I hadn't been to a Wagamama for years and to be honest, my impression then was of a chain which had once been good but had gone downhill. I was very pleasantly surprised by my recent visit to Wagamama Hampstead. The menu had been thoroughly overhauled, the ingredients were fresh, portions generous, restaurant clean and spacious and service attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back. (I had the duck donburi, which was delicious.)

Wagamamas used to be great and the ideas still are but they are delivered without style or care here. The chilli squid was rubbery and the gyozas were still stuck together straight from the freezer. Even the chicken katsu was disappointing - chicken thin and not very succulent. So sad

Food not very good, specially my husband's yaki soba: all noodles and hardly any chicken or prawns. Expensive for quality provided.

A regular family lunch place for us at the weekend. Food is always good, high quality, price has gone up a lot. But why take away the chilli steak ramen? Apart from that, it's reliably good every time, food and service, nice place, rarely disappoints. Sirloin steak ramen is the best - normally cooked to perfection. Soft and not chewy.

We went here on New Year's Day and had fantastic food and excellent service from all the staff, particularly from the manager on duty. Highly recommended. It restored our faith in Wagamama (lost after a few not-so-great experiences in other branches).

This has got to be the worst Wagamama branch. I was shocked. Not busy. Huge branch. Spacious. Having said this and I noted another customer nearby saying the same, not the cleanest. Staff seemed to be living on another planet, despite there being so many. My teriyaki chicken donburi took ages but I expected something nice. Instead it was cold. I am honestly thinking they forgot about it. People who ordered after me were served quicker. I was too hungry to send it back. It was nice if it had been cooked properly! Needed more flavour too. The fresh orange juice was good. The dessert was awful. I should have gone to get an ice cream nearby at another place! I ordered the banana katsu which came out quicker than my main course but it was also cold and felt like a child had made it at home. Really not a restaurant standard dessert. Badly presented and like it was just thrown together. Wagamama for me are generally always good and a safe option. This branch was a big let down and I won't be going back. Surprisingly, the only thing that came out quick was the bill!

As a local been here several times, the service has always been very indifferent, so much so that we go further to the rather non atmospheric branch in Swiss Cottage where you are at least acknowledged as a customer. Seem very popular with local teenagers who are presumably happy with slow service.

I went to Wagamama Hampstead this afternoon as it is convenient to where I work. I am always greeted by the most polite and considerate staff. Today was no exception Daniel was the first to serve me and attempted to remember my previous order which means a lot to me (when I’m on a meal break and short of time). Next was Magda who I had seen before she was initially preparing a nearby table for future customers and stopped to acknowledge me she is always smiling which in turn makes me smile. This is why I’m a returning customer and will continue to return.

Service was fast and efficient. Staff were friendly. Relatively quiet but got busier on a Wednesday evening. Huge restaurant. Cosy. Nice atmosphere filled with families and friends catching up. Wagamama is one of those places where you know what you will get. I love the fact that they provide calorie information as well and have an excellent vegan menu. They have the usual dishes of ramen, donburi and salads to name a few but then also bring in new dishes which is nice. A girl commented on a table next to us how it's difficult to decide what to choose and I agree! Big variety. I eventually settled on a new addition rather than going for one of my usual dishes which was the chicken nikko curry with white rice. The soup like curry was delicious. I was worried it might be spicy but the coconut curry with vegetables and lemongrass was perfect and portion size was big. There is a vegetarian version of the curry as well. You can also choose white rice, brown rice or noodles to have with it. Food normally comes quickly at Wagamama but this took a bit longer. I did not mind waiting as it was nice to relax and worth the wait. Freshly made and piping hot. Delicious. The appletiser I had to drink was nice and refreshing with it. One of the few places to offer appletiser. I had the white chocolate and matcha cheesecake for dessert and one shot black americano. Having visited Wagamama for years, their food is excellent but they can never deliver on desserts. This was OK but probably the last time I have a dessert here. I love their food and drinks but that's it. Reasonably priced. My main negative, looking around at a number of tables was that they received their dishes at different times. They need to try and bring all dishes at the same time. There was a family nearby and most of them had eaten and nearly finished whilst their one son was still waiting for his food.

Seems the new menu had been in place for just some 2 months or so.We missed some old favourites that have gone, but the new menu had plenty of interest in it. However, we were somewhat disappointed to learn how calorific some of hte new dishes are - and these amounts are not disclosed on the menu (hopefully law changes will force disclosure). So some of us amended our proposed orders accordingly. We tried chicken ramen, coconut sea broth and duck ramen all of which were very good. There was an agedoshu dashai as a starter - this was more like a soup and one is not sure how standard this is. We finished with some mini-cakes (all ginger) and the mochi ice cream - the desserts were excellent. Service was a little strange in that in rotation we were served by 3 different servers, and all this in a place that was far from busy.Overall, Very Good, but hoping for calorie disclosures on the menu soon - not least as this may lead to development of healthier dishes.

I visited on 6th May to an empty wagamama. We like wagamama and have visited islington and others around. The food is usually top taste fresh etc... Here was not the case and very surprising being in our home town of Hampstead. I was given out of date steak with some ingredients missing!!! The meat tasted really old was cooked rare but that made it even more obvious that it was over a week old I have to my wife and she said AWFUL. I left the meat no one even asked why probably new as the place seemed dead WHY! The waitress never came over at anytime to ask how were things more busy chatting with colleagues. When I finally got her attention she bought over a raw ingredient as if to say cook it yourself and I will charge £14 for so greasy noodles. Which didn't taste much different if not worse than the local Chinese. We got 3 small prawns old piece of line £7 undercooked no sauce tasteless. After this experience we wrote in the manager replied do you want to chat??? About your experience I am somewhat perplexed as I had wrote clearly to them what is to chat about. Seems even an APOLOGY is not given. I do want to state this steak teriyaki dish is one of my favorite and I will return to the islington branch in the future as there the food is spot on shame it's not at my doorstep.

