Spot on every time. 30mins wait to collect normally, can be longer but this place is busy especially at the weekends. Foods always good and hotbwhen picked up. Staff have NEVER been rude and explain when things take longer due to being busy. Stop complaining and expect delays when getting deliveries, they get busy and the roads around here a rubbish.

Before I start my review, this used to be a really good Chinese restaurant with good portions and nice atmosphere. Now to the review, we've spent over £60 on our recent order, which was 9 dishes, there was no prawn crackers, no fortune cookies, sauce missing for crab claws which always comes with it, no salad and lemon, which also comes with the crab claws, the food tastes good and is delicious, but not worth the money when there are other Chinese branches out there that care about the customers who spend this amount of money and actually treat customers well, also portions aren't worth the money, it's ridiculous. I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Ordered takeaway meals for2 to be collected 40 minutes later. The meals were terrible, They were so dry and stodgy and couldn't be eaten . We have uses them for 8 years with no problems apart from the last 2 occasions in the last 2 months. Txt them but no reply

Always great food, Wongs Cherry Tree has an indoor seating area with a bar, should you wish you dine in. Parking can be a pain but some people use the lay-by opposite.

I cannot explain what a hidden gem of a place and how much worth the drive to Wongs is! The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive & caters for a variety of diets. I'm a very picky vegetarian and I was so impressed with the food that I returned the next night and ordered double so that I could eat it for lunch and dinner for 3 days! I've never done that anywhere else, guys! Well done, it's an outstanding setup! Without a shadow of a doubt I will be a repeat offender! 👏🏼 🌟🥳😋💖

Great food. I wish we had more time to stop in the restaurant instead of take away. It was so good we all wanted seconds. Great choice and quality. The chicken chow mein especially. Not greasy and very tasty.

Tried to order at 9.30pm on a Saturday night and order fefused, time advertised till 10pm, I wouldn't bother!

Really disappointing. We ordered our Chinese at 5.30pm. By 9.30pm it had still not arrived! We rang several times, only to be told that it had been delivered to the wrong address. We rang again to be told they were making it again and it would be with us in 45mins - another hour goes by. We were then told it had left 10 minutes ago at around 9pm - still not arrived after 25mins when it takes 10-15 mins to get from Glemsford to Sudbury. We were offered no discount. Really terrible service and communication. We won't be ordering from here again which is a shame as the food is quite nice.

Since a disappointing dining experience when Wongs first opened some years ago we thought that'll we would give Wongs a revisit. Boy, was I pleased I that I did. We have been devotees of Youngs in Sudbury for all our Chinese takeaways for nearly 30 years. After tonight's meal all that has changed. I will be back to Wongs for my next Chinese takeaway. Excellent quality food, very pleasant ( and efficient) counter staff. What's not to like, and all at hand in Glemsford. Keep up this standard please.

Amazing little place, the food is amazing. Every dish was awesome, think in total it came too 180 odd to feed 15 of us, amazing vavle and in a quite remote village. The drive there is wonderful, we're up there to visit family and thought we will have a Chinese and what a choice it was. There's seating outside on benches with a decent filled bar inside. Warm and cosy and the service from the peeps was great. A little banter and friendly.

Been looking for a good Chinese around Sudbury for a long time and sadly I’m still looking . Ordered a takeaway and it arrived after a 3 hour wait , poorly cooked and almost cold what a great way to waste £46 obviously won’t be going back and still looking for a good Chinese

Called at 5pm, ordered Chinese for delivery and was told would be delivered any time up to 7pm! It was only a small order. 7pm and no delivery. Called and was told their short staffed and would be with us in 30mins. 7:45pm and still no delivery. Called again and was told it was on it’s way. 8pm and it was delivered, 3 hours after ordering! When it arrived 2 items were missing! And the pork balls were awful as it tasted reheated and inedible and they were chucked in the bin. So had to call again and was asked if l wanted for the 2 dishes that were missing to be delivered or get credit for my next order! I asked for a refund only to be told that l had to call back the next day for for manager to do it! Which l did the next day. Really really bad service and pork balls awful. Shame as ordered from here before and was very good but never again!

