Wagamama in Cardiff

Truly amazing place!!! We are here every other week. I can’t live without my spicy miso mackerel, it’s pure heaven ! The stuff is ever so friendly, it feels like a family ! Thank you xxx

I ordered the chicken katsu curry and my friend had ordered the duck donburi. Food was amazing! Service was incredible - We had been served by Dani who was amazing and so friendly and so helpful ! Really made me feel comfortable and made my dining experience excellent and easy. Would definitely recommend and eat here again

Food was bland and very oily,have eaten in many branches of this chain,this was by far the worst. Asian food is normally seasoned. Our food had no seasoning

Locale accogliente e pulito, personale molto disponibile e attento alla clientela, hanno chiesto se qualcuno di noi avesse allergie o intolleranze. Piatti belli all'aspetto e buonissimi al gusto. Esperienza fantastica e consiglio di provare appena possibile. Non vedo l'ora di poter gustare altri piatti tipici.

We went here for lunch visiting friends and we had a lovely time! The food was so tasty and our server Thilini was amazing! She was very attentive and polite and made our experience that much better! Would definitely come here again!

Absolutely amazing food, great customer service from a lovely waiter called Dani. If you’re looking to have delicious food, I deffo recommend going to Wagamama’s Cardiff library. It’s amazing! 🙏👍🏻

We had a lovely time, Chilli squid was delicious and a good size portion. Salmon and noodles was tasty. Bottles of lager sooo expensive for 330ml. Draught Asahi £6.80. Lager too expensive!

Wagamama is a perfectly fine experience if you're in the mood for Asian-inspired food in Cardiff. It's inauthentic and overpriced, but slick and comfortable enough that you'll probably be OK with that.

Went to wagamama today. Bare in mind this is my 2nd time ever being in this restaurant chain. I don't like giving negative reviews, even tho the food was excellent I can't say anything bad about that. But I thought the customer service was a bit poor. As soon as I went in I was taken to my seat and the waitress spoke so quickly I didn't know what she even said then she disappeared. So I kinda just sat there and didn't know what to do lol anyways after some time someone came along and took my order. And it didn't take long at all to arrive. Again the food was great! But I just felt a bit uncomfortable. None of the waiting staff barely said anything or smiled or anything 😅. Maybe that's how some places work these days. You go in get your food and go. I guess I am just used to more friendly places. Again I am not knocking the food but maybe just be a bit nicer or friendly or just bloody smile. I'm not asking a lot but just be nice to your customers that's all 😅

Coming from Melbourne, Australia, the food was just ok, enough to cure the few weeks of Asian food absence. The flavours may be there but way too mild. The most disappointing thing was the ramen noodles which were so soft, almost soggy. Whilst the egg in their ramen was very good, they were still missing harmony in that ramen bowl, almost confusing. Their donburi bowl was just ok (personally, too mild, good for kids though). Their drinks were fresh and quite delicious. The best dish that I had was the fried squid. Their service was pretty good. I honestly expected it to be better (from the high Google rating).

Food was OK. Service was not good. Waiters/waitresses were extremely slow. A big show of asking how the food went was popular. Although the item numbers were noted on our table sheets, the servers were still confused and placed it in different places.

Good vegan selection - Katsu Curry was delicious!

What can I say nothing to complain. As you’d expect the food is incredible and the service is amazing! Would always recommend the chicken ramen and load it up with chilli oil and chilli powder(or whatever the thing is in the wooden shaker) drinks are always great and always recommend. One thing I would say is this location seems to get a queue very quickly but if you go before the lunch rush you should be good.

I always visit when in town. Busy, buzzy, and fast service. Big choices and gorgeous food. The healthy smoothies are a must try. The noodles are a star find. Every taste catered for. Miss the restaurant. Love this place.

Popped into Wagamamas with my mum whilst Christmas shopping as has become our tradition. My mum has had spinal surgery and found the seating very uncomfortable. When I asked our waitress Jennifer if we could move to a padded seat she informed us that there were no padded seats. However Jennifer collected a sculpted seat from the outside eating area and replaced the bench style seat for us making my mother much more comfortable. We always receive a brilliant service from wagamamas Cardiff library and the food is always delicious but this extra care from staff today impressed us greatly.

To be honest, I love food at Wagamama however this was the first time I realised that I had eaten as of now chicken and seafood. For a change, I decided to try vegan/vegetarian food. Unfortunately. Unfortunately, disappointed as it was not worth the price. It's not that it was bad. However, I felt, it was hyped. Wagamama indeed doesn't disappoint if you wish to enjoy the seafood and chicken though.

