We visited here on a a Wednesday afternoon in March. We did some shopping using my mobile phone which scanned all the items, once I’d remembered to tune in to Waitrose Wi-Fi ! It worked quite well until I reached the payment area, and the machine did not recognise my transactions, but, with the help of the supervisor, it eventually did! Next time, I think I’ll use a Waitrose handset ! We bought a mug of tea, bit sad they do pots of tea! A bit disappointed, but the area was clean and we enjoyed looking at the magazines front pages from where we were sitting! I was tempted into buying one. Disabled parking very good, and staff very pleasant as always . Lovely display of flowers and plants.

Plenty of time for the rest of your party to visit the cafe now they have removed most of their standard checkouts, resulting in massive queues and delays. What were they thinking?

The cafe is nice but only serves savoury’s, not cooked breakfast. The free coffee machine is out of action & been so for over 2 weeks.

This environment makes me want to shop... or should that be over shop? Nice wide isles and these remain consistent - no moving stuff around, hence quick & easy to shop!

As you would expect for Waitrose the staff and service are the highest standard. The cafe offers a few light snacks and a range of cakes & coffee. There is a large free car park. Car park barriers were provided when the shop opened but I’ve never seen them used.

The “dine in area” is pleasant, particularly on a dry day when you can sit outside. Reasonably priced toasties, baguettes, light meals and toasted tea cakes! Nice selection of pastries and cakes and a little cake stand area where you can choose what you would like. Nice hot coffee and you can have warm milk added if you prefer warm milk to cold milk. Staff very helpful even when it does get very busy at certain times of the day.

Living in a village without a shop (we do have a pub though ) you worry that getting supply’s will mean a long treck to the nearest big town supermarket, well not for us as Malmesbury (small market town) has this fantastic Waitrose store serving the town and the surrounding villages brilliantly.

We called here after visiting the Abbey. We asked for a veggi meal, a puff pastry roll with roasted vegetables. The staff picket this up using the same implements as they did for meat products, and did not employ any method to ensure the meal was not contaminated with meat products. I would not go here again.

On the whole I do not consider Waitrose to be good value for shopping, it is over priced and I do think it is a myth to say the quality is better.......it is no better than Sainsbury's which is where I do my weekly shop, I am not a 'bargain basic range' shopper, I like good quality food at competitive prices, over the years the quality at Waitrose has plummeted, I no longer use the shop at all however, while out with a friend recently she suggested Malmesbury Waitrose for a coffee, the only word to describe it was awful, a busy Saturday with only students serving, and not enough of them, they only seemed to know 2 speeds, dead slow and stop, tills at cafe not working so written on piece of paper what you had, that had to be taken to another till for payment...another long wait

I loath shopping and in the main, i find someone else to do it for me (i am a disabled pensioner!). However, if i can be driven to this Waitrose in Malmesbury, i actually try and walk around the store! The isles are wide and no congestion. They do not keep changing the products on each isle, so i know just where to go every visit. This is the only supermarket that i will go to! Staff are kind, facilities are good and food selection is fantastic!

I am gluten free and although they sell a wide range of gluten free products in store including bread and sandwiches the cafe seems unable to provide a gluten free main course. Very disappointing and this has happened on 3 occasions.

Called into Malmsbury Waitrose for a coffee and cake on Sunday afternoon. Coffee was very drinkable and the cake was okay. Rather dismayed though that the coffee was in cardboard cups and the cake on cardboard plates with plastic cutlery. Not what is expected in a Waitrose cafe and certainly hope it's not the sign of things to come in other Waitrose establishments. Dissapointed. Felt sorry for the excellent staff who must be constantly asked for drinks in proper cups and food on China plates.

Stopped here for a light lunch. It was about 12.30 and a queue had already formed. When we got to the food choice, it was very limited. Some sausage rolls, hardly any sandwiches and toasties. We had already been waiting 10 minutes and as we were very uninspired, we decided to go. Disappointing for Waitrose.

Great experience while shopping. Grab your paper, get a great cup of Duchy Breakfast tea and relax while your other half does the shopping. Week after week a great experience. Now my daughter comes so she can have her hot chocolate with marshmallows. Friendly service and really yummy cakes. A new range of Waitrose 1 cakes are beyond yummy as we shared them with each other. You can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and the view of Malmesbury.

Having ate here before and had a good time I thought it would be good for a birthday meal for 4 on a Monday lunch time how disappointing it was. 2 Steak & Stiton pies ordered although very tasty lacked Stiton and was meant to be served with veg we had to ask for the veg which when it arrived after several minutes the excuse was we only have 2 microwaves not the excuse I wanted, the other 2 meals were fine, unfortunately we will not go back.

We visited on a Sunday for breakfast. Arriving a couple of minutes after 10am (opening time), we queued for a table and then again to order food. There were plenty of tables but appreciated it was busy - not all tables were full. We waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive, although coffee arrived much earlier. This was prompted by us asking where our food was/checking the order had been made, to which we were told ‘we’d just have to wait because it was busy’. The food arrived 5 minutes later. The food was tasty and we’ve no complaints about the quality or price. But, something about the system here just doesn’t make sense, queuing at every point and then waiting another 50 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich, doesn’t make sense. We arrived at 10 and didn’t leave until 12:15…. People had started arriving for lunch! Sadly, we’d not return. There are just other places nearby that are doing it better.

The location of this establishment is strange because the shop/restaurant sits within what is essentially a business park in the middle of nowhere but it is not hard to find. The setting was ideal for a summer lunch with lots of variously covered areas to shelter from the sun or rain if it happens. Then you realise that all these covered areas are, in fact, the restaurant! I saw no evidence of indoor seating. The main seating area is fundamentally a plastic marquee attached to a shop unit and all the seats are picnic benches. They have an interesting menu, which changes regularly I understand, and it is obvious that this establishment is not trying be a full all ‘singing and dancing’ restaurant and they do make that clear. It uses locally sourced quality produce for Deli style light meals, specifically lunches, and also snacks. The people running it are personable, welcoming and efficient. We found them very helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. Overall, the food menu is a little overpriced I feel but not excessive. That said, a few dishes do seem “over the top’ for what they are. It is the shop where the prices are eyewatering expensive and I think they have gone too far. I can here them now saying that they are supporting local suppliers and that this comes at a cost but times are hard and I do truly believe they, or their suppliers, need to face reality as the pricing is far too high. We need to support businesses like this but they have to respond too! Did I enjoy my meal? Yes, fantastic, Would I go again? Yes, definitely! Would I encourage you to go? Yes definitely! I just warn you that your visit will be enjoyable but not cheap so be prepared.
