Had a lovely dinner with my partner at Browns. Lovely food and cocktails, and our server Sara went above and beyond. Will definitely be back in the near future, Thank you!

Had a very nice experience visiting this restaurant for dinner, we had delicious cocktails and food. We were helped by the lovely Sara, she couldn’t have been more helpful. We loved the Edinburgh branch and it has restored our confidence in Browns.

Went out of a meal on mothersday was busy but not packed , food was alright but service terrible despite being sat right next to the till/servers station we seemed to wait ages for any staff attention & even then it seemed alot of effort for the server ... won't be recommending anytime soon.

Browns is a well appointed restaurant and bar. We were with a large group and the waitstaff worked their hardest to serve us well. There are many food options and all appeared to be prepared well. The bar area is well appointed and if given more time, I would have preferred to linger there longer. I would recommend Browns for a business gathering where entertaining clients or coworkers will be easy. I’d also recommend Browns to my friends and family.

A really great experience. Andrea, our server, was brilliant. Attentive and efficient. The food is delicious and to a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend.

We went for a meal to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. Our host service was carried out by Carlos from Spain who was attentive, friendly and made the evening very enjoyable. I don’t usually write Google reviews, but the experience I had at Browns was something I felt I had to share with everyone. I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Jasmine, and she truly made my visit unforgettable! From the moment I sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly kind. She anticipated everything I needed without me even having to ask, and her energy was so positive—it genuinely elevated the whole experience. Jasmine is a true gem and an example of what great service looks like. I see this as just the beginning to her career and I can’t wait to see where she goes In the future. Thank you for making my day so special, Jasmine!

Great experience here the other week, friendly staff and first class monkfish curry!

Visited last week for some dinner. We tried the pork belly with scallops & the amaretto peaches. Both were lovely. The restaurant is gorgeous and our server Jasmine was delightful. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Had a fantastic traditional roast at Browns in Edinburgh – everything was cooked to perfection, from the tender meat to the crispy roasties and giant Yorkshire pudding. Big shoutout to the head waitress Jasmine – she was friendly, attentive, and really made the experience special. Will definitely be back!

Browns Edinburgh is a fantastic place. I was served by Jasmine and she made sure to meet our needs and requests by listening to us. She was incredibly friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. She truly made our experience at Browns one to remember and made us dine there numerous times after that! Visited Edinburgh for the first time and had dinner at Browns, the food was delicious. I had the monkfish curry and the trifle for dessert both amazing dishes. The atmosphere was beautiful, food came out quickly. Our server jasmine was absolutely amazing, so attentive and kind to us. She let us know of all the great places to visit nearby and made the experience overall 10x better. Would recommend to anyone and I will be returning soon.

I had a fantastic experience here recently! There were various options of food that catered to my groups needs. One notable dish was the coronation cauliflower which was delicious. In terms of service we had a fantastic experience as Jasmine was an absolute pleasure when serving us :) I will definitely be coming back !!

Went over for lunch, tried the duck breast and the tiramisu both dishes were delicious, I got served by Marine, she was lovely, so professional and attentive nothing was too much to ask for. Went for the food definitely come back for the service, highly recommended!

Although the food is good, seeing us as foreigners it took them more than an hour to bring us the food (with almost no people for the hour). The poor waiter, dying of shame, told us that he would invite us to a round of beers for the wait. But the rest of the staff ignored us in an exaggerated way and did not give us a payment option other than what they indicated... I do not plan to return and even less recommend.

Nice place - BUT (and you knew there was going to be one) What a Rip Off !!!. Firstly, the signs on the very long bar stated "Table Service Only". This basically added 10% to an already highly inflated bill....examples being (service included in the price)....1 Americano coffee £4.35....1 pint Peroni £7.85....1 pint basic pale Ale £7.55.....1 large glass of "House Wine" £14.60 ----- £34.38 being the exact cost for FOUR drinks. I WON'T BE BACK !!!

We went as group of 10 for some afternoon tea. With £25 a person it was one of the more affordable ones I could find and it was very tasty. They catered to vegetarians and gluten frees nicely as well. It was super easy to book as a group and we had a great time.

