Waitrose in Malvern Hills

Disgusting service. Menu options limited based on the fact they don’t have half of the ingredients…. ‘Waiting for deliveries’. The staff in this shop are rude. The management accept no responsibility for anything and make excuses. They don’t value their customers as they once did.

In reality Waitrose is similar to any of the big supermarkets. One thing I will say concerns fresh produce, which is routinely of lesser quality: repeatedly hard inedible avocados which do not ripen at home, random quality apples. There's nothing like M&S for fruit and veg.

I have complained to management several times about the area outside being very dirty. I was told it was being cleaned but nothing happens. Why not? Its a disgrace. All the way up from Graham Rd. And why have you stopped selling buttermilk?

To the rude security woman . I will not be visiting Malvern Waitrose again just becuase I was wearing a tracksuit she don’t need to follow me around . Thinking I was a chav . Very rude lady I left my trolly and walked out . She followed me staring at me outside . I felt very uncomfortable. I will not be using this store again obviously she has no people skills

For those who love food - you pay a bit more but the range and quality of the products is excellent. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly

Can only assume one star reviews are by trolls and/or staff of so-called competitors. Politest and most helpful staff of any supermarket. Not the cheapest, but quality and variety are unequalled.

... the partners here are doing a fantastic job keeping the store open, managing the queues and providing great service with care, consideration and good humour. Nothing is going to make things easy at the moment but these guys are doing what they can to help. Well done and thank you 😊

Always a good selection of goods with veg, fruit, and lots more . Also has a good buffet with nice food and a view over the fields to Evesham

Love this little convenience store!!! Friendly and little surprises for the holidays. Plus having alcohol on hand is nice!!

the cafe has the same food as other waitrose cafes but the amount of food you get can vary wildly from day to day. i had the same thing twice in the same week and the amount was quite different. With a waffle and cream cheese there was even a missing jug of honey that came with it the first day but not the second day.

Cannot believe Bude tunnel has higher ratings and more significant reviews than this modern masterpiece. The faded local vinyl printed photography capturing pictures of this area of outstanding natural beauty ,hanging along this perspex wonder, is something to behold. As the romantic whispers of Elgar's great compositions flutter along the high quality wanzi shopping trollies and past the big issue seller and quality houseplants. You stand back in awe of this dramatic architectural giant. Sound in the knowledge you won't get wet or affected by detritus from above. Maybe such a special place should not be shared.

Had a great meal, staff were welcoming upon entrance and very friendly throughout. Clean and calm atmosphere and the food was great! Ordered the raspberry vanilla lemonade cooler and chicken and bacon flatbread and it was all very splendid!

Had an amazing meal at this cafe on Wednesday 24th July with a friend and was very impressed all staff were lovely despite there young age they were very helpful and obviously know a lot about their job overall exceptional experience and very impressed. Recommend!!

We stopped in Waitrose cafe for lunch as we had never been let down before. However this experience was a complete disappointment and we felt pretty ripped off by the end of it. We had ordered a cooked breakfast, the fish finger wrap and the macaroni cheese. Not only did we have to wait a long time for our food, but 2 of the 3 meals that came out were totally unacceptable. The macaroni cheese was completely burnt solid and what had survived had congealed so was totally inedible. The wrap cost almost £6 so we expect more than what was presented. All we got was a measly portion of fish, a few tiny pieces of lettuce a small blob of tartare-so the wrap was VERY dry-and a single miniature gherkin (and we didn’t even get a whole one!). The wrap was folded to look much bigger but was actually less than half the size when folded to eat! This was definitely not worth £5.75 that we paid! We managed to get a second macaroni and cheese, which was dumped in front of my friend followed by a begrudged apology. This experience has really made us reconsider visiting again which is such a shame.

Malvern is a hidden jem far enough away from the motorway to have retained its 60's feeling. The roads to it from Tewkesbury once inside the Worcestershire border are well maintained and are a joy to drive on hardly any Traffic Lights or roundabouts you have to use your driving skills its great

I hate looking for supermarkets in strange towns. Waitrose is centrally placed, has a large car park & the usual range of excellent food stuffs plus quite a lot of extras that you would expect to find in a John Lewis at Home store

Total lack of involvement from the teenagers on duty. No welcome, backs to customers while two staff prepared a strawberry milkshake, while one ate strawberries. Young people, the future, god help us.

Specifically asked for decaf coffee as I have heart condition and they gave me regular. Felt very ill afterwards. No interest or care shown by staff when enquiring about gluten free options (they said there were none). Staff say they’ve run out of food when quite obviously in a supermarket this is ridiculous! Disappointing won’t ever go back.

