Been here before some while ago so thought I would treat my partner to Sunday lunch big mistake felt invisible to the staff who became even more unprofessional when we asked to move we were sitting in the window which was freezing restaurant wasn’t busy but lady hugged and puffed as though it was all too much trouble. We had to ask to order drinks then over looked when it came to food. Such a disappointment ending a good weekend on a bad note.

Absolutely amazing pub, the food is excellent and the portions are generous. The carvery is perfectly cooked, with a huge variety of meats and vegetable dishes to choose from. Decent selection of deserts, the Red Velvet Cheesecake was perfectly prepared. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough to make our visit feel special. Great selection of wines, the pinot was lovely as was the ales on tap. Will be coming back many times in the future.

This has always been a real favourite of mine until recently. Average food 4/10 Prices to high for pub grub Such a shame as it used to be so great but sadly the food and the choice has deteriorated. Chips Chips more Chips ! Haddock Fish Cakes with Potatoes? , more Potatoes Haddock was on the menu 3 times Haddock & Chips Haddock Fish Cakes Haddock I know Haddock is the cheaper of the fish to purchase but does it have to be Haddock 😂

Food lovely - had a great burger with a very tasty salad although you could have chips instead. Very friendly bar staff although quite busy they took time to make sure everything was OK. Greatly enjoyed my visit to this pub.

We wanted some lunch before we headed back to London (given the road works a long journey) and after we had walked the dog for an hour, so stopped at Wagon & Horses. When we got there we realised we had actually been before and liked it then so hoped would again….. And we did The serving team are efficient and helpful also friendly, a winning combination, we ordered baked potato (me) and tuna sandwich (my partner) it was tasty and nice but the potato had little cheese and tasted microwaved, the tuna sandwich would have been improved with a little red onion in it. Other than that it was pleasant to sit, relax and enjoy a nice lunch.

We had a great evening meal here. The restaurant was very busy and we were warned that we may need to wait for our food, however it was served in a totally reasonable time. It was delicious and our party all left full and happy. A huge plus was the open fire that kept us lovely and warm. Lovely team that served us. We will definitely go there again.

We chose the Wagon and Horses as a mid point destination to meet friends. It was about 2hrs 15 minutes for both parties. We prebooked because of the distance and opted for seats inside. There is seating outside on 2 levels. The lower level is fully covered from above The food was well prepared and served. We opted for the smaller portions and were glad we did! The full size person's require a big appetite. There is a car park signed taking you to the rear of the premises. If this is full there is parking directly across the road There is a good choice of beers and lagers but can't comment on the wine though my wife did have the pino gringo and enjoyed it, Very Covid aware with adequate hand sanitisers and masked staff ( as required at time of our visit) My only complaint is that my chair seat had a serious hollow making it uncomfortable, but noone ele had this issue.

A lovely pub with nice decor, very dog friendly and excellent food. We had the Italian meat board followed by burger & salmon tagliatelle which was all delicious. Slightly pricey, but reasonable in terms of quality, you get what you pay for. The Cabernet Sauvignon they had on the menu was one of the best I’ve tasted too. Can’t wait to go back. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends.

We dined here on a Monday evening with a couple of friends. We are given a warm welcome and escorted to a table. Our drinks arrived promptly and our food order had been taken. Two of us had the fish and chips which were beautiful and others had the liver and bacon special and the burger. All dishes were lovely and were eaten up fairly sharpish. For puddings we had two chocolate fondants and a sticky toffee. The fondants were unfortunately over cooked as no chocolate had oozed out. But overall perfect evening ! Will return to try the rest of their menu.

Sunday lunchtime and very very busy and I hadn't booked.... but I was made welcome and I read the Sunday Times and drank a fine pint for a while and before long a table was available and I lunched very well. Tourists were happily Sunday lunching before trotting off to tick off the nearby stone thingys. I enjoyed my lunch and my pint and my paper. Service was attentive and friendly. I'd like to return perhaps one quieter winter evening.