Love wagamama so always try and find one when traveling ! I prefer the booth options with more comfortable seats, they tried to accommodate as much as they could 🙂 food was great as always. Only thing I hate is the scanning options always mentioned, but as long as wagamama keep the cash options and service without use of mobiles I will always come back !

The food was great and fast as usual and the service was very good the waiter called lucas was very friendly and helped recommend a rice bowl that was very good

My wife and I went to Wagamama for the 3rd time and we will always love going to this amazing restaurant. The food, service, atmosphere and especially the people are really top notch. Special thanks to Andre who served us tonight and was very friendly and welcoming and also helped us with making some good food choices. A true gentleman and a valuable member of the restaurant. Everything about Wagamama is very highly recommended.

Some of the dishes are nicely flavoured, others not so much. It's a chain so expect non-offensive food fit for western pallets

Yummy evening dinner. Had the duck bao buns and tofu pad Thai. Both were very yummy and had some lovely Texture to them both. Good buzz of the place and very clean. Service very good and looked after well. Thanks for a lovely meal.

i’ve always had a pleasant experience here. the staff are always friendly and make you feel very welcome. the food is delicious for anyone who enjoys japanese cuisine. i’ve tried the chicken katsu curry (this is a must try 10/10), i tried the beef teriyaki donburi (i didn’t enjoy this very much but it was very flavourful) and the beef brisket ramen. the portions are huge and fill you up. i would definitely recommend this place.

I have been to various chain restaurants from Edinburgh to Cardiff. This is the most cosy and tasty with the most polite and attentive staff. I wish all chain restaurants were as nice and clean as this one.

This place has the best service I've ever had at a wagamama and they tend to have good service. Our server Yanning served us efficiently and was very friendly. As for the food, it's what you'd expect from a wagamama.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE 🫶 Used a student code and got £60 worth of food for two people down to £20 each after using noodle union. Staff were super lovey and sweet. Had the new vegan k-dogs which were delicious. Literally loved the whole experience. Incredible work Cardiff Wagamamas special shout out to Sean our waiter who was just superb ❤️❤️❤️

First I want to mention the very nice and friendly staff. People were very polite and lovely explaining everything (special drinks, payment etc). We were already at a different Wagamama some time ago so we knew what to expect. Food is good, not outstanding fantastic, but good. Also not cheap but still ok. What I personally don't like too much is when there is quite loud music while eating, it's just not a great atmosphere to sit and have a chat, but I know this is the concept so I don't rate that overall.

Had a lovely meal with my girlfriend, our server, Sean was absolutely brilliant with their service and made us feel extrwelcomed.

I went today with my girlfriend, Sion, who served us. He did a really great job at serving, and he was very friendly. Provided great recommendations, too.

Majority of staff were attentive and helpful, surprisingly, the manager Alex was rude. The food was good but when it came to paying the bill, the manager seemed annoyed to calculate basic math for 50% staff discount. He sighed and said can we all just split the bill equally when our dishes varied.

It’s Wagamamas, you can’t go wrong! Everything about Wagas is amazing! Food is always fabulous and lots of selection. It’s a bit expensive especially if there’s a few people. Also the dine in experience can be a bit awkward for introverts due to seating layout! I recommend going late at night so it’s less busy! The Bao is nice but doesn’t compare to the proper thing. Their juices are absolutely beautiful! Also anything teriyaki I absolutely recommend!!

We come to Cardiff every year after the Royal Welsh Show, and have walked by many times, but never came in. None of the restaurants on St. Mary Street looked interesting this year, so we came in for Ramen. We were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant filled up quickly. We both enjoyed the shirodashi pork belly ramen. A tasty and filling meal. Enjoyed very much!

Having been to a couple of different Wagamamas in the past, although not for a year or two I was a little disappointed and underwhelmed. My son ordered a steak teriyaki soba which was ok, but not the best I’ve had here. My beef brisket ramen was spicy, but not in a nice way. Just like it had lots of chilli or pepper thrown in. The flavours weren’t amazing and it was all in a bowl of oily water. I didn’t love it. It was edible but not really tasty. When we first arrived we were told (as you always are) that the dishes will not arrive together. Fine. But the restaurant was pretty empty and I’d finished my main before my son’s meal arrived. A good 15 minutes apart when we’d ordered only two things in a very quiet restaurant! How hard is it to bring them out closer together? How do other restaurants manage?! It was almost like it’s being done on purpose and it’s put me off. Not massively cheap, service was friendly enough but average food and a long wait for one dish probably explains why the place was 1/4 full on a Friday night.

