Definitely a party place before an eating place! Not a bad thing, but the menu is limited (saves time on choosing though!) unless you go for the tapas option. Burrito was huge and filling, and the waiter attentive and kept the drinks flowing.

The atmosphere in this branch was great, the food is always wonderful at Wahaca! The only let down for me was the hefty service charge and the tax on the top, which I didn’t like! Anyway it is what it is… The waiter was pleasant and nice although we had to wait for him to order some stuff

Another great visit to Wahaca - delicious food and plenty of choice for people with any food allergies/preferences. The service was a bit slow at start but picked up the speed. The food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and surprisingly well priced. Will definitely go back.

Fabulous Mexican food with authentic flavours. For the record: I'm Mexican and love Wahaca's menu, variety of vegetarian options and ultimately the delicious flavours and great service. Try the horchata drink! You won't regret it

Great evening out with the kids, service was fast, food was flavourful, kids loved making their own tacos.

Food was awful, enchiladas with chewy fatty chicken and undercooked chorizo, and a salad that was brown and wilted, beer with lime that tasted sour, a Mojito that had more ice than drink at £4.50, and a grumpy waitress because we sent stuff back. I will be going to Las Iguanas in future.

Drove 40 mins to eat here just for them to tell me they don’t accept American Express. Manager wasn’t helpful in trying to find a solution as I really wanted to eat here and told me ‘it’s on the website’. It’s in the website but the FAQ page and who is really looking at the FAQ page when they’re making a booking? Just a heads up for you before you travel all the way here like I did.

Great Mexican food, amazing taste, wonderful service, great attention to details. We tried the tacos, quesadillas and burritos plus a couple of appetizers. All tasted amazing. The portions are on the small spectrum a bit but ok.

Whatever you do as restaurant, you don't let the kids wait and serve them food last... a no-brainer, right? They also try to trick you with the "optional" service charge, as only the manager can change it. We just like to tip the waiter in cash, thank you very much. The food is nice, but a bit on the greasy side. The atmosphere was nice, you can eat well with different types of company.

Our experience at Wahaca in early February proved rather disappointing. Right from the start, we felt a sense of urgency from the staff to vacate our table, despite the abundance of unoccupied tables throughout the restaurant. While the food was acceptable, my order of a vegan quesadilla, marked with a vegan flag, unexpectedly contained feta. Despite bringing this to the staff's attention, their apologies lacked subsequent follow-up or resolution. Our departure, hastened due to a scheduled show in London, was complicated by a hastily provided takeaway box containing a freshly prepared vegan quesadilla, proving inconvenient as we headed to the theatre. I insisted on its removal from the bill, yet, time constraints prevented further pursuit of the matter. Despite an email outreach that evening, no response was received from the restaurant.

One of my favourite Mexican places in London with great vibe and absolutely delicious food. Every dish is packed with flavours and one will be spoilt for choices.

In two visits to London we went there twice haha. It's very good, but be careful it's expensive. In addition, the waitress automatically includes a 20% tip. This is abuse.

The service was good, although the second time I had to ask for help. But what made it good was that now I can have the condiments/dips can be on the side. So, once I get home the takeaway is not soggy.

I have been ordering from them a lot and only have actually been there once, but the food is quite good.

We waited for 20 minutes in the queue with one waiter coming and taking people in but not staying long enough for anyone to ask how long the wait will be. When we finally got closer, he told other couples in front of us that the wait will be 1 hour and told us the same. It was already 8:30pm which means we would have been sat at 9:30pm and expected to order and leave by 10pm because that's when they close. Why not tell people you can't welcome them when you see them coming in instead of letting them join the queue in the first place?? Also people had left and there were empty tables so I'm guessing the kitchen might have been understaffed but still, no excuse to keep people in line for 20 mins for no reason. I guess that's why he didn't even bother to say hi or bring the menus to the people in the queue because he knew it would be impossible to get a table to begin with.

Disappointing food and service, especially at their kind of prices. Had better Mexican prepared by people at home. While may not be this fancy a sit-down but you'll get better food at Chipotle.

Food was great, staff were awesome, food arrived in very good time despite it being very busy, staff did let us know on entry of a slight delay in service due to the level of custom but that hardly affected our order. Can get noisy.