The portions are good, price is fair and delivered before estimated time. I had the roast pork in honey which was unfortunatley very tough/chewy and the egg fried rice was very greasy. The sweet and sour chicken balls were very nice though. Not the best and not the worst.

Wonderful food as always. Well worth the wait for the food though. Everything we ordered was cooked really well. The food was all Freshly cooked and the care and attention to the ingredients and cooking showed. An absolutely fantastic Chinese

2 hours, really! Ordered at 7.20pm, arrived at 9.25 pm. Lorna Manager was rude, staff cut me off three times! Sat 8/7/23. Been a customer for over 10 years. No more. Your food is very good, but remember where your bread and butter comes from!! Management need to review staff!

Stayed at the nearby campsite at Glemsford & thought I’d give Wongs Cherry Tree a try, menu looked good & the premises looked ok as well. Had a bit of a wait, was told if I sat outside they would bring my food out to me when ready… after about 25 mins a girl bought it out to me apologising for the delay but it had been left on the side & she had forgotten to bring it out to me, not a great start but these things happen. I had Chinese roast pork omelette & chips, the chips were really greasy & had absorbed loads of oil, if you squeeze them oil comes out of them, either the oil was not hot enough or the oil needs changing I’d say… As for the omelette again it was swimming in oil or butter, not sure which? It was edible just but not really enjoyable. I’ve had much better takeaways, so glad I didn’t go with a big order, here for a few days but wouldn’t bother going there again, might’ve just been unlucky, as the place was fairly busy despite it being early evening, but personally not impressed sadly.

Fantastic Chinese takeaway. Always delivers delicious food and is set in the middle of Glemsford for easy access for everyone in the village. Prices have become more expensive as time has gone by but this cannot be blamed on them but simply a state of the times. Would highly recommend giving this a try if you are in the area.

Superb food, fantastic customer service, more than happy to accommodate changes/ alterations in the dishes offered on the menu. Always have delivery and food never fails to be fresh tasty and hot. Being a vegetarian the veg/ vegan options available are amazing, and having tried them all not one has been disappointing. Well done guys, nailed it again!!

Have been going to Wongs in Glemsford for a couple of years now, have to say the food is delish! If you are vegan you won’t go hungry here and will have plenty of choice the fake aromatic duck shouldn’t be missed! Reading recent reviews I was shocked as the staff in wongs have always been so polite and accommodating to any of my requests hence I wanted to share my experience of their food and service The best Chinese around Sudbury/bury st edmunds in my opinion

I'd gone off eating chinese food for a couple of years as I always felt yuk after eating it..we had a takeaway delivered from Wongs and I'm converted back to enjoying chinese food again..infact can't wait to have another one. The food was delicious, delivered fast and still nice and hot. will be back for more soon.

What a jewel , we stayed in the Greyhound so no eating facilities, so popped to Wongs, oh wow food is amazing the best chicken with yellow bean sauce and cashews we have EVER tasted , staff are really friendly and accommodating we sat and eat in and had drinks really would highly recommend x

The menu prices are all out of date and increased quite a bit. I don't like phoning to pay and getting a surprise extra 20 quid added to my bill.! Update your menu !

Ordered a takeaway at 6.45. It arrived 40 mins later. The best Chinese we have had by miles. Tasty, flavourful and hot. Highly recommend this place.

The food that turns up is of a unreal standard. When we first started going after moving to the area I was raving that we had the best Chinese around but this year I don't think we have had an order come correctly. We are vegetarian and either we have chicken and beef in our food or we are missing dishes from the order. Gutted to be fair because the food we have had has been really really nice just can’t seem to deliver the food we have paid for.

