Waitrose in Stroud

With so many good cafes in Stroud, please do not be sentimental about this once wonderful cafe, or waste your money. Lockdown happened and the powers that be decided that it would be a great idea to sell inferior goods: Am I the only one who has noticed that fewer folk are sitting on their seats. The cakes and pastries are synthetic in looks and taste. Whoever is responsible for this disaster should be looking for a new job. The staff in Waitrose Stores are always delightful.

A great start to the day. Great service and food. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. I should treat myself more often. Everyone was so pleasant and smiley.

Shocking attitude by some of the staff at Waitrose Abergavenny, who walk around with their heads up their own bum. I witnessed two female “shelf stackers” laughing at the expense of an elderly man snd joking about him amongst themselves. Wasn’t until the one realised I’d seen this that they stopped.

We were shopping for Beaujolais Nouveau, which is a seasonal release, and Waitrose had good reviews for the quality of theirs. We first contacted Cheltenham store, but they were sold out. Then we contacted Stroud store who said they had plenty. When we arrived at the store, we at first couldn't see the wine we were after, so decided to ask a member of staff, admittedly in a different department. They stopped what they were doing and used the headset they wear to instantly broadcast needed help to the right person. Great technology employed. The right person duly showed up within a minute and showed us where the beaujolais was stored. Ha also made us aware that there was also a Rose variant of the Beaujolais using his palmpad to check stock levels. He then promptly brought us some bottles of this from the stockroom, We felt as those who have had there objective completely fulfilled quickly and pleasantly. Speedy service done with style! Well done, waitrose staff, and good use of technology.

As you would expect with Waitrose there is an excellent range of local produce to enjoy and it is well worth a visit. Plenty of parking and just outside the town centre. About 5 minutes walk.

Shocking experience In Daventey Waitrose. Staff were absolutely shockingly rude. Very odd and worrying experience. Gang mentality by the staff. Really upsetting and manipulative behaviour. I had 3 small children with me and a trolly full of expensive food, which I promptly abandoned, there is no way I would spend my money in a shop with staff like that. The lady I was dealing with pushed her trolly into me! I asked for the manager who was extremely young, and quite frankly he just didn’t care. Obviously the staff know they can be as rude and aggressive and they like because they all behave the same way and the manager supports them. I’ve never in my life had such an awful experience.