Had a meal this evening at Browns. Our server was Anett who was very pleasant and welcoming and smiley. My husband’s meal of squid followed by cod was nice albeit a little bland in its flavour. I had prawns to start followed by linguine, which again was ok, but again, wasn’t very flavoursome and was a little bland. Will go back next time we’re visiting Edinburgh but will try a different dish next time. Overall, it was a nice environment and our server was pleasant.

Wow! Really nice place. Had an amazing dinner. I ordered steak with fries and watercrest... The steak was perfectly cooked nice and thick exactly like I like it. The steak kinda needed a little flavor, but I added the salt from the green beans and it was perfect. Chef the way I like my steak is only with sea salt and pepper. The lemon meringue dessert was to die for. Overall everything was perfect. I would do this again it is more than 5 stars.

Staff not friendly whatsoever , long wait times for food despite it not being too busy and the waitress took away wine glass when it was not entirely finished and did not come back and ask if we would like more to drink.

It's a really lovely place. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we personally just didn't enjoy our most of our food. The duo of duck was dry (starter), and the steaks for our main were very underwhelming (they did allow us to take a steak home for the dogs). One dessert was uneatable (they did give us a free hot drink). But the scallops (starter) and crumble (dessert) tasted great. So mixed from us. Great atmosphere, staff, and ambience. Let down by food.

I stopped by for lunch today and had a great experience. The food was delicious, but what really made the meal was the service. Arthur, my server, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. It's rare to get service like that these days. I’ll definitely be back.

Great food & service. One thing to note; we had a table of 12 and the table layout wasn’t great. There was only one exit for the 6 of us who sat along the couch meaning we all had to stand up to let each-other out. Ideally there should have been an exit at the other end, and a circular shaped set up would have been more ideal.

Food and ambience was very good but the service was extremely slow and we had our coffees given to us 10mins before our desserts!

We had a wonderful evening! We started with the Devon crab and avocado starter which I highly recommend, followed by a delicious Châteaubriand to share. The quality and tenderness of the meat was incredible. The service was impeccable and of high quality. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation!

Marvellous visit to Browns with a last minute booking. Rather quiet in January but busy enough for there to be a nice ambience. We were looked after by Anette who was brilliant on looking after our special dietary requirements, and making sure we had a lovely evening. Food was spot on. Thank you!

Had an absolutely lovely time here, the food and service was absolutely top notch! We booked here as a little celebration for getting engaged and Isaac was absolutely brilliant! Waited at the door for 5 minutes and the bartenders were staring at us the entire time. My hugo spritz tasted like carbonated water and did not taste any st germain liquer and looked like a mojito, so the very kind server got me a glass of wine instead. The martini pours were very very small, did not fill up the glass I would say at all, probably 3/4 filled up if that and it was like 2 sips and done. The soup was the best part of the evening, the leek and potato soup was the star. The food was good, mediocre at best. We asked for the steak and scallops and only the steak was brought. I got the prawn and crab pasta and dish and asked for the broccoli to be in the dish as no veggies were in the dish and the broccoli was brought on the side. The server started out great as she has like 3 tables when we arrived and by the time we cashed out she has half of the dining room and was super busy. Very understaffed and sub par experience. If we are ever back in this city, we would not come back at all.

We went for their Sunday roast, and it was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had! The meat was so tender, the sides were delicious, and everything just felt so comforting. What really made our visit even better was the service. Isac, one of the managers, came by to check on us, and he was so friendly and attentive. You can tell he really cares about the guests and makes sure everything runs smoothly. The food, the atmosphere, and the people make this place really special. We’ll definitely be back for another roast soon!

We had such a great time at BROWNS! The steaks were incredible so tender and full of flavor. Honestly, some of the best we’ve had in a while. On top of that, the service really stood out. Manuel took care of us, and he was fantastic, super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. We felt really well taken care of. Definitely a spot we’d recommend and can’t wait to visit again!

