Great selection of food and a well stocked butchers counter and sushi bar.

A very clean, spacious, well laid out store. Plenty of choice, and the quality we expect from Waitrose. All the staff were very friendly and polite. A large, very busy car park. Very few disabled parking bays. Might be an idea to make people buy a parking ticket, refunded on purchases. I think a lot of non Waitrose people park here, because it's free

Got what was needed from here and a good location store in the middle of town, could be useful for lots of things to be found in town and right near to bus stops and other shopping area shops.

Have visited this Waitrose a few times and generally have been able to get what I needed. Just a shame it is a rather dated store - looks a bit shabby inside and out. There are also no customer toilets.

Shop here a lot. Usually fine but there is one member of staff that spoils it. She is so rude I have never known anything like it. She will completely blank you and walk into you if you don't move it of the way. Would be 5 stars if not for her and her constant bad manor.

We like Waitrose products generally although at our present address we do not have a store near. Whenever we go away if there is a Waitrose we would use it

"Harriet, you are NOT taking a supermarket energy bar to new school on Monday!" Extremely helpful staff, car park immediately outside the door, and several checkout options. It's not the cheapest shopping in town, nor the widest variety, but it is very close to the bus station and the foot of the hill in the centre of Lewes, and the quality of groceries is usually reliable. I tried their "Carry To Car" service the other day. They asked "Where's your car?" I said "Nevill", and all they did was laugh.😢 A moment of good news. The 'free' coffee has returned, when the coffee machine works. And one must use a Waitrose card, which allows all sorts of surveillance e.g. some database somewhere keeps a record of what you buy and gives substantial discounts from time to time. Fantastic staff.

The cheesecake ice cream is CLEARLY TAGGED AT £4 but EVERY TIME I'm charged £5. I point this out - NOTHING CHANGES!!!! They obviously prefer to cheat customers out of money. I'm going to change supermarket because I don't like to have to distrust, when I shop.

This waitrose is generally very good. Staff are lovely and always go out of their way to help. That being said, all the meat is absolutely rancid, all the time. Cold meats are usually an off grey or brown colour and the mince meat is the foulest thing - 5% fat for 6.50, and it is always brown or a grayish brain type colour throughout, smells awful and the bags it is sold in are always inflated. Bacon is left on shelves completely grey , and the roast beef joints are always going grey. I've wasted so much money hoping that the next piece of meat I buy is going to be a of decent quality.

They nearly had everything I wanted, even a flan case that I have been unable to buy in Tesco or Sainsburys for months! Bought the posh strawberries, they are amazing, sadly one of them was mouldy, hidden underneath. In date too! They were out of Iberico Pork, main reason I went in. Self checkout lady very helpful.

Monday approx 14:00 in June 2023. Well I've been to much better Waitrose stores! The shop although bright on the inside is dark outside but maybe this helps with climate control? It doesn't help with the plants outside as some of them were looking very sad and in need of a drink. The produce stock looked a bit bare which is unusual I think? The rest of the store was ok, adequate but nothing to write home about. Only 3 checkouts operating with longer queues at the self-service so a short wait. The checkout operator was a young guy who had gone to the ultra laid back I couldn't care less school of Waitrose grocery. The 60p plastic shopping bag was tossed down the conveyor belt and the rest of our shopping followed in the same manner. Everybody has a bad day perhaps this was his. Seriously Waitrose if you cannot get younger people who want to work for a living try recruitment from the returning to work retired as most of your customer training will have already been done over their life!

I have a alot of really good friends and the manager's looks after my Disability of Down's syndrome I have not got any symptoms of convid 19 and my female manager Karen is my best friend and a lot of regular customer's are my friends

Most of the employees in this supermarket don't smile! There is no vitality, and the service attitude is so-so!

Lovely store full of delicious goodies. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store itself is large, bright and well laid out.

Staff stuck in the past. Always get followed by security in this Lewes branch (tattoos an issue...?). Having been I'D in this Waitrose multiple times over the last few years, I'd always taken it as a compliment but the alcohol policy here is getting laughable. Told I wasn't allowed to buy alcohol as a 33 year old because I had my younger sister with me who is 14 made even funnier by the fact it was alcohol free beer.

