My grandson loves coming here for lunch and using baby chopsticks.

The food was nothing special. Relatively tasteless and unfortunately too expensive. However, the service was nice and friendly. But overall too expensive for what you get.

Delicious hot pot on a rainy day!

Ah, Wagamama, where the customer service is as warm as the freezing outdoor breeze. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday, thinking we’d enjoy a nice meal indoors. Silly us. Apparently, we missed the memo that we were supposed to be part of an outdoor exhibit — no signs, no instructions, just vibes. After standing inside for a brief moment (because, you know, warmth is a human necessity), we were promptly kicked out. How charming! It’s not our fault we weren’t immediately greeted by a staff member who had clearly just come from a seminar on "How to Replicate the London Attitude." I’ve met tube station attendants with more warmth. We waited outside in the cold for a good 10 minutes, while there were plenty of empty seats inside. If you’re into passive-aggressive customer service and recreating that authentic London experience, this is your spot! Cheers, Wagamama, for the chills — in more ways than one.

Staff were friendly and very accommodating to our various needs. Not one eye blink and even some bland chicken cooked as requested for my son who only eats that. Food for the rest of us was great too! Great experience all around.

Food was beautifully fresh and waitress was lovely

We’re long-standing fans, and I’ve been eating in various Wagamama’s for almost 25 years. It doesn’t matter how quiet or busy the places are, they’ve got a perfect way to set the ambience with subtle lighting and table setup. Today was just like any other, though the squid was overdone and chewy. It wasn’t bad enough to complain, but my son wouldn’t eat it, though it’s his favourite dish.

The restaurant is amazing however when we order from deliveroo we got half portions

I tried the grilled chicken ramen and it was honestly very disappointing.

I cannot believe the waiter is so rude….We just got in the restaurant and he asked us to get out and wait outside the glass door. No explanation at all. Obviously there are a lot empty tables. I understand it is the dining peak hour however the waiter’s altitude is very bad. I have been to wagamama in other cities many times and I Won’t be here ever again.

Avoid. Our server literally never came to our table at all. People who were seated 10-15 mins after us were served before our server even came to our table to say hi and ask for drinks. Instead, she was forgetting dishes at tables in our area and stood at the front doors laughing with other employees. She didn’t seem to care as to why we left. Yuck.

We came here twice during our 3 day visit to Scotland. Sandra was amazing and kind. She took care of my son who was not feeling well by making sure he had right things to eat. Her kindness is appreciated - Wagamama Edinburgh fans!

Sadly the server forgot to process our order. He didn't notice for 30 minutes. Forgot our drinks. Waited 40 minutes for them. When food arrived was wrong order. Polite server but he was really struggling and not keeping track.

I have been to this particular place about 10 times maybe more. I cannot fault it at all. The food is spot on the service is fantastic I can’t complain one bit.

Very RUDE waiter. He brought the wrong order( rare steak instead of ordered well done) . Then insisted me on eating it. However, the waitress who took the order, came to my rescue & told him that it was the wrong order. It took very long for my order to be prepared again. By that time, all of my friends & family were long done with their meals.

Our server was so sigma. He was a cool bald guy who told us all about his powerlifting and rugby records. Food was gnarly. He put the bruh in edinburgh. SKIBBIDIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!

I recently had lunch at Wagamama and it was fantastic! The dishes were fresh and flavorful, with a great variety on the menu. The service was quick and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Great food location and service

The ramen noodle was overcooked and bloated, it was like they were cooked in the broth rather than briefly blanched in water separately. The distinct chew quintessential to ramen noodles was absent. We appreciated the condiments provided as the broth needed significant adjusting to have the umami flavour that is normally provided from the tare component of ramen. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but if you are a ramen connoisseur, i recommend trying other menu items.

We really need one in inverness! Food is amazing and never disappoints 🥰

Average Chinese restaurant. We ordered Pad Thai, which did not taste much, and Thai Beef Salad, which was good. We did not get our food at the same time, 10 minutes apart, which was quite disappointing.

Our party stopped at Wagamama a bit after 21:00. There wasn't long of a wait and we were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating on the main floor but also has an upstairs seating area. The service staff was extremely friendly. Drinks arrived promptly and food came quickly after (though this might be because of the late hour and fewer patrons). For my drink, I ordered the "Green Samurai" which is a blend of melon liqueur, yuzu, and Asashi beer. It was excellent! Other members of our party really enjoyed the Cherry Blossom Lemonade and the Yuzu + Lychee tonic. As an appetizer, we ordered a round of the vegan K-dogs. Covered in crunchy noodles, a vegan mayo and sriracha, these protein-packed corndogs were delicious! For a main, I went with the Vegatsu (a vegan take on a chicken katsu). The curry sauce was delicious and the tofu had a nice, crisp, fried breading. It was a very filling dish. I also sampled my partner's tofu gochujang rice bowl. It had a pleasant kick of spice and a medley of delicious vegetable flavors. Overall, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely visit again!

