Pretty awful really. No sign of staff - until someone arrived behind us and literally shouted for them to come. Ordered a bacon roll and porridge, to be pointed to a chiller cabinet of prepackaged food. Told there was no scrambled egg. For £5 avocado on toast arrived as one small slice - it really was tiny . If this is typical of Waitrose, we are lucky to have Booths up north instead.

It was a coffee and snack stop. Good service, good coffee and sandwich. Very clean, there didn't seem to be any rush, good overall

Went in for a breakfast roll. Asked for bacon roll - disinterested server pointed me to a chiller cabinet of rolls to be reheated. Didn’t want a sweaty roll so asked for scrambled egg. Was told that they may have sold out. No eggs in a supermarket! Had the scrambled- horrible plasticky pre-mixed glop. Awful. No wonder Waitrose are struggling!

I really liked the staff there ,very friendly & kind ladies !! I saw an elderly couple tried to tip for one female worker who very politely turned it down !! It was a heart warming scene to witness !! I had a tea & a scone there ,unfortunately it was a hard one ,it would had been delicious if it was fresher ! I bet ! As it tasted fine . Just hard . Not stale ,though ! Scones & tea were very affordable. The atmosphere was very relaxing !! It's always so good to have a cafe inside of a grocery store !! Before ,or after shopping ,we all wanna relax & have a cuppa ,don't we all !? Lol. It was in my bucket list & accomplished !! YAY !! Lol. I shopped a little at the supermarket, too !! I bought delicious fresh ORGANIC raspberries/ blueberries 🫐 😋 They were perfect !!! So sweet 😋 💖 And not a single mold on 'em !! It's very hard to find berries with no molds at stores as they are so prone to & shipped to shops like 3 days after being picked !! They were affordable ,reasonably priced, too !! I bought bottles of water of their brand ,too ! The cap opened 3/4 ,so it stayed on ,very clever !!! I wish if we have that here in L.A.,too !! What a brilliant idea 💡 👏 👍👍I also bought their Waitrose eco bags which were also very very reasonably priced !! Amazing !!! I highly recommend the super market & recommend to use the cafe to relax ,too !! They had toilets outside ,right before entering the supermarket by the front door ! Very convenient, too !

Felt completely ostracised for being veggie and allergic to cheese. Kept offering me fish, vegetarians don’t eat fish, I’m allergic to that too. Was going to be charged £6 for a plain jacket potato and side salad and that was a drama. Never ever will I enter a Waitrose cafe again! Totally overpriced and rude staff!

We ordered the Welsh rabbit. The Cafe was busy and the service slow. The very cheap Welsh rabbit was lamentably poor quality. The cheese topping was regrettably short in cheese!

It is cramped with very little seating. In my experience half of the menu is usually unavailable. If you can find something you like it is very expensive but the food when it comes is reasonable. Not somewhere you would plan to go.

I went with my mother for breakfast at the Truro waitrose cafe last Friday. I ordered a poached egg on flat mushroom with avocado and piri piri houmous. They had run out of the houmous and apologised which was fine. Sadly when said breakfast arrived it was uncooked. Sent it back and when arrived again 2 minutes later the egg was completely like rubber and the mushroom still uncooked. I took it back again and the "chef" said they only heat food not cook it! Was quite shocked and asked for a refund which was requested. I am quite shocked that Waitrose cannot cook a single mushroom or poach an egg!

This large branch is at the bottom of the hill in this historic town. it is not the best laid out branch and finding the exit is a challenge after a visit to the cafe! The cafe is oddly-shaped and too small as it seems rather popular. I only ordered a coffee but the young staff were polite and the fare was delicious and all for 30p. Well-done.

A convenient place to take a break from shopping. Very popular with shoppers. Everything you would expect from Waitrose in a pleasant and chatty cafeteria.Just leave your trolley close by and enjoy good coffee next to the freshly baked bread. Cunning design plan? Everything fresh and still with windows to people watch (or be seen)

There's not a lot to say about Waitrose - really good food, reasonable prices. Not necessarily the cheapest, but always good quality. This store benefits from a lovely location so if you're picking up a quick lunch there's the river to provide a nice backdrop to your picnic.

I have reviewed various Waitrose cafes and apart from Hereford which is a bit of a let down they are all good value, clean and tidy, a bit slow but with good food and drink especially if you use your Waitrose card for a free drink with your meal. I was really disappointed when they took the "flatbread" off the menu, especially the one with Chicken, Bacon and Brie. But, perhaps due to public protest, they have reinstated it. Well done Waitrose. Well worth a visit again.

