Wagamama rarely disappoints especially when you order your usual i.e. Fire Cracker Tofu and Pad Thai

Lovely meal. No reservation, think we were extremely lucky as queue had formed on departure. Food excellent, service good.

Stopped in here for some food midweek with a group of five. Ordering was quick and both food and drinks arrived really quickly. The chilli squid was absolutely spot on and it might be the flavour from that which made the katsu curry taste unfortunately quite bland. The toilets could do with regular attendance. They were quite unpleasant. The bill paying by app was a pain and it put me off wanting to eat there.

Sorry it is a no from me. Visited Cardiff Bay we were waiting for the bus into Cardiff which was 30 minutes wait, went into Wagamama for a drink whilst waiting. Seated ourselves after 5 minutes a staff member came over and told us they don't serve drinks only so we had to leave. The place had only three tables with customers in the entire place that we could see, 90% of the tables were empty so to turn paying punters away seems like business suicide. Nonetheless we won't be back we didn’t feel welcome, one of our party was visiting from South Africa and it was their 2nd day in the UK.

Absolutely fantastic food. This is my third visit and every time the food has been superb. Every dish was seasoned perfectly with lovely fresh ingredients. Great atmosphere and the staff were all very polite and attentive. Would highly recommend, great for both vegans and meat eaters.

Had some lovely food tonight at the Cardiff Bay Wagamama. We were a party of 6 and it was a little get together for one of my Son’s Birthday’s, my other Son unfortunately had a call out for work while waiting for all of us to arrive so we couldn’t order straight away, we spoke to the gentleman serving us and he assured us it wouldn’t be a problem, we didn’t realise until later on we were served by the manager who’s name was Curtis, i felt he really did go above and beyond, letting one of us ring my Son while taking our orders and waiting for my Son to get back before bringing out all of or food, he even remembered to bring him his drink while still serving other customers in between, i expected to have a long wait for food but he was really on the ball with the service and all of our mains came out together. I just felt like nothing was too much trouble tonight and it made our evening even more enjoyable. I’m guilty of never leaving a review for anywhere i go but all six of us commented on the amazing service we had tonight. I was sad to find out he had left before we paid but we left a £20 tip in the box which i hope he gets a share of. Also wanted to mention how lovely the food was. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed it so compliment's to the Chef’s too. The staff really do deserve a pat on the back here and we’ll be back very soon.

This was my first time visiting a Wagamamas and it certainly lived up to expectations, the experience was amazing. Our attendant was incredibly attentive and regularly checked in. The food tasted great I had the Pad Thai, I was pleased to see lots of vegetarian options. We has the cookie dough ice cream balls for desert. Lovely stuff. The only criticism is that maybe its a tad expensive and the cloudy lemonade wasn't sour enough for my liking.

Delicious... Just the right taste in everything. We need to take stairs to enter the restaurant.

We had a beautiful lunch there with my partner, very kind waitresses and good food, they also took great care of his peanut allergy, greatly recommended!

We were served by Curtis who is an absolute gentleman. Made the whole experience worth it for a first timer eating in Wagamama. Overall the food and staff are lovely. Definitely coming again!

Had a fantastic experience at your restaurant. Not only was the food amazing (I had the Crispy Duck) but the service was great too. One of our party had a food intolerance and the staff were so careful and professional.

We visited Wagamama on Saturday before going to watch a show at the WMC. We had to queue for a table but this moved quickly and all staff we encountered were extremely friendly. As always food came quickly and was piping hot. 10/10 would recommend.

My daughter chose to have her 13th birthday meal here & she said 'it was the best Asia food she has ever had' The shift Manager Curtis was extremely attentive. Made sure my children were happy with their food. Even double checked food had no milk allergy for my youngest. We will be back in future Thank you to staff for a fantastic experience.

Waiting staff were fantastic. Food is very good. The main thing that let it down was a delay on one of our sides, that ended up not arriving. That said the waitress went out of her way to sort stuff out for us and very much resolved things to our satisfaction. A enjoyable meal and we'll certainly be back.