Phoned to see if I could change my order, was met with a standoffish member of staff who told me I had to contact Deliveroo which I did and they told me to phone the restaurant and it was going round in circles, this must’ve been the last order of the evening and they must’ve wanted to close asap! However after this phone call I then received my order to my surprise (not) it came wrong, instead of chicken raisukaree I got prawn when it clearly states it’s marked as chicken (not to mention the poor amount of curry sauce), even the top of the take away tub is marked, so thanks guys £36 down the drain 👍🏼

It might just be me but god it was heavenly, the food was a 100/10, i ordered number 69 (sticky rice, 100/10 beef, carrot, green stuff). The food was out very quickly even though it was crowded, it was a little noisy but it's understandable. Their system works great, i don't regret going there AT ALL. Everything was so great.

Great visit to this branch when we’re fans of the chain. Not overly busy so the wait was only a few minutes. Location is central to New Town too so easy to get to.

Probably unfair rating it on a Friday evening dinner service. Didnt have to wait long for a table, about 15 minutes, ended being on a shared high table near the door. Wasnt great but was bearable. Food was the usual fair, service from kitchen was a bit slow waiting for our mains. Our curry dishes seemed to have shrunk, curry was very thick and get a bit sickly towards the end. Was hard to get the attention of the waiters to get drinks refill and the bill. Ended up paying in cash as we couldn't be bothered waiting for thr waiting staff to come with the card machine.

Their hot and spicy ramen on a cold December evening was absolutely what the doctor ordered. Every mouthful filled stomach and heart with equal amounts of goodness and comfort.

I guess I'm grading the chain in general but I just ate at this one location. The stuff was very friendly and we didn't expect nothing more than salty fast food Asian flavour, which is why we actually enjoyed our meal, but if someone wants to have an authentic Japanese experience - this ain't it haha. The quality of ingredients seemed okeish, it actually tasted like something you'd prepare yourself at home as an amateur - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but with the small portions and high prices it is - hence 3 stars. We were actually surprised that our rice bowl and noodles tasted kinda healthy and not greasy, because I guess we craved spicy fried chicken in glassy soses and we got something that you could call a light meal. Anyway, even though the quality was what we expected, after leaving the restaurant we realised that we paid £14 each for just ok noodles and rice and £7 for tiny micro bao bans, so the conclusion is that what you eat there is ok but doesn't justify these prices.

Nice restaurant that you can find a rich variety of Asian cuisine. We had to wait around 15 min at the door because it's a crowded place. Simone served us, he was very kind. We tried tama squid, chilli chicken ramen, chicken raisukaree and we liked them. The porsions were big.

Went in & was seated right away, given menus and then despite being sat near the bar where there were several staff doing things hanging about & passing the table every 2 minutes…we were not checked on for almost 25 minutes for a drink or food. I had to eventually ask to be served and upon explaining that we had sat for almost 25 minutes without service, our server said ‘thats okay’. And took our order as if we hadn’t spoken, food came and was average. I asked to pay and she said i could use the QR code, I explained my phone didn’t work with QR codes sorry & could i have the bill. A further 15 minutes later i had to go up and ask again for the bill. They were not busy and when she seen me she said ‘oh yeah your bill’ no sorry nor acknowledgement of the delay. She then presented the card machine with the option to tip & seemed irritated when I selected no. Wouldn't go back but by their attitudes they seem not to care less about customers anyway.

Many waiters are running around, busy doing nothing. Food was totally overpriced. Dumplings were dried out. 5 minuten waiting were 25 minuten. Do NOT recommend this place.

After the absolute disaster at Franco Manca round the corner, this was welcome. A warm reception, superb food, freshly cooked and quickly delivered to my table, and a friendly atmosphere all round. Lovely.

I had the pleasure of trying the Chili Chicken Ramen at Wagamama, and it was an absolute delight. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick without being overwhelming. The chicken was tender and perfectly complemented the noodles and broth. Highly recommended!

They did an awesome job of seating us on a busy Saturday night without any wait at all! The food was good, but as the waiter advised, a bit spicy. Would definitely go again!

This is some of the best Asian food I’ve ever had. The spicy miso mackerel and the chicken katsu were astounding. Only complaint was that each of our 4 plates came out at different times, causing the old “oh, go ahead and eat while it’s hot” comment from the person who got theirs 10 minutes after the 3rd person, who was 5 minutes after the other two.

Well, we didn't have a reservation so we had to wait a little bit which was absolutely fine. When we were shown to our table there was spilled food on the floor which would be left alone for the remainder of the evening. The service seemed rather unorganized. We had some starters and four main dishes, which would be served when they were ready. So we got one main dish, couple of minutes later one starter, a bit later another main and starter, then our drinks and so on. The first main dish was finished when the last one was served. We were told that this was normal. The food and drinks were absolutely fine.

