Parking can be a challenge but otherwise excellent

Accused me of stealing a £10 plant as it wasn’t on a receipt they pulled out from somewhere. The receipt wasn’t mine but that didn’t stop the female Sherlock Holmes guarding self-checkouts.

Bought Valentine roses, £25 for 12. They still look good more than a week later. And are a more generous size and much less than online florists - who have cheapened the quality of their delivered products.

Really nice shop, young staff are so nice whenever we go in here. The produce is amazing. Love you still have a deli. Please don't get rid of it like other supermarkets. Do think you need someone to blow the carpark and get rid of tree leaves etc

To be fair, a good wee store, most of the staff are kind and courteous. However, the toilets are appalling. They are not of a standard that one has come to expect of Waitrose and the John Lewis group. Come on, team, sort it out, and let's get you the 5 stars the brand warrants.

Rubbish. 50% of the time they cancel half my order on Deliveroo because they have nothing in stock! Absolute waste of time and money! Now I have a useless order arriving which contains practically nothing for lunch and I have to order from elsewhere anyway! Cheers for the terrible service...

Little Expensive but great food

I went to get my Friday fish and was surprised not to get my usual 20% discount for having a loyalty card. Apparently if the gush is reduced on the counter, it isn't at the till. Feels really mean! Coupled with gaps in the shelves apparently due to lack of staff, this wasn't the usual experience. There were even bags of green new potatoes showing slight reduction, people were shocked that they were not being thrown away... Could do better.

Always an enjoyable experience shopping at Waitrose, calm and stress free.

Good store hour and a half parking gives time to walk around town too.

A great selection of produce at Waitrose. Located a few minutes walk from the high street in Bishops Stortford. You can park free for 1.5 hours and they have enough space for around 150 cars. They are open 8.00 - 20.00 most days and 10.00 - 16.00 on Sunday.

Excellent customer service from the staff in particular Jackie and another lady (apologies, I can’t remember her name) I had a few issues with self scanning and in turn the staff machines were not working either. The staff recognised I was with my four children and were very apologetic for the inconvenience caused and offered to assist with packing numerous times. A positive experience in an unfortunate situation

Very disappointing. I have been shopping here for the last 8 years. Today, however, I noticed a massive new surveillance camera above the entrance, recording everyone entering the store. It made me feel uneasy and cheap. The message it sends to customers is that they cannot be trusted and need to be watched. Shoplifters are unlikely to be deterred, but good customers will. I may well shop in Lidl in Harlow - at least it's cheaper.

Been in this Waitrose many times usually very helpful and kind staff. Went to pick up a parcel from the front desk but was meet with a rude staff member who then talked to other customers about us in a negative way. Another customer even spoke to me saying how rude the lady was. Wont be returning until this staff member is disciplined with some manners and respect for customers.

Such a disgusting experience at your bishop’s Stortford Waitrose. this isn’t the first time I have received this type of abuse. I went into your store today and a member of your staff behaved in a horrible and unprofessional way towards me. She left her shopping trolley unattended without the visibility of her shopping bag. I was curious about the plant pots discounted in the unattended trolley, she came from stores staff area and rudely said to me this is her shopping, am I blind !!!!! I apologised straight away but she walked off without acknowledging. Train your staff on customer service. Thank you

Picked up £35 Turkey Stuffed Crown on 24th …. Was so tasty and delicious - will definitely order another for next year! Worth the money. Also very quick and easy to pick up from the store.

Smaller store for Waitrose. Has most of the things required. They have no cafe but Florence Walk across the road has two.

Typically, whenever you visit a Waitrose Supermarket you know precisely what to expect. True, some costs are higher but regular shoppers know that most frequently bought general food and household products are competitively priced. Items on the deli, cheese, meat and fish counters are fresh, not prewrapped in plastic so you can see exactly what you are buying AND you can buy as little or as big a piece as you need. The Bishops Stortford store has a particularly exciting fresh food counter and a bakery that people on a diet should avoid because of the many tempting delicacies. The aisles are wide and there are generally sufficient checkout counters. Outside, the generous carpark means you can always find a space. Everything is on one level with double automatic doors providing easy access for wheelchairs and those with disabilities. Any issues? Outside the store is a selection of garden products. Instead of trying to carry a heavy bag of garden compost around, wouldn't it be just as easy to take a ticket for scanning at the end of shopping then pick up the heavy bags on the way out. Any queries and its on your receipt.

He found me the best way to cook a turkey by saying to me ""To work out the cooking time, a good rule of thumb is to allow 20 minutes per kg, and then +70 minutes for a 2–3.9kg turkey, or +90 minutes for a 4–10kg turkey."". Very good offers and definitely good quality. Sometimes car parking irksome (no fault of Waitrose, just inconsiderate/incapable drivers). Hesitated giving 5 stars as often find items not on shelf. Very friendly staff, who are always ready to assist in a very courteous manner, can usually solve that problem. Meat, fish and deli counter offer exceptional choice of products. Again, same plaudits for assistants at these and also bakery counter.

Ordered two jackets, told order was ready for collection. Tried to use the check in screen, didn't work. Spoke to customer service assistant who said only half the order had arrived. I asked when I could expect the remaining item, he just shrugged. Not impressed...

One of the most horrendous customer service experiences of my life. Went in for lunch. Saw they now offered a meal deal on "selected lines" however no indetifiers as to what those were. Head to the self serve and the deal didn't come off. Asked the attendee and she said I need to complete the transaction to see the offer. Well the card machine was still saying full price. She then insisted I had to go back down to the cabinet and change my items. I explained it wasn't marked and she said it wasn't her problem as she didn't work down there. Asked if a team leader could support and told me no. I had to go to customer service. Went to the CSD and 2 staff members were there talking about another problem. Neither one acknowledged me. Finally after they had solved it I go a "yes?" explained the situation. Was told she didn't know what was on it and told me to go back over. Said there were no labels. Marched me over to verify my answer. "no, it is not clear is it". Told I needed to change my items. Managed to get a pda and scan a few and found that the drink was the issue. Fizzy and sweet drinks included but not water? Finally was allowed to pay waitrose for a poor quality wrap, crisps and drink I didn't want. Cheers waitrose!

I normally shop in Tesco so I found Waitrose quite expensive and the quality didn't seem to be that good, pepper soft and leaking and one broken egg was very surprised

Been shopping John Lewis ( oxford street ) waitrose holloway road many years. Never had a problem. Just moved to Bishop’s Stortford. After few bad experiences in Bishops Stortford waitrose will stop going that brunch. Some member of staff xenophob. So upsetting.

Expensive but it's Waitrose! The highest quality supermarket chain and this branch is no exception.

I shop here on a Friday morning. During lockdown you will queue for about 10 to 15 minutes. Trollies are cleaned and hand sanitizer provided. I use the Waitrose scanning app which works very well.

Had to wait too long for a click and collect 20 mins ! And stuff missing but on recipe ☹️ 15 mins on phone to get our money back ! Internet useless to get money back !!

Covid precautions are good except for a rather narrow combined entrance/exit.
