Christmas cake in the order for one of her favourite Guinness cakes. Seeing as she had been so accommodating and friendly I asked as a special request if she could put English muffins in as they were a fond shared childhood memory of ours and Corene replied straight away and said she could, no problem. Such a lovely touch that you would probably never get from a large corporate company. I already felt great that I had supported a small business and their customer service really made it a very pleasant experience. I know this year they have extended their range due to covid to provide fresh eggs, milk, lockdown essentials for lots of the locals to have somewhere easy to get these things in a difficult time and just wanted to spread the word of how wonderful they are!

Great cakes, tea and coffee. But there is no T-Mobile signal and no functional internet--an expectation for any coffee establishment of this size. But for that it would garner a five star rating. Everything else--selection, savory menu, quality, atmosphere, service--was outstanding.

I love the Little Coffee Shop. The quality of the cakes and friendly service makes it a jewel in our community. They have adapted to a delivery only service since lockdown. Their latest innovation is a shopbox where you can collect your order. Ordering via their website or by text is so easy.

This place is just simply great, you're always met with a smile, consistently top quality coffee in quirky crockery with an ornate teaspoon sourced from many a gift shop. You might find yourself going in with a strong sense of will that you won't have a cake today but be warned you will and you will enjoy it. There is always a great selection of sweet & savoury options and normally a soup too so if you happen to be at a loose end at lunch it's a great shout. I could list countless ways which show the owners give a sh*t, not just about their own business but the local community and the environment. You'll just have to visit to see what I mean.

I came across The Little Coffee Shop by chance, on a long walk around South Croydon, and I instantly fell in love with it. The coffee is great, cakes are delicious, and the owners have clearly decorated that small place with a lot of love and care, just like the service they offer. It’s not just a place to buy coffee, but a place to see and meet caring, kind people. This place is like a magnet for kindness and goodwill. I can’t wait for it to reopen - even though it takes me almost half an hour to walk there, it’s a trip I’m happy to make so I can offer my custom to them. 💕

Amazing tasty baking and good atmosphere!

My wife and I are regular customers here. Since the lockdown we’ve used their excellent delivery service. We’ve always found the staff to be very friendly and the food and drinks to be of the highest quality. I recommend it without hesitation.

Our family love spending time at the Little Coffee Shop and, before lockdown, would visit most weekends. The owners are absolutey lovely and look after their customers so well. The selection of cakes is amazing and they taste even better! Very reasonably priced for the quality and perfectly situated opposite a park for the children. Thank goodness they have been doing delicious deliveries throughout lockdown, because we sure as heck couldn't have gone months without THE best coffee and cakes in Croydon!

Wonderful micro-cafe that has established itself as a beacon of community spirit as well as serving delicious home-made food. We are treated more like friends than clients - to the extent that sometimes we have to make a conscious effort to remember to ask to pay before leaving! There are really imaginative and unusual cakes in particular (blueberry one and the rhubarb one made with rhubarb from my allotment a few hundred yards away are my favourites!) as well as the more obvious usual ones. Vegans, vegetarians and food allergies are taken into account, too. Have yet to have anything that isn't delicious: I have to ration my visits for the sake of my waistline! Great savouries, ice creams, teas and coffee too, plus ethical items for sale, and loads of great ideas from the owners keep popping up. They've been a lifeline to the community during lockdown. Cannot recommend highly enough.

They’re a quick thinking, agile and very community focused business and family. I’d highly recommend any of their food and the products they sell. This is the most beautiful little coffee shop, a real hidden gem. We buy our eggs from there as you can bring your own box (if you prefer) and we love how eco friendly they are. The staff have always been so lovely on every visit. As well as cakes and sandwiches they also stock a load of eco friendly house and baby things, without plastic which is so nice to see. Well worth a visit.

Love this little coffee shop. Such a great spot to pop into when I’m going to the park or walking back from Sanderstead station. It’s always friendly service and the cakes and sandwich selection are diverse and cater for a lot of different speciality diets. They also stock a range of things like reusable cups and food coverings which make good presents. I recently ordered the Bacon Butty box they offered for Father’s Day and my husband loved this surprise. Delivered on the Sunday morning and full of goodies, it was the perfect start to the day and helping me make it special for him. Can’t wait to go back in when they reopen after lockdown.