We went to eat at Wagamama as I told my husband the Glasgow restaurant was amazing place to eat . On arrival to this Edinburgh restaurant we stood at the front door waiting to be seated, we could quite clearly see about 4 empty 2 seated tables, a waiter came to the front door, I told him we needed a table for 2, he then proceeded to give us a menu then closed the door and told us to wait outside, the restaurant was NOT busy nor was it full, NOT acceptable customer service, VERY disappointing overall, especially if you are a paying customer. I could have understood if it was busy but it definitely was not busy at 2.30pm we seen empty tables, NO reservations on the tables either 🤔 we left and took our custom elsewhere.

Really really good service from Naomi. Very friendly and courteous even topped up our water when it was low and didn't even have to ask for more water.

Ordered the chicken katsu pie. The pie was probably sat under a heat lamp the entire day. The crust on top was hard and dry. The chicken wasn’t katsu. The cherry blossom sake drink tasted like soap water, typical of cherry blossom.

We were here for dinner. The service was very fast. Everything we ordered was very tasty. But I’d like to say something special about the smoked chocolate caramel cake: it’s amazing. We asked to replace the regular ice cream with vegan miso caramel ice cream and the combination of chocolate and miso was inimitable!

One of my worst Wagamama experiences. Made to wait outside for a very long time, despite the venue being half empty. Then took forever to get my food, was largely ignored by staff. Food came over cooked and burned in places.

Prime location, good food (similar to all Wagamama), not that long queue unless you're arriving on the peak time, friendly service. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good restaurant without breaking a hole in your pocket

I was absolutely appalled by finding plastic in my ramen! This whole experience left a bitter taste which completely ruined my evening. I will not be attending this restaurant anytime soon as the service was disgraceful. I’m not one for bad reviews but Wagamama St Andrews Square was just abysmal!

Amazing food, so many options, great for vegans and people who have other dietary preferences. I had the vegan ramen which was delicious. Only thing, we had to wait 5mins at a busy time of night and there were some free tables upstairs so that was confusing. Otherwise an absolute vibe and so efficient.

We're friendly staff, and changed my dish even after it was cooked for no fee. Serve free green Japanese tea, which is very soul warming. And on top of that - their chili sauce!!! Try to eat it with noodles - it is like eating the egg yuminness itself!

Naomi the waitress was fantastic very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem. A young man at entrance didnt know much about gift cards but Later when paying Naomi said they were accepted so all was fine. Food was very good will definately be going back.

Service was sub-par with an item being brought to the table that we hadn’t ordered and still needing to pay on top of items we did order missing. Otherwise great food and atmosphere and most of the staff were friendly.

We arrived little bit late for lunch but they were open and kind to serve us. Offered us a table, ask for our order and I have to say that is the first brunch that they actually listen our petition clearly. ( We didn’t want nothing spicy, and our waitress wrote it right) We enjoy our meal. Service was ok. Chicken Teriyaki noodles was great. And the Beef ramen was also really good, the portion was right, hot and tasty.

This was honestly the worst restaurant experience I have had in Edinburgh. The food was below average (we had the chili chicken ramen and the regular chicken ramen as well as the vegetable gyoza). The service was truly terrible. My friends food came and no one noticed my food has not arrived for over 20 minutes because the servers didn’t check on us. I had to ask for my food from another server, it wasn’t even being made. Truly not worth it. If you want ramen head to maki and ramen it’s far better and there are way better Asian food places in town.

Unplanned supper given a table straight away. Shared 4 dishes chicken kebabs prawn kebabs cauliflower side and greens side . The chicken in teriyaki sauce like warm and the cut of chicken disappointing. Would have liked all my dishes served together quite a as it after being served the green veg first. Glass of sauvignon ok based on my visit wouldn't rush to go back

The same dish from the menu tasted different and seemingly with a slightly different recipe in this branch. Serving portion of soup-based dishes were always inconsistent, too. Juices were sometimes only 3/4 and again inconsistent with their serving portion. Central location and convenient for a quick meal.

One of my favourite places in Edinburgh! Service is kind, attentive, and welcoming, including the kitchen staff, who are always working efficiently and with a smile on their faces. Their food is always interesting and full of flavour. Queues outside are proof that this is a restaurant worth trying!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went for dinner with my boss yesterday evening after work and was refused alcohol by the Manager. We are both in our mid to late 30’s, parents and professionals therefore I was shocked. When we questioned why we were unable to order a bottle of wine with our meal - we were told that he had made a judgement that we were drunk (straight after work?) and that based on what we looked like, dressed like and how we spoke he had the right to refuse us. It was humiliating, incredibly personal and hurtful. Disgusting behaviour.

We stopped in wagamana after a long trip, where I was exhausted, there was a miscommunication between the waiter and I, which I believe wasn't the waiter's fault at all, but they were very professional regarding that and assumed the mistake. The sympathy of the staff here is just unmatched, it's always a pleasure to stop by in Edinburgh particularly for that reason! Thank you everyone for that.
