Walkers Cafe in Argyll & Bute

Lovely quaint coffee shop in the heart of Dunoon with a cracking breakfast. Service was friendly and fast. Lots on the menu, including some tasty looking homemade cakes!

Went here for lunch and a catch up with a good friend. As always, food was excellent and great value. Friendly staff and a good, relaxed atmosphere. Parking outside is easy and free.

This is a regular go to place. There is not much we haven’t tried. Breakfasts fantastic and I love the French toast with bacon and maple syrup. Burgers are enormous and my mum thinks the coleslaw that comes with the salad garnish is the best she has ever tasted. Coffee is fab too. Exceedingly clean in the restaurant and toilets too. Good homemade soup and sandwiches. Always a special on the menu too.

I love walkers since they revamped the place, as I went after Christmas I was able to buy some lovely nik naks for next year. Although I was disappointed that there was no vegan options. When I came earlier in the year, there was a few options for meat/dairy free and it was really nice but they have now removed these from the menu which was very disappointing. I think not catering for the range of dietary requirements that people have is limiting. Would be good to see options for vegans/dairy free on the menu and have milk alternatives

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat. Food was average but tasted good. Great if your looking for toasties/ sandwiches however, not many vegetarian/ vegan options to choose from. Staff all very friendly.

Have visited this coffee shop on a few occasions for a delicious breakfast after a big shop in Dunoon. The staff are extremely friendly, the cafe is very spacious and their facilities are clean. I look forward to my next visit very soon! I highly recommend their full breakfast!

Returned to Walkers twice since lockdown eased. Once for coffee and cake and the second time for fish and chips. The quality of the food and service is as good as ever. No complaints at all. Well worth the trip from Rothesay. Still strongly recommend. Well done to Walker’s and staff.

We stopped off here for a late tasty breakfast. It's very spacious and the staff were very friendly. We look forward to eating here again on our next visit to Dunoon.

Stopped in for a morning treat and was given a warm welcome by staff that were very accommodating in current climate - sat us at 2 neighbouring tables. Lots on offer and coffee was lovely. Cakes, tray bakes and cheesecakes were lovely. If passing well worth stopping in or heading here.

Great place. We often visit, and being Great coffee affficionadoes, our only suggestion is that they should change coffee to Argyll Roast which is so delicious and for sale in many cafes and coffee shops throughout Argyll now.

Had a scrambled egg on a roll absolutly delish, food always fresh have a good selection of cakes with a nice hot cup of tea. Do really good latte aswell

Walkers is on our weekly list, the food and friendly staff are great. We visit regularly even thou we live close by.

In today for lunch, Lovely friendly service, Tasty butternut squash soup, served hot and with a roll. Coffee is its usual good quality and todays strawberry tarts were just mouth watering. What’s not to love about walkers coffee shop. The gifts in the shop are unusual and the guys on the counter are always helpful and friendly

I have frequented Walkers since the early days when it was next to their house. Loved watching them flourish, as they have a good understanding of what the local community needs and wants. Their food is lovely, their cakes to die for, home made yumminess. Staff are hard working, friendly and attentive, all this is a beautiful environment. What more could you want. Hope Paul and his team have a wonderful Christmas, heres to 2020 being as amazing for your business as this year has.

Regular visitor to Walkers for garden requirements and for food. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good delicious menu which caters for vegan and vegetarian. Best almond slices in town.

This is the place to meet! My friends and I love the cosy seating areas and the cakes and food in general is always delicious! Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Busy but tables well spaced so not too crowded. Great coffee! A vegetarian and someone with allergies had a few choices on the menu.

A party of 7 of us went here for lunch today. We booked the private side room. Instead of ordering at the counter, a friendly, good-humoured waitress called Marion took our orders & provided table service. There was a good selection of homemade meals to suit every taste. We were delighted with our Chicken Curry, Steak Pies & Ploughman's Lunch followed by desserts of ice cream & Sticky Toffee Pudding & Treacle Scone. Afterwards the teas & coffees were great quality. We were so impressed by the food & staff we have booked to go back for lunch this Friday.