Yes I can confirm that this is a waitrose and very similar to every other waitrose I have ever been in. Absolutely no distinguishing features whatsoever

A lovely spot for a quick lunch with friends from work. Something for everyone. Good selection of dishes and cakes. Hot drink and discounted cake offers are good value. Would recommend.

everybody comes here for shoping and eating but listen. my mom says it is cheap and not made properly. not ideal for lunch but not bad.

There was no queue but the service was slow. There was some confusion when the sandwich I had chosen was whisked away from my plate after we had paid for it and when I asked what was happening, it was simply that it was going to be heated! The pot of tea was quite small for the price and not strong enough for me. But the main issue was the cafe was far too cold and we had to depart for a warmer place to chat!

My daughter bought 2 bottles of whisky and the male checkout operator remarked to her that she must have a problem??!

Ok so the store is reasonable but the cafe is awful, staff just don't seem to care and don't seem to understand about serving good food and drinks, overall quite a sloppy place. The decor looks like a second rate works canteen.

We've used Waitrose shop cafés many times and suggested to friends it would be a good place to meet and have breakfast. What a mistake. Couldn't get coffee orders right, or food orders. Bacon burnt, egg missing off the egg and bacon gap, tried to give us someone else's' order. Not cleaneither.

Staff are very slow and unwelcoming. The cake display always looks a mess in the afternoon and the tables are often dirty. Used to visit for the free coffee but not worth going if you have to pay.

decided to visit the cafe in our local waitrose for a sandwich and coffee. Fairly quiet so was surprised when the staff told everyone there was a 20 minute wait for hot food.

Now that you can no longer get the free coffee in the cafe there really is no point in going in for the mediocre food offerings.

Been in a few times and i do like the place.I really enjoy reading the paper with my coffee and breakfast in a lovely clean and bright environment.Food and drink top notch.Now im afraid each time i go i notice there is a lot of chat between staff which is great but not when you have a queue forming up.I have seen on two occasions now people walking off shaking there heads and the staff seem to be oblivious to it.Its a lot more slack than the worcester branch thats a very well run cafe.

It was late and nowhere else was open so we went to Waitrose's cafe. Clean but overpriced with very little selection (probably because of the time) and their Special offer board only applies to Waitrose card holders, which was not obvious from the poster.

Visiting on Easter Monday may have been the issue but I was disappointed with the poor organisation and long wait in the cafe. We were told on arrival that there would be a 30 minute wait for food - even soup!! - so we decided to just have sandwiches and cakes. Even this took a long time to sort as the queue was long and then it seemed there weren't enough staff so the same person was trying to put things through the till and sort out getting cakes, etc.

The toast and porridge that they offer at Waitress for breakfast is delicious! They often update the food they have to offer too, and it is even better with a MyWaitrose card - you can get a free hot drink if you buy something from the cafe (even a banana)

Cafe food range is very good as is the quality. The staff are friendly and professional. The store is well laid out the choice and quality as you would expect from Waitress are second to none. Again the staff are credit to the store

We stopped for lunch before our visit to Morgan nearby. The food was good but the café itself was in need of attention. It looked very worn and not completely clean. Not Waitrose standard at all.

This place is always busy and can be quite noisy at times, especially during school holidays or after school times.

We had just finished shopping, and my daughter wanted to stay for a cuppa and cake . We collected a tray and joined the short queue, we had just moved up to by the till point , and waited for one of the two people behind the counter to notice us , what a shock when they turned round and served the people behind us , HELLO, are we invisible, I said excuse me we are waiting, and we were told ( oh I didn't see you ) now unless I was wearing my invisibility coat , you could plainly see us .

Called in for afternoon tea and cake after walk on the Malverns. Only one scone left and informed they no longer serve clotted cream only jam! Shame always enjoyed this. Queue at cafe till and staff seemed muddled and not as professional as I'd usually expect at Waitrose. Disabled toilet facilities not clean, no toilet roll and water on floor - really unacceptable. Hope to have a better experience next time.

Enjoyed a lovely pot of tea and a delicious cake on our visit. Slightly complicated till service but it did result on a free cup of coffee thanks to a Waitrose card.

Visit the cafe quite regularly and majority of staff there are very friendly. Coffee is not great but it's free I guess. I can't make my mind up on whether to complain or congratulate Waitrose on their member of staff by the name of Andrew. Andrew is I guess like marmite and he is rude to customers regularly and rarely smiles. But somehow he is quite likeable in his own unique way. Myself and my partner try to see if he can smile once in a while sadly we are still waiting three years on. Cakes are nice but coffee ask for one shot only.