Went on my own for dinner and the staff were really friendly. Service was quick. The food was amazing and came out in a timely manner . I ordered the crispy mushrooms and the chicken firecracker. They both came out together and were both really nice. The dessert I went for was the chocolate cheesecake, which was equally delicious.

Great food and service, we were a bit worried as they were due to close in about 40 minutes however they were all really welcoming and everything tasted delicious.

Visited this place on Saturday, 27th April. We sat down at about 5pm, placed an order soon. We noticed many people who came after us were served first. Order kept on getting delayed, no word from a waitress. When we asked, she went to check our order. She came back and just to tell us that there was a technical glitch on a screen so they couldn't process our order. This is what we were told after waiting for 40 mins.... The strange thing is, drinks were served within first 15 minutes. If there was a glitch then they couldn't have processed our drinks. It all felt a bit dodgy. When we questioned this, a waitress (wears glasses, blonde double ponytail hair) kept repeating " all I can do is apologise" several times which made us feel less welcome. We also noticed she was quite friendly with other local diners but very flat towards us. This incident and how she handled it had affected over date a bit. Luckily, a few other memebers were absolutely fab. Saved our day.

Can anyone go wrong with Wagamama? Not in my opinion. I visited on a Monday night flying solo. Exactly as I would expect from Wagamama. Fast, friendly service and great food. I went for the bang bang cauliflower starter followed by firecracker prawn 🍤 main. The firecracker prawn as the name suggests is very hot 🌶️🌶️🌶️ … exactly how I like it! Wagamama is a fav of mine. Consistent wherever you go. I’ll be back. 😎

Lovely pre-show meal, ordered my usual and it was as great as usual 😁 Glad we went early as place was really busy/queues when we were leaving. More expensive than I remember, but great meal all the same.

The food was delicious! We got the Korean hot pot and the teriyaki with noodles. The service was excellent, and there was only a 15-minute wait to get a table. It was a bit more expensive than I remember it being and the music was a bit loud, but it was very yummy.

We had a very nice meal at Wagamamas in Cardiff Bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can't book so if you arrive at a busy time you may need to wait for a table.

It was our first time at Wagamamas. And sadly we would not go again. Our main course came before our starter. The Katsu chicken Curry was dry and over cooked. The sauce was bitter and unpleasant. Four of us had the same meal. But none of us finished the dish. The BBQ chicken boiled bun starter was very nice. It is obviously a popular and very busy place. Twelve of us went and at least six of us would not go again.

Nice meal, not too busy but did have to wait a while for the food to come. Oh nice the food arrived it was first class. Definately worth a visit

Too much chili and any other species on 1 cm² but could be nice if you have a cold.

It’s a nice restaurant, with variety of food and drink, but there is a big problem. Whenever I try and go to the bathroom there, somebody always comes and bangs on the door, continuously trying to unlock it, and this has happened 3 times in a row. Apart from some selfish customers, it’s a nice place, although it is very popular, and I recommend booking.

I have been to this Wagamama's many times over the years - always a good standard of service, food and drink. We visited before a show last night. Served by Curtis, who was quick to get us to our seat. Food came out in the usual Wagamama's way, but was pretty quick. The food was delicious. A good start to the evening and perfect for a pre-show meal.

Im a regular with wagamama but my first time visiting the cardiff bay branch. I always love the food, especially the chilli squid, but i want to give a special shout out to one of your workers…A young man by the name of curtis served me and my partner. He made our experience so comfortable, his knowledge of the menu is impressive and he was non stop making time for other customers. A shinning light on a great experience. Ok, but getting samey now, not as good as it used to be. Griddle plate could have done with a scrape to keep the crispy bits off.

Dinner was amazing, and we hardly had to wait. The manager assisted a blind gentleman whilst we were there, and it humbled us all.

Food was nice and our server gave great service however we waited quite a long time to get served, probably around 15 minutes when we got sat down which seemed a long time.

Just had a wonderful experience at Wagamama’s at Mermaid Quay. As always, food was great but my youngest son waited longer than the rest of us for his food so the manager (we think Kurt!) took his meal off our bill and offered us a discount which was greatly appreciated. My son said he was the kindest man he had ever met. Fantastic service, thank you so much.

