Wahaca in Tower Hamlets

Food is amazing, and service has always been adequate. We visit it at least once a month regularly! The place is really noisy and has often some loud music, so don’t go there for a date.

Food always amazing, and italian playinglist in the background just gave me that wow that I was looking for.

Me and my Friend came here as a last minute plan at night but i have to say the service by Noa was amazing she recommended us the best dishes and she was extremely sweet and made the experience 10times better. The free range Chicken quesadilla and churros are delicious Definitely would recommend and come back!!!

Wahaca (based on the Mexican state and city known as Oaxaca) was a wonderful place to eat. The last place I expected to get authentic (as you can get outside of MX) was in a Canary Wharf restaurant just on the outskirts of London. Here we are and I'm thoroughly surprised and quit full of amazing food. Our server was Noa and she was as adorable as could be working non-stop ensuring we were happy. She did an incredible job, thank you Noa.

Was charged twice via the qr code payment system. Have tried contacting head office via their page but have not been contacted to resolve the matter. I'd definitely warn everyone to check their bank statements as the 1st payment via the qr said ' unsuccessful ' which was cleary false.

Family-friendly Mexican restaurant with a wide offer of Mexican street food. We went there a couple of times and tried two different set menus, both equally tasty. Loved the soft tacos with pulled pork pibil and the fish tacos. For me, the corn cake was the highlight. Nice offer of margaritas, with a few variations on the classic, including a lively spicy one. A bit loud, especially on busy days.

I celebrated my cousin's birthday at wahaca The bar was open to us upstairs in a private space so we can order The guys where very nice, helpful I forgot the name of the of tge bar guy but I know he is Brazilian from Minas Gerais If This helps lol Thanks for the amazing time

The place is really well designed makes you feel comfortable right from the start. There was a lot of selection of food provided and all the items we had were amazing! I recommend the vegan chicken tacos, its got a katsu chicken curry taste but it's vegan! Stefy was a lovely waitress and person so when you come look out for her to serve you because she will do an awesome job! 5/5 would recommend!

Service was awful, had to chase waiters down to get an order, no organisation, staff play fighting while dirty played puke up on tables. Food was average. Wouldn’t come back.

Had dinner with work and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Definitely would recommend to try as they have a good options on food and drinks. Can not fault as all the staff and waiter was fantastic checking in how we are with the drinks and food to see if anything else we want or he could recommend. Service was good and attentive however the food is a big let down. It was my first time trying Wahaca and unfortunately I won't be returning. Excuse me for the names of the dishes as I cannot rememeber them however will best reference them. For starters, me and my partner had the hummus and tortilla chips. The hummus was delicious and tasted good. However the tortilla chips were honestly disgusting. They were very hard and tasted stale. Definitely were not fresh, almost like they had been out of a sealed containers for several hours. The hardness made them inedible. We then had the black bean quesadia and zest bean tostadas. Both of which were very tasty. Please note that you only recieve 2 pieces of each tapas. I then had a sweet potato buritto and it was not nice at all. I expected more from this burrito due to the reviews however was let down by the bad taste of it. The pasta sauce tastes like it came straight out of a jar and the buritto is sickening. i did not want to cause a fuss and therefore ate it, however my body agreed with the burrito tasting bad and showed me in other ways.

Loved the food however had 2 vouchers for here which apparently were not applicable despite this being the main Wahaca, I busy & have as my favourite. Seems like I should of saved £40 & gone to tortilla which was below.

We come here often and it's always good. There's a table available even with no reservation, service is speedy and friendly and the food is delicious. They have bigger tables for families or groups and nice window views to the park for couples.

Nice busy place, with excellent food and drinks. Too noisy for my liking . Had to wait a while on the table before being served.

Excellent Menu,Ambience and Service.

Been here a number of times and compared to a lot of venues in canary wharf this place is good. It's not wow amazing good, but if you want nicely presented, delicious food and nice cocktails then go there. So many other establishments, especially in London, overcharge for mediocre food and drinks and you end up leaving disappointed and out of pocket. They have a nice selection of freshly cooked food and great cocktails at a reasonable price, you don't have to get a bank loan.

Food was completely tasteless, portions were very small for the price, drinks were nothing special either, very disappointed I wasted £54 here

I really enjoyed having dinner with friends at Wahaca. The foot was tasty taking me back to Mexico and the waiter Juan was attentive and very helpful. Recommend 100%

My partner ordered take out from here. The food is okay, is nothing special. However the service is terrible. We ordered the set menu for 2 which had a nice variety of dishes. We took it home to find one dish was missing completely and another one substituted without our knowledge. We obviously raised a complaint given we were not provided with what we had paid for. Wahaca’s response was an apology they missed the dish and hoped it did not happen again. There was no offer of any renumeration. This is the first and last time we will order from here, such poor service from a known brand. How they justify not providing a refund or voucher is beyond me.

I absolutely love Wahaca’s vegetarian Taquitos (which can be made vegan) and their tostadas! They’re delicious! I used to enjoy their cheese and bean quesadillas too until I found out that they’re cooked on the same grill as their meat quesadillas. I stopped eating them due to cross contamination issues, though I wish they can have a separate grill for vegetarian food and can make the veg quesadillas there - that would be perfect. Their horchata drink is also really nice. Not too fond of the pinacolada though as it’s hardly any drink and mostly only ice. Hope they improve this too.