We as a family visit walkers regularly, it is just a go to place as it can please everyone. Don't be fooled by the exterior the inside is so beautiful and a warm and friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff. The outdoor area looks out onto a nice stream and comfortable outdoor seating. I 100% reccomend!

So glad we stumbled upon this place, tucked away from view at the back of a hardware store. Don’t be fooled by the exterior - the setting inside was great, staff very friendly and helpful, food was fantastic and very reasonably priced... couldn’t fault it!

Fish and chips are freshly cooked , and are consistently of a superb standard. The portion size is good also. The staff are efficient , friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended.

Popped in for a coffee, but after seeing the daily special my husband had a burger, chips and salad. He has a good appetite and was sated and happy after he finished. He had a hot chocolate which he takes without all the extra bits and said it was the best hot chocolate he'd ever tasted..high praise. I'm allergic to starch which is in loads of things, so they made me a cheese salad with the things I can eat. It seems that should be easy but I can assure you its not. The staff were friendly, helpful and really couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm disabled on two crutches so was able to traverse through the shop easily out to the newer eating area, all on the level, and sat in the sunshine next to a stream and had a blissful break. This is a wee gem of a place, has good opening hours and is well worth a visit. Also bought 2 gro-bags for our strawberries, and the shop staff had the same attitude as the cafe staff and were very helpful as well. Very highly recommend a visit. Wish I'd taken photos to show how lovely it all was, but my husband had already got well stuck in by then, and its not wise to take food away from him when hes eating!

We go here every other Wednesday when we visit Dunoon so my husband decided to try fish and chips ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and the cakes are to die for . As for the staff they are smart helpful and so cheery yes it is our go to place

We had been told that if we ever visited Dunoon, we must visit Walkers as their food was excellent. Well, I am so glad we did as the recommendation was spot on. We were made to feel welcome at the counter and the food was brought to our table in no time at all. The macaroni cheese was wonderful! Will certainly go back to this gem of place in Dunoon.

Called in again for coffee and ice cream, Always tasty , fresh ,good value and served with a smile. Great.

the home made scones are excellent also the cakes are good and with a nice pot of tea from friendly staff.

I'd missed the bus after work and had to wait an hour until the next one arrived. It was cold, wet and windy, so I decided to head into Walkers to pass the time and heat myself up again. They close at 4.30pm which I wasn't aware of, I'd only arrived a couple of minutes prior to that. Still, the ladies gave me the most warm welcome, for which I was truly grateful. Since it was close to home time, I purchased a small chardonnay - this was accompanied by a beautiful lemon & blueberry scone, absolute taste sensation! Never had a scone like it, can't wait to go back for another. Served with plenty of butter and jam, it was totally delicious. The place looks amazing since it's extensive refurb, the seating areas both inside and out (in better weather) are immaculate, lovely and bright. I honestly cannot thank you enough for accommodating me, especially when you're about closed. I felt great getting cosied up again - thank you! Can't wait to return :)

A great lunch stop if in Dunoon great service and food, staff really friendly in this stylish coffee shop at the back of the Walkers store. Dont be put off by the view from the road as they have spent a lot of money well on this place. It even has an outdoor area with a river running by! Never had a bad meal here and surprisingly good value.

Sometimes call in for lunch and am always surprised how many customers are eating - even if not going to eat on occasions the lovely aroma of food persuades me to have a bite

Walkers really have everything you could ask for in a tearoom. Easy parking, superb food, great scones, cakes and coffee, and most of all friendly and helpful staff. The tearoom is open and spacious with outside seating when weather allows.

