Vujon in Cannock Chase

I visited this restaurant with 2 of my friends just before Christmas. After buying 3 alcoholic drinks and 6 poppadoms to start we ordered our mains. We ordered a main curry for 2 to share and I am a vegetarian so I requested the main korma without no chicken. I was told I was not able to do this I was confused so we asked for a manager. On the managers arrival he told me the same again that two adults could not share and my korma was not classed a main without chicken. This shocked me as I had never attended any curry house before where we wasn’t allowed to do so… I then told the manager again that I didn’t understand why the korma wasn’t classed as a main simply because I didn’t want any meat as a vegetarian I was completely offended when he then turned round and told me to “Order something else then” how unprofessional at this point I am getting very frustrated with him too as this is just ridiculous, he then continues to tell me that two adults cannot share a curry - I then ask him why? The only reason he can give me is the fact it says it in the menu in SMALL PRINT at the bottom of the pages. I am then asking why should we have to order EXTRA food that we aren’t going to eat? It will just go to waste - waste of money waste of food!!! I had visited Voujon the WEEK before with my partner and I was able to share a korma WITH NO CHICKEN just fine!!!! He then suggested vegetable curry for myself which again I refused as I want korma simply without the meat? What is so hard about that? At this moment again confused as I was in the SAME restaurant the previous week doing the same!!! Korma curry with NO MEAT!! In addition to this after speaking to a 5 person party who were in the restaurant at the same time, 2 of them was also sharing a curry which is actually laughable because you have the manager telling us we can’t do that and the table opposite who have ordered curries to share!!! I am absolutely appalled by this and in shock as I have visited here plenty of times and never had this treatment. Absolutely disgusting behaviour unprofessional staff & they need to make their mind up about the rules on the menu !!! We will never be returning to this place again!!!

Arrived without having booked, restaurant was fairly quiet - three tables with guests only being occupied. I was shown to a nice quiet corner table. Initial post Covid thoughts were that it was very well ventilated, doors left open giving a view through the kitchen, equally fromt door open and lots of ventilation - hand gel on each table, clean new easily cleanable menus too. Waiter kept good distance and as aways at Voujon service was extremely polite and friendly. In a nutshell - I felt relaxed, my concerns over eating out disapeared and I was left to simply enjoy the food and the experience. I often dine alone - I just soak up the atmosphere and enjoy being out in a social space for my meals. Food was excellent - I had onion bahjee and Chicken Jhal with Special fried rice and a Garlic nann bread. I enjoyed a chat with the owner after my meal and a try of some Jackfruit for my sweet. Simply great to be back - faultless meal, great company and a feeling of it all "being safe". Thank you Voujon! Oh, the price? - £13!! - I left a tip as we all should, especially when you are so well looked after as I had been.

During the covid -19 Situation last night was my daughters 18th birthday so with the neighbourS we had a driveway party. Ordered buffet snacks for 20 people samosas veg and meat Malala chips tikka chicken bits onion bhajas sheesh kebabs all packed for each household. Delivery time was perfect, the food was excellent and every neighbour mentioned the food was excellent. Only ordered the day before the staff at the voujon have done an amazing job Thankyou

Had a curry from here the other night which wasn’t too good I’m sorry to say! My partner and I had 2 different curries which were both tasteless watery and not much chicken in them! I won’t be visiting again unless they improve their recipe!

Had another great family get together at the Voujon. Food was excellent ! Service was very good, there were 16 of us and all the food arrived at the same time which is a big tick from us! Thank you Mia and Sam and especially the smiley chef :-)

Great local curry house - quality food at very good price. I moved to Norton Canes two years ago and have become a regular at this restaurant, I’ve tried a fair few different curries and have never had a bad experience here. As a seasoned Indian restaurant visitor I can honestly say that this place is superb The waiters are good and attentive, the chef is first class too I’m there again tonight for the £9.95 buffet special - popadoms with pickle tray, Onion bahjee starter, Chicken Jaal (madras hot) with mushroom rice and a garlic nann bread. As always superb and what great value! Take your own drinks too - co-op is opposite and has a cold beer fridge I feel so lucky to be walking distance from this excellent restaurant Top marks guys!

walking back from the lantern parade we passed decided to call in the Voujon. I'm glad we did. We had a fantastic meal and it was really good value as we used the 4 course for £9.95 offer. I had Kali Mirchi as a starter and Chicken Sylheti Bhuna as my Main course and they were delicous. We have booked to go their on New Years eve Hold your breath for my review.