Kitchen served chicken burrito with vegan flag on it, it wasnt even busy it was a quiet Sunday lunchtime. Don't see how any commercial kitchen could ever make that mistake. Half hearted apology and only offered 10% discount. If you have a potentially fatal allergy, don't come here.

Although the food is good its the tequila foursome I love.

Me and my partner came here we ordered the chicken tacos and chicken quesadillas they arrived the chicken tacos was cold I asked if they could be replaced with warm ones he came back over to the table and they were still cold as for the quesadillas I feel like they had such little filling like I was just not impressed by my visit at all and for the price that they charge for the items I was very disappointed me and my partner just ate it the second time because clearly they cannot get it right wil not be coming back here at all I would avoid this wahacca as I have been to your other stores the service the food ect... Was fantastic so just this wahacca is a no go...

The food was great! The food was really tasty and really quick, can’t fault it. The staff seemed all fairly nice and efficient as well, it was a bit odd when we first arrived that one of the staff said she didn’t know where to seat us and the manager had to do it. The atmosphere was standard for a lunch time. The only thing that let the experience down is that the coffee we ordered was luke warm and when they said they would make another (bare in mind we just asked for it warmed up) it was a good 10+ minutes before we were told they had run out of coffee. Then had to wait further for another drink. The prices are reasonable and you get a good portion size of very nice food. We enjoyed it and would still go back!

Amazing experience! Had to bring a group of 19 people for a work dinner, and the service was absolutely fantastic! Portions were quite filling, and I chose the chicken rainbow bowl (those were the best smoked beans I've had in my life) Definitely coming back! And I'd recommend the vampire juice: it's very fresh and uplifting 😋😋

Really nice and cozy place for Mexican dining! We got our table even though we didn’t have a reservation, ate really good food and drinks (Passion Fruit Margarita ❤️) and had a wonderful service being served by Juan. Highly recommend this place when you are visiting Canary Wharf!

Got takeaway from their food truck in front of the ice rink! The portions are small but great tasting, especially the free range chicken bowl! Very nice sour cream and green rice, option to double up on the protein. Friendly service and plenty options to customize. Highly recommend to visit!

We shared two set menus for 4 of us and it was all the best bits of the menu and so delicious. From the moment we walked in we were looked after, our waiter Jose and was the perfect amount of attentive and read us well. Really good buzz in the restaurant, we had a lovely time and will be back again.

Hi ordered a meal through Deliveroo from this restaurant I received an unrecognisable good that appeared to be rotten. Very simple issue to deal with but I must after over 1 hour on a live chat. With the CS basically repeating it’s ok to receive food like this with no right to replace. So I am absolutely disappointed & please be aware customer service is poor. The regard customers is not great and any old rotten food is acceptable. Great restaurant racing to the bottom good is normally simple & straightforward obvious things are changing.

I have been to Wahaca several times in London and each time I have been really impressed with the food and service. However in this occasion I wasn’t so happy with the experience. We didn’t want a proper meal just a snack and drinks to keep us going till our dinner reservation (somewhere else) later on in the evening so when we stumbled upon the restaurant we thought we’d go in and try it out. It all started well with being seated without a reservation and the atmosphere was great - there was a buzz and some people were dressed up for Halloween. Our waiter took our order and the drinks came out quite quickly. I ordered one of the special and it came out third of four dishes - my brother and his wife got theirs first. When mine came out, I thought my fiancée’s wouldn’t be far away so I tucked in. Unfortunately her meal didn’t come out and she had sat watching all of us eat while ate ours. I pointed out the fact that we were still waiting for one dish and he came back saying it was still being prepared, then I asked again after waiting a while and this time he confessed somebody else had taken our order. We were offered churros as compensation but we didn’t want anymore food as we had a meal later on. Instead we suggested not being charged for the missing order but still wanting it. I guess due to misunderstanding what we asked for the waiter cancelled our order and in turn my fiancée was slightly unhappy. In the end she got her food which was delicious but she had waited a long time for it. I can’t fault the food - it was delicious! To top it off when we went to pay we were still charged for the dish despite the poor service and the discretionary tip was left on too. I queried this and the manager took it off our bill. I will still go to Wahaca restaurants but this visit wasn’t what I expected.

Jose was so amazing and made sure me and my friends were taken care of. We came for a work trip and hadn’t been to Wahacs before and now because of him we will definitely come here every time we’re in London!

We tried the set menu for two at Wahaca, and it was a pleasant experience. The food provided great value for what we paid, and we were surprised by the generous portions. However, there was a notable hiccup during our visit. They couldn't serve us margaritas because they'd run out of tequila. Running out of a key ingredient is a slip for any restaurant, but it's particularly glaring for a Mexican place that boasts an extensive margarita menu.

Nice casual ambience, good selection of Mexican food but the food was OK.

Amazing food, ambience and service. We were served by Al and he was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful with what we should order. The food was hot, on time and if delayed, we were always kept informed. Can’t wait to return!

Terrible customer takeaway service. Nobody at front desk to speak to. And staff unwilling to be asked anything as they are busy. Had to call the restaurant while there in order to be acknowledged. Such service in this climate will not bode well.

Came here with my son on Saturday night. It’s an absolute nightmare to find the first time. But once there we were really impressed. A great atmosphere and lovely staff. We had nachos, the favourites sharing menu and dessert. All beautifully presented with amazing flavours. Will definitely return again.