This is Waitrose. What more can I say, great choice of products excellent customer service and friendly partners. The Lewes branch has a Meat, Cheese & Deli Counter in store and there is a Sushi Daily next to the counters. Free parking is available for customers for 1.5 hrs.

Not a Waitrose."fan" as such but this store has everything you need and more and most of the staff are very friendly

My regular food shopping place in lewes, unlike other places waitrose are usually well stocked with a great choice of foods . Must try the sushi bar always fresh. Friendly staff too .

This supermarket brand is expensive but there is quality in some things that are worth it. Like the Good one, which is of better quality and price, along with the loaf of bread with seeds, which is 1.6 pounds, it is good for short and specific purchases, which It is better to see what you are interested in buying, for example, kefir is bigger and cheaper than in other places, you will learn this over time, nearby, not far away, a 10-minute walk away, you will find Aldi and Tesco and a Gracia's gas station.

As always and everywhere, the best of the best. Costs a bit more, but what the hell. You want the best you pay..

Got what was needed, however need a refresh to where everything is located in the store.

Well organised supermarket where I can actually find things. Not the cheapest, but most people who shop here come for the selection and not for cheap food. Parking quite limited here though.

One of the smaller stores but still packed with good produce. Convenient collection bays in the car park.

Conveniently located town centre supermarket. Close to the bus station, Boots, banks, WH Smiths and some charity shops. Has its own car park and Big Issue vendor. Plaque outside says it used to be a Safeways. Reassuringly expensive.

What I love about the Waitrise staff they don't wait to be asked for help they were there when I needed help and did so with respect. Excellent supermarket brilliant staff

Certainly a store for its wealthy Lewes customer base (feels very much like Islington - full of casually dressed and intense, humourless patrons) but a decent place to shop. Staff are OK but not over friendly except for a more senior lady assistant at the cigarette kiosk. Absolutely lovely, if a bit slow. But who cares.

The lady serving on the fish counter was very helpful a good selection of fish 🎏. The man on the till was very. Cheerful and helpful.

What you would expect of a Waitrose store, neat and tidy aisles free of stock awaiting putting on the shelves. Good choice of products and and what used to be free coffee has been suspended due to covid. Not sure if or when it will return

The products on display has reduced considerably. Get Brexit back!

Poor service from the cashier who questioned if the person lived with the lady who was paying , when in fact it was her son

Very disappointed in my visit to Waitrose Lewes today. The checkout operator was very off hand and my husband said "rude" An older member of staff who showed no courtesy at all.

The only place I have been to lately where people have no face mask on. Can't all be exempt, maybe that's lewes...

Great service, above and beyond - I took a delivery recently and as always got an email in advance, confirming time and letting me know that a couple of items were not available. The driver was puzzled when he arrived, and said he was sure he'd seen them both in store as he'd passed through. I told him it was fine, neither was vital. A couple of hours later, there was a knock at the door and there was the driver with the missing items, which he'd picked up and delivered on his way home! So kind. Staff are generally cheerful and helpful, even when working under difficulties.

The place. Essentials are just that and good quality. Treat yourself too when you wish. Get points and a coffee if you remember your mug :)

Appalling service very slow and staff standing around chatting to each other

Good store as per usual being Waitrose, but seemed to have very little on the the shelves today?? But the biggest problem for myself is parking my nice car in the tightest of car parks you could imagine !! If you didn’t have door to door dents before you visited, you will have after parking here 🙄 !

Nice waitrose but be prepared to be followed around by security

There was no one on the cheese counter when I went in this morning so I very politely asked a gentleman on the fish counter if he would help me, I just wanted a whole block, no cutting or weighing involved. He told me he works on fish and that the woman is around somewhere. Not helpful. !!!! Not as helpful as you young lad who helped me out last time, who was happy to help. Maybe this older gentleman should go on a public relations course

My shopping in the store was fine, but very disappointed at the litter in the carpark and particularly where the trolleys are kept. This is an upmarket store which is spoilt by walking in the litter strewn mess outside.

