Haven’t been to a Wagamama in quite a while, so it was interesting to experience the new menu, which had many tempting dishes. Service was very quick and the staff very friendly - did feel slightly guilty as we didn’t we were the last to leave and had been talking for ages… Great food that was reasonably priced - absolutely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

STAFF: The staff here are always incredibly friendly and attentive. They’re efficient and never have I felt uncomfortable or nervous talking to them. They’re helpful and are happy to engage with customers and they help aid the already lovely atmosphere. FOOD: The food here is great! Always warm - my orders have never been mixed up and the menu’s are always up to date with all the newest additions. I haven’t tried everything on the menu but the foods I have had: Bao Buns, Katsu curry, noodles, kokopanko chicken, squid etc.. are all amazing. Portions are pretty hefty but I’d rather have more than less and you get a nice lil container if you want to takeaway food you weren’t able to finish. Great veggie options but you need to like the cuisine. ATMOSPHERE: the restaurant is quite small but I’ve never felt the need to book a reservation. I’ve always managed to get a seat (with friends) even during busy shifts. Despite the place being small the ambiance makes up for it and somehow talking & loud noises don’t seem to travel all that much. As it’s a Wagamama’s they have their signature long benches and there aren’t a lot of spaces for very intimate spots - always shared tables. But they have a couple of grouped family tables in the corners. PARKING/LOCATION: I’ve never come here by car and while I do know that Richmond has plenty of car parks dotted around I’d tell you to be prepared for a pretty lengthy walk. I wouldn’t mind as the scenery in this specific part of Richmond is really nice but if you’re not into that you might be better off choosing another spot. It’s a long walk from the train station as well. The restaurant is situated smack bang in the middle of the highstreet opposite a Waterstones and near some shops that are very close to the green - incredibly scenic. Also a minute walk from a pub.

After a lovely afternoon spent by The Thames in Richmond, we were ready for an unplanned visit to Wagamama's. It was officially the hottest day of the year, so you can imagine our relief when we stepped into the wonderfully chilled, air-conditioned restaurant, pure bliss! The place was buzzing, but we still got a table straight away. The food was absolutely delicious. The whole experience was perfect. Our server was Denisa, who deserves a special 'thank you', and a huge shout out to @DENISAwagamama great service! I hope she gets to see this x

I might have given one star but their generous gesture has changed my mind. Food is undoubtedly amazing one must go. My order got delayed due to some issues within their team (maybe mismanagement) but when they served it honestly it was worth the wait. But to make it up to me as order was delayed they offered us a complimentary dessert which was again delightful. I appreciate they handled it professionally. Thank you! Gonna visit again 😃

My family and I have frequented this restaurant many times. Wagamama offers the finest dishes, and I am always delighted by the experience. My regular choice is Teriyaki Soba, sometimes paired with salmon and other times with steak. The Chicken Yakitori and Chilli Squid also make for excellent Starters. The waitress who work there are all exceptionally kind and attentive.

Sadly my experience was disappointing. For context, this used to be one of my favourite chains but coming back for the first time in a while, I was surprised by the staggering drop in the quality of the dishes. However, our server Amelie was wonderful and attentive and I couldn't fault her which is what saved my review from 1 stars, although I have outlined below some issues with the service that we did have. For a side we ordered the crispy chilli mushrooms, which were bland and the dipping sauce was uninspired and lacking in any kind of depth. The main problem for me, however, was that the majority of the dish was just batter scraps from the deep fryer, not actual mushrooms. When I say this was the majority of the dish, this is no exaggeration, this made up the bigger proportion of the dish. Whilst batter scraps could be argued by some to be enjoyable, it certainly made the dish feel cheap and unrefined. I just wish there had been larger chunks of the actual oyster mushrooms as this is what I actually ordered and what I was interested in. For my main I had the tantanmen beef brisket ramen which has the slightly higher pricepoint of £17. Again, the broth was lacking in flavour, but - even worse - the noodles themselves were stodgy and starchy. As someone who is passionate about ramen, this dish was a travesty, and I would pick Shin Ramen cup noodles any day of what Wagamama served to me this evening. Moreover, the half egg garnished on the top was cold and seemed like it had just come out a fridge without being warmed. This is such a pet-peeve of mine, and a very easy thing to get right. Similarly, the dish wasn't served piping hot and was slightly too cool for my liking. The beef was okay, though again bland, and I also felt that the amount of ingredients in the actual dish didn't really justify the price. I really regret not sending this dish back in hindsight, but I was just ravenously hungry and had been waiting a while for it and just in the moment couldn't be bothered. The three people who I was with, whilst I can't speak first-hand about their food, they all echoed the sentiment that their food was bland and disappointing. Perhaps the worst aspect of our experience was the large gaps between each person's main being served to them. I understand that this is how Wagamama operates and I would be willing to embrace this aspect if it wasn't taken too far. Though we ordered at the same time, I'd totally finished my main before my friend had received hers which just showcases how extreme this service style can be. This really disrupted our experience as dining out should be a shared experience of good food. It becomes very awkward for everyone dining if some have their food, whilst others are waiting long periods of time. In our case it was far too long. Sadly, I think Wagamama is well past its prime, and what once was a really enjoyable, high-quality restaurant may have become overpriced and may have lost control of the quality of the food. In fairness, our server was lovely, and the branding/space/and menus were all great, but following my experience here this evening, I am very unlikely to return to a Wagamama again.

