Cafe shut today 7th February ,Also when we visited 19th and 3rd January 3rd December. Last time able to have a coffee was 20th November. Four days earlier was able to have coffee and cake One week only when we went trice was cafe open Surprised to see today when entering store that signage indicated existing Cafe One would expect better from a partnership establishment Is this a case of false marketing ?

I found a GOOD SELECTION OF REASONABLY PRICED FOOD AND DRINKS.Some people must hold a grudge for Waitrose, if you go to other cafes/ eating places you will realise that the prices at Waitrose Cafe are actually very good. The cheese toastie was delicious at £4:95 I think, well worth it.A tea or coffee, scone, preserve and clotted cream for £3:95 an absolute bargain!

I called in at the cafe today with my elderly mother for pot of tea, The cup was stained and dirty, When i returned it to the cafe assistant to get it changed she checked the others on the tray to find they were also dirty. The Cashier refused my gift card as payment saying i couldn't use this in the cafe, even though it was a john lewis/waitrose gift card, She called a supervisor who eventually accepted it, I would never return back to the cafe again, There are plenty more cafes in sevenoaks which are far nicer and have staff that are more professional in customer service skills

I don't know how you got a free coffee, they charge the menu price and you get a half price cake or sandwich. It's empty in there since the free coffees stopped. In the middle of the day there were about 5 people in there. It used to be packed and hard to find a table.Did you get a takeaway coffee they were still free as far as I know, unless they have a special offer on this week. But we've had to pay for the coffees since they amended their offer, and they now offer a half price cake etc.Problem is they still don't really know how to make the coffee properly. When Aldi opens near Sainsburys it will wipe out a good proportion of their customers?

The cafe has changed position since I was last there, now it is further inside the shop and looks out to the side of the building. I found the staff very nice and the lattés excellent. I have a Waitrose card and my coffee was free so I'm not sure what carrotcakelady is talking about when she says "free coffee stopped."

Sevenoaks café were supposed to be using a new better coffee, since the free coffees stopped. Tastes the same to me. As for the Baristas they were getting in to make it. It's still the staff who a lot of the time don't know one end of a latte from another. They now have 'half price' sandwiches, cakes instead of the free coffee or cakes.I had to read it twice to see it was 'half price' not free. A lady thought she'd been overcharged when getting a sandwich, it was still £2.25 for a half price sandwich! The carrot cake that 'was' £2.50 was the small cakes you buy in the shop so for £1.25 that was still too much. When she served it up she gave the man two pieces of it as it's so small. No one in there now, more in the free bit downstairs, they are not even customers. No one in shop now, we now shop in M&S and Tesco's.No incentive to use Waitrose now, we only shop there once a week for toilet rolls (which have now gone up) and the steak offer.

I have gone into Waitrose quite a few times now, always served by the same person, Natasha. I think she is extremely rude. She doesn't say hello or even goodbye. I think she needs to go on a customer service course. She runs the tills downstairs so if you do shop in Waitrose, go upstairs!

went to Sevenoaks today, first visit since free coffees stopped. Supposed to be new type of expensive coffee beans now. tasted a bit stronger, but forgot to ask for single shot. U get a free loaf cake with a paid for coffee now but my coffee and walnut loaf cake was a salted caramel cake. It was fairly empty compared to when it had free coffees, same as the rest of store since the stopped the 20% discount on selected goods. We hardly shop there now, only once a week.

This is a small café in the Waitrose store at the top of the High Street in Sevenoaks. I visited for a quick morning snack. The café is separated from the store by a basic barrier. The layout is clean and relatively simple. There are a couple of sofas which are convenient if you're just having a drink. The staff were polite and efficient - order at the counter, grab your cutlery and condiments, sit down and your food is brought to you. My order arrived swiftly, lots of hot bacon in a tasty ciabatta roll. Very nice.

A typical self service department store restaurant set on the same level as the shopping floor. Clean, practical, and offering a range of hot and cold fare. Free tea or coffee with your food purchase if you have a Waitrose Card. Always a good selection of newspapers to read.

We regularly shop here and often stop for a coffee and cake. There seems to be a management failure as far as the cafe is concerned. The queues are often almost out into the main store. Understandable when its very busy but there seems to be little by way of management overseeing things and ensuring it is working as well as possible. Today on a mid Saturday afternoon there was just one lady serving (as is often the case). She did her best but she was having to go back into the kitchen to get clean plates. No one was clearing dirty tables, no one was keeping the cutlery and sugar stocked and this poor lady was trying to do that as well. The floor at the entrance to the kitchen was covered in paper napkins and the young man who was supposedly clearing dirty tables wandered in and out without ever bothering to bend down and tidy things up. It was not as if the cafe was particularly busy. It seems to me that the store management do not pay enough attention to the cafe. It is either understaffed or it is not supervised properly. It does not reflect the standards one expects from the John Lewis group.

Despite giving this cafeteria several chances to improve, it never fails to disappoint! Every time we have eaten there, we have encountered some problem or other - coffee too coldtoasted cheese sandwich - with no cheese (!) 2 full English breakfasts which were inedible, + rock hard toast and served in pasta bowls - yes, pasta bowls! After the English breakfasts, we gave up. It needs somebody to go in there and sort the whole place out, in my opinion

I came in here a few times during my recent UK trip with my parents. There is one rude staff member who is always in a bad mood - so much so that I have emailed the head office to tell them. The other day she refused to get more milk at the coffee stand for my mum even though the jug was empty and today she yelled at me for daring to change over my tea as the earl grey tea bags were in the wrong place so I had made a cuppa I didn't want. Perhaps if she focussed more on her job than her poor attitude things would be better!I would suggest Tesco in town is a nicer store where the staff have better manners.

Poor bird of Christmas, did they have to kill it??? Anyway, very very good.

Waitrose cafes used to do an excellent bacon roll, packed with thin-cut crispy bacon. We arrived at Waitrose Sevenoaks after a long drive. I was very hungry and - in the absence of the bacon roll - I ordered bacon and egg sandwich, thinking it would be comparable. It was not. When I lifted the top slice of flabby white bread, I found a piece of flaccid bacon that looked almost raw and a runny egg, guaranteed to spoil a white shirt, had I been silly enough to try and eat it. I didn't try. I don't like fat that isn't crispy and I don't like glutinous fried egg. It was clear that the item had been prepared by someone with no idea of how to cook. We left and went to Costa's for a muffin and coffee.

I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

Add coffees before we went around the house and there were plenty of tables both inside and outside. Having visited the house we then went back for some lunch and had a variety of items from the menu. All items were very tasty and well presented. The staff on the counters were fine. They could’ve been a bit more efficient doing hot drinks when there was a big queue, else food and service was really good.

I had a couple of hours to kill while on business in Sevenoaks, and fancied an all day breakfast. I googled and found this little place off the beaten track (didn't want to pay for parking!). Really tasty full English breakfast and a good cup of coffee, and ever so great value at £8.00. Maybe not the greatest venue, but definitely worth it for the food.

Costa Café is a gem! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, especially the one with the amazing tattoos, Nina--they were so warm and attentive. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, with locals chatting and even offering great suggestions on places to visit and things to do in the area. The coffee was perfectly brewed, and the treats were delicious, making it the ideal spot to relax and recharge. Highly recommend stopping by for a cozy, welcoming vibe and top-notch coffee!