Restaurant is lovely however the festive menu was very disappointing - prawn cocktail was watery, goats cheese served straight from the fridge, traditional Turkey dinner was dry, sea bass; one fillet beautiful, second fillet dry. The beef was enjoyed by two of the party. We were a table of 4 and I could not recommend the festive menu to guests wanting a dining experience. Larger parties may not notice. Male staff were all excellent. 20.12.24. Disappointed that I responded to the request from Browns to get in touch on 11th December and still waiting

Wow... Just wow. Food was delightful, yet had a bittersweet tinge (wife had recently left.) A little treat for myself definitely went a long way however. Make sure to watch out for the silverware, very shiny! One tiny complaint however, would be the price of the pints. Speaks more about the state of this country however... We are in the end times. I love you all

George Street, Edinburgh. Eateries are expensive and posh. Rubbish, my first time in Brown's last night and it was amazing. The place does look grand, it's very clean and tidy. The staff were amazing, no delays in serving the food and they are always around to help and serve. Food was top notch, the wine is good. Red was better than the white. All in all an enjoyable night out. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Very disappointing, Xmas menu not very good value for money, and the table we were at was in a passage on the way to the toilets

Very disappointed with my visit to browns. My partner and I booked our table a month in advance for a special occasion and was confirmed to be seated in the restaurant. When we arrived we were treated as a walk in table and seated in the bar. The table we were sat at originally had really low seats making the table chest level to both is us. When requested to move they said they were fully booked with no tables in the main restaurant and only had one other table in the bar area. We moved for a lower table but that table was by the walkway and door and constantly had other guest lingering around our table for long periods of time. The service was very slow and the bar area barely had much attention to it. We had our main plates cleared and got offered the dessert menu, we waited 45 mins to then have to ask again to see the menu. The food was lovely and the restaurant’s interior itself was beautiful but our experience was ruined from the start. Overall was not a great experience and was very upset and disappointed during our visit.

Service not as good as I’ve experienced in past. Sat down and waited at least 10-15mins to be acknowledged. Forgot our Prosecco and then later lost our dessert order and left us waiting a long time. Grudge paying £16 service charge when it was clearly missing that day. Prob my last visit, better restaurants to choose from.

Food quality of the festive menu was excellent, as was staff service and friendliness. We came as part of a big group from a corporate and the organisation was all excellent from Browns and made everything really easy on the night. Thank you Browns for a lovely evening!

We booked a Table for 8 but ended up with two call-offs which were dealt with brilliantly by the staff. The table we had was in an excellent position with plenty of space and not too close to others. The waiter was 1st class and the food delicious. Everyone without exception agrees we should return next year. There was not one word of complaint from any in the party.

An overcooked burger, a burnt cutlet and bun, tasteless fries, everything is very tasteless and overcooked. Cocktails are good, but not the best

Food was very slow. Bread was stale. Roast was mediocre and one bit was boiling hot and the veg was quite cold. We didn’t get any buttered greens as advertised on the menu, just watercress.

The place is very pretty, especially at Christmas time. The food, on the other hand, is nothing exceptional. The scallops were overcooked and too salty and the fish was also overcooked. It's just passable for the prices. But the experience overall wasn't bad.

Really disappointed with the service and food during our meal. It took 40 minutes from sitting down to order drinks. Which we had to get a waiters attention. The food was below par, with other times we’ve eaten at a browns restaurant.

A great experience had! Browns clearly know how to cater to a sizeable group (10 people). All the staff were incredibly accommodating and kind. A special thanks goes to the manager, Emmy, whose professionalism and help in booking and arranging this night was greatly appreciated.

Went there for my 70th birthday with a party of 8. The food was lovely, no complaints whatsoever, the service was impeccable but why oh why do establishments like this persist in blaring out (in my opinion) loud music. The place is very busy and obviously noisy so at a table of 8 it is almost impossible to hear what other people at the other end of the table are saying. OK I accept that I’m a grumpy old so and so but surely if you go out with others you would really like to be part of the conservation. Just my observation but perhaps not in line with everyone’s views.

Lovely service by the server who took our order and brought first two courses. She was so helpful and friendly, making recommendations and asking us about our visit. As we said we were celebrating she must have mentioned to the kitchen and an extra (complimentary) dessert arrived with those we ordered. This was a lovely gesture. However we did end up with too much as we'd ordered two desserts. The meal was lovely but a little more expensive than I expected hence the lowish score for recommending to others.

A very special birthday dinner. Food was 10/10! Jasmine was our lovely server and we wish her the best in her future career ❤️
