Once again on a wet November morning two of us bikers received a warm welcome at Wally’s Shed Cafe. Mugs of hot coffee and a filling breakfast. It certainly hit the spot!

Visited with some friends for a Saturday breakfast, and the experience would have been entertaining if it didn't amount to child abuse! The elderly lady attempting to run the cafe (which wasn't exactly busy) was clearly overwhelmed by such a responsibility, and was venting her anger - constantly and loudly - at her unfortunate 13 year old assistant, JayZee. We chose to sit outside, well away from the torrent of abuse the poor lad was suffering, but she soon came out for her fag break and did a pretty passable impression of Catherine Tate's Nan, the character who begins every other utterance with "What a f*cking liberty!" The food wasn't up to much and the premises have seen better days, but Wally's Shed has got to be worth a visit if only for the comedy value.

Breakfast wasn’t included with a hotel in Lavenham and somebody recommended Wallys. It was half the price as good as any full English breakfast at a hotel. The staff were very friendly and everything arrived quickly and piping hot. There was lots of toast included which I really like.

Woman in charge,Really foul mouth, especialy to the other young girl. Not A long wait for order to arrive. Not Hot and came accross as reheated leftovers from the day before?Sausages were unedible! Bacon was like beef jerky! She also payed more attention to feeding the wild birds out the back, than helping the other girl who was clearly overworked and out of he depth.

Out of town Cafe serving good food at a reasonable price. The decor may be a bit dated but it has the charm of times gone by. The food is cooked fresh and is very good. Popular with those on two wheels. Place is clean and staff are friendly. Well worth a visit.

I have been visiting Wallys for 30 years on and off, for Breakfast, Dinner and Sunday Lunch, and the original owner Wally did a major event for me and it was excellent. It is a traditional Cafe like you might experience in the 70s or 80s and not a Wetherspoons or a posh restaurant. I have not had any bad experiences here, the food is prepared and cooked fresh on site, and not just microwaved in a bag, and i can tell you a lot of pubs do microwave food, yet Wallys always keeps the cost down, it has an entourage of loyal custom and its not common to be fully booked on a Sunday. No doubt you may find a better restaurant, with better ingredients but you will be paying over double for that, so it is excellent value and a must visit, and people do often.

Its a strange little cafe - doesn't look much - like a bit of a workman's cafe - but believe me the food is great - like going back to grandmas - delicious and homely . A treat of a roast and and there is usually a daily crumble for dessert - give it a go - you wont be disappointed

This place has a certain dated charm. But you can get a good breakfast which on this occasion was a godd old traditional bacon sandwich on white sliced with tomatoes sauce with a good tasting cup of tea.

My friend and I go out for breakfast every 2-4 weeks and we enjoy trying different cafe/restaurants but so disappointed with our visit to Wally's Shed Cafe in Acton near Sudbury,it was highly recommended by my friends workmate .The eating area was ok and clean enough although the decor was very dated ,looking like a transport cafe from the 60's but the food was such a let down.It was a cheap price at £6 which included a hot drink,my friend and I upgraded to have an extra sausage and egg which made it £7.80.I didn't note the mature Lady's name who served us but she was pleasant enough when taking our order. The food was served up fairly quickly and it was hot but so much wrong with it,both our toasts were hard, the sausages, eggs and beans were just about eatable but clearly cheap,I don't know what had been done with the mushrooms,a decent pile of them but after we had both eaten a small mouthful of them,we both thought the same that they had the most horrible flavour, like a slight taste of fairy liquid or something similar had got into them, that was the only way we could describe the taste but my guess is that it was a very cheap cooking oil used as the tomatoes had a similar bad taste as well. The mug of tea and coffee were poor as well, just a horrible flavour, must be the cheapest coffee and tea you can buy as we both only drink about a fifth of our drinks. You can say that we should have complained and said something and we would have done if we had been asked how our breakfast was when we were eating it.Enough said,my friend and i could not recommend this place to eat as we both came away with a bad aftertaste in our mouths but maybe they just had a bad day there?

