Another halal Mexican restaurant owned by asians, as usual the food does not taste Mexican, average decor & service.

after an indian food I always love to have mexican food and I feel these could be the best mexican food restaurant available in my cities,I will be certainly back,I dont wanna miss an opportunity.thankyou guys you deserve it.

Came here randomly with a friend. The food was delicious, the portions were huge and service was great.

Went there on a Saturday evening, and were very well taken car of. Food was delicious and very prompt. Staff were very attentive and asked if we needed anything. Definitely recommended, and we'll worth a visit.

Reading some of the reviews on the service at this restaurant I thought how bad can it really be so I thought I would give it a go the service was surprisingly very good the food on the other had left much to be desired. Two vegetarian dishes were ordered one burrito and one enchilada a plate of nachos to go with. The nachos tasted like they had been cooked in old oil or would just hold themselves a very curiously tasting sour cream dressing had been applied and the jalapeños tasted they had come straight out of the jar. Very mushy. The main courses for some reason had the very well-known, authentic Mexican favourite of curried cauliflower inserted into them and then garnished with curried (in an Indian style) mushy kidney beans. Having now read the other reviews I know why this place should have been avoided at all costs it does not know what it is, whatever it does, it does badly. I had the two main courses removed from the bill I only paid for the nachos because I felt very sad for the poor employees who had to ferry this rubbish out of the kitchen, and then back again as I left all of it.

I ordered chicken fajitas swith mild sauce for the third time and I received them full of cheese, which is not an ingredient. I called to ask for a replacement (not even a refund) for the right fajita and the person was so RUDE! he didn't care what I was saying, he wasn't helping me, he refused to send me the right order when it was THEIR mistake and I was going to have no dinner. He didn't speak fluent english with Bangladeshi accent and said he was the manager, and I could not speak with anyone else. Mexican restaurants with Muslim manager who doesn't speak properly and doesn't help the customers. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER AND THE FOOD IS AWFUL

The food tasted awesome and do was the service. I would recommend this restaurant to any person looking for a delicious meal!

The only saving grace to the food was the drinks, the quesadillas had so.much grease to them it was dripping off the food for the price your paying the quality is really bad, the noodles were utterly terrible, food was bland and dry the chicken almost seemed like it had a sickly slimey texture which was very off putting no seasoning added to any of the food, all in all was a terrible experience wouldn't order from here again

Food arrived late and cold and it ended up in the bin!

One of the worst that I have had. they obviously opened a bag of frozen mixed veg and microwaved it... although all of the food was cold when it arrived. Wrap was also microwaved ... cold and hard. The 'hot' sauce was mild-medium. Not buying from here again

I ordered from there and got given the wrong order, rubbish customer service!!!!! They refused to do refund also refused to deliver the correct order and refused to cooperate. Cant enjoy a place without good customer service!

I’ve never experienced a situation where I’ve developed Nausea, stomach ache and cramps WHILST eating. horrific. I felt humiliated infront of a houseful of guests bc the food and was absolutely intolerable.

first of all, they do not have any typical Mexican alcohol like tequila, mescal, but not even any type of Mexican beer, but only soft drinks ready in the bottle; as second obscenity they asked us if they could bring the next dish when we were still halfway up the appetizer, as a third obscenity after ordering a rare beef steak they brought us a thin slice of very hard cooked meat as the table and taste really disgusting; after having spoiled the mouth with this meat we thought of taking a dessert and the waiter brought us a mayonnaise with the chopped vegetables inside, so on two people who came to the table no one was able to understand English well, when we were then able to order two desserts and saw the face of the waiter clearly in difficulty he came back to say that the desserts were finished, premising that in the pictures on the menu all desserts were pre-packaged; in the end we decided logically not to pay the service charge since everything that was brought to us at the table was not similar to Mexican food or good food.