Really bad service!! I am vegan and ordered a vegan ramen but was sent a ramen with pork and egg in it! I put a piece of pork in my mouth thinking it was tofu and felt so sick. When I called the restaurant there was no attempt made to resolve the issue. In fact they told me they had realised their mistake after deliveroo collected the order, but made no attempt to correct my order! I was simply told to take it up with deliveroo. I’m going to bed hungry now thanks to this appalling service!

Sorry to say, this is my worst service experience across any wagamama over 10+ yrs , having dined across CW, Wimbledon, South Bank, Tower Hill and many more. We ordered via Deliveroo and requested to make slight adjustment to the delivery (which is legally allowed via Deliveroo and they request us to call the restaurant and request the customisation) but the supervisor was very unaccommodating and when asked why he said legally not allowed by Deliveroo - so I checked with deliveroo who confirmed that it’s wrong to say that as Deliveroo has a page on this which I am attaching here for customisation. I called back the supervisor to inform and for which he said ok then it’s a wagamama decision so i will not allow as in 3.5 yrs I have not done like this. It’s a shame that wagamama is loosing a loyal customer. This is an example of how not to behave with a customer. (As a responsible citizen, I am not naming the person here - but if Wagamama wants to reach out to me , I can give out the name of the person who was very customer unfriendly)

This brand is everywhere, so when you walk in one of them, you know what food to expect and what the standard going to be like, as a bonus the decor might be to your liking, but still sitting at long tables and benches, back to school you might say. The difference in all of them is the service and the staff attending to you. The staff at this branch were very helpful and genuinely pleasant doing their job and that was refreshing. Disfruta.

I had a shirodashi ramen at Wagamama richmond today. I paid £15.50. I am angry, prices in this chain has rise over the years, fine given vat, price inflation etc but quality has not been sustained. It is a rip off. It was sad day and reflective of rest the U.K. - corrupt and greedy. Presentation: The ramen came in a huge bowl with huge portion of noodles and soup. Noodles were so soft with no semblance of ramen noodles that usually a little al dente. Soup tasted like those made from a stock cube The few pieces of belly pork was poorly barbecued. The only thing right about it was it’s 1/2 boiled egg. While this not the first time this has happened, I have continued to visit Wagamama hoping it is one off but no. Rather sad because I used to visit it often and really enjoyed the food. Not going to Wagamama again and hope others will follow suit. Time we stood up to the RIP-OFF.

I went for a casual dinner at one of my favourite Japanese estaurants. I’ve had Wag’s more times than you can imagine. This is the first time I’ve gone to the Richmond branch, and it was a good experience. The food was good; we had the Chicken Hot Pot, Wok Greens, Tama Squid, Kare Burosu, Prawn Kushiyaki and two green teas. I believe our waiter was new, as we had a couple of questions about allergies as wanted to try something different and he seemed a little unsure, but he did go and seek advice from his colleague. We all have to start somewhere! He, however, forgot to tell us, “Your food will arrive at different times,” which I know is a standard line for the Wag’s team to inform their customers. The service itself was a little slow, as the food came out very slowly, but the green teas came last after having to ask for them towards the end of the meal.

