Great food from a very authentic family run restaurant at a reasonable price - definitely recommend sharing lots of plates! We also had wonderful service from the son Ivan who gave a great recommendation of the crispy chicken. We will definitely be back ☺️

El menú establecido es muy agradable y variado si 2 personas están comiendo juntos. menú para 4 o más significa que la selección de alimentos es aún mejor. En general, la comida es fantástica, el mejor arroz frito que hemos probado. En invierno el restaurante puede ser un poco de corriente desde la puerta principal, pero esto vale la pena soportar para la comida.

Food was amazing. It was worth the price.

Generally a really nice place to have a meal with friendly staff. The food was well priced with most menu items under £10. My favourite was the karaage priced at £6.80 and was delicious. Although I wouldn’t say it had the most authentic tasting dishes such as the yakisoba it was a very pleasant place to eat with generous portions.

The pork ribs are good, but the cold noodles is so bad, they don’t add kimchi (even they are called kimchi), and the fruit used in the noodle soup might be rotten, because it tasted like alcohol and the next day I felt gross and I had diarrhea. :(((

Honestly the place is fantastic, the food is fresh and very good. Overall very clean and tidy too. The service we had was impeccable thanks to Ivan, he was a legend! made everything very simple and devoted time to answering questions and even giving us a tutorial to the BBQ. Faultless and would recommend. Wide range of food and drink options. Can customise dishes to your liking. Look forward to going again soon. The prices are reasonable too. Worst part is location due to parking restrictions. Ivan if you ever read this thank you again, you made the experience what it was!. Have been to others before but this was our first experience with an electric grill not a coal/hot stone set up. This is the place in Cardiff to eat Korean food!

This was a fantastic experience, food was beautiful and the BBQ experience is not to be missed. The only downside to the whole experience was the seating arrangements..we were in a group of 5 , booked in advance and unfortunately the only way they could accommodate us was by adding a chair at the end of the table..it made everything very cramped and blocked off access to the walkway. The staff were lovely, the food was fantastic. This would have been a full 5 star review if it were not for the cramped conditions. I will definitely return.

Dropped in late afternoon on a Sunday after googling for Korean BBQ. Very warm welcome, good service, and the food was amazing. This looks to be a family-run business and is really worth paying a visit. Highly recommended

Salí con mi papá y el ambiente del lugar era cómodo y acogedor, la comida se sirvió muy rápido y el personal era tan agradable y servicial. la comida era absolutamente deliciosa e incluso nos proporcionaron lechuga de cortesía! 🥬 Volveremos pronto! 🥳

only reason i go here is because only 2 restaurants in cardiff do korean bbq, and the other is too far for me. from the many times i've been, the owner's attitude/service has been really bad. i brushed it off because its the only place i can come to, but yesterday when i ordered delivery, it was almost an hour and the driver still hadn't called. i called the restaurant to ask if i could get the drivers number just in case (because last time this happened, the driver went back to the restaurant with my food and i had to pay an extra £4 for them to redeliver it). i didnt know they arent allowed to give out the drivers number, and the guy on the phone told me nicely, but in the background i could hear the owner screaming in chinese to "let the driver call her dont bother about her!" in an incredibly rude tone. im chinese as well so i understood lol and i felt so taken aback because why was he even screaming so loud and rude over such a small issue?

Great restaurant! At first, we were a little confused by all the options on the menu, but everything we ordered was delicious. I really recommend the sizzling beef that was great, the kimchi was excellent and the edamame beans were so good. The dishes are big and filling, if you are looking for a great night out, this is the place to go

Pequeño restaurante familiar encantador en el corazón del cantón con la carne de res más auténtica que he experimentado. Considerando un viernes ocupado los trabajadores y los chefs han trabajado increíblemente bien proporcionando un servicio impecable y también nos dan la mejor edamame y carne de res en la ciudad! Had the hotpot between and friend and myself which was very delicious and filling. Also had the spicy king prawn rice which was very tasty. All people that served us were very kind and attentive. Offered a container for us to take away the uneaten food which was great. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in Cardiff! Only downside was we didn’t realise it was cash only before eating so had to go to the cash point down the road after.