I used to come here when it newly opened years ago and the food was fab. It was always busy. However, I should have read the signs when the place was completely empty with not a single person there on a Sunday evening... gave it the benefit of doubt and sat down. The staff were not fluent in English so quite a struggle for both us and them to understand our order. We were a group of 8 but you'd think with no other customers nothing could go wrong right? Wrong! We were asked about 3 times to repeat our order to different members of staff, none of them any better at speaking English than the other. The order came correct but an extra meal was made which they miscounted.. although repeated on several occasions. The mains took ages to arrive...and part of our starters arrived 3/4 of the way through our main! To which the waiter said we'd ordered it with our main. Anyways we told them we don't want the starter now as we are nearly finished eating...another member of staff said it's ok don't worry about it (implying he won't be charging us for it) cheeky buggers put it on the bill at the end and when I pulled them up about it, they took it off my bill and increased the service charge instead! At this point extremly annoyed by the cheekyness, I refused to give them any service charge gave them the cash for my bill and left. Will never be returning to this sham of a restaurant again. stay well clear. P.s. the food was terrible! Dry, no flavour, something a child could whack up in a kitchen. Really disappointed.

From Oder to delivery it took a hour which is quite long as the food wasn’t nice either. The coleslaw they gave was equivalent to one table spoon!

The restaurant was well decorated and it was great fun wearing the Mexican hats however the food was ok but I was expecting a more Mexican twist to it and the portions were really huge.

Interesting place. Food was average, was it Mexican debatable. Looks Mexican taste Bengali Would I go there, I think not. When i made an enquiry regarding the early delivery i felt mexian grilles customer service was so awful.the man was rude and agressive also he said they dont do deliveries after 8pm .so i have challenged him why the email was sent to confirm the deluvery will be made 9pm.he couldnt answer but he was extremely rude.he could have simple apologised .manager /owner should be look into this.i have never dealt with the restaurent direct in previous occasion so i wasnt aware of the customer service .i do love the food so i did nominate the restaurent for upcoming award but after today's disgusting experiance from mexican grille staff,i have requested to withdrwn them from the award nomination.they dont deserve award..all the staff need serious customer service skills.

This is the second time we visited here. First time was quiet nice. Second time was abit dissapointed. Ordered enchiladas. Instead of giving proper tortilla wraps. They gave normal wrap which was cold and no sauce or anything on top.

The food was fantastic. Well presented in foil containers. .. which satisfies my desire for recyclable too... just change the containers for sauces and salad ☺ The nachos we amazing. .. and the guacamole. .. a little less keen on the white sauce ... it was mayinaisy and sweet. But overall really really good

I made a huge order for 13 hungry adults. every one was them happy with their food. the restaurant got the order fully right and food arrived warm too. excellent stuff. we ordered food ranging from burgers, steaks, grilled meat, sides with Mexican twist! recommend the place.

I am disgusted about the customer service, I only live a minute away from the restaurant but have received poor service. When i called in the person on the phone was being dismissive and dishonest about how much late the order would be.

Perhaps the fault was ours, to have had any sort of optimism about the quality of food in a "Mexican Grille" on a road saturated with purveyors of kebabs and halal fried chicken. As soon as we were seated, it became quickly apparent that the experience was likely going to be a disappointing one - the decidedly un-Mexican décor, the alcohol-free menu, the tinny muzak. The £5.50 guacamole 'starter' that came in a minuscule pot was devoid of any sort of flavour or texture - likely of supermarket provenance and definitely not made on the premises from actual avocados. The meagre quantity of this 'guacamole' was to be scooped up with a heap of indifferent, greasy nachos. On to the mains. In a nutshell: the tacos were appalling (stale, supermarket taco shells enveloping punishingly tough and oddly spiced pieces of what was allegedly beef), the chicken enchilladas were marginally more edible but not a whole deal better. Both were served with a limp salad (warm lettuce, cucumbers and a single tomato slice), and a bed of rice that was essentially biriyani (yes, that famous Pueblan dish). We had to leave both plates unfinished.

Food was tasty but timing from order to delivery was almost 45 minutes. Time was initially added on when the order was made and then also ended up being late for scheduled delivery time. The food was just warm by the time we ate. Don't order from here if your in a hurry to eat.

Un restaurante mexicano con una gestión de Bangladesh.