5 stars! After months living in a rural area and missing the treats of a Chinese takeaway (delivery) these guys pulled out the stops and agreed to deliver. The food was super hot and the quality was A1 perfect, looking forward for the next delivery

Best Chinese takeaway I've had for years. The fillet steak i. Black bean sauce really does melt in your mouth.

There were around 4 strands of hair in my chicken chow mein and it was very cold. I didn't want to complain because there were two ladies in their 40's which were very intimidating. I don't think I will visit again.

After visiting the website we popped in hoping to get a table on Sunday evening. Sadly it was take away only. Food was good. Will probably visit again if in the area.

I wasn't dissapoined. First of all we ordered for delivery, food was with us within 15mins, how fast was that ;) 2ndly the food itself was cooked very well, full of good flavours, simply delicious & good portions. I will be using again now & I highly recommend to anyone. Good stuff.

The staff at Wongs are fantastic, they take their time to discuss your diatary needs and will help you with any questions you may have regarding the food they cteat and your order. The food is outstanding full of flavour and you can taste the flavours, freshness and is by far the best Chinese food in East anglia. I have always use Wongs and will continue to do so unless a Thia restaurant opens then I will be torn between them both.

Absolutely disgusting service tonight, I ordered food for collection at 6.40 and couldn't collect until 9.30 that's the last time I use wongs ? I have been using them for years but not any more. I could have driven to Cambridge and back in that time

I'd heard a lot of good things about this place, so decided to deviate from my local Chinese takeaway for once and see if the plaudits were warranted. In a word, no. The staff were polite but the delivery took almost 2 hours from ordering, which I accepted, as they let me know that. The food what still hot on arrival, but was decidedly average. I had egg fried rice, kung po chicken and crispy shredded beef with chilli (apparently). Marked as hot on the menu, it was anything but, in fact it was soggy and bland. The kung po chicken, again, not great. I've had far better on both counts. Chinese dishes aren't exactly cheap and with delivery added on, as well as the average quality of the meal and lengthy wait for delivery, really wasn't worth the time or money. Unfortunately, that will be the first and last time ordering from Wongs.

I always order from here and the food is usually lovely, but I had to wait 3 hours 20 mins for my food and it’s not good enough. They did say they’re busy and it’s going to be a long time, but 3 hours 20? I thought they were taking the mick. I can honestly say it’s put me off ordering from here again, such a shame as I was a consistent customer :( time to try a new Chinese

Ordered a family meal from Wongs which was delivered cold after waiting 1 1/2 hours for delivery. When I complaint to Wongs a lack of interest was shown and reluctance to rectify or compensate. Needless to say I will not be using Wongs again as the experience was far from satisfactory.

Been going to this place every couple of months for 8 years, here and at their previous location down the road. Never, ever had anything but brilliant service and food. Staff are local and know where you are when you call and the estimate for how long it will take is spot on for delivery. Easier to drop in though, normally a 10 minute wait. Try the chilli chicken or shredded beef, spot on.

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER!! Ordered a meal at 7:47, was assured meal would be delivered between 8:30-9pm, as we appreciated they are busy due to lockdown and many orders allowed extra time, called at 9:40, no apology, said not started t o cook yet, should be 1 hour, again gave them the benefit, just had a call, 10.20pm saying they can deliver for Sunday lunch- err, no thanks. If we still wanted the order 11:30 !!! Wonder what time the people ringing up after me are getting their meal??? Obvious greed, taking orders they can never , from reading previous review sounds like a lucky escape- shall be checking I get my money back as promised, as obviously everything we have been told so far is a fairytale! Avoid avoid avoid!!

