Wagamama in Sheffield

Went in 6 nov, surly waitress,Ella or Ellie, sat me at a table, solo dinner, rather rude taking my order,ordered teriyaki chicken skewers, ridiculously salty, bordering on inedible, didn’t want to complain, pretty busy restaurant and surly waitresses, Yoko soba main was average, also a bit salty, young lad brought out my food, slammed it down on the bench, I spend a lot of time in Sheffield for work, won’t eat here again 👎 pretty terrible

'Guys', 'Guys', 'Guys', 'Guys', 'Guys'. For the love of G*d, stop calling customers 'Guys'!!!!! It's awful and I despise the term. Please. Just stop it! Paid my last visit to Wagamama. Whilst the food is nice (albeit very pricey for what it is), the restaurant is always cold, the service is far too casual and 'familiar' (oh, and the obvious chewing of gum while having our plates put in front of us - and drinks dumped in the middle of the table rather than being given to the person who ordered each of them - was just the last straw). Customer experience is simply not satisfactory in this place. It is just not a pleasurable evening out and certainly not worth the money.

Staff here are so friendly and positive despite the fact they always busy. My favourite waggas.

My starter and main turned up before my wife’s. Her main turned up before her starter. Pretty rubbish to say the least. No apologies or any thing. She actually had to pint out that she’d had no food. What a let down, Wagamama 😢

Refused a cocktail after being asked for ID - I’m 25 and my partner is 31… I don’t even get asked for ID to go into bars anymore as I’m quite clearly not under 18 or look under ‘challenge 21’ at this point. I offered a photo of my passport but he said that isn’t accepted, which I can understand I guess but I really wasn’t expecting for us to be going for a meal with a cocktail so didn’t even bring my bag and cards. Just felt a little over the top so we got up and left. We dine with you there once a month and have never been asked before - even at the centretainment branch.

Standard Wagamama, got exactly what we wanted! Lovely service :) just wish certain meals didn’t take so long to come out compared to others but hey ho

After talking to one of the wonderful head chefs while sat the kitchen side bar tables (we go that often) we found out about there new brunch menu. All.i can say it is amazing. Somethings are a tad sweet like the smashed croissant strawberry, but my partner loved it so it was a win, i honestly could not fault our food. As always top service! We chat to the kitchen staff when we go and always come away extreamly happy can not fault these guys. And in usual Wagas fasion food does come out when its done and i no particular order which is always told! A little FYI if you want a nice kick and love hash browns... the bang bang hash browns are an absolut must! And the terriaki mushrooms on the big breakfast are simply divine.

Had a lovely meal in Meadowhall today on 17/09 at 12pm and I was made to feel really awkward when leaving the restaurant as a women with long brown hair tied back chased us out thinking we hadn’t paid when my husband was paying at the back till. My autistic son was flustered and we were both made to feel belittled and upset. Other people queuing heard and saw this. Real shame !! Lindsay W

Classic wagamama. Service was really friendly and efficient. Restaurant was busy, but we got a nice table at the back. Place was clean and toilets were ok. Tables are too close to each other, but that’s the style of the chain. There’s an accesible toilet.

Very good service cooked to order. Was told when ordering the food will come as its cooked so might be out of order a little but no major problem to me. Personally I think the food was tasty and mostly healthy for you but expencive.i ordered a meal with prawns and got 4 prawns.my partner ordered a meal with steak which made mine look sparse.

It was my first time visiting wagamama's, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and tasty; the steak was cooked to perfection. I could have eaten it again. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

We are big Wagamama fans, but we had a great experience at Meadowhall. The shirodashi pork belly ramen was the best I've had from Wagamama in ages, and the new tataki beef starter is so good too - just wished there was more of it as it's so tasty!! Bridie was our server and she was super friendly and helpful. All round fab experience!

Lots of staff stood around but no one had any agency to take drinks out. It was boiling hot day, I’m pregnant and first thing I asked for was a glass of ice water. We were sat next to bar watching one bar staff churn out drinks and about 4 waitresses stood talking. I just went straight up to barman to ask for my drink, which he politely did. But it was just tap water with ice. So why can’t another member of staff do that and take it immediately ? We waited about 15 mins for our next drinks which my partner just went and took because they were so slow and could see them on the side with a pile of others. We then noticed one of the girls who had been stood around then ran over demanding everyone needed to run these drinks. They all looked confused about what was what and I noticed another customer had to come up to ask for their drinks too. Seems like Wagamama has updated menu for more upmarket experience but no basic training for staff. It is actually really annoying when they have this surface level of customer care which is scribbling all over your menu to point out a QR code and the waitress name if they can’t even do basic service… we went for teriyaki steak (£18 and salmon (£17) but steak was overcooked & very chewy. And noodles were dry. Salmon was under seasoned. Also why is everyone dressed like they’re going to a d&b rave? Cycle shorts and T-shirts made into crop tops.