(una semana antes de la reserva) a este lugar era accesible para sillas de ruedas, dijeron que era. Sin embargo al llegar fue una historia completamente diferente - hay escalones en la entrada. No estoy seguro de por qué me mintieron, y pensé que podría escapar con dinero - claramente hambre! El chico a cargo fue inflexible (de hecho 100% seguro) mi sobrina podía llegar con su trato ofrecido ruedas varias veces e incluso intentó revertir en la era imposible! En vez de pedir perdón a nosotros para desperdiciar nuestro tiempo sostuvo que estábamos realizando su restaurante y clientes frío manteniendo la puerta abierta (así que mi sobrina podía probar y entrar). Todo lo que puedo decir es que nunca volveré a este lugar por mucho el servicio al cliente más espantoso que he visto. Yo prefiero gastar mi dinero en otra parte.

Promedio y no disfrutar de carne las patatas fritas mucho por desgracia. El ambiente no era muy representativa de la cultura mexicana, excepto un solo funcionario usando un sombrero. Además, la música no parece ser de la cultura mexicana. Simplemente una experiencia mediocre - ojalá me hubiera dicho mejor.

I can say genuinely say that the quality of food here was AMAZING! We really enjoyed ourselves and we were treated with dignity and respect during our visit in December 2016. Definitely recommend, nothing more to say!!!

We found this restaurant on taste card and decided to give it a try as it's somewhere new and different. I don't regret this decision but I wouldn't go back. I don't know where the owners are from, but I think their understanding of genuine Mexican food is limited. The food served wasn't bad, but it was not Mexican. It wasn't even English Mexican which you can find anywhere, even pubs. The service was slow, we had to wait an hour for our food (quesadillas which should take maximum 10 minutes to make) Once I reminded them of our food, it arrived less than five minutes later. During our wait, 18 Deliveroo/Uber drivers came and went, which were clearly a priority over dining staff, which is disappointing. I asked for guacamole which is the most simple dish to make. What I received was watery avocado with middle eastern spices. I was charged £2.50 for this 5cm dish, which is the price of 3 dips on the menu. I found this rather cheeky, but as the meal was 50% off, I didn't want to make a fuss. 15% service charge is also added onto meals. I believe service charge is not usually compulsory, but apparently this was.

Well what can I say the decor of this place is nice, but the attitude of the staff is very poor. The food is average! We bought a groupon deal, only to find out when we booked that we have to pay the service charge! Why would you want to pay for the service when it was not so good? Ah well, not going to see me there again!

We ordered the food through Deliveroo and it came 1 hour late.The order was wrong cause we didn't receive the chilli fries we ordered.The burrito came with rice and beans by the side, not INSIDE it!!!!The steak chips were cold and the food in general was not that tasty as it looked like in the images.We called the restaurant to complain about the missing chips and they were super rude and didn't even care about what we had to say.This was just the cherry on the top that convinced me that this restaurant doesn't worth it at all!Don't spend your money here (it's not even that cheap!!) cause you are going to be truly disappointed.

After a friend found this place online we were very pleased they use tastecard. However quite disappointed with the decor and food. We were greeted by a waitress who seemed very disinterested and was very quiet when serving. We were seated at a booth. The lights were cool but the tables and seats needed renewing. I didn't mind the fact that the music wasn't Mexican but it was quite low volume. Coming to the food, I ordered the quesidila and my friend a mexi Taco and chilli fries. We were given complementary chups with a sour cream dip. This was a nice gesture.From the menu I thought the food was going to taste very good or at least decent. Unlike my friend I didn't read reviews of this place in hindsight I should've.The food didn't take that long to arrive (10-15 mins) but I did notice straight away how old the beef and chicken fillings looked in my friends tacos. My quesidila was a good temperature and lots of cheese but the beef filling to me tasted like bengali curry not very mexican. I wasn't too fond of the rice that came along nor the salad which did look fresh. My friends tacos were very hard and the fillings weren't that nice, again tasted like curry. I think the biggest disappointment was the chilli fries. I've had this elsewhere and thought it would have a good amount of beef, chilli and colour. It was covered in melted cheese which covered how unappetising it looked. Didn't taste the best either.I really think the restaurant should rebrand and select a different theme instead of Mexican.One of the waitresses was really nice she understood us and did come round to ask if we wanted anything else whilst the other, kept hovering around our table which was awkward to say the least.I wasn't happy about the compulsory service charge but we did use tastecard. Before we left they did provide us which complementary sweets.I wouldn't go again.

