Stayed for 1 night in King std room with breakfast. The room was lovely, nicely furnished except for a very stained chair. However the so called 'King size' bed wasn't, it was barely larger than a double, if it was indeed a King. ( we have one at home so can compare directly) The mattress was lumpy, and well passed its use by date as the springs were terrible ! Very poor nights sleep as a result. Hotel was very busy with very noisy (inconsiderate) people up and down corridors all through the night, banging doors and shouting and giggling. False fire alarm at 4am didn't help matters and broke what little sleep we had, even further. Breakfast was the highlight, but returning to our room the key card refused to work. ( this also happened recently at another IHG / Indigo hotel) Is this new company policy on the last day? Seriously, 8am disconnection of key card was not appreciated, resulting in a walk to reception from the 3rd floor. Not happy on checkout being asked about score out of 10 in public area, is this also a new policy as this again happened at IHG/ Indigo hotel recently. In essence we would score 7/10 and comment 'Adequate, but we expected better from IHG'.

No shower soap, so as you can imagine that was a difficult moment. Had to keep getting out to get the soap from the sink. Something so little ruined the stay, so for me I won't be staying again.

I didn't use the room only the confidence room. The room is great for meeting up to 150. The staff was very friendly.

We recently stayed for 8 days due to business in the area. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Special mention to a staff member called Was, he provided excellent hospitality throughout our stay and really went the extra mile even when we arrived back late at night, we I’ll definitely be rebooking next year

Location is great 👍🏼 rooms are lovely but my shower had more water exiting the hose than the head .. my view was ... interesting 🤔 but it was a works trip so I'm not really entitled to a nice one! Breakfast... first day teas and coffee were freezing the next day they'd done away with the canisters and were making fresh! Brilliant! Staff were friendly and helpful the venue was very clean parking was easy - a nice place to stay all in all

Really nice place to stay for Solihull. Short trek for NEC and airport, but worked out nicely for our party. Rooms are well laid out with good furniture and comfortable beds, windows that keep the noise out, and quiet AC that keeps the temp level, all the basics you need. USB chargers, TV you can cast to, biccies with the tea and coffee passes the nice to have extras box too. Layout is a little odd and one of our party struggled to find room at first (room numbering is a bit non standard) but nicely set up for conferences as well as just overnight stays. Well set up fitness club and small pool/spa to boot. Staff very helpful and friendly, small bar well set up. Only had breakfast which was very nicely done (self serve, but extras cooked to order on request) and very well labelled for allergies etc - welcome addition as some places overlook this a little for breakfasts. Very short walk to Solihull centre for shopping and food and drink. Need to persuade folks to rebook this place for our next Birmingham meetings!

Thank you to Keighley and the events team at the lovely voco St John's for being on TEAM SECRET with us for our corporate Singing Waiters in the UK surprise last week. We were looked after beautifully, the food we were served was absolutely lovely, hot and yum. The staff looked after us as one of their own and the room we were in was absolutely perfect for our performance. We cannot wait to come back to surprise again in the future. Thank you from myself and the team Paula and the Singing Waiters in the UK Team

Didn't stay here but I would love to. It's a beautiful hotel with marvellous conference facilities. Just a quick stroll to buses and trains making it very accessible from Bhx and Birmingham City Centre.

I was here for leisure but my other half was here for work so whilst he was at work in the office I could make the most of the onsite leisure facilities (sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) . From start to finish felt really looked after especially by Lucy at reception. She went above and beyond and provided exceptional service. It's the second time staying at Voco, previously stayed in the Cardiff one and can see why Voco is a recommended stay! Worth the money and breakfast was nice too and tasted fresh! Thank you and see you again!

Unfortunately after my second stay here I’ve dropped my rating from 5 star to 3 star . Beware room 3000 where the window is screwed shut for some reason . It was like a sauna and we slept so badly . Even worse I had specifically requested a room with opening window as I have allergies . The night porter Waz was lovely and tried to make amends by bringing a fan and iced water but they simply weren’t enough as it was a HOT night . I have fed this back to the hotel -they have asked if they could do anything to put this right - but when asked how they would usually put right a problem like this retrospectively - they have twice texted me to say they will look into It immediately but then never got back to me . Suggestion to hotel - don’t send a text asking how is the room if you’re not prepared to deal with any negative feedback but really you should be able to comfortably sleep in a hotel room . Apart from the overheated room it was well decorated , good location , EV charging and nice staff. I think we were just unlucky and I would give it another try .

What an incredible, personalized welcome. In the middle of this typically English town, you'll find a warm, well-maintained hotel. Smiling people at reception, perfectly kept rooms, a quality bar and a breakfast with plenty of choice. An ideal address for your stay in Birmingham.

Had a very pleasant overnight stay at Voco St John’s. The rooms are clean and modern, beds very comfortable. The frothy drinks machine in the hotel (with assorted biscuits) was a nice touch. Walking distance from Touchwood. Exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and personable staff at the reception. Would stay here again in the future.

We were staying in the Travelodge over the road and as it was chucking it down we decided a quick scamper to Kismet would be sensible. I’m glad we did as we really enjoyed the food and service. We chose king prawn with garlic and chilli, tandoori lamb chop, then meat thali and duck bhuna. All of the food was well presented, tasted great and was very filling. We ended up leaving some as the portion size was a bit much for us.

Ideal situation in middle of Mell Sq, v busy, v friendly service, ate bacon bap and sausages in sourdough toast, large portions and v tasty, reasonable price, could not fault and will revisit.