Waitrose in Malvern is certainly unique, the staff are exceptional, Hazel on the front desk is in a league of her own, plus her colleague that celebrated her I think 14 year at Malvern. Good team. Note to John Lewis, don't make the isles much narrower, you will lose that feeling of, this is a good place to be.

I agree with other reviews about gaps in stock on shelves and apparent lack of interest by staff.

We live in Kidderminster but had been recommended by friends to visit the Worcester Waitrose. We went for an "afternoon out" planning to have a late lunch and a good look around the supermarket (and a bit of shopping).

I find this store usually has a lot more different products to certain types of supermarkets which are cheaper. So if you need something more specialised come here. There were several tables in the cafe which needed cleaning. I tend to self check shopping now because I have had to complain twice about one cashier who I found rude.

I note that some previous reviews have winged about toilets and lack of stock on shelves, when in fact they should have been reviewing the cafe/restaurant so I will keep my comments to the cafe/restaurant as I enjoy The shopping aspect within the store and the staff on the whole are excellent.

Despite the slightly slow service - and the staff were very apologetic about this - the food was good and staff remained helpful and friendly.

Couple of visits - first time most tables uncleared. Andrew on counter surly. Second time 9am and already run out of seasonal coffee flavouring. Andrew yet again unfriendly and rude to customer in front re confusion over ordering when it was the staff's fault for mislabelling pastries. We make a joke of it now every time we go re: Andrew's attitude. A warmer welcome wouldn't go amiss . Food itself good on the whole.

Saturday 26th November 10.00 am. The shelves are bare and management is unresponsive. Manager said he would be filling the shelves and 20 minutes later he had not come back, upon which I asked another gentleman stocking other shelves why so little produce was available.The response was that I'm doing the best I can and he walked off.

Waitrose supermarket is just of Edith Walk Malvern town centre its away very busy a great place just to sit back and have a drink with a quick snack after shopping if your in the area check it out

Waitrose puts itself up as the premier supermarket, which yes there groceries are very good. BUT the toilets at the GreatMalvern store are terrible. They are dirty they smell and a complete modernisation is needed now. It is the first time I have had to use them, but never again. I have used transport cafe toilets that were far better. The big spending people of Malvern deserve better.

A well stocked Waitrose with all you could want. The service was excellent on each visit. The fresh cheese counter was very good, and there was an excellent selection of wines.

We enjoyed both the convenience of the Waitrose supermarkets and enjoyed its cafe, all of which is located in a historic, high ceiling led building in Great Malvern, with views of the countryside.

Popped in for a bite to eat, my daughter loved her fish fingers and chips and my fish cakes were sublime, so much so that I found them on the shop floor and purchased more for dinner. Cafe was clean and staff were friendly as always.

We have always liked Waitrose but suspect they are dumming down in terms of variety of produce. What has really upset me tonight again is walking along the side of the store to the entrance. There is only one word to describe this - grubby. The outside of store has not been cleaned for a long long time. Disgraceful!!

Great choice of products and can be guaranteed of quality. Probably not super cheap food but they try to have sustainably sourced products and the staff are usually friendly and helpful. I prefer to pay slightly more for good quality and not wrecking the planet.

This store is large and bright with very good produce and meats and a decent selection of wines. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Popped in for a quick coffee and cake to rest my tired legs from walking up the hill but it was move the dirty cups out of the way first, unusual for a Waitrose.

A Waitrose is a Waitrose is a Waitrose. However..... The Waitrose car park is big and free for anyone to use. You don't have to shop at Waitrose to park there. Right in the middle of Malvern. Brilliant!

We regularly come over to waitrose for coffee and cake. Apply for a waitrose card and you get a free hot drink as long as you buy something (even a banana ).

The ladies do their best, but all 3 times we've been for coffee and a cake the service was very slow. And one time they got the coffee order completely wrong. However, when you do get it, the coffee is reasonable, and the cakes tasty. The place is very clean. And it's very convenient, when you are shopping there anyway.

I used to use this supermarket but now I go to Tescos in Worcester. The prices and deals are MUCH better, more value for money and an excellent range of Gluten free products

As there is not a Waitrose in Worcester I always enjoy shopping here when I occasionally visit Malvern the store is bright and it is easy to find everything you need and the staff are always friendly and helpful

Can find many of the lovely Waitrose favourites including the pretentious attitude by that lady near the till. Why is that darn woman always there in every store? But overall its just a Waitrose, enough of the review reading and get inside, those Limoncello sorbets won't buy themselves.

No.. seriuosly. We go in often for a coffee or snack if we have been to a matinee or early film showing at the theatre.

The staff are always efficient and this is a popular cafe for shoppers in the supermarket. A shame they shut the door that lets you directly into it though, as you have to walk right down by the supermarket and through it and back again if you approach from the east.