I visited with a group of friends. We ordered a variety of dishes and were explained food would come out when it was ready. I understand this can happen with larger groups (6 of us) however there was over 30 minutes between first and last dish being served which meant we couldn’t all eat together which ruins the experience of eating together. Food was standard, but lacking in flavour and not hot enough. Some of the food came before the drinks, it felt like staff were just throwing out whatever food/drinks they could without thinking about the customers enjoyment. The waitress was lacking in customer service skills, she was rude and disgruntled the whole evening. We never got asked if we wanted more drinks or deserts. Waitress argued with me about the bill (I was trying to pay more not less!) and got very frustrated with us so ended up paying less than I thought we should. I definitely would not recommend or return.

We were 4 people. We sat down at 6:20pm, ordered at 6:30pm and the first dishes arrived at 7:10. The guacamole and crisps which we asked as a starter as the kids were starving were brought to us at 7:15 after I complained. We only got all our food at 7:30. The kids wanted desserts and the waiter told me we would have to wait another 30 minutes easily. I get that the place was busy, but you either accept less customers or you increase the staff. This was awful. We’re never going back to Wahaca

Very expensive food. Very small portions. Most Mexican places will offer a big plate of tortilla chips and dip for free on the table while you decide what to order. This place charges you £6.50 for a tiny cup with about 5 tortilla chips in it. If you're looking to spend lots of money and leave hungry you'll love this place

Great staff. But the food is below standard. Pre Covid Wahaca was one of my favourite restaurants, the food was fresh and tasty. But what I was served today was terrible.

We were sat down stairs even though we booked way in advance. There was 1 server but she was back and forth and bless her, she was doing well but the service was so slow. It took so long to get the drinks over and the food was not sent together. The first person's food and the last person's food was a difference of 20mins. I don't really recommend

Location - Perfect, right in the heart of Oxford Street. Shop and enjoy a nice evening here. We had made a reservation an hour before to plan better. The place is clean and colorful. The pictures speak for themselves. Service: Alex waited on us and provided good guidance in case of any confusion. The menu is simple and clear. The service was quick too. A minor hiccup with the timing of Veggie Nachos but can be ignored. We had ordered Mexican Chalada, which is Beer with fresh lime juice and salt on the rim of the glass and cider. For food, we had veggie nachos salad, chicken quesadilla and sweet potato burrito with guacamole. The burrito was the best one I ever had. Strongly recommended. Will definitely visit again!!!

Really great experience at this venue for our Christmas lunch for 9 people on 14th December. Very well looked after by Alex and the food was delicious and not as traditional as other venues which was a nice change. If anything, the portion sizes could have been a little larger, but we were all very well fed by the end. The pork main was particularly good and beautifully presented.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Wahaca Great Portland Street yesterday for our company's Christmas lunch, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The level of service and professionalism displayed by the staff was absolutely appalling. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was shocked by the rude and unnecessary behavior of the floor manager. Despite having booked a large table for 16 staff members, he repeatedly approached us and asked who would be paying for the dinner. This approach was not only rude but also completely unnecessary, as we had already made arrangements for the payment. It was a clear display of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for customers. To make matters worse, we were introduced to our waitress, Flori, who displayed an extremely abrupt and unfriendly attitude. When I mispronounced her name, she corrected me in a manner that was completely uncalled for. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially during a festive occasion like a Christmas lunch. Flori's behavior was a clear indication that she lacked basic customer service skills and failed to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. When I politely mentioned to the floor manager that it would be nice if Flori could smile, his reaction was shockingly sarcastic. It was evident that he had no regard for customer feedback or the importance of providing a pleasant dining experience. His unprofessionalism only added to the overall disappointment of the lunch. I strongly advise against dining at Wahaca Great Portland Street. The lack of professionalism displayed by the floor manager and the inadequate service provided by Flori made our Christmas lunch an unsatisfactory one. It is disheartening to see such a disregard for customer satisfaction, especially when we are spending a substantial amount of money at a restaurant. I am unsure if the store manager or the corporate chain of restaurants will take any action based on this review, but it is important to highlight the significance of customer experience. A beautiful place at a wonderful location.

We have two small children and needed somewhere for lunch with no notice. We were able to grab a seat and had amazing food. Plus a fuse ball table to entertain the kids. Great food, great service!

Ordered the classic sharing dishes @ £42 and a bowl of nachos to start , the food was tasty but Luke warm which was a shame , the service was not to great , and some of the food was bordering on cold .Shame really as it could have been so much better.

Waiter got the order wrong, the sweet potato arrived cold and the chicken and avocado tacos had a bone in it which hurt my gum and it's been hurting for a few days since. I got a half handed apology saying sorry for your inconvenience when it's clearly caused me pain.