A Hidden Gem with Generous Portions and Excellent Service! A Lovely little restaurant that exceeded our expectations in every way. The portions were incredibly generous, and the service was top-notch. Our waiter gave us great advice when we were ordering. What really stood out was how flexible they were with the menu. We ordered the mixed meat BBQ and the king prawn yaki soba, but wanted to swap the prawns and chicken around so we could BBQ the prawns and enjoy the chicken in the yaki soba. They accommodated our request without any fuss, which was greatly appreciated! It was also clear we were a bit out of our depth with the BBQ, but the waiter kindly stepped in and offered some much-needed guidance, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Some reviews mentioned a lack of seasoning however this was not the case for us, along with the kbbq we were given a small dish with crushed chilli and another with a sauce for dipping the meat into. For anyone looking for a delicious and inexpensive meal without the commercial chain restaurant vibes, I would highly recommend this place. Just be cautious not to over-order as the portions are quite large! You can easily eat well for under £15 per person if you order sensibly.

The food is not really Korean taste as the owner and servers are Chinese. If you already tasted a real Korean food, you will notice that even their dips or sauce to the barbecue are not really Korean. The service is also that bad as they turns off your stove even if you are not yet done grilling and if that is already your last batch of order. Won't recommend to anyone who craves for real Korean tastebuds.

The owner of the shop is Chinese, not Korean, but the service is very good and is very nice.There are many food options to choose from, all delicious, especially the Yakiniku set. You can order a single dish to eat alone.The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is okay, like being in Korea, but the tables are quite close together, making walking difficult.

Good portion of food from the assorted beef platter; however, some of the meat taste a lil too blend as it was not marinated at all. The beef from the beef bibimbap was dry and small and the hot sauce on the side tastes diluted as well. Last, the BBQ grill was a little concerning as the black cover pad on top keep falling off pieces and we were concerned due to the health risks it can pose to us (I hope that is not plastics).

Marinades for meats are delicious. The Yaki Soba with vegetables is very good. Very good Korean restaurant. A downside for the dining room on the 1st floor which is not at all welcoming. Don't forget to bring cash to pay as they don't accept credit cards.

It was our first Korean food experience. The management is friendly and the kimchi broth tastes really nice and refreshing. We also ordered fried rice and dumplings. Food was good.

Love this restaurant! Always amazing food. I eat in and take away, both are great. They are cash only, but will wait for someone in the party to pop around the corner to a bank machine. They're very hospitable. My favourite dish is the spicy udon & kimchi on the side. So lovely.

Kimchi is a lovely restaurant. I've been quite a few times now, and always been impressed. They're excellent with checking for food allergens, and helping with anything you don't understand. Price is extremely good for the amount of food you get! Highly recommend.

Despite what it says here and on their website, it was cash only. This is really unacceptable in this day and age. No-one carries that amount of cash with them and it meant a soggy dash in torrential rain to a cashpoint further up the road. Requiring cash only, with no advance warning, risks people suspecting tax avoidance or money laundering! At the very least, it's profoundly unprofessional. At least warn your diners in advance! Food and service were average. Plentiful, at least.

Never left a review before but have to for my favourite place to eat! When i lived close enough i would order the udon noodles everyday, best ive ever had!!!

Really good food as usual, particularly the barbecue, the pancakes and the sizzling dishes. Atmosphere and staff communication could be a little better and it was a bit cold in the restaurant, but overall a decent time everytime we go to Kimchi.

Sakura’s unrequited love for Sasuke was always a question Naruto fans wonder. Like why is this girl ‘simpin’ so bad that she lost most of her character development in the later arcs!? In any case, I understand her one sided love, kind of like my love for this restaurant. Sometimes, this place hurts my pocket and it makes my clothes smell but boy everything taste 10 out of 10. KBBQ, K fried chicken, Japchae and the Bibimbap. I am a total Sakura for this restuarant without a doubt.