Wally's Cafe is a lovely gem of a cafe off the beaten track. On a sunny day you can sit outside and watch the ducks on the pond or inside plenty of room and group bookings are taken. In a hurry? everything is available for take away. Breakfast starts at 7.00 through till 11.00 then lunch til 3. Lunches are traditional meat and veg with some old favoutrites on the menu. All homemade pies and Puddings. Desserts are all made in house and like your granny makes with thick custard. Sunday Lunch is good you may need to book for that one! Closed on mondays. Never had a bad meal.

I and my work mate have visited a few times in last week. First time I was very disappointed with service and no eggs on our best sandwiches. Then we have visited a couple more times and the younger lady serving was great. Visited again today and it was terrible. I ordered an omelette and Ryan said I'll have same with salad. I was charged £7.75 with a cup of tea. Ryan questioned if that was for both innocently as no prices shown. He was then questioned by the lady. Don't be rude to people cooking your food. Ryan then cancelled order asked for money back. She declined to return money and said no eat. In the end we had our money returned and left. This lady needs to learn how to serve people. It was our second visit today and the last

I've breakfasted here, mostly on Sunday mornings, while participating in historical re-creations at Kentwell Hall. If you want a really good "Traditional English" breakfast, with friendly service, this is one place where you'll find it. Frequented by bikers, emergency services personnel, and historical re-enactors - it can't be bad! No problems with parking, either. When it's quieter, it's sometimes possible to get a first-rate Banana Split , too!

Had a breakfast here a few times over the last few years. Breakfast is generally good, but not quite as good as when Wally was in the kitchen. On my last visit the eggs were hard and a bit frazzled underneath and around edges, the mushrooms weren't very good at all. Genourous portions served however and the service isnt bad. It can be busy Sunday mornings, if it is when you visit youll probably get your toast 5 minutes after breakfast. They stop offering breakfast at 10.30 which seems bizarre for a Sunday morning. Very popular stop for motorcyclists. Plenty of parking available. The price matched the quality and service well. Extend the Sunday morning breakfast times and id happily visit again.

Wally's Shed represents the long gone working mens cafe where you could get a full plate of food and a large mug of tea without spending a fortune. A simple type cafe with cloths and flowers on the table and pictures on the walls, it is popular with a wide variety of people and families. It wouldn't claim to be 'haute cuisine' but for it's full English breakfasts and standard dinners I doubt you will find better value for money in all of East Anglia. Drop in sometime, especially for breakfast. You won't be dissappointed!

This is an historic gem . You are taken back to a 50's / 60's transport cafe. I read a review that wanted it up dated ------ Hello you are missing the whole point. I do agree the sausages were awful as in my previous review. The new owner ( daughter of Wallie ) has rectified this. I would say imagine being transported in time to another era. Fun and good value. Not gourmet but not meant to be.

We celebrated my sisters 50th birthday here ! We had the private function room upstairs which has recently been refurbished and it was lovely. We were allowed in early to decorate with banners and balloons. Baring in mind we were a large group and all opted for three courses the food was still all served together so we had no one waiting, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We couldn't fault it all :) A few of the family stayed and were extremely happy with rooms and the yummy breakfast :)

Requested a twin room but arrived to be shown into a double. Couldn't be changed until the following day apparently! Went down for breakfast on Saturday morning at about 8:30 (breakfast served from 8 - 10). No staff apart from the cleaner. She kindly tried to provide some tea, milk and cereals - and bread. So we made do without a cooked breakfast (included in the rate we paid). At about 9:10 a young lady appeared who offered us a cooked breakfast just as we were about to leave the restaurant. No apology. No kitchen staff. Just awful. I did get an apology from the General Manager later that day and Sunday morning breakfast was fine. Certainly won't use this hotel again.