Went in for lunch, tasty toastie with salad and coleslaw. Inside was nice and cool despite being really hot outside, good outside tables as well if more sun required. Can recommend the sticky toffee pudding cheesecake

The revamped Walkers is lovely,great patio area,nice cosy sofas.The staff are friendly and helpful and really enjoyed the specials board...the tasting platter is fabulous by the way.Good prices too

Such a nice change and added extra to a lovely shop. Nice menu and lovely and clean. Could do with more parking now it's so popular. Lovely trinkets and gifts as well as cakes and meals.

The new coffee shop is a lovely space and is immaculately clean. We are looking forward to the soft play area opening and sitting outside on the terrace in the summer. The Coffee and cakes were great quality with the food and menu being average. I will definitely return and look forward to watching the coffee shop grow in the future, well done Walkers.

First time in renovated coffee shop. Terrible experience. Too big, too noisy, ham cheese panini must have been a cheese shortage in Argyll. Spot the cheese !!. Coconut and raspberry slice, hardly any coconut and very dry. Coffees were not hot. Overall now a let down. Used to love it.

The coffee shop has just undergone a beautiful renovation. Have had coffee and lunches often in the past and the food has always been good but the surroundings now are beautiful. The food is really good and very reasonably priced. I had a lovely vegetarian breakfast consisting of scrambled egg, mushrooms, tomato, tattie scone, baked beans and toast all for £3.95!

The service was good served with a smile good selection and reasonably priced.Plenty of seating and right on high street amongst the shops.

A good choice of menu meant that I thoroughly enjoyed my tasty lunch of home-made chicken and vegetable soup and fresh brown bread mayo sandwiches with home-made coleslaw and salad at a very reasonable cost. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing with a choice of seating and privacy. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. I shall certainly be recommending Walker's Cafe to my friends although judging by the many regular faces, it's deservedly a popular place already.Definitely the best cafe in town!

Went here for lunch several times. Staff are very friendly and work really efficiently when they are busy (which is often! True testament to how good it is). You can tell everything is homemade and made to order but also consistent. Quality is superb and value for money is really fantastic, I would say. I'm only sad I didn't get to try one of their amazing looking cakes!!

Have been here many times over the years - their coffee has been consistently good, their baked potatoes (especially with egg mayo) are fantastic and they have a nice range of biscuits, cakes and scones too. Good place for a light meal or a coffee with friends.

The staff in Walker's Cafe are helpful and polite. Food good value for money and freshly prepared. Coffee excellent. Free wifi.

Very tasty soup & roll, great for a decent coffee and a bite to eat, after a bit of shopping in the high street. have a drink and a snack.

Whilst visiting in the Dunoon area I stopped here for a bit of lunch. The homemade soup was lovely and hot. The sandwich freshly made. The place is clean and tidy. The staff friendly. Worth considering if in the area.

I often stop in for a coffee and soup, filled roll or cake, the cafe is situated within the hardware/garden supplies store, friendly staff, plenty of seating and what I call the comfy area, with a few area's partitioned with large sofas.

Visited here this week for coffee and cake. I must say the coffee was very good and the cake huge slices with plenty of icing. In fact probably the largest slice of carrot cake I have had.The surroundings are a little bare and I thought insipid and cold.But if all you are interested in is a good cup of coffee and some nice cake this is for you.

Great for a coffee and a catch up with friends, good selection of home baking, and a light lunch.The sofa areas are lovely and set out in such a way you feel youre in your own wee space.very impressed with the microwave and plastic dishes available in a section for mums with young children and babies to use to heat up their own food.very thoughtful.

It offers a small selection of food on the menu which is adequate for a quick lunch or coffee, Service is slow but the average age of the clientele don't seem to mind muchThe paninis are just average and nothing special, the soups are good with a roll and coffee.

Had a family lunch here recently. Although the café was really busy, including lots of schoolchildren (a good sign?) we were served quickly and by friendly staff. The pea and ham soup was great, as were the paninis, and the cakes. Coffees and teas were tasty. Great surroundings and decór. Really recommend this café, which has a hardware shop in the same building, and plenty of free parking. There is also a (very small) toddlers play area, which is monitored with a CCTV camera, and monitor in the café area.