The weather is cold, it shows that they will open at noon, we arrived at the restaurant at 12.05 pm but it is still closed. We try to knock the door and ring them, but no one answered. There was a man in the kitchen who saw us but just kept ignoring us still. If you don’t want to open business you can just shut. Not recommended

I enjoyed the Korean salad which doesn't have lettuce and tomatoes in it and the Korean ribs and I am happy to come back when I am in Canton again.

Overall food was OK. Bibimbab was a bit weird. Some of the vegetables in it were really sweet. With that kind of flavour, I'd rather just have fresh vegetables than the ones that's been marinated in sugar and juice. Hot pot was a bit overpriced, but still OK. One of the waitress there was a little impolite. I don't think I'll be returning to this place, at least any time soon.

Great food, lots of options. Also serving Souju in on ns other alchoholiv and non alcoholic drinks. They do take cards now, not just cash. Recommend a visit.

Ordered food delivery at this place and the food came without any cutlery, I called to solve the problem but the waitress who picked up the phone was SUPER RUDE. She blamed all this on me cause I didn’t give extra notice to ask for cutlery. Like what??? The delivery platform has extra notice if I didn’t need the cutlery but the default is you SHOULD give cutlery with food. I told her I don’t want to argue anything and just want to sort this out, she then told me if I need any cutlery I have to come to the restaurant and pick it up myself cause they are super busy. Wow, the RUDEST service I have ever experienced. Impressiveeee.

Food average, they do not take card payments, but they do not tell you this until it is time to pay for the bill.

Bland food and the air extractors are just for show above of the grill because they don't work at all. Its cash only and you only know that when you get the bill. When telling the waiter you should have put a sign so people know it's a cash only restaurant, his response was " I only work here" the service overall wasn't nice and you could hear the staff argue in the kitchen between them. I definitely won't go there again or recommend. Please avoid this rude restaurant.

Really good place for a Korean BBQ experience. Is not an all you cat eat however the proportions were very good. The only 2 bad things were that the place is small, 6 tables of 4 at most I think, and that they only accept cash. Other than that, a very good place! You can also take away your leftovers :)

I love Korean food so I was super excited to come here with my friends. The food arrived quickly and was decent, but not the most authentic Korean cuisine. While the chicken dumplings and bibimbap were enjoyable, the overall flavor was somewhat bland. Despite this, the portions were generous and definitely filling. The lack of a "cash only" sign was frustrating. We had to walk quite a distance to find an ATM to pay for our meal, which was an inconvenience.

This is the go to place in Cardiff if you love good food. I have never been disappointed with the food nor have any guests I have recommended this restaurant to. My recommendation is the udon noodles (meat of your choosing) with all the BBQ trimmings. Chimchi pancakes are a must. If you don't have to loosen your belt a notch upon leaving you aren't doing it right.

My family and I were looking for a perfect birthday place for me and we came across this Korean barbecue, we never tried Korean food so this was new to us, but this restaurant filled all our expectations and more! This place was beautiful, it was traditional and amazing, the server lady was so nice as well as the other servers, they were so polite and attentive to us and always made sure we were happy with what we got. Food wise it was delicious, the food was large in portions and seasoned beautifully. Everything was set out neatly and conveniently! 100% would recommend eating here, food, service and the building in itself was and is a 10/10!

I really love Kimchi. Their food is delicious and when dining in the grill it your self experience is unlike anything else in this city (they get bumped up a star for that). I wish you got the sides/accompaniments you get in other Korean bbqs which really ad something to the meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself is run down and from the outside, you'd probably think it was closed down. (bumped down a star for this for sure). It really doesn't compare to other Koren BBQ places in terms of style and service, and I really wish they'd revamp but they're always packed because there's nothing quite like it... and di I mention it's delicious?