The curry was amazing,everything is fresh,definitely visiting again.The staff was very friendly they made us feel welcome.

I have enjoyed eating in the restaurant but as my mum is disabled and in a wheelchair we use the takeaway option on a pretty regular basis, and now we can order and pay online which is even better! Food is always excellent, fast delivery and friendly, polite staff.

Another wonderful meal. Such quality food and service to match. Well worth a visit. Co-op on the other side of the road to buy your booze.

This is a great family restaurant. Good food for every taste, food never lets us down, 9 years as a customer and still my favourite curry house in the midlands. There is nice atmosphere in the restaurant and there are amazing offers like £9.95 from Sunday to Thursday.

Vegetarian night, and yet again food was excellent. Had Lentil Dahl and Aloo Gobi with roti and raitha. Absolutely yammy. Great service again. Kally and I were very happy.

We had a wonderful meal tonight for 8 of us celebrating my son's 21st ..I don't eat spicy foods but I thoroughly enjoyed my vegetable plater tandoori chicken and a nan bread ..so much I've re book in 2 weeks time ..the staff are very polite and are very accomodating to helping you with the menu .. deffinatley worth a visit 😁😁

Visited Voujon last night, staff were very friendly and efficient. We had the 4 courses for £9.95 which is fantastic value. The Paneer is so fresh and delicious and the Naan bread are crispy and flavourful. You can take your own alcohol and they'll open it and provide glasses. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Havent been in for a while but the food was fabulous, we bought a friend who hasnt eated Indian food apart from a Korma so we got her to try other stuff and she loved it Now that its a 4 course meal Sunday to Thursday its great.

Recently we moved to Norton Canes. We like our curries and I have been to some places in Cannock but didn't really like it. However, today I been to The voujon with some of friends and got to say one of the best curry has I been to by far. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent The atmosphere was great The waiter called ikky who give us first class service considering how busy they were when we arrived. Definitely visiting again soon.

I went to the VOUJON on monday last with my wife in a party of six on the occassion of my sisters golden wedding anniversary and what a pleasant surprise we were welcomed by IQY who ensured we were looked after splendidly, Weekdays they offer a £9.95 special, excellent value for money and top quality. I had forgotten my specs but no problem Iqy came to the rescue with a selection of specs for me to try,now thats what i call service!. I had a chat with chef ALOM and decided upon a chicken shaslik starter and for the main a bangladeshi verson of chicken jalfrezi with a side dish of aloo saag absolutly stunning this was accompanied by a plain naan and a chilled bottle of hoegarden from my fridge. We will definately be recommending the voujon to friends and visiting again in the near future VERY WELL DONE GUYS and many thanks.Although the restaurant is fairly sizeable with quality food like this on offer table reservations at weekends would be advisable

The food is always delightful here with perfectly spiced dishes and use of fresh ingredients and tonight it has been very pleasant, as the food was marvellous. I had a beef special which has to be one of the best beef dish I’ve ever had. Had to go to the kitchen to say than you to the chef Alom how smashing the curry was. Iky has created the dish for me. A top kid who always see us like a family rather then customers. The place is immaculate and very tidy as always. Sad to here Mr Miah is poorly and hope he gets well soon. Lastly thank you to everyone in Voujon for their hospitality and especially Iky who works extremely had to maintain high standard.

First time trying this amazing restaurant as just moved to the area. We had the £9.95 special and had to roll out afterwards, the food was excellent from the Tandori chicken starter to the chicken pathia with mushrrom rice and aloo gobi. Would highly recommend and will definately be back.

We went to Voujon last night. There were 8 of us. We go here at least twice a month, it is our favourite restaurant.The food is always amazing and the staff are very professional and friendly.They are now doing the banquet night from Sunday through to Thursday. £9.95 per head for poppadums, starter, main course, rice or naan bread for each person and choose a side dish between 2 people. Brilliant value. Take your own alcohol.Another amazing night out, as always

I visited Voujon after reading the excellent reviews on here, I'm a huge curry fan so like to find new decent places to eat.

I just love this place, the staff are so welcoming and the food is fabulous. I visited the Voujon this week to find that the Monday & Thursday offer (4 Courses @ £9.95 pp) has now been extended, and now runs from Sunday to Thursday, happy days.