Delivery was late. I called to check and he "forgot about my order" and tried to blame me for not using uber eats. BEWARE - they send uber eats drivers to deliver orders - they don't have their own drivers. I won't bother next time and urge you not to order here!!

We had a burrito and a chimichanga, requested them hot rather than mild but either way there was no spice in either, only in the small pot of salsa that accompanied them. Also, do not order the guacamole - £5.50 for the smallest pot of yogurty dip imaginable!

Burger was hard like rock and tasteless. It would be a torture to even feed animals that kind of food i will not even eat for free.

The delivery of the food took more than the 45 minutes they stated as it was supposed to be delivered at 8.10 but was delivered 8.45. This is totally unacceptable as they did not update to let me know and I had to call JustEat to find out what was happening with my order. When I called JustEat they called the restaurant and blamed the restaurant for the delay however when I called the restaurant they blamed JustEat. The food was very cold when I eventually received the order.

The food was very average, in fact on the greasy side, so was the milkshake. However, service was really good, our waitress looked after us, shame about the food. On the pricey side for what you get. Won't be going back.

This place came up on a taste card offer so we thought we'd give it a try although we'd seen some of the other reviews. We weren't sure what to expect as the place was pretty empty at 6.30 on a Saturday. The staff seemed friendly and we were served promptly. There were 6 of us and between us, we tried the mex grill, enchilada, chimichanga and a couple of childrens meals. We all enjoyed our meals and not sure why they've been getting such negative reviews. The atmosphere in the restaurant could do with a bit more livening up - a couple of members of staff were at the back on their phones and seemed really disinterested! The music was pretty quiet and sounded more oriental then Mexican hah we would definitely go back as they have a wide selection of options on the menu

The restaurant itself looks tired and needs refreshing.Most of the staff were nice however two members struggled with English.The starters were a let down and I kept thinking of all the many negative reviews for this place and told myself why am I doing this to us. Anyway main followed and this was an improvement!The cheese fries and nachos were bad but we do much better at home.We ordered the Mex-Mix sharing platter. Not too keen on chicken but the chipotle wings and whole cajun chicken was the best part of the whole meal, they were tender, juicy and flavoursome. The beef strips were dry and tough however the fajta chops had good flavour but also dry and tough. Corn ok but were lukewarm. Chips fine but rice not good.When I called to make a reservation and mentioned I had a Gourmet Society card that I'll like to use, the staff member told me a 15% service charge will be applied however no limit on party size. On a previous occasion I made an enquire and they said 12.5% service charge and max party of 4 which meant two different terms.Had our meal, asked for the bill and when it came it looked incorrect and I worked out the service charge to be 24.65% which is too much.

Hour and a half late through Uber Eats. My fish tacos were made of pink fish - maybe trout? salmon? tuna? And smelt like cat food. Didn't eat them. Rice was microwaved. Tortilla chips were not made of tortillas and soaked in oil. Dips would be more at home in an Indian takeaway - tasted like red chutney and cucumber raita. Chips microwaved and soggy.

My family and I went for a birthday celebration. We purchased some vouchers off Groupon and thought we couldn't go wrong. How wrong were we? The service is ridiculous, the salmon my brother received was so tough and dry we weren't actually sure if it was fish. When he explained he was unhappy he was told that "the chef had been cooking it like that for years and that's how it was supposed to be" and was offered an alternative dish as they couldn't guarantee the replacement dish would not be the same. To be fair the food wasn't bland but it definitely was not cooked to a decent standard. The beef my partner and Mum had in their Fajita combo was as tough as boot leather and the chicken wasn't succulent.The staff were regularly bickering and arguing with each other which was quite amusing but highly unprofessional.To top the night off, I had bought a luxurious cake for my partners birthday which I had given to the owners upon arrival. As we didn't finish it we had asked for the box to pack back up the cake. When the box arrived we were shocked. It was so badly battered I can only assume the staff had mistaken it for some kind of Pinata. They had torn the box to shreds.Worst service I have ever experienced, be warned when looking to go here!!