Waitrose is waitrose so no point commenting on the produce. Instead I'll comment on the staff. A lot of the staff in this Waitrose are older more experienced people and this can be hit and miss. Some are the kindest and most wonderful people, some are super cool and I'd quite happily listen to for hours...some are like that horrible uncle you never wanted to visit when you were kid because they were really grumpy and their house smelled. Either way, it's always a lot more fun shopping here than the other two local supermarkets Tesco and Aldi.

Great store, I like the vibe.. I tend to zone out while shopping and think about existential crisis type stuff.. yknow walk past the potatoes and wonder if any single potato is sad, standard stuff.. This store wasn't too depressing, mainly because of the cool selection of stuff.. before I could be sad thinking of potatoes, I'd see a fruit I'd never seen, I mean who stocks dragonfruit.. wonderful! My girlfriend drives from Brighton just to find lightly salted Doritos.. we have found them in stock twice.. unheard-of in brighton. We also left with sushi, curlywurlys and "all the snacks" In conclusion, I had such a great time when I was leaving.. the bag broke, but did I care? Not one bit.

It was difficult to park, very cold I in the shop and the lay out of the shop isn't straight forward. Things fairly difficult to find unfortunately but the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Great click & collect service, I ordered a lovely personalised birthday cake. Although there are dedicated parking spaces for click and collect, there was a queue for parking- so leave extra time for this. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful.

Employees treat customers really bad. Food is expired and narrow minded people working here. The worst experience I ever had shopping

Saturday afternoon the shop shelves were rather messy if not empty. No excuse. Very disappointing!

Wow very impressed with Lewis waitrose. They have a brilliant mature meat cabinet which has a number of quality aged meats hanging up on display. Always a lovely selection of food and such variety of product. Yes it's a bit more expensive but you pay for what you get. Great staff lovely and helpful. Good parking but can get busy but nearby ncp but you have to pay.

Good shop, friendly staff. Signage on the way out of the car park is useless, very easy to turn right the wrong way up a one way street. OK if you are local but not for a visitor.

Was in less than half hour ago. My friend was paying for his goods and the woman serving was very rude and abrasive to him. Makes me want to shop elsewhere. No social distancing and people just push you out the way if they want the same as you

THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR COLEAGUES - LEWES Waitrose always has at least 4 employees who do no wear masks - its a small store- local Aldi and Tesco's and larger Hollingbury Asda combined do not have that many non mask wearing front line staff. It is different staff so there must be an exceptionally high ratio of EXEMPT mask wearers- I have told Waitrose several times and I think they have employed more non mask wearing employees they do not care

The prices to expensive. The big companies such Waitrose, Tesco , Aldi etc..m should understand the struggles of the actual society considering the 2 years of lockdown and to reduce the prices. Actually they are making big profits and raised the prices up!

Clean and tidy wide aisles. Easy access not many people around in the middle of the day. Easy to find things and they have a sushi bar where it is freshly made

Somewhat expensive, slightly limited range of choice as it's a fairly small store, tend to be out of stock of various items sometimes, though this may have improved recently.

Waitrose have the best products & service at a price of course but it's worth it if you can!

Just walked 45mins...and it’s closed at 8pm...even though opening hours state 9pm...staff very rude...said “we’re closing early today, you should have known!” How was I supposed to know this??

Well, I may have stood outside Waitrose but I didn't go in, so all I could say is that it's a shop, a shed, on a site that's too small, and they probably need to think about their longer term strategy, but they won't, so hey ho....

Just a bit nicer experience than any other supermarket.

This supermarket have got it completely right in terms of managing numbers allowed in at one time. Food is more expensive than other supermarkets but they provide a higher quality of produce overall and the wine section is excellent being manned by a lovely knowledgeable gent.

Always has what I need and whilst there are still restrictions on how many people can enter at one time there are rarely queues for the Haywards Heath store when I shop.
