Vivo Italian Doncaster in Doncaster

First time here tonight, came for my wife's birthday. Could not fault anything at all was absolutely stunning, food looked and tasted amazing, staff were all very accommodating and friendly (even with our two kids 6 and 10 which a lot of places don't like) definitely my new favourite place and will be visiting a lot more. Thankyou for a very tasty, plesent evening.

Loved vino’s, everything from the food to the hospitality was spot on, we had the Tiger prawns and mozzarella crum in a gorgeous sauce which were divine, fillet steak medallions which were cooked to perfection and the biscoff cake for dessert which was delicious, the drinks were amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly. We will definitely come here again

Lovely and authentic Italian experience, food was great and service excellent. Food was served without much waiting and we weren't rushed. Highly recommended.

I would never usually leave a bad review but I feel we were left with no choice. I ordered a risotto dish as my main dish and when it arrived it was not risotto, risotto is small grains of rice which is creamy and rich but instead it was long grain rice in a watery broth. The front of house guy came over and told us that they had run out of risotto rice so they had to use long grain but this was not explained to us upon ordering the dish. Then went on to charge us full price for the dish which was hardly touched and was honestly not very nice. Sadly we will not be returning and would definitely not recommend to anyone who knows and loves their food! Extremely disappointed

2024 update: Returned after a while as not local and had the best sirloin steak I've had this year...tasty and perfectly cooked to order. Previously: Really enjoyed the welcome, drinks served while you wait for a table etc . I had a Bruschetta starter and a freshly cooked Tagliatelle 'dish of the day' ... lovely taste for both. Service was attentive.

Genuinely the best Italian meal I've had in a long time. I never leave reviews but felt that our overall experience was that good I had to. We will be back 100%

First visit great food vibes really friendly staff a fantastic Italian restaurant

First visit to Vivo and we loved it. Small and traditionally decorated, full of atmosphere and a warm friendly service. (Hi Dan!) The menu has a good choice from pasta and pizza to meat and fish dishes with some interesting specials. Husband had tiger prawn starter and I had creamy garlic mushrooms. Both were lush. Mains was seabass in white wine sauce finished with prawns and husband had fillet steak. Both dishes came with lovely side order of roast potatoes and braised vegetables. Finished off sharing a tiramisu (home made and gorgeous). Lavassa coffee excellent. A busy Saturday night with a birthday party, but service was prompt and nothing too much trouble. We will be back and recommend to friends and family. A little way out of the centre of Doncaster in Bennetthorpe but well worth the trip.

The staff here are lovely and make you feel welcome. The food is exceptional and we will return again very soon.

Found this gem whilst away on business. I have been fortunate enough to have eaten in a ton of Italian restaurants throughout the UK and I can honestly say the food at Vivo Doncaster was incredible, the best I have ever tasted. Not only was the food amazing but the hospitality was first class with the owner/head chef even taking a few minutes to sit and talk with me with the restaurant very busy. grazie mille

We have been here several times and never had a bad word to say about anything. The food is always amazing, the wine is always good and the service is brilliant. Keep doing what you do, please.

Bang average Italian. Prices not too bad but lacks any flair. Had much better. Had one high chair. Had to sit my toddler on cushions. No kids menu just smaller portions.

Most disappointed on our last visit,the meal was average the service was poor,we really felt neglected.

Prawns were not Deviened !! Too noisy and tables were crammed together to accommodate more people, not pleasant. I did not enjoy it.

Good food but my bolonese was way to salty just like someone use British salty meat for Italian dish and add salt on top.

Great Italian restaurant. I generally order the steak, which is amazing, and my girlfriend orders the Italian food. I get to finish her plate and it tastes great to me as well!

Cosy restaurant with quite good food. Prices vary depending what you’re ordering. I think the menu is very different to most of the restaurants, many dishes you wouldn’t really get anywhere else and that’s the strength of this place. Some meals are very nice, some a bit of a hit and miss. Had I think seabass last time and especially for the price there was nothing special about it at all. Had some seafood spaghetti though before and it was nice. My friend had a steak and she really enjoyed it the first time but 2nd time it came quite overcooked and not seasoned enough. First time I went there I was amazed but after 2nd visit I can only say it’s generally a good place. Also if you and your company both get same side to your meal, they serve you them on the same dish for you to share which I’m finding wrong and awkward. I guess that’s fine if you come with your partner but if you just come with a mate then it just doesn’t work and they don’t seem to see where is the issue in this. Cakes are okay, one dessert that is definitely worth it is tiramisu, it’s really nice. Also just as additional info: restrooms absolutely freezing in the winter.