We had a brilliant time at this venue, we have been before the alterations. I love the booth that we were shown to. We chose a number of dishes, our favourite duck gyoza, belly pork bao bun, chicken phad thai, and chicken yakitori. Then finally we had a katsu banana with ice cream.

It was really busy when we went so the server was not able to spend a lot of time with us as I had hoped was my first time visiting so unsure of the food

Food is always great. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is always busy which is probably a good thing but can be disappointing waiting for a table but can't be helped really. The kids love it here.

Staff are lovely but to bring out one mains when there are 3 people is ridiculous. Starters arrived after the one mains came out. Well overpriced for mains dishes which had very little chicken 5 pieces counted and 3 prawns. Food very dry and tasteless. Iced latte very overpriced for tiny glass.

Delicious every time, cant fault it, peak times can be abit busy but was discounted a full meal for the rush hour and was still given it no charge.

My fave place. The people that work there always go the extra mile. Food is also spot on.

Wouldnt recommend eating here if you have any dietry requirements/alergies. We informed the waitress that we were all vegetarian but they mixed up one of our sides with a duck one and there was a small piece of meat in one of our mains. They said it wasn't meat in the main, it's just the way they get the food or something which I'm not sure I believe but they still gave us duck and my friend didn't get so much as an apolgy even though she was very upset after taking a bite and I wouldn't trust them as far as cross contamination.

I've been too many different wagamama's across the UK and this was by far the best customer service I have ever seen, very attentive servers and very pleasant. Big shout out to Fatima, was a pleasure to eat out. I highly recommend the new saku noodles, very tasty 🤙

I've been to many different wagamamas, it's a very casual restaurant, but this time we were a bit disappointed. Food didn't taste as good as other venues. Drinks arrived after the food it should be the other way round.

Me and my boyfriend came for a date night and had a lovley time! My boyfriends first time at wagamamas and he loved it. We was served by James and he was so attentive and incredibly polite! Even tho we could tell he was busy he made sure we had everything we needed!

Food was amazing, service ok for the level of trade, atmosphere excellent as always.

I came with friends, one carried an allergy, giana came over quite rude to the lady she was training it seems, disrespectful attitude, cockiness and rude. Giana smashed a coke bottle shattering everywhere and ushered a young lad to clean up her mess. Giana has a very rude attitude and should not be allowed to wait on the public. Usually a fantastic visit, shame bad customer service from one individual can alter your whole perception of a place, such a shame as the lady she was training was warm and welcoming, smiling and very attentive. You have the wrong person trying her this is not the service you want to I still into anyone.

This is the best Wagamama that I have visited. The food was really very tasty and everyone in our group agreed that it was better than at other Wagamama restaurants we had visited. The serving staff were attentive and friendly. Would recommend.

We called into Wagamama's on spec for a meal for myself, husband and daughter on a busy Saturday night - 13/4/24. the food was lovely, but what made our meal was the great service that we had from Abi our waitress. She was very friendly and helpful and always smiling, and really wanted us to have an enjoyable meal. If you call in for a meal, I would ask to be served by Abi - I wish every waiter/waitress was as enthusiastic as Abi. If The Manager of Sheffield city centre Wagamama's reads this - Abi deserves a pay rise! Thank you Abi

We decided to eat at Wagamama's during our shopping trip to meadowhall. Due to an allergy we had a manager take our order, who was called Abi. Abi was really helpful and thorough with our order to ensure there were no errors with the allergy and she even recommended another dish to try. It was busy and there were lots of staff on hand, from the Doncaster store, I believe which is where Abi will be working. It was an overall great experience and we even decided to stay for dessert because the service was so good. Thank you!!! Good luck with the opening in Doncaster.

Great atmosphere. i love the fact that the food comes out as soon as it is ready but i dont like the fact htat the menu keeps changeing all the time. urg but still staff lovely and always love the food.

