Wakaka Street Food in Shropshire

Food was superb! We had takeout but are planning to sit in on our next visit

Initially they told me the chicken is halal, but later this apparently changed as they’ve been mixing the meat. Completely unacceptable service. It either is or isn’t.

We love going here, especially for the salt and chilli king prawns. The food is great, but please be aware that they don't accept card payments.

I love this place so much! When we walked in the people were very welcoming and kind! We ordered food and it was soo good- beautifully prepared and presented! While we ate, the staff asked us and others if we needed anything, and also were very hospitable! It was really clean and the location also was brill! Defo going again!

According to Google this is open till 10pm Tuesday, but no answer at 9pm. Are the hours incorrect?

The best Chinese food. Would highly recommend the fried chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. Really good selection of food and drinks

Me and a friend popped in for takeaway bubble tea and it was the best I'd ever had! The service was so kind and accommodating too! I will definitely come back soon if I'm in the area again!

we used to be regulars at this restaurant and loved the food here as it was fresh, but since visiting recently our opinion has drastically changed and declined. our first issue was the miscommunication between myself and the employee, we repeated our correct order 3 times and still received the incorrect order - we ordered a spicy seafood fried rice and was presented with spicy noodles (that were not spicy), secondly when we asked for chilli for our “spicy” rice we were told no and blamed us the customer for the mistake in the kitchen, and didn’t apologise, which didn’t show correct work etiquette and respect regarding customer wishes. do not waste your time and more importantly your money on this tragic restaurant (if you can call it that).

They do NOT shut at 11pm. I walked there after reading the fabulous reviews. They were shut. I was really looking forward to the food..

For a small place & classed as street food. The Asian food here simply out of this world. Well worth a visit if you are enjoying a shopping trip & need a quick bite to eat. Friendly staff & nice chilled atmosphere.

Ordered from them and due to a counting error I did not recieve half my order. It was quickly sorted out, I recieved my order and the food was delicious. Would recommend.

Absolutely amazing. I ordered a simple large matcha boba, despite the business only taking cash, I was able to pay by transferring from my bank. The customer service was excellent. The drink was not too sweet and was clearly authentic. I felt very welcomed. A great place to pick up a quick drink! I noticed they did good too, which looks drool-inducing. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu!

So far, the best asian food resto that I have visited. Prices are just right compared to other asian resto, they cook the food really quick, for just a short wait. They have a lot of choices from the menu and cooked really well. Flavors are authentic. The service is amazing, they are very friendly. Only drawback for me is the place is small and can accommodate only a few and when I visited, they don't accept card payments which is a big hassle for most. The desserts were not available as well which my kids were looking forward to. There is a paid parking accross the resto. Everywhere else can be accessed by walking.

I've been here twice and highly recommend it. I had the Malaysian chicken curry and the Mapo tofu. Both were very delicious and good portions. Tasty and spicy but not too spicy. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick. I also tried the bubble tea, first the lemon and passionfruit and then the original milk tea. Both were very good and authentic, not overly sweet and artificial, and the tapioca pearls were just right. I will definitely come back!

Had a takeaway from here, and the food was awesome

The menu is extensive and suited both of us as it includes dishes you don't get in typical Thai / Chinese restaurants All cooked to order by a friendly chef. Service was excellent. Some seating is on bar stool, we would prefer chairs and lower tables. Alcohol is not served - don't know if BYOB is an option

Wonderful, fresh and authentic food. Amazing friendly service. Be aware there doesn't seem to be a customer toilet.

Decent value and well-cooked Asian food, quick service. The likeable young waitress was a bit ditzy and forgot to bring cutlery, napkins & water but no harm done. Had he special fried rice with house sauce. The food came over as authentic and freshly prepare with generous chunks of meat /protein com very well cooked vegetables (great crunchy texture). Summer rolls dipping sauce also very good though the rolls themselves would have benefited from more greens and a bit less meat for my taste. Would visit again. Be aware payment is by cash or bank transfer only and the bank details are very tricky to get accepted for some reason so I would bring cash.

The best Chinese food I had in the UK. Fresh ingredients and full of flavours. This place is 1 hour drive from my home, but I will be back. The place was cash only today. I hope they change it.

Lovely hole in the wall, with extremely tasty food. The place was cozy and clean, the staff was super friendly and the Malaysian lamb curry was delicious.

Found this place totally randomly and loved it! The food is so tasty and the staff were lovely and really friendly. Best softshell crab I have had in this country for years and my chicken curry really hit the spot with the right level of spice. My husband really enjoyed his lamb curry too and that is from someone who has regular access to homemade sri lankan lamb curry! Never been to Shrewsbury before but would definitely come back just to eat at Wakaka. **Update - went back next day, softshell crab was still amazing and also had a tasty belly pork and salt and pepper pork chop!

Tha best Chinese restaurant in town. The food Are cook from fresh when order. Taste are amazing. Prices are very reasonable. Staffs always polite and happy to help.

Small take-away and restaurant with a fantastic street food menu. The soft shell crab was epic. Slow-cooked pork belly, Vietnamese-style spring rolls, duck bao all absolutely delicious. The place is clean and the service delightful.

Since I’m Asian and Chinese food in UK is trash but Wakaka got the most accurate flavour with their dishes. I am very satisfied with it, their food does taste amazing. I am starting to being a regular here! Price are reasonable! Highly recommend! 🤙🏻🤙🏻

Really disappointed. Mediocre British Chinese food at best. The fried dumplings were cold and uncooked in the centre. The sesame prawn toasts were off. Main meals passable but not inspired.

Dining here is as enjoyable as dining in Hong Kong! It’s so delicious!