I went with my husband and daughter. My food tasted lovely so it's a shame there was hardly any chicken. My husband ordered an Americano with his food and it looked like an espresso as the cup was so small. We ended up having to go into the Tesco Express afterwards to buy more food as all felt unsatisfied. Wouldn't go back or recommend.

I often dine at this buzzing and friendly restaurant for the full Wag-tastic experience, but I also enjoy their unique food at home via Deliveroo. Everything comes properly sealed and packaged in microwaveable containers and they have put the option of the more nutritious brown (wholegrain) rice back on the Deliveroo menu. (NB: Please always fold the the bag over before sealing - this keeps the dishes MUCH hotter. Thanks.) However, I was disappointed that they took Carrot Juice off their Deliveroo menu - this is one of the most underrated but healthiest of all juices. Please reinstate it or ask Head Office to do this.

Our server Oojal was exceptional and so helpful. She was clear and friendly and very attentive. The music was a bit too loud but apart from that the experience was amazing.

I came here Friday night with my mum and two year old nephew. The food was amazing but our server Meghan was the lovliest lady and she was so patient and friendly with my nephew when he kept wanting her to colour with him / show her his dinner etc. She was also really good with my mum who has recently had a brain injury so can get very confused and overwhelmed but she was so patient and kind and answered all her questions (which was a lot!). Thank you Meghan, you’re an asset to them!

Second time here and was superb again. Staff were great.knowledgeable and attentive.Food really nice too.If I were to be picky the option of lemonade instead of tonic in a g and t should be easy to swap without having to buy a Sprite on top for four quid odd.Just swap the mixers.Simples.

Love everything about it but the portion size, I ordered a new item on the menu the chicken wings and it looked like they took some meat out of the wing.

First ever Wagamamas. Highly recommend this place and the staff.

Great food, fantastic service. They were extremely busy with queues outside but we waited around 5 minutes max before seated. A Greek lady looked after us, sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was super but so was everyone. Food was delicious. Well done all.

Yum, I love Wagamama. Customer service was great. Food was delicious, 100% recommend. I recommend getting 5 starters to share with friends, I was alone so couldn’t share - not that I would’ve because of how yummy the food was, lol. Please get the Chili squid. The other two starters were good but the Chili squid is the best.

Absolutely great service. Order some food to take out for the first time and didn’t let us down. Food was hot and really well packaged.

Been here today with my sister. The staff were friendly, there was not much of a wait and the food was fantastic. I had a chicken + prawn Thai pad and my sister had mini chicken katsu meal. We both really enjoyed it! We will be coming back again.

My food was delayed and my friends had finished their entire meal before my starter even came out, our waiter (luciano) was so lovely and attentive and noticed I was sat without food and did his best to sort it as soon as he could. I really appreciated his great service :)

Luciano and Niki are the absolute stars of this place. They are lovely, personable and made me feel so welcome, especially as I was dining by myself! They are top tier and I would highly recommend visiting for some fabulous service!

Visited last night with my daughter. We both had the chilli chicken ramen. Great size portions, really tasty food, has become her new favourite place to eat. Clean restaurant, lady who served us was polite and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Best Wagamama I’ve been to, first one I’ve been to where the waitress explained that the steak was medium rare, and that the food comes out when ready not all together if I had been told that previously at other Wagamamas I would of not thought the service was that bad so I suggest all team members from other stores do the same especially the ones in London. Waitress was new but was brilliant best we have had and just friendly staff overall someone making sure they was saying bye and checking all was ok on departure. Great food and great staff if I return to Cardiff will definitely go back

First time here and didn’t know what to expect, ordered a glass of white wine and went for the steak teriyaki soba, Got asked how I wanted it cooked so as usual I went for medium rare, didn’t take too long for the order to come to the table, when the food arrived it looked good and was pretty hot. The steak was a bit over cooked and the some of the noodles were burnt. Presentation was pretty good but didn’t know what to expect. Would go back but maybe try something different.

The waiter Sean, was absolutely amazing! I believe it was one of his first shifts the company and he was the best waiter I have ever had. 10/10 service & food. He gave amazing reccomendations and helped us with everything !

I had a disappointing experience at this Japanese ramen restaurant. The noodles were oddly soft and mushy, while the broth was just average. The worst part was the cold gyoza, which should have been crispy but became greasy and nauseating. Overall, a disappointing lunch

Order of items received at table was odd... my main, then drinks, then my partners main (5 mins after I got mine) and then our starter. Food was okay but nothing special. Service was friendly.