I walked down to the Voujon last and was greated by the friendly staff.

My whole family enjoy eating here, the food is delicious and the customer service is excellent.

My Dad and I visit Voujon about every couple of months, to spend some quality time together and enjoy a curry. We usually go on a Tuesday evening, when it's quieter.

I’ve been using this restaurant for nearly two years since I moved to the local area.

Food not very warm, only seemed to be one person working, pretty basic restaurant. Food delivered to table in no sort of order, kept waiting for the rest of our food order.

Always a warm welcome. We had another excellent meal. They now do beef curries which we tried, the beef and sauce were delicious. On holiday this Sunday so we will have to wait another week.

The food is absolutely delicious here no doubt I can eat here 7 days a week if I was retired, not too busy with work. That’s how much the family and I love this place. We visit here every week and we try different dishes which is not one the menu. The chef makes it into perfection, colour looks the same on some dishes but the flavour and taste is what you die for. It’s brilliant how they deal with the spice. Makes it into a delicious dishes . The service is excellent and even thought the place was busy iky always gives us the luxury service. Was there last night as a group of 10 and the food was served to its normal high standard - the guys looked after us really well - best news is there £9.99 offer now has been extended to further nights from a Monday to Thursday .... we had extras and it was still only £11 per head best value around

We always walk out of Voujon, satisfied and full and say “You never get a bad meal in Voujon”. It’s true. The food quality is really high and the value superb. Service and the staff are great too, always friendly and attentive.

Good food at very reasonable prices , they do a £9.95 special Monday to Thursday appetiser, starter , main & side if that’s not enough add a couple of extra dishes and you’ve still got a great meal very cheap . Not licensed but your welcome to take your own alcohol and there’s a co-op right opposite to buy it from . Staff are so friendly & helpful. Would definitely go back

Nice to see this business in the village doing well. I do struggle here. Not with the quality of food. Which is great. But the time it takes to get the food out. Even for a takeaway. So if you are in no rush and want a social night. This will be a good place to eat. Really friendly staff. Just wish the Kitchen moved at a quicker speed.

Poppadoms were salty. Curries were tasteless, no spice to the jalfrezi at all. Bhuna had no flavour just tasted like water. Absolutely terrible! The food came in PLASTIC bowls!!! The chips were dripping in oil and there were only a total of 8 people including ourselves on a Saturday night at 7pm. Never again!

One of our favourite places to eat, without a doubt! As well as going to The Voujon regularly as a couple, we also dine there as part of a local business networking group. Our party sizes have ranged from 8 to 26 and The Voujon team always deliver: excellent service, fantastic food at an incredibly good price, and no pressure to hurry through our evenings. Been here a few times now it’s rather hit and miss! Have had meals missed off and forgotten and it holds up the rest of the table. Think the food suffers when it’s more busy!

What absolutely gem of a place. This is a restaurant with real Indian tasty food. Every occasion we visit food and service gets better. We had an takeaway yesterday and the food was absolutely delicious, it’s not watery or over cooked like other restaurants. The service was excellent the lad who took my order was very polite. Delivery time is very good aswell. Definitely check this place out.

As always, service and food were outstanding. Always willing to accommodate the two coeliacs in the family as well, which is great for us. Husband really enjoyed his chicken nawabi. We will be visiting again very soon!

Me and my partner came for a meal here on 18/04/2019 and found it was the banquet night. Can not fault anything at all, banquet was £9.95 per person and included popadums, a starter, main, rice or naan each and also a side dish between 2. Lovely and friendly atmosphere - you are ALWAYS made to feel welcome. Staff are attentive but not intrusive. Service is excellent. They are not licenced but you can take any drinks you require and they will provide glasses for you. This restaurant is local for us so we do not need to telephone for a booking.

This place is quality. Spotlessly clean, food is top notch and the service is great. It’s not licensed but you can take your own. Highly recommend exploring the chefs specials, some combinations on there I’ve not seen elsewhere. Will definitely be back again.

My sister over from Switzerland once again we really enjoyed the food, it’s a must for every visit Mr Vujon senior and his waiters are so helpful and generous offering us extra side dishes. Very tasty and great value for money.

Eaten here twice in the last 10 days - that should tell you all you need to know. Excellent, fresh food accompanied by helpful, friendly service. I LOVE Indian food, and we are blessed that we have so many in the area to chose from; but having eat at pretty much all of them, I have to say the you will not find a better one than Vojon in Norton Canes.