Very disappointed with Wagamama Richmond. The delivery time kept updating and was delivered very late in the end. On top of that, the food was of.very poor standard. The mini yasai chahan was half the portion size than usual. It was a joke. It was hardly enough for my 3 year old who is not really a big eater. The firecracker curry was very dry, there was very little sauce. It was not pleasant to eat rice and dry tofu. I had also requested for cutlery but cutlery was not included. For a restaurant that charges more than other good restaurants, it was totally not worth it. Btw this is not the first time this has happened. Thought things would be better this year but it has only become worse.

This is the most disappointing experience I’ve had at my favorite chain restaurant. My baos were half warm half cold and overall everything seemed like micro food reheated not made fresh which is the impression I get at other locations. I didn’t complain because I was in good company and didn’t want to spoil our time out but I won’t go back to this one. Putney, Canterbury, Wimbledon are favorites but Richmond Hill needs a reset to really represent bowl to soul sincerely. Hopefully they will!

Food was incredibly bland. The chicken ramen had a broth that tasted barely different to hot water. The tastiest thing on the menu were the Yakitori, and only because of the sauce the little skewers were dunked in. To top it off it took us 5-10 minutes of waiters just walking passed, as we took turns raising our hands, to just give us a bill. The first waiter literally just pointed to a QR code and said "you can pay online" and walked off. My mate had to get up to get someones attention and they gave us a proper bill without issue at all. The food is NOT Japanese. It genuinely gives the impression that someone saw pictures and vague descriptions of Japanese food, and did the bare minimum to achieve resemblance. Huge disappointment. On top of this a starter, main, and drink (nothing else) came to over £30 (per person). This is the price range for MUCH nicer, actually authentic Japanese restaurants - this experience was worth perhaps a quarter of this. Not an exaggeration, the food is that bland and flavourless.

Huge wagamama fan. Dining with them for decades... went to the soft opening of many of them (including this one)... used to be a mystery diner for head office... was asked to become a GM years ago. As I say. Huge fan. But this visit was a joke. No menus brought over, then asked what we'd like to order - thankfully we knew without. Took 15mins to get a glass of water. Food was slower than usual. Napkins weren't replenished. No extra drinks offered til we were 95% finished eating. No "how is everything". And at the end - with 2 totally empty plates - "are we all finished?". Always a stupid question when plates are totally clear. And the "we" is only ever annoying. Seriously unimpressed.

Well…. where do I begin? First of all, there were 5 of us, and one member of our party was served 20 minutes before the rest, feeling ashamed to be eating alone in-front of the rest of us. Though we understand this happens from time to time, the wait for the rest of the food was painstaking… and we didn’t even receive the correct food when it eventually arrived. The 15 year old vegetarian in our party ordered vegetable gyozas, with no traces of chilli, however we were not only shocked when we saw chilli, but suspicious about the gyozas. They were the wrong colour, so we asked the server if they were vegetable, and immediately they told us they contained chicken, after she had already eaten 2 unknowing. You can imagine how awful she felt for this, having been veggie for many years. We were grateful to receive money off our order, but this experience was dreadful.

My mother ordered a vegetarian tofu dish, as a pure vegetarian. We all only ordered vegan and vegetarian dishes. Despite this, she was given steak slices in her broth pot, by the manager. Unknowingly to her, she ate some before realising. We told the manager who then just offered to get a new dish, not really understanding or sympathising with the bigger issue at hand here that my mother has never eaten meat and was very upset. She didn't even want a reorder so we ended up taking it as take away. I tried to explain to the manager to understand the cultural significance. She took the price of my mum's meal off and gave us a £15 voucher, saying what else do you want me to do for you... It wasn't about the money for us but the significance of the mistake that wasn't shown respect. There were other service issues, such as giving us someone else's starters, who we had to give to the correct table ourselves, and then also at the end of the meal the table number on the table was wrong too so we had to wait for that to be sorted. Just overall a bad experience and very disappointing given we have always trusted wagamama for our dietary needs. Just a warning to avoid this particular place for their poor poor service.

