Bought a large box of sashimi which is usually really good- when I got home to eat it- I opened the box and was hit by the smell of gone off fish. If salmon smells - it’s off - how you could slice it up and box it up for people to eat and not realise is beyond me! Over £20 now in the bin! Please QC your fish better - it’s dangerous to give people gone off raw salmon!

Used to come here daily with a colleague, when the quality was better and the food cheaper. Now the state of the restaurant reflects its eventual decline. Any semblence of staff is once again replaced with generic Indians, who understand basic commands only. The Kitchen used to be filled with three East Asian master chefs, now only a person who's country you'd have trouble pointing out on a map. I ordered a "katsu" curry and received anything but. The chicken "meat" a malnourished strip of offcut from some starving chicken deep fried to plains of oblivion. Dripping with an unnamed yellow substance (other than my own bile) complimented with a rice - more mash potatoe than rice. I'm still wondering why I finished the portion, as I left for home feeling as nauseated after that rancid filth. The shop has only operated for a few years and looks, dirty, greasy, and tired - much like the chicken they served me before his last moments. The floor has a preputual feel of grease to it, like a spill at the lard factory, and one toilet has been out of operation for 3 years. Avoid. Let this place be gone, and join the ranks of restaurants which "used to be good" that have now closed.

I have been visiting this Kokoro for months and I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of the food and the service. The food is fresh made on the day and they often make the sushi for my daughter and I when they don’t have ready. The employees are kind and friendly. I highly recommend!

La comida está bien, pero si comes en estar preparado para una experiencia deprimente. la zona de comer de arriba no está limpia con un suelo tan grasiento que mi silla no paraba de deslizarse mientras estaba sentado. la ventana abierta que parece que no puede cerrar estaba cubierta de telarañas antiguas y lo que parecían excrementos de pájaro. Un stand - ventilador solo estaba sucio y francamente me hizo preguntar y preguntarme cómo es la cocina! ... pero no toman dinero en efectivo. Si comes aquí asegúrate de llevar.

Would not recommend this Kokoro. Food tasted bland and like it had been in the Bain Marie’s for too long. Other locations I have been to were a lot better.

Horrendous food quality. I came here for the first time and will never touch another Koroko store again. The food was drenched in oil, tasteless, meatless (funnily enough), would not ever recommend and better yet I’d love it if they could give me my money back.

Not sure what the bad reviews are about, always have a friendly staff and tasty food! Had various chicken katsu, sweet and sour chicken, Miso soup everything is always fresh, well cooked and tasty!

First off, they do NOT take cash - be warned! Secondly, the smell of curry makes you think this is all they serve. This isn't so, as they have a selection of hot and cold food. they need a better ventilation system! The flavour is fine, but I had a seafood udon (£8.45) and there were only two fried shrimps and some pieces of crabstick, which I thought was a bit underwhelming. It needed a bit more seafood in it. There are a few very basic tables upstairs, and one unisex toilet cubicle.

I made an order this evening and they called to say they only had one portion of teriyaki so I asked for the pork. When my order came they had put a bag of prawns and spring rolls in the bag as a goodwill gesture and a cute message on the bag 🙂 it's the little things that make a difference thank you so much kokoro richmond

Ok, not all KOKORO branches are created equal. The food here was not up to the usual standard. I took my son and his friend for dinner and was severly let down. Myv soon ordered a Sea Food Udon and his friend had the chicken Katsu. The Katsu was fine and the boy enjoyed it, however the Udon was awful. It consisted of a crab stick, I believe it was half of one, thinly sliced with some seaweed and udon noodles in broth. Not Sea Food. I informed the staff that this was not acceptable and got a refund. My son then shared my food as we had waited for his dish, while ours day going cold on the counter. I actually can't remember what I had as I just pointed it out, as they never had what I wanted of the menu. It was ok, but not great. If you feel like KOKORO, go to the one in HOUNSLOW it's just better. The RICHMOND one is just not run very well, with no atmosphere at all. When you eat in you just sit in a silent white room. NEVER ORDER THE SEA FOOD UDON. THERE IS NO SEA FOOD IN IT.

Update. God this place has gone down hill. Just tried to buy a meal for several people 3 hours before this shop closed. It took 5 min of teasing out one word answers from the disinterested girl serving as she would answer a question then walk off ignoring me to find out what food they had. It seems despite a large menu they had 3 items for sale & 2 of those were missing but expected to turn up at some point. So 80% of what they advertise was unavailable. I never did find out when 2 missing ones would return as that information was never communicated despite asking 3 times. Sitting a couple of feet away was an equally uninterested person I assume was the manager. In a town that was PACKED with customers it does show you why this was the only empty food outlet. They don't care & unless your desperate for this food I would not advise visiting. I walked a few feet away & spent £35 in a takeaway that wanted my business.

The service was quite frankly utterly poor. I had to wait 10 mins for the lady at the till to even recognize me. She could have gladly went to take my order but she dilly dallied at the back. I was willing to wait as my brother recommend me the food and mentioned how it tasted but the service let me down completely at this branch. I wouldn't recommend coming to this branch as the lady serving couldn't understand what I was saying and started to get into a huff when all I wanted was clarification about if I could eat upstairs which she said no to but then I saw someone come from there. I felt utterly disrespected and I felt I had wasted my money.

As a none meet eater!! Ordered 2 x Salmon Teriyaki...took them home opened them up, there was no salmon but meat instead. Took them back - showed the lady at the counter. Her response was "I know, we run out of salmon so I thought to give you this instead". Such a ridiculous comment that it's totally laughable. 2* is for this stupidity not the food Check your order, incase she thinks you should eat something else instead 😅 5/11/2022

This particular branch has become really dirty over the month, you’ve only got to look at the counter and walk up the stairs to the seating area to see what I mean. Your customer toilet hasn’t been fixed for months, the ventilation and music are always off, I won’t be back.

The flavour is not as good as the other kokoros iv been to in Kingston, morden and Sutton. Quantities for the large was disappointing as well so be returning any time soon.

Unfortunately, they were cutting chicken katsu near the curry sauce and some pieces even fell in the sauce. To me it contaminated the sauce as I ordered vegetarian good. I ordered tofu katsu.

Sorry Kokoro. Your lovely pristine premises were let down by your claggy food this evening. Then add unfinished elements (wires hanging out of walls), broken toilets (and less than a week old) and especially lovely staff who are desperately under trained. Brand new and yet untidy and dirty….. sorry there are much better options in Richmond. You need to raise your game or we won’t be returning and I fear you’ll not make it. Pity. Was so pleased to have another Japanese in town.

I recently visited Wagamama in Richmond for dinner with a friend, and it was a delightful experience. The food was fantastic, as always, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. What truly made the evening exceptional was the outstanding service provided by one of the waiters, Harris. From the moment we sat down, Harris was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional. We were initially struggling to decide what to order, but Harris stepped in with helpful suggestions and patiently guided us through the menu. His recommendations turned out to be spot on! His warm demeanor and excellent customer service really stood out, making our visit memorable. While all the staff were polite and helpful, Harris went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. If you’re in Richmond and looking for a place with great food and exceptional service, Wagamama is the place to go—and if you’re lucky, you’ll be served by Harris!

Had a great time at sushi shop on Saturday. Gotta give a nod to the server, who made some spot-on recommendations, turning our meal into a delightful experience. The food, thanks to her killer suggestions, was next-level delicious. I ordered the spicy tuna hako, rock and roll and Each bite was a surprise, and I left with a happy belly and a new appreciation for the spot. Big shoutout to the kitchen team for making my night good.