Fancied a Chinese. Nowhere in Sudbury open but looked at reviews for wings and looked good. Took a while to get through yesterday by tel but very pleasant lady answered. This was 5.45pm. Advised that delivery would be sometime after 8.30pm. Ok we gave her the order. My Interpretation of this was sometime around 8.30/maybe 9 ish. I called at 8.50 (politely) just to ask if they had a better idea of delivery time. Advised that order not started but would get to it as soon as possible. Rang again at 9.50 pm to be told it’s been cooked now and delivery will be about 10.30. It arrived at 10.50 some 5 hours after ordering. Staff were very apologetic and we hoped for the best Chinese we’ve ever eaten! What arrived was disappointing for a £30 order. No flavour to king prawns in yellow bean sauce. Sweet and sour chicken balls doughy not crispy. Nice meat inside. The crispy duck was okbut the hoi sin was thick and gloomy and the pancakes seemed oddly greasy. Egg fried rice ok. My daughter and I both felt that maybe the food had sat on the passe for a while and had affected the quality and whilst we wouldn’t try another delivery we would try eating in the restaurant once it reopens. Friday treat was not great. Just disappointing. Happy to put up a good review if the restaurant experience is better

We have always had and always will have Wongs as our Chinese takeaway! Could not recommend them enough. They have never let us down and the food is always great, the staff are friendly and hardworking. Highly recommend

Another one who was part of Saturday night’s sit in. Food ordered at 6, told it would be an hour. Arrived to collect about 7, eventually left at 8.00!!As the place became more and more rammed, the stock reply was “it’ll be 20 minutes”Felt a bit sorry for the guys out front but I strongly feel there should’ve been some sort of token apology or refund. Seemed that food for delivery was taking over the collection orders.Won’t bother returning, next tome it will be local chippy!

We ordered on a Saturday night was told 1 hour for collection so no worries there. Arrived after an hour and had to wait a further hour and a half for our food. No offers of compensation or anything. Food was alright but certainly not worth the unacceptable wait. I wont be using them again

Phoned for delivery was told 2 hours. After 2 hours I called again and got told 5 mins, a further 40 mins later still not food. Called them up again and told another 20 mins. Ended up cancelling at 21.50 no dinner for my family tonight then

What a little gem. The lovely staff could not of done more for us. One of our party is gluten free and they changed dishes so that she could have them. Food was really nice tasted amazing looked fantastic, hot and fresh really worth a visit.

We went to Wongs for a meal on Monday evening for my sister in laws birthday, The food was fantastic, the staff were great and the hosts , Jimmy and Tracey, were just so lovely and helpful. 10 out of 10 I would highly recommend people try this jewel of a place.

We ate here twice in 2 days. Food, service and staff were excellent. Food freshly cooked and that's why it tasted so good. They were 100% in dealing with gluten intolerance and I could eat most things on the menu. This is unusual and very welcome. Great place!

Normally enjoy the food but unfortunately the 'vegie' sprig rolls marked with a green V for Vegetarian, were meat. I only found out once I had taken a bite, and I also swallowed some. I've been a vegetarian my entire life, so it's a shame that Wongs at Cherry Tree has ruined this through carelessness. Let's hope they don't make this mistake again with somebody else's dietary requirements.

We have take aways from here quite regularly but last night we decided to eat in the clean and comfortable restaurant. My husband and I had an excellent meal, we really enjoyed it. The restaurant was spotless and the menu appealing. The service was quick and the people working there were smart and very helpful. Considering it was mid week it was very busy. People were in and out all the time, but because the take away was the far end of the bar it didn't bother the diners. We will certainly go back and eat in the restaurant again.I do fear that the restaurant will get more and more popular and so people will have to book a table. For us, it was an excellent meal out!

Prices are good, excellent food, lovely staff, I would have stayed longer if there was a draft beer on offer, bottles are the only let down, very enjoyable visit, wife said her Chinese curry was the best Chinese curry she has ever had!

Always get salt and pepper squid from here. It’s great. Don’t re-heat food from here tho.... you will regret it. Delivery time is always about an hour but the foods worth it. Wouldn’t eat out here but a decent takeaway all the same.