My husband and I often call here for Soup and a Roll. Although the service is usually slow, today we waited about fifteen minutes to be served even though it wasn't busy. There was only one (very pleasant) girl serving who did her best. We gave our order and then sat down to await our order. Twenty minutes later our soup arrived together with butter we had to pour onto our roll! What is going on in the kitchen? This is not what we expect from Waitrose.

Went here for a quick breakfast before me and my boyfriend had to go to work. We usually go to spoons or the cafe up the top of the high street but we thought we'd treat ourselves. Big mistake. The customer service was atrocious, making us feel like a nuisance and the only conversation we got was "here's you table number" in a disgruntled voice from the lady at the counter.Sitting at our dirty table, the drinks were brought over with not one word said by the woman. No spoon, no sugar, no directions to where they were.. and when my boyfriend eventually found them behind where you queue up (really?), my food had been thrown down, again without one word AND WITHOUT CUTLERY?! It was so obvious I didn't have any yet the man serving barely looked at me before walking away?! I understand you leave cutlery in a different place and it's not brought to you but some information maybe when I was at the till paying would been smart?!Food was overpriced and average and just wanted to leave at this point. We get better service, better atmosphere and better value for money at the wetherspoons for God sake. Will be avoiding this place, and will tell everyone else I know to as well. As an assistant manager in customer service I know it doesn't take a lot of brains to put a smile on your face and talk to people and tell them where to get cutlery.Does my nut in.Considering waitrose apparently pride themselves on great customer service, the monmouth branch have obviously failed at this. I don't expect a reply and there hasn't been any responses on TripAdvisor yet, so I'll take waitroses silence as an admittance of how bad they know this branch is..

Popped in for a few bits, car park just outside. Staff on the shop floor were great at directing me to the right aisles & assisting with wines & beers. Unfortunately the woman on the express check out was miserable, uncommunicative & ignored me when I asked several times for a "green token" for the local charity collection box. Nothing like the friendly checkout staff at my local store.

We called in here when visiting hereford for a day the place was clean and tidy and and staff were very friendly it was quite busy in there but we were able to find some where to sit easily enough as place not very big .I had a coffee A proper cappuccino where when you sit your teaspoon on top of the froth it shouldn,t sink through the froth and mine was exactly that perfect not many places serving cappuccino actually serve a real cappuccino so i was delighted to find a coffee shop that did ,my partner had a glass of milk ,we would definitely call here again

I dropped my daughter to school and decided to go for a Pecan Danish and Coffee. I had already been recommended the waitrose coffee as one of the best and it really is good coffee. If I had remembered my Waitrose Card it would be a free coffee!! I like it black with hot milk or cream. It is delicious!. The young lady that served me was so helpful, even taking the tray through for me when she saw me struggling. The mark up on the danish was 20p more than buying instore so for £3.50 you can sit with your danish abnd youre coffee and people watch the world go by on Monmouth High Street. Lovely!!

This store is general is good, stocks most things that we buy on a regular basis and the cafe is quite nice. Only downfall to the cafe is that it is quite cramped when busy and people end up being on top of each other which is a negative. The store is always tidy and has a nice range of plants outside - however on a few occasions these have been extremely dry!! Overall a great store for Monmouth to have!

I don't know why on earth the staff in here were so unfriendly but the customer service was very poor. One example was going into a cafe for a coffee after shopping. We were very rudely told by a female member of the cafe staff 'you can't eat any of that in here' while we were queing with a tray for the drinks!! There was one cake left in the cafe (early afternoon) and service was very slow. The carpark was a maze. One of the less friendly Waitrose stores.

My friend booked a table for six a good six weeks in advance, only to find on turning up there was no record of our booking. It was only by luck that as the customer foot print was low that we were able to get a table. When we asked what went wrong reference our booking, no explanation was given. This would never have happened under the previous ownership.

A solid Wetherspoons. Service was quick and efficient despite it being absolutely rammed. Tables clean and staff were very proactive in doing rounds to remove dishes and glasses that you were finished with. Generally seemed to have a lot more staff than most Wetherspoons pubs - maybe they employed more people for the busy Christmas period. Food was quickly delivered to the table and what exactly what you'd expect: no thrills and good enough for the money - especially given how cheap a decent pint of cider is here.