Sadly foods really gone downhill. Signature ramen, steak ramen no longer available. Meat is poor quality now and everything seems to come with vegan dressing. Sorry but I don't eat cheap industrially processed vegetable oils. Will no longer be going here

Visited yesterday and opted for the new chicken hot pot. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but I really thought the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and provide an incredible experience. Even though this branch gets very busy, the staff always manage the queues really well and never seem to lose enthusiasm with each customer. In the service industry, it can't be underestimated how much effort this takes this is especially when you are on your feet all day. I don't live locally but make a point of visiting here when I can because it's that nice. Thanks again for such a lovely meal!

Very short wait. Great service.

The food is rather ok, there are dishes that I like, but there are also some that I won't order again - but it's probably because it's not my taste and not because there was something wrong. The service was nice, fast and friendly. One star less for clothes - recently the girl who served the meal had such wide sleeves that she drowned them in my plate. The music doesn't match the atmosphere and definitely TOO LOUD!

Enjoyed the meal as there was lots of vegan options available and the alcohol free drinks were very tasty too. Service was pleasant and the food came quickly however further orders were hard to get like more drinks deserts and the bill which was mainly down to it been extremely busy to start with them quietened off towards the end of the meal. I would definitely eat here again

Lovely meal, never know what to order but staff really helpful as I'm sure most people are same. Food was delicious I did have to send my first main back as I asked for no onion and it came with but staff were quick to act and sorted it. Had starter main and dessert all lovely

Really has gone down hill not clean on the bar at all just left in the end after asking to move somewhere clean to be told to leave and come back in again.

I recently enjoyed a family dinner with friends at your restaurant. Overall, I had a positive experience and particularly enjoyed the: • Amazing vegetarian options: The Bang Bang Cauliflower, Yasai Pad Thai with tofu, Vegatsu, and Yasai Yaki Soba with mushrooms were all delicious and showcased a great variety of flavor profiles. However, there were a few areas where I think there could be some improvement: • Bang Bang Cauliflower crispiness: While the flavor was good, the Bang Bang Cauliflower wasn't as crispy as described on the menu. This slightly detracted from the overall dish. • Service speed: The service was a bit slow, especially considering it was a busy Saturday. It would be great if wait times could be kept to a minimum, even during peak hours. • Tap water availability: When I requested tap water, the response was that it was "on its way." I took over 10 min to receive it. Perhaps offering tap water proactively or clarifying any wait time would improve the experience. Despite these minor issues, I still enjoyed my meal at Wagamama Sheffield Meadowhall and would consider returning in the future.

First time I've been really enjoyed the experience

Had an absolutely fantastic experience here, we had a very long day and popped in after a hospital visit and was looked after amazingly well by Eileen. Not only were they professional but showed a great amount of compassion and understanding. Thank you so much Elieen, we hope you have a great day - everyday.

The food was good, I had a ramen, It slapped. The problem is the price, I don’t mind spending more for a meal. However, the drink I received was tiny less than a pint of coke. Nope! Not for me I’ll stick to TGI Fridays, where the drinks are bottomless for almost the same price mind you.

We've been here that many times, there's a staff member (friendliest and loveliest lady) that now just asks if we want the usual ☺️ Great customer service - Great food. Highly recommended 🍜

Easily my favourite place to eat in Meadowhall, we try to go once a month and it never dissapoints. Only thing I don't like is having other people sat so close to me (shared table) but that's probably because I'm very awkward and don't like other people!

the food was OK it was a bowl of soup but way too overpriced seating very hard and uncomfortable if it hadn't of been for our daughters birthday and her choice of venue we would never have gone and will not be going again

The price is on the high side, and the taste is average

Lovely food. Could do with a little bit more space between the groups. Had to listen to a middle aged Aunt interrogating her 16 year old nephew on his uni choices.

Fantastic food. Fantastic staff. Reasonable prices. The seating arrangements can be a little weird if you're not used to them, and not really suitable for an "intimate dinner for two" or similar.

Waitor and waitress are friendly. For the food, strawberry tea and sides(Bao) were really good but I don't quite like the main.

The restaurant was really nice we just didn’t get very good seats but apart from that it was wonderful :)

Excellent service and food especially catering for nut allergy.