This is one of the best restaurant in cannock i don't think any place is higher then the Voujon. Food is always cracking. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. By the way this place open at 5:45. Sometime they run slightly late because they visit from Birmingham so the person who is wrote the review it's not true.

Visited the restaurant on Saturday 19th November 2016. Once again they've pulled it out of the bag never had a bad meal there ever in all the years I have been going there. I have to say to all the staff that work at the Voujon in Norton Canes, thank you every single one of you as you've delivered an array of amazements every time I dined with you. The food is Delicious and presented expertly your taste buds explode with all the different flavours that blend tremendously. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all the prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is ever to much trouble to sort out for there guests the place is clean and tidy and very vibrant.Until my next visit lads see you all again very soon.

My wife and I decided to go to the vujon which is a short walk from my house on Saturday 12th of November. The advertised opening time was stated on the Internet as 5 30 We arived at 5 25 we stood outside in drizzle, We waited until 5 50 and no one came, we were disgusted by this time and left. We don't know what the food or service is like. If they are this blaze about there opening times it must have a baring on there food and service, we shall not be going back.

Probably the worst Indian I have ever hadI am sure they gave me the wrong dish as I know what it should taste like as Its only dish I have. It tasted of nothing, was the wrong colour and had nothing but vegDefiantly wouldn't go back

We have been to the Vujon many times in the past few years and have always had a very good meal, this time although the restaurant was rather quiet the service was really bad.It wouldn't put me off going back again as the food is lovely but it does worry me that if we went on a busy night how long we would have to wait for our orders and the correct orders.

Yet again what a fantastic night, superb food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. Thanks Vujon for choosing our little village to open your restaurant.

We hadn't been to the Vujon for a number of months due to working away . I must say on our return we were not disappointed , the welcome we received from the staff was very warm and sincere as always. It was like we had never been away, the food was top quality and Miah added some lovely personal touches just for good measure. They never cut corners with the quality of the ingredients and definitely not on the amount either. In our case, abscence definitely made the heart grow fonder!!!

Last Thursday night is our night for an Indian. There is only one choice locally!! Vujon all the way.Super starter of Lamb tikka, followed by mixed grill with side of spinach and garlic.Kids had Makhani Chicken tikka. This restaurant is warm and welcoming, myself and my partner had never been before our friends had chosen and booked for the 4 of us. The food was good and hot, one thing that was a problem was trying to order a soft drink for myself. There were a number of drinks on the menu but a simple glass of lemonade was not available even though it was clearly on the menu. I would recommend taking your own so much simpler. There were a number of people working but trying to catch someone was a little difficult on a few occasions even though the place wasn't that busy. I would go again though.

Decided to go here after an evening shift at work. Arrived about 10pm. Decor is lovely and restaurant looks clean. Staff polite and professional throughout. Food was lovely and full of flavour.. I didn't want to leave a crumb on my plate! Only negative comment I would make is staff seemed a bit reserved and not so much in a rush to kick us out but at the same time wanting us to get out. But what can we expect for arriving an hour before the restaurant closed! I would not hesitate to visit here again and again.. Not the closest Indian restaurant to where I live but I'm certainly happy to travel to here. Thank you

Went to vujon on my partner's recommendation as he has often been with people from work; it was also only 8.95 a head for starter, main and sides. All was very nice, except for the chicken in my main meal which I am 100% sure came precooked out of a packet, it was cut thinly and tasted of cardboard. The chicken in my partners starter which i tried was in chunks and really tasty, but the meat in my main was definitely not fresh chicken. Wasn't impressed at all. The sauce was good, and maybe as they were very busy had ran out of fresh chicken. I'd go again just to see if next time I get proper meat as I'm sure that it would be an excellent meal if that was the case

No delivery and no call to say they were not going to deliver our meal. Had to call to find out from a rude man that they were "too busy" and were "cancelling our order". Very poor, and disappointing. Will not use again, and Just Eat should review them as a member!

We live local to Vujon and go in there every week. All their dishes are fantastic. I see some people saying they are slow... surely thats a good thing? Good food takes time to cook.... be patient. theirs always McDonalds if you want it straight away. A1 service and take your own drinks makes it for us too... no getting ripped off £3 for a coke... Keep up the cracking workMark, Tash, Brooke and Robbie