Had not been to this branch for a while and on this occasion we did not arrive until after 9.00 pm when the place was fairly empty.Leaving aside the lack of ambience and focusing on the food, I was somewhat disappointed with my choices. For example, the duck gyoza was over-cooked to the point that the exterior that ought to be crispy was beyond that stage (and had become brittle) and the interior was dried out. My mandarin/sesame chicken salad was dull because the it looked and tasted tired, not least because the dressing lacked any zing (and a zingy dressing can always be served on the side to cater for variety in diner's preference)Whether my experience was disappointing because it was late in the evening (place due to close at 10.00 pm) I cannot say, and to be fair, friends in our group seemed to enjoy their dishes more than I did mine.Overall then, a rating of Average seems about right

We ate here as the Thai we were heading for just across the road on Heath St was closed for some reason, and after walking from a pleasant visit to Kenwood House. We have visited this chain in London and other cities previously, and one thing we thought we could always rely on was its consistency. That illusion was shattered here unfortunately. We both ordered Pad Thai, mine veg, my partner chicken and prawn, along with green tea. We eat this dish regularly, weekly in fact, and it is a favourite. On entering the restaurant we were shocked to find it seemed to be an out-of-control and unmanaged venue for local families, and in fact we were asked to sit between two of these, which we politely declined. When the Pad Thai arrived it tasted and smelled nothing at all like the dish we've had countless times everywhere else, including branches of this chain. In fact it had no discernible aroma at all and tasted of noodles and vegetables that had been warmed up, and the chicken and prawns in my partners dish were substandard. When asked by the staff how our food was we told them, and they kindly offered to replace the partly eaten dishes with new ones. The manager even came over and asked if we would like an extra small bowl of sauce, which I declined and replied that we'd just like enough in the dish. Two new plates arrived, as bland, truly dreadful, and utterly tasteless as the first. We were told by the manager that we would not be charged for any of our food and left after just a few mouthfuls of the second failed attempt at pad thai. The staff we encountered were all fine, but the hectic location, and the truly dreadful nature of the food have really revised our opinion of this chain, specifically in relation to consistency and food quality.

Popped in after work for a quick bite before meeting a friend in town. I find this chain is a reliable place for a pit stop and nothing more. The Hampstead restaurant is very nice indeed but be warned you'll soon be surrounded by families with small children who take over this place with noise. I started with the summer rolls, beef. It came immediately, obviously straight from the fridge and it was severely overchilled, freezing almost. The beef was tough and grizzly. I then selected the Pad Thai, which was fresh and tasty but a small portion for the price and was made with very thin noddles, not proper wider Pad Thai noddles. So if you're used to dining in Hackney or other places with authentic Asian restaurants you'll know this is just a place to catch a bite of fresh food and you'll know you've been ripped off on portions and prices. Staff were very nice.

The food is OK by this chain's standards (which is pretty high to begin with), the wait staff were efficient but just a warning; can be loud during lunch hour with babies and young kids and excited teens.I've been twice during the lunch period and I finally asked a waiter if its always like to and he said 'yes'. Which means this place is a really good choice if you have a baby stroller or younger kids/teens. The floor was nice and flat and the table and chair arrangements allowed movement. If you're looking for something a bit quieter, I'd suggest asking for a table or bench nearer the back.

Delicious healthy Japanese food, my favorite. Locations all over London, even at Heathrow if you missed an opportunity to dine at one of their locations in The City. The seating is dormitory style, so you're seated at a long table and share your experience with strangers, not always a bad thing! The menu is straight-forward, with an excellent selection of ramen, teppan, rice dishes, other noodles, dessert, etc. The amount of food received is enormous, so be prepared to eat a lot, or share. I think this place started out as a ramen restaurant and because of the popularity of these noodles, just expanded all over. Sad to say no location here in Seattle yet, but one can hope. I highly recommend for fresh and healthy Japanese cuisine.

We consistently eat at Wagamama when we are in London. The service is always great, the food s fresh and cooked to order. Sometimes it is hard to find something my husband can eat since he is a vegetarian, and I get sick of pub food. This is a great alternative and they are conveniently located all over the city. Some of my favorites are the saien soba, and yaki soba. Great apps are chili squid and ebi goza. They also do food to go if you want to take it out to a bench to people watch.

Good food for a very resonable price. The place is not very charming, but if you are in a hurry and starving, it's a perfect choice.

We traveled with a vegan-vegetarian who, along with the rest of us, was able to find the perfect dish. So much to choose from in pasta or rice dishes

hungry after the London eye. stopped in here for a bite with the kids. there is really something for everyone. In a place where food tends to be bland and uninspired (London in general) this was a very nice surprise.try it you'll like it

We took our 5 kids here. Loud, busy, quick. The rice was a good standby for our smaller kids. The bowls were really good. The Service was quick.

It was nice and clean, the service was decent, the bao buns we had were amazing, the ramen was pretty good, it wasnt "slurp the rest of the broth" good but the noodles etc were good! The gyozas were pretty flavourless, but the cherry blossom lemonade was great! The noodles were big portions in my opinion so wasnt too bad for the price.

Whenever I’m in London I eat the Chicken Katsu Curry from wasabi. The one from this particular branch was as good as always. The portions might not be as big as at the one in Victoria, where it’s not prepackaged, but the taste is the same. The curry tastes like in Japan and is worth every penny if you ask me:)