Food decent but not up to usual excellent Wagamama standard. First girl who served us was great but she clearly left early. The whole experience was spoiled when "the manager" insisted we pay our bill while we were still eating. He claimed the systems would be down at 2300 so we had to pay before then. We were very surprised by this and suggested it was inappropriate given we were still eating our meals. He insisted again but we asked him to come back when we were finished. He did come back again but we were still eating. There were three of us (all middle aged) at the table and not one of us had ever experienced anything like this before. We're all long term residents in Richmond Borough and we will never ever return to Wagamama's in Richmond.

it’s sad to give a bad review as i really hope it was a good choice of an easy, tasty and reliable lunch. The staff were nice and sat us down quickly, especially we are with a baby. The really bad thing is the food quality has deteriorated over the years, my curry was ok, but my husband’s chicken udon dish which suspiciously contain some prawns in it gave him really bad food poisoning which led multiple rounds of vomiting and diarrhoea, lying in the bed and missing work. Our baby had a couple udon from the dish and he was sick in the evening too. It’s sad to see good business deteriorating over the years. Quality of food is top priority for any restaurant.

Gave me food poisoning. I ordered the chicken and ginger udon but it arrived with two prawns in the dish. I mentioned this to a waiter who generously offered to take charge off our bill at the end of the meal. Later that evening I had real bad food poisoning (diarrhoea and vomiting every hour). Needless to say I won’t be going back.

Food is good - chicken katsu curry and the pad thai are amazing. I do not recommend the firecracker. Service was amazing. Ankit was really helpful and nice. Made the experience more enjoyable. The restaurant is a quick walk from the river.

If you have a noisy table at Wagamama we ALL hear it! Needs some partitions or something to absorb some of the noise. Food as usual was great, we have chicken cha-han back on the Adult menu, now if we could just have the fantastic meat ribs you used to do....they were amazing! Unfortunately the replacements are mushroom based!😳

The absolute worst food, everything stone cold and not cooked thoroughly, if it were the packaging would have kept it hot. Zero seasoning whatsoever. Onions cut by Ray Charles. The chefs should hang their heads in shame all you have to do is follow the dish assembly steps and you’ve fudged that up.

Very disappointing visit. They are cutting corners to survive the crisis I guess but the food taste like plastic. We tried 4 different dishes and all were tasteless and disappointing. Then the bill came amd we though was really expensive.

We went to Wagamama in Bluewater and were disappointed with the smaller menu and less choice of beers. The food was over cooked and over priced.

We visit the Wembley Park branch of Wagamama, eating couple of pad Thai , one gyoza and one more starter, one come, 1/2 pint of beer. First: too hot inside considering the 35 degrees day ( 5 in row), they star the cooler fan upon request of customer with kids, it’s ridiculous to have a restaurant so hot with massive glass surface and open grill kitchen, unliveable! We paid 42£ for very poor quality pad Thai served by one girl that not even a brand new clean chop stick provide us, the dish was poor in taste and ingredients but high in chili, at the end of the day we went running toilet for this and the poor freshness of the ingredients. I am a 32 year experience chef in Michelin star circuit, and I found incredibile a unacceptable this service upfront the cost and the quality offered, very bad never visit again ( the restaurant wasn’t busy at all)

I am a Wagamama fan. Go at least fortnightly and generally drive into Manchester. Then my dreams came true ..a branch literally a 3 minute drive from home. Restaurant opened on July 4th 2022. Visited the 1st week. Whilst a selection of sides were scrumptious, the larger dishes were not hot and steak had not been cooked the way we requested. Also, after reminding staff 3 times, we were a portion of gyoza missing. Fast forward 4 weeks and it was a perfect experience. The staff were attentive and on the ball, the food was hot and fresh and full of flavour. We had a delightful meal, relaxed and happy. Will definitely be going back.

I have been visiting this Kokoro for months and I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. The food is fresh made on the day and they often make the sushi for my daughter and I when they don’t have ready. The employees are kind and friendly. I highly recommend!

Had a great time at sushi shop on Saturday. Gotta give a nod to the server, who made some spot-on recommendations, turning our meal into a delightful experience. The food, thanks to her killer suggestions, was next-level delicious. I ordered the spicy tuna hako, rock and roll and Each bite was a surprise, and I left with a happy belly and a new appreciation for the spot. Big shoutout to the kitchen team for making my night good.