We ordered steak the 2 of us that went. Burnt and hour late. When it came we said it's burnt. No apology just the statement 'that's how we make it. Like whatever. Then they asked if we wanted it take away as we didn't touch it. The cheek. Won't return and certainly don't recommend. £40 for 2. If the food was decent Yeah cheap. But no thanks mate.

We visited here because it was recommended by Gourmet Society - Oh My Goodness!! Never, EVER, again!It took them over an hour to bring food to our table and when it came, it tasted nothing like Mexican food at all, It was flavourless and chicken was not fresh and tender. One of my friend had to wait for his food till the end and it finally arrived when everyone else finished theirs. Customer Service, There is no such thing in their dictionary. A huge let down, I will not go there EVER again in my life.

Terrible service. Asked a waiter to take our order at which point he walked away from us without saying a word and spoke to a fellow waitress about 2metres from our table, and pointed at us. She came over to take our order.Food took nearly an hour.Asked twice for our drinks.The whole time delivery drivers were coming in and out collecting bags and bags of food.Tried to use a discount card that would give us 50% off. I love the food from this place, first time i tried it with a group of friends thought i would return. Then I recommended a friend and went them. The service was soo bad, I was soo embarrassed. The waiters are so useless, you have to get the manager for everything. So i stopped going. I ordered the other day for takeaway and I called and they were so useless i was soo angry i ordered with them again. Such a shame as the food is good. But they have no customer service skills.

The burritos didn't look like burritos. I asked for the chicken one to be as mild as possible and it was still very spicy, not even the nice kind of spicy. Some horrible cheese was mushsd on top of the burrito. The rice, sour cream and beans were not even in the burrito. Not to talk about the milk shakes that were not even close to ice cream or anything that you could actually eat or drink. We had one sip of them and had to throw away the rest. It took about an hour more than we were told to receive this terrible meal on top of all other disappointments. Do not recommand.

We purchased a groupon voucher - we found that the meat was of poor quality. Presentation was good. We requested to take away what we hadn't eaten and was told that as we had a groupon voucher we couldn't do that??? Wish we had of gone to nandos across the road! We will not be going back.

I originally saw Mexican Grille in Stepney on Groupon and thought it looks cheap and cheerful and it's very local to us. Sadly, not always the best policy. I called the restaurant before booking Groupon to check availability and I was told not to bother booking via Groupon, just come in and they will give me the same price as what Groupon was offering. Great, so confirmed my table booking. The restaurant looks ok for the outside, but inside was very tired looking and not very 'Mexican', apart from the inflatable Sombrero hanging from the ceiling. It wasn't very busy, so we were able to pick our table/booth. Its a halal restaurant and serves the local community very well, allowing families to take prays in private (screens were provided for privacy). The tables and chairs were a mismatch. The decor could do with updating, something a bit more colourful and vibrant, could make a massive difference. We sat in a booth, which was quite cosy and private. The table however was sticky and had crumbs in the grooves of the wooden table. The Groupon deal was 2 courses for two people for £15.00. For my starter I had the calamari rings (very moist and tasty) and my husband has the chipolate chicken wings, again very tasty. My main was the Tex Mex salmon with steak chips and my husband had a t-bone steak, chips and spicy rice. steak was over cooked which was shame as for £14.00 it was a very good size. My salmon was actually quite nice. Big portion so took the rest home. Our accompaniments arrived 5 mins before we finished. As its a halal restaurant alcohol is not served but they do serve 'mocktails'. We waited almost 15mins for ours to arrive. The strawberry Mojita was very nice, however my mango 'concoction' wasn't very good. It was too think and gluppy. Overall the service was a bit slow. The starters and chips and my salmon was the best part of the meal. Not sure I'll be going back again. Sorry.

Meat was very very dry probably re cooked from previously being cooked or either cooked way before being sold

Bought a voucher on Groupon which equates to the meal being half price, everything was hot and tasty with good portions. Waiters really friendly, it was quiet while we were there (6pm) maybe more atmosphere when busier. I had chicken quesilladas and my friend had beef enchiladas, we both enjoyed our meals. We would go again!
