Always guaranteed to feel welcome here! We go weekly for the quiz, and they also do a great Sunday roast with great Veggie options. David and his team are wonderful and nothing is ever too much trouble!

I popped in again however brought my 2 Cavaliers with me… David loved them as does anyone that meets them… so I was a tad hungry and couldn’t make up My mind what to have so David suggested “try the steak it’s really good and good value” … who could refuse an offer so ordered the Steak… I like mine medium as don’t really like the Blood (which isn’t actually blood it’s Myoglobin) … The Steak was cooked to perfection… pink but not “blooded” tender and delicious Cheers David for the suggestion, my wife’s due up soon too but we work funny hours between us Our Cavaliers will be back too Cheers

After traveling for most of the day and staying at the travelodge next door. This was a very welcome sight. We were hungry, needed a drink and a rest. We booked a table on line which was way to do and when we arrived we found it wasn’t too busy. We were told to find anywhere to sit and we ordered our food online. This was easy to do and for us it was perfect. Our food arrived and it was delicious. We were really happy with the service.

Dropped in for a quick pint and do a little work on my laptop however the food looked enticing and David the Manager pointed out the “Daily Deals”… well that was it… I wasn’t in for lunch but now I am… Loved my Burger and although fairly quiet David ensured there was an atmosphere being involved with customers as they came in or left We will be back another day soon Cheers 🍻

Overall we had a lovely time, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was generally very nice, although one of our party had the large roast turkey which he felt wasn't as hot as it could be.

All the staff were friendly and ordering was extremely easy as you can just scan a QR and order it all to your table without having to stand up! Food didn’t take long to come out and was cooked well, Cody cooked my steak to perfection!

The staff here are incredible. Floyd in particular is so welcoming and lovely. Checked on us a few times to make sure everything was fine, cleared our table quickly and ensured we had everything we needed. Will be visiting again!

Came here for Sunday lunch firstly we ordered drinks got given pints of watery Pepsi had to send back then waited another 10 mins for fresh ones. Ordered starters they were ok then had mains roast beef dinners freezing cold and have never tasted beef so awful will not be returning

Went for Sunday lunch the pepsi was not in a pepsi glass the glass were dirty and not cleaned properly we were waiting for are food for an hour and when you roasts dinner came out they were cold and the beef did not taste like beef the coke was flat and most of all BAD SERVICE

Most of the food is reasonable. What we had was OK. Perplexed at why no breakfast type (All day breakfast). Coffee reasonable and well priced these days at £2.60 for Americano. Whole experience was ruined for me when looking at the bill, was charged £3.80 for large lemonade ( just bog standard clear lemonade) this is nothing short of extortionate!

Nice pub, well set up good set of food choices and beers. We opted for the baguette which was unfortunately a poor choice. I’m pretty sure that they were pre baked type and all were not cooked though so pretty soggy and doughy. Other dishes looked pretty good but I wouldn’t go did the baguettes again. Staff were very friendly.

This restaurant is always a great place to visit. As it's next door to the hotel it's a quick walk across the carpark. The town is small but a nice walk all the less. If your looking more you will need to drive out. All in all a nice location

The Wagtail in Wincanton has been a spot my partner and I frequent every other month or so and if I'm honest it has been a hit and miss experience previously regards the quality of food. However on this trip all thumbs up! I think there has been a menu review with possibly a new structure and it caters for your regular pub goers well, we arrived for 12 pm and the place filled up in trickles pretty quickly. First time in quite a while that I had the roast (turkey) and pleasantly surprised with portion and plating, big success for me was the Yorkshire pudding which was lovely and light. Meat was generous and moist, gravy not a vast quantity but delicious and the veg really good indeed. My partner had the Hunter Chicken which came with chips and was perfectly happy. Staff were friendly and attentive, so two content customers who will be back soon. Cheers

Staying at the travelodge I was scared to come here as I read all bad reviews, glad I did come as for past two nights I’ve had the best food, nice an hot and plentiful, cocktails are nice and strong, wait time for food is ok, staff very friendly and nice an warm an cozy inside, can’t work out why bad reviews as next time I’m down this way I shall definitely come back here, just wish they done breakfast here, keep up good work and thank you for lovely food and strong cocktails

Congratulations to Craig and his team for their excellent service. Initially, we only intended to stop by the Wagtail for a drink. However, after speaking with Craig, he persuaded us to try their food and cocktails. As a result of our positive experience, we look forward to returning to the Wagtail in the future.

We had a wonderful experience at the Wagtail with Craig's return evident through his friendly reception at the entrance and excellent attention at our table. We definitely plan on returning.

Been here a fair few times and the most recent visit was by far the worst I had a very polite young waitress who brought out our food and took away our empty plates food was delicious the reason why I am giving a low score is due to the female manager who I have seen a few times on my visits here over the past month made our waitress feel uncomfortable after removing our empty plates off the end of our table even tho a couple of our party was still eating I was not worried that she took our plates as we put them there to be removed even tho not all of us was finished the manager needs to learn people skills and how to talk to staff correctly and act more professionally our party will no longer eat here even tho the pub could be a huge success with the right person running it the current female manager has not given off any pleasant vibes on any recent visits we never see her move off the bar and interact or ask customers how their meals are when will Marston learn that friendliness is what brings customers in not rude people who don’t even respect their staff let alone the customers

We had an excellent meal here last night. No waiting times crystal and Craig were very attentive and professional. Would highly recommend the burgers. Will definitely be going back

We had a great lunch on New Year's Day, which brightened up a rainy day. We had steak and ale pie and leek, potato and cheese pie. Both were delicious and piping hot. Service was excellent. Atmosphere warm and welcoming.