I visited this pub recently for Sunday lunch. I hadn't booked but popped in on the off chance that they might be able to accommodate us. I must admit the welcome we received was not exactly warm and we were left standing at the bar for what seemed like an eternity while 2 staff members discussed whether we could stay! They were later joined by another 2 staff members and after a lot of head shaking and worried looks the "committee" decided that we could stay and we were led to our table (passing several empty tables on the way). Aware that this was probably going to be a busy period for the pub we chose quickly from the menu and were ready to place our order. Unfortunately, it seemed that the staff didn't share the same enthusiasm to take our order and completely ignored our attempts to get their attention, to the point that we thought we must be invisible! When one waitress did approach our table we thought our prayers were answered until she side stepped our table and began to lay up another table adjacent to ours. She didn't get away though and we finally trapped her and managed to place our order...at last! I have to say that when the food arrived (roasts) it was excellent. Well cooked and decent portion sizes. My attempt to order another drink succeeded only after another bout of "catch us if you can" with the waitresses. However, my drink never arrived and after several attempts to chase it up I cancelled it. The puddings, like the main courses, were excellent but when we overheard another table asking if they could have the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream instead of the chocolate ice cream (both are on the menu) and the waitress replying "I'll check" we finally knew that this was Fawlty Towers in disguise! The last insult was when I asked for the bill and found that I had been charged for the drink that never arrived, not only that but also an extra drink that we hadn't even ordered!! I paid but didn't leave a tip and explained why. I don't think I will be returning which is a shame as the food was good, but the service?.....Oh dear!!

Dropped in to eat but they were busy so couldn't have been served our food, had we ordered for over an hour. Mealsa saw being delivered looked good though. However we had a nice pint in there. Old pub this one, presumably an old coaching inn, it was nice & atmospheric.

We've driven passed this pub on so many occasions but always at wrong time of day. But today we managed to stop for an evening meal. We was met by a very friendly waitress called Harriet who must made us feel very welcome. The menu was varied and a good choice on the specials menu too. We defiantly will make a return visit to this bar & restaurant. Thank you Rose and Harriet

Walked in at 2pm hoping for a drink and light snack. Met with frosty waitress who asked if we planned to eat. When I answered possibly, she abruptly replied they were full and walked off. I accept they may have been full but a courteous reply and an offer to stay for a drink would have been welcome. Common courtesy lacking and for that I cannot recommend

What a wonderful surprise, a birthday amily meal at this fabulous pub/restaurant. The service was excellent attentive and polite but in a discreet way. The food, could not fault any of it. A very good range of starters but not to many as to make it difficult to choose. Beetroot and goats cheese highly recommended. The mains we even better if that is possible. Well done to all concerned. Decor is interesting and definitely a talking point. Not sure of the stuffed bear though. Would love to go back soon to have the set menu.

We visited with family from France with dog who were looking forward to visiting for coffee and a light snack for lunch,we arrived on a dry bright Sunday lunch, although relatively busy, there were several tables empty, albeit full of dirty leftovers, when we pointed this out to the lovely girl behind d counter she promptly cleared table and wiped, from this point expectations fell away quickly, there was absolutely nothing to eat except carrot cake or muffins fresh or pre packed biscuits and flapjack ! We mentioned this to the counter staff who just said sorry were short staffed and low on food, there were 8 members of staff behind the counter ! Oh well, we ordered coffee which hit the spot first round fine, second round incorrect, then members of our party wished to visit the loo before leaving, a queue of several people waiting constantly to use 1 toilet that was disgustingly dirty from top to bottom ! All in all a poor experience of what some 18 months ago was a lovely place to visit, maybe it was just an Off day, but to have that many staff not doing a lot or cared a lot, not sure I would be in a hurry to revisit

I could not sit upstairs with my hot choco the lady rudely told me I could not eat upstairs, making me nervous I then went downstairs and got pushed out the way by more angry staff when I tucked into my greasy grub it was all cold and sloppy a mirror of the staff who work there. Furthermore, the prices are ridiculous I have never seen small business charge so much on supermarket quality rubbish. Won't go again.