The service is always amazing, especially concidering how busy it is whenever I end up visiting but the food is always way more oily than at other locations. I tend to find the ambient sound of the location quite overwhelming due to how busy it is as well.

I went to my first Wagamama restaurant a few months back at Manchester airport - for breakfast. Huge mistake (see my previous review). I complained and was sent a £20 voucher. Which I have to say I was a bit indifferent to use. Alone in Sheffield however I decided to give them another try and spend my twenty quid - glad I did! A whole different experience. Welcomed in by a very friendly supervisor/manager who helped me through the menu - waited on by a real nice and very efficient guy called Toby. For a starter I had pulled duck in a wrap which very nice. Followed by the firecracker main - very spicy and amazing. Malbec was good too. I think I will be going again - but unlikely to be at the airport! Top marks to show the contrast in my experience and the company complaints procedure for teasing me back!

First try of wagamama food Really impressed with quality of food and was seated in front of the kitchen so it was great watching food being made too. Price of meal for three was reasonable too. Would recommend

Wagamama has been something I've wanted to try for a while and finally took the opportunity to do so. The location is tucked away off to the side but it wasn't too hard to find. The interior gels really well with the style of dining. The staff were reasonably friendly but a bit annoying as we had numerous servers asking us questions a bit too frequently that we didn't have space to breathe. The food is reasonably priced with the Calamari being the highlight of the evening. It is the best Calamari I have had, no contest. I will come here just for it specifically. The mains (Katsu chicken and Chicken and Prawn Yakisoba) unfortunately did not deliver quite as much, being a bit more bland and Desert (Mochi) was alright but again, didn't deliver like the starter. The drinks that were had (Power, Cherry Blossom Lemonade and Power Panchi) were not that nice. The biggest issue of our evening however came from the bill where someone had paid for our table, seemingly by accident, which left the staff in a mess and us waiting for around 15 minutes for them to figure everything out. It would have been nice to have been compensated in some way or offered a drink for our time given we had made no error and technically could have left as our meal had been paid for. I doubt this happens often but nonetheless, it left a sour note.

When we arrived we were told there would be a wait and were given menus to look at outside in the entrance way. It was cold and so we closed the outside door. A server then came out reopened the door and reprimanded us in no uncertain terms in front of the other people waiting. If potential customers are spoken to like that we were not prepared to chance the table service. We went to a nearby restaurant where we were made to feel welcome and the service was great.

Food was lovely, but Ellie our waitress was amazing. Thank you for being amazing. I really appreciate you going above and beyond for us! x

Great asian fusion food. Very attentive staff although they did get our order wrong but quickly fixed it and gave us one dish free. The manager was really good . A pretty slick operation . Will come back when next in U.K.

Mixed experience at large restaurant chains can be expected, but I must commend Wagamama on their consistency through the years. It has always remained a safe option pre theatre or concert, consistent and tasty in their approach. Leaving London behind for a few days, the Meadowhall branch of the famous eatery was a welcome escape from the cold and rain. The food was delicious, well spiced and sized generously. I opted for the tofu gochujang rice bowl, bursting at the seams with flavour and a nice kick which doesn’t linger around. Chilli edamame and a lemon and ginger tea helped was down the goodness. Soulful, sense waking food. Our server and the rest of her team were hugely knowledgeable and incredibly positive. We took our time and felt welcome to do so! Sheffield service is always a nice break from the coldness of the capital, and Meadowhall Wagamama is a great advocate for that.

Steak was under cooked and the broth had too much chilli in overpowers over flavors

We were led to our table and the waitress was very friendly. We placed our order but we’re informed that 2 of our chosen orders and the beer my husband wanted weren’t available so that was disappointing. When the food arrived it was lovely however by this time our table had been ‘attended’ to by a waiter whose attitude at the very least was dismissive and bordered on rude. He hovered around the table as we were finishing as if he couldn’t wait for us to leave and another waitress started to clear the table before everyone had finished which a complete no no. We are regular visitors to Sheffield and safe to say there are far better places to eat on Leopold Square. We won’t return.

The 8 of us Tried this place for the first time tonight and we was not disappointed, the young lady "Kesy" who took care of us was very friendly, had a bit of a banter with us, the food was excellent, very tasty, overall a brilliant night out, will definitely be going back 😊

First time. There had to wait a while. But. Was fine. Did.t expected. To have more rice carrots then five Tony little bits c hicken. No sauce. But the service was good. Mighty return again