First time at Wagamama and it did not disappoint. They have really tasty vegan options and we got a couple of things to share - ramen, vegan ribs and greens. All was delicious. Best vegan eats we’ve had out in a long time. Quick and friendly service too 😁

Terrible! Didn’t receive our mains after waiting for 45 mins. Spend so much time explaining the food comes out at different times they forget to bring it out to you. The Lady with the blue hair is extremely rude and unprofessional she was a so called manager but seemed to dull to ever become a manager in a respectable establishment

Absolute shocking experience from start to finish. Young lady with blue hair is probably the most rudest person I’ve ever met in my entire life with extremely low to non-existent customer service skills. She should definitely not be management level or working in any establishment and has customer service at its forefront. We didn’t receive our meals. We waited over an hour and a half of food. The whole system of this establishment is shocking. I visited the city centre branch. Things were a lot smoother and the staff seem to be a little bit more on the ball I would avoid this place great Chinese/Japanese round the corner just go there. If you choose to go to this place and the lady with the blue hair serves you run!

We had an amazing meal and the service by Shaaz was superb. She was patient and very friendly with our kids too. Had orders the Padron peppers but didn’t like them and she took it off the bill.

This place serve Asian food. And it is like a factory: quick in - quick out. But the food is absolutely acceptable. We had teppanyaki and ramen and both dishes were fine and plentiful. Service is very good. Prices are reasonable.

Service was quite bad. Atmosphere wasn’t welcoming at all. A constant clanging (breaking?) of plates in the kitchen was of utmost annoyance and didn’t let us enjoy our meal.

As always Waggie's never fails. Top Management and staff. We'll be back for sure. Food and drinks are fab and portions generous.

First time at Wagamama, the food is excellent. We tried their veggie gyoza ramen, mushrooms buns, ginger and Lemon grass tea and veggie katsu curry. Our server Shaaz, made great recommendations for us. And even explained about the types of noodles they serve so well. It’s refreshing when the servers know the food well. Can’t wait to try the recommendations she made for next time.

Went for my daughters birthday. Really good food ( I had the vegetable gyoza ramen, would recommend!) and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come again.

It’s catchphrase is “food that hits your soul with a bang” - yes, it almost gave me a heart attack too. If this place is worth 4.5 stars then all ramen restaurants in Japan should be Michelin 3 stars. I can’t understand how do parsley and kimchi come into one bowl, conclusion is I need a bottle of red wine to rinse my mouth after this. Again, I knew this place is bad but I intentionally came to experience it so that I could read a comment here.

Queue going out the door despite a restaurant full of empty tables. It appears that they don’t like paying their staff. Everyone stood around waiting over 10 minutes while 1 poor staff member cleans the whole place by himself. Nothing wrong with the place except stingy management- ridiculous for a busy Saturday night.

Great food, no complaints, had the chilli chicken ramen and tried the miso soup for the first time.

It's a really nice place, but it's expensive. I had heard rumors that the food was undercooked, but I don't think that's the case.

Staff had catered to my partner's dairy and yeast requirements really well. This review is in place of a tip I'm not in a position to provide unfortunately, due to a heavy change in property. We're vegans and fussy eaters, it can sometimes be difficult to meet our dietary requirements and the staff were really friendly, and helped with any changes we made. (We modified two dishes) It was really nice that the management and chefs obliged to our needy food requirements, we understand it can be a little frustrating with so many requests and changes specifically for our table. Great team and amazing food, lovely restaurant. 5 stars.

Wagamama in Cardiff bay is hidden away above Roald Dahl Plass, which gives you some great views to people watch while you eat. This is a fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating available. Always nice and clean inside, spacious during lunch time. Food is always top quality and tastes great on every visit. You can park nearby in two paid carparks within a 5 minute walk

I wish we had a Wagamama where I live (isle of Man). I am always amazed at what a slick operation these places are. All right, it's by no means cosy and intimate - you share a trestle table with a dozen others - but it's noisy and great fun. Terrific menu, and the food seems to arrive within minutes - how on earth do they do that? And it's great food, too, and the service is super-efficient and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Come on Wagamama - come to the Isle of Man, and I'll be your first and most regular customer!