Excellent food and attentive staff. Atmosphere a bit let down with Formica tables without cloths which gives feeling of a cafe rather than a top restaurant. Not cheap but it is a cut above the rest food wise. A little more upmarket additions would certainly elevate the whole experience

Wow, what a great Italian 🇮🇹 restaurant. I haven't had a chance to visit for a while, in fact a few years, but after such a fantastic meal 🙌 I will return again soon! Staff are always super friendly and welcoming and the service was pukka. Food tasted great, cooked to perfection and my desert coffee ☕ and lemon drizzle cake 🍰 was yummy! Parking 🅿️ available on surrounding streets. Wheelchair access ♿ looked ok, but as it's an old building and the door widths looks tight I would suggest checking before arriving. The service wasnt great, i received the wrong starter, mo one asked us if we would like another drink even though our glasses were empty, we had to ask for dessert menu and no brought us the bill after asking for it. Still sat twenty minutes later so went ti the bar to pay it. It was 7pm when arrived with three tables occupied so they weren't busy. We used to love it here. But not now sorry. Also the menu hasnt changed in years..

I love this place. Many people love it so sometimes is too loudly. Place better for family/friends meetings than for intimate date.

Excellent service. Waitress was very knowledgeable about each dish. Chef was happy to adjust a dish to accommodate a dietary requirement.

Put it this way, the next time I'm in Doncaster, this will be my first destination for an authentic Italian experience.

Went here for the first time and we will be back, food was lovely, ( could have done with a bit more filling in the cannelloni) but apart from that 👍staff are so friendly! Even the chef came out and had banter with us. Would definitely recommend this place.

Need to book as they are very busy, however we still got served quickly. Great atmosphere. Great service and the food was delicious. It's not cheap but if you want quality that's the price. Will be going again. Think the food was even better than last time.

Positives : food was really nice Negatives : 1) my fiancée cut her arm on a sheered price of wood. 2) the table was that rocky we used our napkins to prop the table up, so we could eat. 3) the waitress who attended to us couldn’t tell my fiancée what the specials were/what they consisted of. 4) the pink gin had to be sent back and the beer had no life to it. 5) it wasn’t even organised chaos, it was just mental, nobody had a clue. We were offered the drinks poured for the couple behind us, we said no they’re their drinks you can’t do that. The place it’s self looks really nice and authentic from the outside, but in the inside it was like a old cafe with chairs from a bingo hall and tables from the 80s, nothing screamed authentic to us, we booked a taxi to leave earlier than expected! Really disappointed and wouldn’t return again.

Food was great, even adjusted my dish especially for me. Service was excellent and the price very reasonable. Have paid much more elsewhere for an inferior meal.

Big party very cramp seating. Waiter couldnt be bothered to bring drinks list and food was average at best. £3 for small portion of chips which looked just like mcdonalds but less of them.. wont visit again.

Had an amazing meal at Vivo last night. Lots of authentic Italian options to tempt us on the menu, and the food was delicious and portioned generously. The service was impeccable with everyone extremely friendly and knowledgeable or the menu. Would highly recommend and we can't wait to return!

The place has a very homely feel to it, especially the entrance. The place is nicely decorated up for Christmas and Christmas songs playing. The first thing I had was the starter; Crocchet Di Mozzarella for £7.20 It's a Deep fried Buffalo Mozzarella in bread crumbs, served with a tomato sauce and garnish. At first I was kinda judging how it will taste on looks, but I was expecting a small portion, but definitely bigger than what I was expecting. I'd say this is just right but still probably not enough for the price. It was lovely and I certainly made a good choice, will 100% have this every time. For my main I had Filetto Al Pepe for £23.90 It's a Fillet of beef served in a creamy peppercorn sauce with brandy and a hint of garlic. It comes with some veg on the side and I had orderd a side of chips for £3. The beef was about the same size as my starter which I wasn't expecting, it was cooked to my taste, 'medium to well done'. Probably the best peppercorn sauce I've had, all the flavour with less of the spices. The kids had double chocolate cake, there's quite a few afters to choose from and they all look so lovely When asking for the bill, adults got a complimentary shot, kids got lollys... Except me, I got a lolly for some reason so the driver someone else gave me theirs. Overall lovely food, homely setting but it's an expensive hour.

Did not rate the pizza. In my view/opinion you can get better ones at the supermarket. I also found the wine and beer expensive. Restaurant could do with refurbishment or a lick of paint. On a positive note service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

Fabulous food, amazing atmosphere, super staff. No problem at all accommodating dietary needs, or facilitating the Guide dog pup in training. Great value in lovely surroundings. Highly recommend!

This has to be one of the friendliest places I’ve eaten in, the staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the food is excellent, had mussels the other night, the sauce was to die for, this is have an Italian restaurant should be.

Best Italian restaurant in Doncaster.

I've been here a number of times and always enjoyed it, but this time not so much. I had a starter I don't remember what it was called but it cost £7.50 and from what I could see it was 3 x slices on beef tomato with 3 x slices of cheese 1 inch x 2 inch and a drizzle of oil with chopped leaves in it. One of my companions had a risotto and basmati rice appeared to have been used and not risotto rice. My dessert was cheesecake with forest berries which were watery which in my house usually means they were frozen not fresh . There were a few other niggles from my other companions but I can't remember what. I don't know if they've relaxed a few things cos of Covid but it was disappointing. I really hope it picks up. The staff are friendly, polite and really nice