Genuine and great having lived in Croydon for over 7 years and in South Croydon / Sanderstead for just over 3 this is unquestionably my favourite place for coffee, cake, snack and super friendly owners and guests. It’s small yes, it’s quirky yes and it’s absolutely perfect :)

Awful stale food. I am totally perplexed as to why this place gets so many good reviews. We were served stale food and only realised when home. Had to throw it away. Service was also awful and servers did not acknowledge us at all when we walked in. In such a tiny room you’d think this was impossible, guess not. Such a disappointment and owners are rude:

A very friendly and relaxed little cafe with a great community vibe. László and Corene are warmly welcoming and her baking combined with his coffee are simply the best! Additionally, László is an artist and there are many of his intriguing creations on show together with locally made gifts which, for me, is a very attractive feature. I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough and always enjoy my visits there - László and Corene have built an interesting hub of creativity and hospitality in an area which was was a bit nondescript before they came and certainly not the sort of place where one would think of going for coffee, but they have completely changed that concept and their cafe is always busy, with people dropping in all day to sample Corene's delicious cake and savoury snacks, so why don't you give it a try? You will be very pleased you did. NB, While we are all in lockdown, László and Corene offer an online delivery service which is proving to be very popular and can be found on Facebook and through their website.

The coffee, the cakes and snacks are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Marmite on toast over breakfast with a morning coffee. The barista also has a fantastic moustache.

Always finding an excuse to get over to Croydon so that I can pop in here. Everything is of the highest quality the coffee, lovely sandwiches on sourdough bread, the home made cakes(exciting, different and always something new to try) , the soups are inventive and soo tasty, the granola is home made too so always take some home. Laszlo and his partner really care about everything they do here and the service is impeccable. Blows most other coffee shops out of the water can’t recommend it highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A small but perfectly formed cafe where you’ll get a cheerful welcome and tempting homemade cakes and savouries. The milkshakes with their dollops of ice cream are superb. Great to have a place like this in the neighbourhood - there aren’t many cafes in the local area which have a focus on quality.

Funky, friendly little café with outdoor (and indoor) tables, opposite a park/playground. At the same time, they conveniently accept contactless payment. Nice iced coffee served in a jam jar with a bamboo straw. Great place for a coffee break while out househunting!

I had nearly given up on experiencing a decent coffee on my trip until I was taken to this little gem of a cafe. When I saw the 'All Blacks' memorabillia I prayed that the taste in coffee would be better, and it was. An establishment with character, delightful treats and fine coffee.

Lovely coffee shop in pretty location across from the park. Great range of nibbles, sweet and savoury, including v good selection of DF and GF options. Iced options. Ice cream. Highly recommend.

Delicious chai latte and quiche

Yes it is small but perfectly formed. The coffee is excellent, smoothies are amazing and the delicious cakes are homemade and not the run-of-the-mill fare available in many coffee shops. My only disappointment is that the scrumptious Guinness cake only makes an appearance twice a year!! The LCS is a family run business giving excellent service and is a terrific addition to the neighbourhood. Highly recommended for all ages.

I went for a second visit here and unfortunately after inspecting it closer I found it to be overpriced (more so than before when looking at cake prices) and very very claustrophobic. It can definitely only fit about 5 adults sitting comfortably, if that. Really looking forward to the redevelopment in the area over the next year or so and hoping for similar places but larger and a little cheaper.

A friendly vibe with great coffee. They don’t do your traditional coffee shop pastries but the margarita muffin substitute was delicious.

We've been here a couple of times with the kids. It is postage sized but hugely expressive on the inside like an art and design lover's tardis. There are various non food items for sale and a library and toy box for children. Coffee from Volcano, made to order milkshakes for the kids and a changing rota of sweet treats makes this a sadly rare oasis of genuinely independent approach to this fare within a pretty wide band of zone 5.

My absolute favourite independent coffee shop! It's a pleasure to stop in for a take away or linger at one of the quirky tables. I treat myself to a morning coffee when I have time and it always hits the spot - strong yet smooth. The home made food is delicious. I've never had anything that I wouldn't highly recommend including my current favourite which is the courgette cake. It was light, fresh and had a wonderful lemon flavour. I am sure I'll try something equally special next time a visit. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Found this place while visiting my daughter in South Croydon. We all enjoyed our coffees (yes, my espresso with a little extra water was how I imagined it would be) and the light breakfast food was just what we wanted.