The name of this restaurant is a travesty to the Spanish language, and its food is a disgrace to its "so-called" Mexican dishes. With the UK's strict policy on bias crimes, this establishment would be found guilty on multiple charges. As for service, the staff were wonderful. If you went here for some drinks and under-salted guacamole, the staff won't let you down. They are punctual, friendly, and attentive to the status of your table's needs. Go for the drinks, tip your wait staff well, and stick to the simple things.

Great food and atmosphere here at wahaca Oxford Circus. As usual we went for a few rounds of the delicious margaritas and the set menus and then shared them across the table. Place did get fairly busy by the time we left with staff struggling with the number of tables which meant getting the bill and leaving took nearly 15 mins.

Had a reservation on a Sunday evening at 7pm. This place was packed. Ordered a few drinks and it was quick to arrive. I wanted to get the battered fish but was told they were already out of fish. I felt that should’ve been the message when seated. The orders arrive quickly until we were ready to order the dessert. Took a while for our waiter to check in on us. We asked for a bottle of water which never arrived. The kids menu has a build your own taco and it literally means that. They bring in all ingredients and the kid can build their own taco. Little messy as the point of going out is to eat in peace and not mess with the kid’s plate. I thought the idea was to order what the kid wanted in a taco and not building one yourself. Overall the food was delicious. Cauliflower bites was the hero of the day. Recommended for a night out with family.

I usually love Wahaca, it has long been the place I go to meet up with friends due to the tasty food and even tastier cocktails. However, the last couple of times I’ve been they’ve clearly been incredibly short staffed. Today I went with a group of 7 friends for a long overdue catch up. We were told when we arrived that it would be a 30 minute wait for food - reasonable for London on a Thursday night. However our food arrived slowly over a period of over 2 hours (I wish I was joking) meaning that some of the party had finished eating over an hour and half before others got their meals. Looking around, most tables were having the same issue. The staff were all fantastic, but there’s only so much you can do when you don’t have enough people to go around. It seemed that takeaway orders continued despite all the dining in customers who were still waiting for meals. Head office would do well either to increase staffing levels or think about turning delivery’s off at peak times. Situations like this evening are not sustainable, I know for one I will not be going back.

Visited here on a Saturday evening with my husband for a quick bite before an evening activity. Food was decent - small portions but filling. Staff were lovely, or so it seemed. Our waiter (I think his name was George) was really nice and smiley, attentive and seemed to add a personal touch to the service. However, after receiving the bill, his whole demeanour changed. We asked for the discretionary service charge to be removed.. At first he seemed like he didn’t understand what I was asking (language barrier perhaps?). When he finally caught on, he completely changed his attitude and his face literally dropped. He left the table briefly and returned with a new receipt which he literally - I kid you not - chucked down on the table without saying anything. We paid then he walked away - no goodbye, nothing. We even passed him again on the way out and he just walked right past without a farewell greeting or anything. The whole thing just made us feel so uncomfortable and we couldn’t wait to leave. I completely understand that the optional service charge benefits staff and will occasionally leave it if feeling generous, but as a new graduate with a baby (having a RARE date night out might I add!) I try my best to save coins where I can & shouldn’t be made to feel bad about it! You never know a person’s situation and shouldn’t get all personal and throw a tantrum just because I choose not to tip.. sorry, not sorry. Overall decent experience and food but due to that funny attitude and unprofessionalism, sadly won’t be back to this particular branch.

Such lovely friendly staff! The restaurant was pretty quiet when we went on a Sunday evening so was easy to get a table. They have a really good menu for people with allergies that clearly outlines what is in the food. Food was also really good when we went.

So noisy!!!! I don’t understand how they can bump up the music so much. I absolutely hated it. I couldn’t hear my friend and it was bit a pleasant atmosphere. Management should have their dinner there themselves and feel the LOUD atmosphere. Will never go back!

Disappointing experience. We were in the basement which lacked atmosphere in comparison to upstairs. The service was quick, but clearing the table when we finished was non existent. The food was simply average and appeared as if it had been “lying around” waiting to be served. The food was not hot. We chose not to tip and when we explained our reasons at the till, we were met with indifference. The wine was good though-and reasonably priced.

This place is fine for a group with kids. I told the waiter I was intolerant to two ingredients. He then said the restaurant would only serve me one thing from the menu. They refused to take my order so I had to get someone else to order it. And the food was staggered so far apart that it was an unpleasant dining experience.

Went in for a late lunch a week before Day of the Dead & the decorations both fun and respectful to the festival. The special menu was very appealing. Staff very accomodating to any food allergies or requirements The vampira juice and all food very fresh and tasty All staff very friendly and service is excellent! Sorry no pictures was in too much of a hurry to eat!
